Tamara R. (Davis) Gavin, 33 of Leesville, La passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at her home in Leesville. She was born on March 24, 1978 in El Dorado, Ar to Sidney E. Davis and Laura Lee Pate.
Tamara was a fun loving person who loved life and having a good time. She also enjoyed singing karaoke and loved to shop. She was a loving mother and was a member of the Blanchard Springs Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Sidney E. Davis; her Grandparents, and a step-brother, Lane Allen Pennington.
Survivors include her mother, Laura L. Pate of Marksville, La; one daughter, Alexis DeBellvue also of Marksville, La; two sons, Tyler Davis and Makana Gavin both of Leesville, La; two step children, Casey Gavin of Washington, D.C and Christopher Gavin of Baton Rouge, La; three brothers, Zachary Pennington of Junction City, Shaun Davis of Homer, La. and Kevin Davis of Ruston, La; one half brother, Scott Davis of Spearsville, La. and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will begin at 10:00 am on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Bailey Funeral Home in Junction City with Bro. Richard Methvin officiating. Burial will follow at Beech Grove Cemetery under the direction of Bailey funeral Home of Junction City.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm at Bailey Funeral Home in Junction City.

August 17, 1924 - November 8, 2011
Funeral services for Mrs. Pearla Jean Flora, age 87, will be held Friday, November 11, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Trinity Worship Center with Rev. Tommy Brown, Rev. Richard Exley and Rev. Tom Hill officiating. Interment will follow in Springhill Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.
Visitation will begin Thursday at 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM in Bailey Funeral Home.
Jean was born August 17, 1924 to William Jasper and Winnie Guy Cooper in Thornton, AR and passed away peacefully with her family at her side in Grace Home, Shreveport, LA, Tuesday, November 8, 2011 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was a lifetime resident of Cullen, LA and had lived the last four years in Shreveport, LA. Jean was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and was a charter member of Trinity Worship Center and attended Gateway Assembly of God in Shreveport, LA when possible. She owned and worked with her husband for many years in the service station business, was an avid seamstress, gardener and loved being with family and friends, always ready to lend a hand to those in need, a mighty prayer warrior with a heart of gold. Having a great love for her Lord and Savior and family, Jean will be missed greatly by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Juanita Welch and husband, W.L. of Shreveport, LA, Wade Orville Flora of Baytown, TX, Barbara Rhodes and husband, Don of Sarepta, LA; grandchildren, Jeff Welch of Alexandria, LA, Wendy Rucker and husband, Don of Shreveport, LA, Tabitha Tanner and husband, Neil of Colleyville, TX, Mark Hurt, Chris Hurt, both of Nashville, TN, Nikki Hurt of Baytown, TX, Ricky Rhodes and wife, Asteana of Sarepta, LA, Robin Wells and husband, Michael of Springhill; twenty-five great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Jean is also survived by special friends, Marilyn Morgan, Phil Hull, Doc and LaVerne Smith, Gene and Loraine Masingill and all of her church family which was very special to her.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Wade D. Flora; her parents; three brothers and four sisters.
Honoring her as pallbearers will be Jeff Welch, Ricky Rhodes, Michael Wells, Stuart Jones and Gary Amis. Honorary pallbearers will be Peyton Rucker, Bradley Dean, Chance McDonald, Logan and Justin Manshack.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Dhawan, Lauren Scheffy and staff for all of the love and support they have given us over the last four years and the loving and caring staff of Grace Home. We cannot thank you enough for what you gave to our family during a very difficult time.

Funeral services for LaFrances 'Frankie' Carolyn Ratliff Pickett, age 56, will be held Monday, November 28, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain William Buster Bailey officiating. Burial will be in the Western Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Sunday at Bailey Funeral Home.
Mrs. Pickett, a lifelong resident of this area, died Friday, November 25, 2011 in Springhill. She was a member of the Baptist faith, was employed as a clerk at Taylors Stop & Shop and was a former bookkeeper. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gary Pickett; her mother, Louise Franks Ratliff and a sister, Linda Kay Ratliff.
Mrs. Pickett is survived by her father, Porter Ratliff; sister, Rita Allen and husband, Don, all of Springhill; a brother, Jimmy Ratliff of Shreveport, LA and a number of nieces and nephews.

