Funeral services for Mrs. Pinky L. Winzer, 70, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, at Mt. Zion C.M.E. Church in Minden with the Rev. E.A. Morris officiating and the Rev. Charlie Coleman II assisting. Burial will follow at Point Pleasant C.M.E. Cemetery under the direction of Kings Funeral Home in Homer.
Family hour will be held from 7 until 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, at the church.
Mrs. Winzer Passed away Jan. 21. She was born to Cloteel Davis Watley Honeycutt and Willis Watley in Union Parish. At an early age, she joined Mt. Tabor Baptist Church and after moving to Minden, she joined Mt. Calm Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir and served on several committees.
She was preceded in death by her father; two brothers, Robert T. and Grover D. Watley.
She is survived by her husband, Charles W. Winzer Sr.; mother; two sons, Willie M. and wife Kimberly of Atlanta, Ga., and Etienna R. Winzer of Tampa, Fla.; one brother, John Watley and wife Mary of Bernice; two granddaughters, Courtney and Adrienne Winzer of Atlanta; special nieces and nephew, Deborah, Kacee and Kelly Watley of Bernice; extended family, Charles W. Winzer Jr. and wife Gwendolyn, Theron W. Winzer and wife Bertha, Pearlie J. Winzer and Janett L. Winzer, Sandra W. Williams and husband Derrick, Kimulet Jasmine Winzer, Elvira Winzer Sykes, Mervell Winzer Bracewell, Lorean Winzer Hankinson, Woodrow Winzer and wife Earnice, Mattereal Winzer and wife Rose, Auteria Winzer and wife Yvonne, Otha T. Watley, Mary Watley, Willie Bell Watley and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Doris Perot Holley
Funeral services for Mrs. Doris Perot Holley, 84, were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, 2002, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden with the Rev. Philip Pazhayakari officiating and the Rev. Carol Heard assisting. Burial followed at Brushwood Cemetery in Dubberly.
Mrs. Holley, a native of Campti and a resident of Heflin, Passed away Saturday, Jan. 19, in Heflin. She was retired from the Louisiana Ordinance Plant and worked with her husband for many years preparing oil and gas leases until his retirement.
She was preceded in death by all her brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her husband, Walter B. Holley, whom she married Dec. 22, 1945; son, Harold Walter Holley and wife Sally of Sibley; two grandchildren, Kelly H. Walraven and husband Brock, and Ken Holley and wife Kristi; and two great-grandchildren, Tyler Walraven and Haidyn Holley.
Pallbearers were Ken Holley, Brock Walraven, James A. Holley, Eddy Cramer, and Joe and Jerry Holley.

Jesse G. New
Graveside services for Mr. Jesse G. New, 89, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, 2002, at New Hope Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Crider officiating. Services were under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Mr. New, a native of Athens and a resident of Minden, Passed away Friday, Jan. 18, in Minden. He was retired from the Air Force and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
He is survived by his sisters, Lorene Sullivan of Minden and Matha Hall of Buena Vista, Ga.

Bluchie Lee Crow
Funeral services are pending for Mr. Bluchie Lee Crow, 78.
Mr. Crow, a former resident of Minden and a resident of Shreveport Passed away, Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2002, following a lengthy illness.
He is survived by his brother, Rogers Crow of Minden and other family members.

John Morgan Jr.
Funeral services for Mr. John Morgan Jr., 76, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2002, at Springhill United Methodist Church with the Rev. Charlie Langford officiating. Services are under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Visitation will be held from 6 until8 p.m. today, Jan. 18, and prior to service time on Saturday, at the funeral home.
Mr. Morgan, a native of New Kensington, Pa., a former resident of Miami, Fla., and a resident of Springhill for the past 17 years, Passed away, Wednesday, Jan. 16, in Springhill. He was a printer for the Miami Herald Newspaper for many years and a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army and U.S. Army Air-Corps and later in the U.S. Navy Reserve. He was a member of the Springhill Masonic Lodge #348 F&AM, Shriner, El Karubah Shrine Temple in Shreveport and the Webster Habitat in Springhill. He was also a member of Springhill United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Jane Kitchens Morgan on Sept. 11, 2001.
He is survived by his sons, John Morgan III of Alexandria, Va., Randall Morgan of Rochell, Ill., and Brent Prescott of Almagorda, N.M.; daughter, Margarette Stout and husband Dan of Springfield, Ill.; special sister-in-law, Margarette Kitchens Yeargin of Springhill; brother, James Morgan and wife Hazel of Harned, Ky.; two granddaughters, nine grandsons; one great-granddaughter; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Barry Nehls, Dr. Charles Payne, Mike Whitlow, Charlie Park, Walter Council, Wade Harvey and John Jackson . Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Ed Shultz Bible Class, Springhill United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Webster Habitat, in care of Charlie park, P.O. Box 155, Springhill, La., 71075; or the Springhill United Methodist Church Organ Fund.

