PUTNAM -- Anita Lajeunesse, 76, formerly of Van den Noort St., died Thursday, Jan. 31, at Westview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Dayville, Conn.

She leaves four nephews, Michael Lajeunesse of Putnam, Marlin J. Lajeunesse of Bolton, Carl A. Lajeunesse of Coventry, Conn., and John Geddes of Troy, N.Y.; two nieces, Marianne Guillot of South Killingly, Conn., and Karen Davenport of Clifton Park, N.Y. A sister, Theresa Geddes, a brother, Eugene Lajeunesse, and a niece, Marilyn Patten predeceased her. She was born in Putnam, daughter of Emil and Aurore (Dupre) Lajeunesse, and lived in the Albany, N.Y., area, before moving back to Putnam in 1987.

Miss Lajeunesse was a senior clerk with the New York State Income Tax Department for 28 years, retiring in 1987. She previously had worked for Belding Hemmingway in Putnam and Cluett-Peabody in Troy, N.Y. She was a member of St. Mary Church of the Visitation and Quinnatisset Country Club. She was an avid reader.

A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, in St. Mary Church of the Visitation, 218 Providence St. There are no calling hours. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Putnam. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's School Development Fund, 23 Marshall St., Putnam, CT 06260. Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove St., is directing arrangements.

Julia B. Lanman, 80

LEXINGTON -- Julia B. (Crawford) Lanman, 80, of 3 Whitman Circle, formerly of Dudley, died Thursday, Jan. 31, in Meadow Green Nursing Center, Waltham, after an illness. Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School St., Webster, is directing funeral arrangements, which are incomplete.

Theresa L. L'Ecuyer, 71
Sunday, January 27, 2002

FITCHBURG -- Theresa L. (Guertin) L'Ecuyer, 71, of 50 Day St., died Friday, Jan. 25, in the Highlands after an illness.

She leaves four sons, William C. Green Jr., Edmund J. Green, Raymond L. L'Ecuyer and Joseph L. L'Ecuyer, all of Fitchburg; two daughters, Deborah Vallicre of Melbourne, Fla. and Lisa L. L'Ecuyer of Fitchburg; a sister, Irene Allard of Melbourne; 13 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and nephews and nieces. She was born in Fitchburg, daughter of Henry J. and Cecile (Demario) Guertin, and lived her entire life here.

Mrs. L'Ecuyer worked at the former Foster Grant Co., Leominster, and the former Lenny's Grille. She was a longtime member of St, Francis of Assisi Church.

The funeral mass will be held at a later date in St. Francis of Assisi Church. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ramp Fund of St. Francis of Assisi Rectory, c/o Gerald Dorais, 63 Sheridan St., Fitchburg, MA 01420. Lavery-Chartrand Funeral Home, 99 Summer St., is directing arrangements.

Lempi M. Lindsay, 95

WORCESTER -- Lempi M. (Hakala) Lindsay, 95, of 6G Wachusett St., died Thursday, Jan. 31, in Lutheran Home of Worcester.

Her husband, Robert Lindsay, died in 1976. She leaves several nephews and nieces. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Herman and Saima (Wickstrom) Hakala, and graduated from Worcester Girls Trade High School.

Mrs. Lindsay was an inspector for the Vellumoid Co. for 25 years, retiring many years ago.

She was a member of the former Faith Lutheran Church, and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 4, at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery. Calling hours will be held 10:30 to 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 4, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lutheran Home of Worcester, 26 Harvard St., Worcester, MA 01609.

Elizabeth A. Lindsey, 71

Eugenia G. Lisciotti, 86

LEOMINSTER -- Eugenia G. (Pollastri) Lisciotti, 86, of 17 Florence St., died Monday, Feb. 4, in the Highlands after an illness.

Her husband of 58 years, Henry P. Lisciotti, died in 1998. She leaves three sons, Henry P. Lisciotti of Leominster, Robert A. Lisciotti of Sunderland and Gary J. Lisciotti of Leominster; two daughters, Rita J. Calatrava of Boca Raton, Fla. and Anna M. Johns of Leominster; a brother, Luigi Pollastri of Leominster; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. A brother, Antonio Pollastri of Leominster, died in 1975. A sister, Mary Pollastri of Leominster, died in 1985. Another sister, Florence Pollastri of Leominster, died in 1995. She was born in Leominster, daughter of Guiseppe and Francesca (Caruso) Pollastri. She graduated from Leominster High School in 1933.

Mrs. Lisciotti worked at Tucker Housewares for 35 years, retiring in 1981. She was a member of St. Anna's Church where she was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne. She enjoyed crocheting, traveling baking and doing crossword puzzles.

The funeral will be held Thursday, Feb. 7, from the M.A. Simard and Son Funeral Home, 14 Walker St., with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Anne's Church, 194 Lancaster St. Burial will be in St. Leo's Cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Anna's Church Restoration Fund, 194 Lancaster St., Leominster, MA 01453 or can be left at the funeral home.

Angelina Marino, 96
Thursday, January 31, 2002

MILFORD -- Angelina (Zicconi) Marino, 96, of Milford, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, in Upton Nursing Center.

Her husband, Joseph R. Marino, died in 1990. She leaves two sons, Joseph Marino of Peabody and Robert Marino of Uxbridge; a daughter, Lorraine Marino of Milford; a brother, James Zicconi of Somerville; a sister, Theresa Zenna of Everett; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was born in East Boston, daughter of John and Francesca (Grillo) Zicconi, and lived in East Boston and Brighton before moving to Milford in 1972. She was educated in East Boston schools.

Mrs. Marino worked at Schaffe's Candy Factory, Boston, and volunteered at Milford schools.

The graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, in Puritan Lawn Cemetery, Peabody. Calling hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, in Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home, 46 Water St.

