RONALD A. LaGRANGE
March 24, 1952 ~ Sept. 26, 2010
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 29, 2010, at 1 p.m., at Ibert’s Mortuary for Mr. Ronald Anthony LaGrange, a native of Brownsville, Texas and a resident of Franklin, who Passed away Sunday, September 26, 2010, at 10:50 p.m., at the Franklin Health Care Center following a lengthy battle with cancer. He was 58.
Burial will follow in the Perpetual Park Cemetery
in Franklin. Father Lloyd Benoit of the Church of the Assumption will conduct the services.
Mr. Ronald is survived by his wife of 32 years, Sandra Duhon LaGrange; one son, Jason Curtis LaGrange; and his mother, Lorena Landry LaGrange, all of Franklin.
He was preceded in death by his father, Curtis LaGrange.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday, September 29, at Ibert’s Mortuary, from 10 a.m. until service time, with the rosary being prayed at 12 p.m.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin.
MOSES LANCELIN
Mr. Moses Lamar Lancelin, 71, a resident and native of Baldwin, died Friday, Oct. 12, 2007, at 5:25 a.m., at his residence following a short illness.
He is survived by three sons, Lamar B. Lancelin of Livingston, Alabama, Bryant Lancelin and Bruce Lancelin, both of Stone Mountain, Georgia; two daughters, Karen Lancelin Tomlinson and Janice A. Lancelin, both of Stone Mountain; a host of grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Mr. Lancelin was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and five brothers.
Visitations and burial rites will be read Wednesday, Oct. 17, at 11 a.m., at the Sacred Heart Cemetery
in Baldwin, with interment following.
The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.
HUBERT WAYNE LANDRUM
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2010, at 2 p.m., at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Sulphur, for Hubert Wayne Landrum, 84, who died on Thursday, February 18, 2010, in New Iberia.
Eric and Leslie Mansell will officiate.
Mr. Landrum was a native of Refugio, Texas and had lived in Sulphur, Louisiana from 1956 to 1972 when he moved to Franklin. He returned to Sulphur in 1997 and most recently to New Iberia. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Marine Corps aboard the carrier USS Essex. He retired from Quintana Petroleum after 42 years of service. Hubert enjoyed playing golf, watching sports and spending time with his family and friends.
Mr. Landrum was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Sulphur. In keeping with his wishes, his body was donated to medical research.
Survivors include his four children, Linda Latiolais and husband, Ken, of Salado, TX; Dr. Steve Landrum and wife, Jodee, of New Iberia; Debi Lauret and husband, Robert, of Franklin; and Leigh Landrum of New Iberia; his four grandchildren, Brian Lauret, Jennifer L. Doiron, Steven Landrum Jr. and Eric Landrum; his two step grandchildren, Monty Latiolais and Cynthia Teran; and his seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Carrie L. Landrum; and his sister, Dorothy O’Riley.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 301 Center Circle, Sulphur, LA 70663 or to a charity of your choice.

LORE ANN SPARROW
Mrs. Lore Ann Haisley Sparrow, 57, a resident and native of Franklin, died Thursday, April 1, 2010, at 8:41 p.m., at Ochsner Medical Center in Jefferson , La. following a short illness.
Visitations will be observed Saturday, April 17, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Mount Horeb Baptist Church in the Oaklawn community.
Burial rites will be read Saturday, at 1 p.m., at that church, with the Rev. James F. Otis officiating. interment will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery.

LUCIUS LASTER JR.
Mr. Lucius Laster Jr., 69, a resident and native of Franklin, died Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at 11:22 p.m., at Franklin Health Care Center following a short illness.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Boatmon Laster of Franklin; one son, Ronald C. Welton Jr. of Modesto, CA; two daughters, Adrianne D. Roberts of Houston, Texas and Marna C. Trujillo of Albuquerque, New Mexico; two brothers, Willie Rack and Harry Johnson of Franklin; one sister, Celia Pierson of Memphis, Tennessee; and two grandchildren.
Mr. Laster was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Visitations will be observed Saturday, May 15, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., at the Otis Mortuary Chapel.
Burial rites will be read Saturday, at 11 a.m., at the mortuary, with the Rev. Preston Watson officiating. interment will follow in the Lutheran Cemetery
in Franklin.

