Graveside services for Maxine P. Flowers, a Shreveport resident, will be held on Thursday, Dec. 13th, 2012 at 2p.m.in Old Town Cemetery with Rev. Chuck Christenson officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Haynesville, LA

Mrs. Flowers was born in Rayville, LA on Aug. 5, 1924 and died Dec. 9th, 2012. She was a long time resident of Shreveport, LA and was preceded by her beloved husband, James Raymond Flowers and her mother, Essie Geuin Boothe and father, L.E. Payne.

Maxine is survived by her two sons, Steven Arthur Flowers and Raymond Keith Flowers of Dallas Texas; her beloved brother, Ewell Payne; her nieces and nephews from Lafayette, LA and her grandchildren.

Robert Lee Goss

January 24, 1928 - April 3, 2012

Funeral services for Mr. Robert Lee Goss, age 84, will be held Friday, April 6, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the United Pentecostal Church, Springhill, LA with Rev. Dewey Bass and Rev. Jason Avant officiating. Interment will follow in Welcome Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.

Visitation will be held at the United Pentecostal Church, Springhill, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Mr. Goss was born January 24, 1928 in Coushatta, LA to Charlie Clarence and Magie Lee Frame Goss and passed from this world Tuesday, April 3, 2012 in Bossier City to be with his precious Lord. He was a faithful member of the First United Pentecostal Church where he had served on the church board for many years and was retired from International Paper Company with 40 years of service.

He is survived by his children, Mike Goss and wife, Carolyn of Bossier City, LA, Johnny Goss and wife, Sara of Vivian, LA, Sandra Rogers of Springhill, LA, Steve Goss of Homer, LA, Pam Witcher and husband, Jay of Knoxville, TN, Joyce Godwin and husband, Gary of Shreveport, LA; twelve grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Hogg and husband, Elgin of Bossier City, LA, Rachel Cox and husband, Douglas of McGhee, AR, Alice Coker of Tullos, LA; brother, Charles Goss and wife, Joy of Bossier, City, LA and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Goss was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 58 years, Mary Ruth Cummings Goss; daughter, Brenda Goss; sister, Margaret Goss Edwards; son-in-law, Ronnie Rogers and grandson, Jordan Witcher.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jamie Rogers, Jared Goss, Chad Goss, Joel Witcher, Steven Sandlin and Jay Witcher.

Ross Alfred Gibbs

December 30, 1933 - November 6, 2012

Graveside services for Mr. Ross Alfred Gibbs, age 78, will be held Friday, November 9, 2012 at 10:30 AM in Liberty Hill Cemetery #2, Arcadia, LA with Rev. Pete Tolbert officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.

Mr. Gibbs was born December 30, 1933 in Danville, LA to Merrell Alfred and Angeline Domanski Gibbs and passed away November 6, 2012 in Springhill, LA.

He is survived a step-sister, Virginia Rodger of Springhill and a number of nieces and nephews.

Elton Vaughan

August 9, 1928 - July 6, 2012

Plain Dealing, LA - Funeral services for Elton Vaughan, age 83, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, July 8, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church of Plain Dealing with Dr. John Braden and Bro. John Downs officiating. Burial will be in the Plain Dealing Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Plain Dealing, LA.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Saturday at Bailey Funeral Home.

Mr. Vaughan was born August 9, 1928 in Emerson, AR to Gus and Bertha Sewell Vaughan and died Friday, July 6, 2012 in Bossier City, LA. He was a lifelong resident of this area and a member of the First United Methodist Church where he served as tireless worker and a lifelong usher. He was a member of the VFW Honor Guard in Bossier City and the VFW in Plain Dealing and was a veteran of the US Army having served in the Korean Conflict. Elton will be remembered for his delicious pies, summer gardens and many family and friend get-togethers and his weekly domino games. He is preceded in death by his parents, a number of brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Lila Gore Vaughan of Plain Dealing, LA with whom they celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on June 26, 2012; son, Gregg Vaughan and wife, Phyllis of Benton, LA; daughters, Cynthia Thrift and husband, Wayne of Bossier City, LA; Karen Allen and husband, Larry “Boo-Boo” Allen, Jr. of Sarepta, LA; a special niece that he loved like a daughter, Gloria Strayhan and husband, Rodger of Plain Dealing, LA; grandchildren, Lane McKenzie, Katie Traweek and husband, Beau, Dalton Vaughan and Justin Allen; sister, Lois Flores and a number of nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dudley Vaughan, Rodger Strayhan, Pat Goodman, Steve Kimbrell, Ron Coleman and Cade McInnis. Honorary pallbearers will be George McCalman and Leavy Nugent.