Joseph T. Martowski

WARE -- Joseph T. Martowski, 83, of 21 Shady Path, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, at home.

His wife, Isabella J. (Rafalska) Martowski, died in 1988. He leaves two sons, Stanley Martowski of Palmer and Joseph Martowski of Ware; three daughters, Ann Liu of Brookline, N.H., Joan Sporbert of Brookfield and Jean Wojcik of East Brookfield; a sister, Helen Kutt of West Brookfield; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was born in Ware, son of Stanley and Mary (Zieminski) Martowski, and graduated from Ware High School in 1937.

Mr. Martowski worked in the construction and maintenance trades, retiring in 1981. He also worked for are textile companies. He was a member of St. Mary's Church. He enjoyed nature, writing poetry and wildflowers.

The funeral will be held Saturday, Feb. 9, from Cebula Funeral Home, 66 South St., with Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 60 South St. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, in the funeral home.

Otto J. Marttinen, 84; Finnish Army veteran

FITCHBURG -- Otto J. Marttinen, 84, of 1291 Ashby State Road, a retired carpenter, died Thursday, Jan. 31, in HealthAlliance Leominster Hospital after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 55 years, Taimi (Sjoholm) Marttinen; two daughters, Ritva A. Rantala and Helen I. Alden, both of Ashby; a brother in Finland; four sisters in Finland; four grandchildren; a great-grandson; nephews and nieces. He was born in Kangasniemi, Finland, son of Otto and Hilja (Penttinen) Marttinen, and moved to the Fitchburg area in 1948. He was a decorated Finnish Army veteran, serving in the Winter War of 1939 and the Continuation War of 1941.

Mr. Marttinen was a carpenter with the Carpenters Union Local 107, retiring in 1980. He was a member of Fitchburg Sportsman's Club and Fitchburg Road and Gun Club.

The memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, in Elm Street Congregational Church, 264 Elm St. Burial will be in West Cemetery, Ashby, in the spring. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Elm Street Congregational Church Memorial Fund, 264 Elm St., Fitchburg, MA 01420. Aubuchon-Moorcroft Funeral Home, 132 Woodland St., is directing arrangements.

Beatrice M. Mathews

NORTHBRIDGE -- Beatrice M. (Bilodeau) Mathews, 77, of Union Street, Linwood section of Northbridge, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, in Beaumont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, after an illness.

She leaves a daughter, Priscilla G. Pellerin of Northbridge; a brother, Lucien Bilodeau in California; seven sisters, Doris Boucher of South Hadley, Pauline Gelinas and Madeline Finn, both in California, Loretta Dumont in Vermont, Claire Kenedak of Worcester, Jeannette Beaupre of Northbridge and Yvette Campo of Douglas; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was born in Uxbridge, daughter of Gaudias and Audelie (Lacroix) Bilodeau, and lived most of her life in Linwood. She attended Northbridge schools.

Mrs. Mathews was a machine operator for 15 years at Ethyl Molding Co. in South Grafton, retiring in 1992. She was a member of St. Peter's Church.

The funeral will be held Saturday, Feb. 2, from Jackman Funeral Home, 12 Spring St., Whitinsville, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Peter's Church, 39 Church Ave. Burial will be at a later date in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Beaumont Nursing Home Activities Fund, 85 Beaumont Drive, Northbridge, MA 01534.

(Bilodeau) Mathews, 77, of Union Street, Linwood, who died Wednesday, Jan. 30, in Beaumont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center after an illness, will be held Saturday, Feb. 2, from Jackman Funeral Home, 12 Spring St., Whitinsville, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Peter's Church, 39 Church Ave. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery at a later date. Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, in the funeral home.

Donations may be made to the Beaumont Nursing Home Activities Fund, 85 Beaumont Drive, Northbridge, MA 01534. She leaves a daughter, Priscilla G. Linnea J. Peterson, 90

WORCESTER -- Linnea J. (Johnson) Peterson, 90, a resident of the Life Care Center, Auburn, formerly of Spofford Road, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, in UMass Memorial Medical Center -- Memorial Campus.

Her husband of 58 years, Edmund F. Peterson, died in 1995. She leaves a son, Donald M. Peterson of Upton; a daughter, Gail J. Falkengren Stearns of Auburn; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; a step-great-grandchild; nephews and nieces. She was born in Worcester, daughter of John and Johanna C. (Erickson) Johnson, and lived here most of her life.

Mrs. Peterson was a homemaker. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church and its Dorcas Society and Mission Society, and was a 50-year member of the choir. She also taught Sunday school at the church.

The memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, in Emanuel Lutheran Church, 200 Greenwood St. Burial will be at the family's convenience in All Faiths Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The family requests that flowers be omitted. Memorial contributions may be made to the Emanuel Lutheran Church Organ Fund, 200 Greenwood St., Worcester, MA 01607. Lindquist-Lundin Funeral Home, 36 Butler St., is directing arrangements.

BARRE -- Nico Ramsey, infant son of David A. and Anne C. (Darling) Ramsey, of 11 Grove St., South Barre, died Wednesday, Jan. 30 in UMass Memorial Medical Center -- Memorial Campus, Worcester.

Besides his parents, he leaves four brothers, Anthony D., Angelo J., Gino C.C., and Vinny A. Ramsey, all of South Barre; two sisters, Danielle M. Darling and Xena A. Ramsey, both of South Barre; her maternal grandparents, Clifford R. and Beverly A. (Pane) Darling of Barre; paternal grandparents, Thomas J. and Carol A. (Lyons) Ramsey of Brookfield; and his paternal great-grandmother, Beverly Ramsey of Leicester.

Private graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 4, in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. There are no calling hours. Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden, is directing arrangements.