Julius R. Gibson
Funeral services for Julius R. Gibson will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2002, at Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church with Dr. S. Wade Lewis Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Moore Cemetery in Dubberly under the direction of Benevolent Funeral Home in Shreveport.
Visitation will be held from 7 until 8:45 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, at the funeral home.
Mr. Gibson Passed away Saturday, Jan. 12, at LSU Medical Center after a brief illness.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roosevelt and Zetha Gibson.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Whitaker Gibson; six loving children; and 12 grandchildren.

Marie Knotts
Graveside services for Mrs. Marie Knotts, 80, will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2002, at Social Springs Cemetery near Hall Summit with Dr. Morris Robe officiating. Services are under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Visitation will be held from 3 until 10 p.m. today, Jan. 17, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Knotts, a native of Hall Summit and a resident of Ringgold, Passed away Tuesday, Jan. 15. She was a homemaker and a member of Temple Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clint Knotts.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth E. Knotts of Columbia, S.C.; daughter, Sharlet Culverhouse of Helfin; sisters, Rosalie Byrd and Ann Perkins, both of Ringgold; seven grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren.

Willie J. Rabb
Funeral services for Mr. Willie J. Rabb will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2002, at Victory Praise and Worship Center in Minden. Burial will follow at Mooreland Cemetery in Athens under the direction of Benevolent Funeral Home.

Dessie Mingo
Funeral services for Mrs. Dessie Mingo will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2002, at Springhill C.M.E. Church in Ringgold. Burial will follow at Shehee Cemetery in Ringgold under the direction of Benevolent Funeral Home in Minden.
Visitation will be held Friday morning, Jan. 11, with family hour from 10 until 11 a.m.

Mildred Reeves
Funeral services for Mrs. Mildred Williams Reeves (Nana), will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002, at First Baptist Church in Arcadia with the Rev. Jeff Hoffman pastor of First Baptist Church, the Rev. Bob Peyton retired pastor of First Methodist Church in Arcadia, and the Rev. Wayne DuBose, pastor of First Baptist Church Minden officiating. Burial will follow at Arcadia Cemetery under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Arcadia.
Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. today, Jan. 9, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Reeves, a native of Arcadia, Passed away Jan. 7, after a full, happy and victorious life here on this earth. She was born to Maud and Julius Williams of Arcadia, where she grew up and was educated. After graduation from Arcadia High School, she attended Louisiana Tech and graduated with a bachelor of science in education in 1936. She spent the rest of her life educating children in both Claiborne and Bienville Parishes. She was greatly loved by her many students whose lives she touched over the years.
On Jan. 23, 1940, Mrs. Reeves was married to Joseph Albert Reeves Jr., of Lake Charles. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Arcadia where she was a faithful member for many, many years. She served the church as a Sunday school teacher, WMU leader, and served on many different committees through the years.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 29 years in January 1969.
She is survived by her son, Steve Reeves and wife Becky of Houston, Texas ; daughter, Midge Reeves Woodard and husband John Marshall of Minden; seven grandchildren, John Marshall Woodard Jr. of Shreveport, Jonie Woodard Despot of Birmingham, Ala., Matthew Woodard of Shreveport, Jason Woodard of Houston, Trey Reeves of Kingwood, Texas , Jeremy Reeves of Austin, Texas , and Jodi Reeves Boatwright of Austin; five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Marshall Woodard, Matthew Woodard, Jason Woodard, Chris Despot, Trey Reeves, Jeremy Reeves, and Caj Boatwright and nephews Randy Ewing and Terry Ewing.

Lorene A. Taylor
Funeral services for Mrs. Lorene A. Taylor will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2002, at Pine Grove Baptist Church in Ada Taylor . Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery under the direction of Benevolent Funeral Home in Minden.
Family hour will be held from 6 until 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, at the funeral home.