Olene Watson Sawyer

Funeral service for Mrs. Olene Watson Sawyer, age 98, will be held Friday, March 30, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Everett officiating. Interment will follow in Springhill Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.
Family will receive friends beginning Thursday at 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
Mrs. Sawyer was born August 2, 1913 in Bernice, LA to Lester and Evvie Watson and passed away Sunday, March 25, 2012 in Bossier City, LA. She was the oldest of seven children. Mrs. Sawyer moved to Springhill during the mid 1930s and was the oldest active member of Central Baptist Church at the time of her death. During her life in Springhill, she was involved in business and civic groups in the community. Mrs. Sawyer enjoyed cooking and sharing many delicious meals with family and friends. She was healthy and active and her mind and memory remained sharp until an illness approximately two months prior to her death. Mrs. Sawyer always said rocking chairs are the downfall of older people.
She is survived by her son, Jerry Sawyer of Lake Erling, AR; daughter, Sandra Hamil and husband, Wray of Sugar Land, TX; grandchildren, David Sawyer and wife, Leslie of Aliso Viejo, CA; Greg Starks and wife, Rona of Sugar Land, TX; great grandchildren, Shay Sawyer, Lindsay Sawyer, Courtney Starks; sister, Jimmie Swackhammer of Fort Worth, TX and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Sawyer was married to her husband, Shay Sawyer for 53 years until his death in 1990; she was also preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Kay Sawyer and her siblings, Myrtle Tubbs, W.C. Watson, G.W. Watson, Virginia Pollard and Martha Noe.
Serving as pallbearers will be Charles Colley, Robert Colley, Jerry Stephens, Dr. Wayne McMahen, Ron Aycock and James Colvin.

Visitation will begin Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Bailey Funeral Home, Cotton Valley.
Mrs. Jones was born November 17, 1925 in Honey Grove, TX to John and Addie McCollum Dennis and passed away Monday, March 12, 2012 in Keithville, LA. She had been a resident of Cotton Valley for 60 years, was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cotton Valley and was a Beautician for 30 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Verna W. Allen and husband, James L. of Shreveport, LA; four grandchildren, Stella Allen, Shelly Gordy and husband, Tim, Chris Wallace, Cody Wallace; nine great grandchildren; sister, Vivian Mitchell of Cotton Valley and brother, Talmadge Dennis and wife, Betty of Cotton Valley, LA.
Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Vernon Wallace, Warren Jones and a son, Dennis Wallace.

Mrs. Lawson was born on September 21, 1926 to H. C. and Alma Abbott Collins in Belleville, AR and passed away on December 26, 2011 in Bossier City, LA. She was a member of the Springhill United Pentecostal Church and was a homemaker.
She is survived by her two sons, Larry Lawson, Billy Lawson and wife, Danielle, all of Springhill, LA; daughter, Deborah Northcutt and husband, Richard of Bastrop, LA; eight grandchildren, Scott Powell, Alex Lawson, Casey Lawson, all of Springhill, LA, Zachary Lawson of Haughton, LA, Jessica Smith of Tucson, AZ, Erin Edmonson of Monroe, LA, Kristin Thomas of Denham Springs, LA, Michael Northcutt of San Diego, CA; three step-grandchildren, Jimmy Wiley of Springhill, LA, Marilyn Pearce of Little Rock, AR, Melody Coker of Addison, TX; numerous great-grandchildren; two sisters, Wanda Cox, Jean Long, both of Shreveport, LA and daughter-in-law, Betsy Lawson.
Mrs. Lawson was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Willie L. Lawson; son, Bobby N. Lawson; brothers, James Collins, Leon Collins, Don Collins and sister, Bonnie Meek.
Serving as pallbearers will be Scott Powell, Alex Lawson, Casey Lawson, Zachary Lawson, Michael Northcutt and Jimmy Wiley. Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Collins, Jimmy Porterfield, Randy Collins, Randy Meek, Jr and Matt Miller.
