MAURICE DILLON
AMITE -- Maurice Dillon, 61, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 2004, at her home.
She is survived by a brother, Alphone Dillon of Fluker.
Her parents, Earl and Olivia Dillon; and a brother, Earl Dillon, preceded her in death.
The Rev. Francis Williams will conduct the funeral this afternoon at 3 at Richardson Funeral Home, Amite, and burial will be in Butler Cemetery, Amite.
WILBERT M. IRVING JR.
AMITE -- Wilbert M. Irving Jr., 82, died Friday, Sept. 17, 2004 at Tangi Pines Nursing Home
He was a native of Roseland.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbert Irving Sr. and Dora C. Irving; five sisters, Ora Bell Irving Williams, Lois E. Irving Perry, Irene A. Irving Watson Turner, Gloria L. Irving and Leontyne Irving.
The Rev. John Mabry conducted the funeral this morning at Big Zion AME Zion Church, and burial was in Big Zion Cemetery.
JOSEPHINE HOLLAND POCHE
PONCHATOULA -- Josephine Holland Poche, 96, died Monday, Sept. 20, 2004, at Belle Maison Nursing Home, Hammond.
She is survived by two sons, Willis Poche of Hammond and Merlin Poche of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George B. Poche; her parents, Edward Sr. and Christina Adler Holland; two sons, Eskar L. "Ike" Poche and Lynest G. Poche; three brothers and three sisters.
Visitation will be Wednesday at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula from 9 a.m. until the funeral at 11. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.
JILEY EMILE RICHARDSON
PONCHATOULA -- Jiley Emile Richardson, 94, a native of Corbin, died Friday, Sept. 17, 2004.
He was retired from the Navy and the U. S. government and was a lifelong member of Masonic Lodge 369 in South Carolina.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Kathe E. Richardson; and a sister, Helen Richardson Robinson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell R. and Allie Miller Richardson; and two brothers, Kenneth M. Richrdson and Lloyd G. "Sonny" Richardson.
His body was willed to Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 330 W. Pine St., Ponchatoula.
FLORETTA PHILLIPS AYMOND
PONCHATOULA -- Floretta Phillips Aymond, 75, a native of Inman, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2004, at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond.
Survivors include her husband, Louis Aymond Jr.; three sons, Ronnie and Wayne Aymond, both of Ponchatoula, and Jerry Aymond of Wesson, Miss.; two brothers, Gill Phillips of Kansas City, Mo., and Robert Phillips of Kingsport, Tenn.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mamie Falin Phillips and Ray Phillips; two brothers, Ray and Carlos Phillips; and two sisters, Madeline Gann and Ruth Chapman.
Visitation will be Tuesday at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Ponchatoula, from 6 to 10 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 a.m. until the funeral at 10.
Burial will be at Sandhill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ponchatoula Lions Club, 750 E. Pine St., Ponchatoula, LA 70454.
EUGENE WILLIE MCCRORY
PONCHATOULA -- Eugene Willie McCrory, 80, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2004, at his sister's house.
He is survived by his sister, Sylvia M. Anthony of Ponchatoula.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Huey and Telsead Henry McCrory; two sisters, Violet M. Rolling and Bessie McCrory; and four brothers, Henry "Buddy" McCrory, Alfred "Woo-Woo"McCrory, Leo McCrory and Robert "Rip" McCrory.
The Rev. Jimmy Wall conducted the funeral today, and burial was at Ponchatoula Cemetery.
Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home was in charge.
VICTOR M. PECO
INDEPENDENCE -- Victor M. Peco, 67, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2004, at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond.
A native of Hammond, he was a U.S. Army veteran and a welder. He was a member of St. Joseph Society of Independence.
He is survived by two sons, Marvin C. and Victor M. Peco Jr., both of Independence; one brother, Luke Peco of Chicago; and two grandchildren.
His wife, Lena Garafola Peco; his father, Marion Peco; his mother, Gertrude D. Peco; and one brother, Salvador Peco, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be tonight at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 6 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 8 to 10:10 a.m. The Rev. Paul McDuffie will conduct the funeral at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, Independence, at 10:30 a.m.
Burial will be at Colonial Mausoleum, Independence.
ZULA MARIE BROWN WALL
Retired dairy farmer Zula Marie Brown Wall, 79, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2004, at Hood Memorial Hospital, Amite.
A native of Tangipahoa, she was a member and Sunday School teacher of Chesbrough Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Ivy Wall of Wilmer and Robert Nelson Wall of Spring Creek; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Kelly Brown of Gonzales and Virgil Brown of Luling.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivy Wallace Wall Sr.; two sisters, Dekie Brown Hyde and Maxine Brown Ricks; one brother, Clifton Brown; and her parents, William and Alma Dillon Brown.
Visitation will be today at McKneely Funeral Home, Kentwood, from 6 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until 1:40 p.m. The funeral will be at 2 at Chesbrough Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. John Gibson and the Rev. Matt Pearson.
Burial will be at Mixon Cemetery, Tangipahoa.
CLEVELAND EUGENE BUTLER
BOONEVILLE, Miss. -- Cleveland Eugene Butler, 58, died Monday, Nov. 1, 2004, at Baptist Memorial Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita Davis Butler; his son, Cleveland Wade of Atlanta; his daughters, Sabrina Southward, Joni McGee and Shirkesha Gilbert, all of Milwaukee; his sister, Rose Henderson of Houston; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his adoptive parents, Cleveland and Hazel Butler; his mother, Nettie Lindsey; and a brother, Archie Cleveland III.
Visitation will be tonight at Patterson Memorial Chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. The Rev. O.J. Salters will conduct the funeral Thursday at St. Rest Baptist Church at 2 p.m., and burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Patterson Memorial Chapel is in charge.
JOSHUA PAUL HEMPHILL
SPRINGFIELD -- Joshua Paul Hemphill, 20, died Monday, Nov. 1, 2004, at Meadowcrest Hospital, Gretna, as a result of a work related accident.
He was a pipefitter.
Survivors include his wife, Leslie Pedigo Hemphill of Springfield; his parents, Carol Lynn and Jimmy Palmer of Springfield; a brother, Austin Lamar Palmer of Springfield; his maternal grandparents, Lendell "Landry" and James Hemphill of Springfield; and his paternal grandparents, Jerrie and Shirley "Mitchell" Palmer of Hammond.
Visitation will be Thursday at Geisler Funeral Home in Ponchatoula from 6 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 8:30 a.m. until the funeral at 10:30. Burial will follow in Springfield Cemetery.
LEROY JOHNSON
RALEIGH, N.C. -- Leroy Johnson , a former resident of Ponchatoula, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2004, in Raleigh.
Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by N.A. James Funeral Home, Hammond.
ANNA NAGY KUHN
ALBANY -- Anna Nagy Kuhn, 90, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004, at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond.
Survivors include four nieces and one nephew.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, John F. Nagy and Julius Nagy Jr.
Burial was Tuesday at St. Margaret Cemetery, Albany.