Thomas Glynn Keeth

August 29, 1939 - October 13, 2012

Greenwood, LA - The family will be receiving friends in memory of their husband, father, brother, grandfather and uncle on Thursday, November 8, 2012 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Bailey Funeral Home, Plain Dealing, LA.

Mr. Keeth was born on August 29, 1939 to Henry Ford and Doris Everret Keeth at Plain Dealing, LA and died on Saturday, October 13, 2012 in Shreveport, LA. He was a resident of the Bossier City and Shreveport areas for most of his life and was a member of the Baptist Faith. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture at Northwestern State University and was employed as an instructor at BPCC teaching Science. He also worked with Ralston Purina Company, Genstar Roofing Corp. and Zenith Goldine Pharmaceuticals.

He is survived by his wife, Ann McGuire Keeth of Shreveport, LA; daughters, Kim Usie and husband, Barry of Greenwood, LA; Kandace Berg of Bossier city, LA; grandchildren, Jordan, Cody and John Wesley Usie; Matthew Bennett, Brandon Bennett and Brook Berg; brother, Henry Keeth and wife, Fran of Houston, TX; and nephew, Russell Keeth. He is preceded in death by his father, Henry "Fordie" Keeth on November 1, 2002 and his mother, Doris Everret Keeth on December 10, 2005.

The family wanted to thank Mr. Bihm, Penny Teagle and all of the nurses and nurses' aide at the Guest House for making our dad's last few years and especially the last few weeks, the best they could be.

Hildridge Godwin Burch

April 16, 1922 - November 3, 2012

Funeral services for Mrs. Hildridge Godwin Burch, age 90, will be held at 10:30 am, Tuesday, November 6, 2012, at the Central Baptist Church, Springhill, LA, with Rev. Tim Everett officiating, assisted by Rev. David Harrell. Interment will follow in Springhill Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.

Visitation will be held Monday, November 5, 2012 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.

Mrs. Burch was born on April 16, 1922 to David and Delma Finlay Godwin at Reidheimer, LA and passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2012 in Springhill, LA. She was a faithful member of Central Baptist where she served in many capacities. She loved quilting, crocheting and was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.

Mrs. Burch is survived by two daughters, Debbie Watson and her husband, Ronnie of Springhill, LA, Sherri Brasher and her husband, Don of Vidalia, LA; son, Eddy Burch and his wife Zhanell of Dayton, TX; six grandchildren, Casey Watson and his wife, Kristal of Springhill, LA, Amy Bordovsky and her husband, Jon of Pasadena, TX, Darcy Heard and her husband, Justin of Webster, TX, Brennan Burch and wife Cara of Pearland, TX, Renn Brasher of Lisbon, LA, Russ Brasher of Ruston, LA; sister, Kate Mathews of Bossier City, LA; and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Burch was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Hayden Burch and several siblings.

Pallbearers will be Casey Watson, Brennan Burch, Renn Brasher, Russ Brasher, Robbie O'Neal, and Mark O'Neal .

Graveside services for Joyce Ruth Forcht Payne, age 65, will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, February 5th in the Old Town Cemetery, Haynesville, LA under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Haynesville, LA.

Mrs. Payne was born September 2, 1946 in Louisville, KY to Martin Luther and Elaine Chandler Forcht, Jr and passed away February 1, 2012 in Fort Smith, AR. She was a resident of Fort Smith, was of the Assembly of God faith and a Medical Transcriptionist for St. Edward Mercy Medical Center.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald Lucas Payne of Fort Smith, AR ; sister, Paula Menchue of Jonesboro, LA and brother, Richard Forcht of Shreveport, LA.