Annie Cox Pagan
Funeral services for Mrs. Annie Cox Pagan, 89, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002, at Minden Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Don Brown officiating. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 10 p.m. today, Jan. 7, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Pagan, a native of Pritchet, Texas , and a resident of Minden, Passed away Saturday, Jan. 5, in Shreveport after a short illness.
She was the oldest active member of Minden Presbyterian Church. Everyone knew her as Miss Annie or Granny. She loved her grandchildren very much. She was also a retired nurse with 35 years of service and was a graduate of St. Francis Sanitarium School of Nursing in 1932, working in the Morehouse General Hospital in Bastrop. She was a nursing supervisor and retired as industrial nurse with International Paper Co. in 1976.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Pagan, on Feb. 24, 1987; parents, Harmon A. and Martha Compton Cox; brother, Claude Cox; and sisters, Clydia Coats and Cloy Dell Thompson.
She is survived by a son, Perry Harmon Pagan and wife Sylvia of Quitman; daughters, Mary Jane Dillard of Baton Rouge and Adelia P. Gardner and husband James of Minden; sister, Geneva Garnet of Leesville; grandchildren, Becky Johnson and husband Johnny; Darren Gardner and wife Theresa, all of Minden, Amy Manco and husband Paul of Bossier City, Jim Dillard of West Monroe, Nikki D. Smith and husband Mike of McKinney, Texas , Perry Wayne Pagan and wife Cindy of Bossier City; 10 great-grandchildren; one nephew and several nieces.
Pallbearers will be Irby Perkins, Russ Perkins, Jim Hancock, Curtis Belton, Raul Tullos and Travis Tullos. Honorary pallbearers will be the elders of Minden Presbyterian Church.

Earnest Bradley
Funeral services for Mr. Earnest Bradley, 80, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2002, at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church in Minden. Burial will follow at Allen Cemetery in Minden under the direction of Benevolent Funeral Home in Minden.
Visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 4, with family hour from 6 until 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
Mr. Bradley, a resident of Minden, Passed away Thursday, Dec. 27, at Minden Medical Center, following a period of illness and hospitalization. He was a World War II veteran.
He is survived by two sons, Charles and Emmett Bradley of Lynwood, Calif.; and one daughter, Bonnie Bradley Lewis of Hertford, N.C.; nine grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

O’dell Daniel
Funeral services for Mr. O’dell Daniel, 68, will be held at noon, Saturday, June 8, 2002, at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church in Dubberly with Dr. S. Wade Lewis officiating. Services are under the direction of Miller-Pioneer Funeral Home in Minden.
Visitation will be held at 11 a.m. prior to services at the church.
Mr. Daniel, a resident of Detroit, Mich., Passed away Friday, May 31, in Detroit.
He is survived by his wife Rosa Jane Daniel of Detroit; mother, Elnora Daniel of Dubberly; daughters, Gwendolyn Faye Lee, Uda Goodman, Yvette Daniel, all of Detroit; sons, Larry Morgan of Ohio, Erick Daniel of Dallas, Texas ; three sisters, two brothers; eight grandchildren.

Helena Elshout
Funeral services for Mrs. Helena Elshout, 83, will be held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden. Time of services and visitation are pending. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Minden.
Mrs. Elshout, a resident of Minden, Passed away this morning, June 7, at her residence. She was a Catholic and a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Elshout.
She is survived by five children, Martin Elshout and wife Kakie, Jerry Elshout and wife Mary, Maria Powell and husband Alan, Tommy Elshout and wife Juanita and Mike Elshout and wife Jan; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Sharon Hightower
Memorial services for Ms. Sharon “Sherry” Hightower, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 8, 2002. Services are under the direction of Magnolia Funeral Home in Shreveport.
Ms. Hightower Passed away Wednesday, June 5. She was born March 31, 1941. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Dessie Gourd; nephew, Clyde Roberts Maxson; and brother, Dennis Pendergraft.
She is survived by her sons, Robert W. Anderson of Oklahoma , Jonathan McCaleb and wife Delores of West Monroe; daughters, Susan Wood and husband Pete of Oklahoma , and Sherriel McCaleb of Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Crystal Stanford and husband Elgie, Johnni and Justin McCaleb, all of Minden, Melanie Clower and Jeremy Clower and wife Janna of West Monroe; three great-grandchildren, Baillie and Reagan Stanford of Minden, and Jayden Shipley of West Monroe; sister, Janice Culpepper and husband Barry of Ringgold; brother, Venson Gourd of California and numerous nieces and nephews.