Lawrence Lewis
Lawrence "Mamou" Lewis, 87, a native and resident of Ashton, died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007, at his home following a short illness.
He accepted Christ as his personal savior and was baptised in 1946 by the Rev. Martin Widow at Macedonia Baptist Church in Ashton. He was united in Holy Matrimony to Alberta Collins on Dec. 25, 1948 and was a lifetime member of Macedonia Baptist Church.
In 1949 he was raised as a Mason and received his lifetime membership as a Mason on May 17, 1999. He served as chaplin of Leonidas Lodge No. 29 for many years.
He was actively involved in Macedonia Baptist Church as a deacon, a member of Bible study and prayer services, Sunday school, home mission and other church activities. He was involved in Christian fellowship at various churches in the community.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Milton Thomas, Frank Lewis and Carlton Lewis, and four sisters, Lelia Lewis, Ella Jones, Ora Balka and Maggie Lewis.
He is survived by five daughters, Emily Marsh of Beaumont, Texas , Lillie (Wallace) Gabriel of Houston, Donna Lewis (Joseph) Lanceslin and Leola (Nolan) Chatman, both of Baldwin, and Ada Lewis of Baton Rouge; 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends who accept that his departure is Heaven’s gain.
Visitation will be held at Jones Funeral Home in Franklin, on Monday, Aug. 6, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Tuesday, Aug. 7, at Greater New Hope Baptist Church in Baldwin from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Funeral rites will follow at 11 a.m., with interment in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery
in Ashton. The Rev. Ulysses Mitchell is officiating.

EDITH H. LEWIS
Edith H. Lewis, 92, died Friday, November 27, 2009, at 5:05 p.m., at her residence in Patterson.
Visitations will be Friday, December 4, at Siracusaville Recreation Center, 1110 Grace St., Siracusaville, from 10 a.m. until funeral service at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in the Morgan City Cemetery.
Edith is survived by three sons, James Thorpes of Los Angeles, California, Jack Lewis of Morgan City and Carl Lewis of Patterson; a daughter, Sandi Lewis-Coney of Patterson; a brother, Matthew Hartman of Franklin; a sister, Irma H. White of Morgan City; and 24 grandchildren.

THELMA A. LUSK
Thelma Aguillard Lusk Passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at the age of 90.
Born August 10, 1919 in Morgan City, she was the daughter of the late Mr. George and Mrs. Violet F. Aguillard; the beloved wife of 54 years of the late John B. Lusk; mother of George P. Lusk and the late John B. Lusk; beloved grandmother of John and Matthew Lusk, and the late Zachary Lusk; great-grandmother of Ava Lusk; sister of the late Sadie Aguillard Bodin.
Mrs. Lusk was a longtime resident of Franklin and has been a resident of Slidell since 1983. She was a former officer in the Eastern Star organization and active member of the First United Methodist Church of Slidell.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. West (In Forest Lawn Cemetery), Slidell, on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 6 p.m.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at 1 p.m. in Franklin Cemetery.
CLARENCE MADISE SR.
Clarence Madise Sr., 76, a resident of Franklin and a native of Morgan City, died Friday, December 4, 2009 at Lafayette General Hospital.
Visitations will be at St. Jules Catholic Church in Franklin Saturday, Dec 12, from 8 a.m., a Rosary at 9:30 a.m., with funeral service starting at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
He is survived by five sons, Clarence Madise Jr., Eugene Madise, Corey Madise, all of Houston, Texas , Byron Anderson of Franklin and Rodney Madise of Jeanerette; four daughters, Alfreda M. Harding of Verdunville, Loretta Madise and Rachael Anderson, both of Houston, and Alaina Johnson of Patterson; two sisters, Michelle Butler of Shreveport and Gloria Thomas of Morgan City; 29 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.
