SPENCER- LeRoy F. Crozier, 75, of 55 Grove St., a World War II veteran, died Saturday March 30, in the Jewish Healthcare Center in Worcester, after a short illness.

His wife, Barbara J. (Bousquet) Crozier, died in 1999. He leaves a son, Steven P. Crozier of Spencer; a daughter, Patricia J. Dufault of Spencer; a sister, Lillian Plouffe of Glendale, Ariz.; four grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; nieces and nephews. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific. He was born in Spencer, son of Frank and Irene (Pollard) Crozier, and lived here all of his life.

Mr. Crozier was a truck driver for 30 years for Atlas Distributors in Auburn, retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Gaudette-Kirk American Legion Post 138, and the Teamsters Local 170 in Worcester.

The funeral will be held Tuesday, April 2, from J. Henri Morin & Son Funeral Home, 23 Maple Terr., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 60 Maple St. Burial will be in Mary, Queen of the Rosary Cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 1, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Spencer Rescue Squad, PO Box 147, Spencer, MA 01562.

Richard W. Cunha, 78

THOMPSON- Richard W. Cunha, 78, of North Grosvenordale, died Friday, March 29, at home.

His wife, Doris (Charron) Cunha, died in 1991. He leaves three sons, William Cunha of Putnam, Kirby Cunha of Thompson, and Richard Cunha of South Grafton; a daughter, Barbara Cunha of Webster; four sisters, Agnes Howard of Columbus, Ga., Julia Mahon of Thompson, Margaret Bibek of North Grosvenordale and Madeline Welch of Putnam; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. A son, Philip Cunha, two brothers, Ulysses "Frank" Cunha and John Cunha, and a sister, Frances Carroll, predeceased him. He was born in Phenix City, Ala., son of Frank C. and Ferol A. (Smith) Cunha.

Mr. Cunha was an inspector for the state Department of Motor Vehicles, retiring many years ago.

He was a charter member of the Valley Spring Sportman's Club and Oscar W. Swanson American Legion Post 67 in Grosvenordale. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus, St. Bernard Council in North Grosvenordale.

The funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 28, in St. Joseph Church, 18 Main St., North Grosvenordale. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of North East Connecticut, PO Box 632, Putnam, CT 06260. Valade Funeral Home, 23 Main St., North Grosvernordale, is directing arrangements.

THOMPSON- The funeral Mass for Richard W. Cunha, 78, of North Grosvenordale, who died Friday, March 29, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 4, in St. Joseph Church, 18 Main St., North Grosvenordale. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. There are no calling hours.

Andrew Davis, 42

WORCESTER -- Andrew "Bad Boy" Davis, 42, of 112 Eastern Ave., died Wednesday, March 27, in UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus.

He leaves his wife, Darlene (Bailey) Davis; three daughters, Juanita, Octavia and Tenaha Bailey, all of Worcester; four brothers, Leo Davis of Worcester, Johnnie Davis of Monticello, N.Y., Rev. Frank Davis and Matthew Davis, both of Brookfield, Fla.; seven sisters, Lizzie, Annie, and Willie Ann Davis and Leola Carter, all of South Falsburg, N.Y., Annie May Norfleet and Dora Williams, both of Uniontown, Ala. and Mary Chambers of Newton, Ala.; and nine grandchildren. He was born in Uniontown, son of Andrew and Jessie L. Davis Geter, and had lived here for 15 years.

Mr. Davis worked for the Scola Construction Company.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, in Emmanuel Baptist Church, 717 Main St. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Calling period is 9:30 to 11 a.m., April 3, in the church. Graham-Putnam & Mahoney Funeral Parlors, 838 Main St., is directing arrangements.

Gertrude W. Dean, 78

LEOMINSTER- Gertrude W. (Storm) Dean, 78, of 43 Laurie Drive, died Thursday, March 28, in St. Joseph's Hospital in Nashua, N.H., after an illness. Wright-Roy Funeral Home, 109 West St., is directing funeral arrangements, which are incomplete.

LEOMINSTER- Gary F. DeBettencourt, 46, of 11 First Ave., died Sunday, March 24, in UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus, after a long illness.

He leaves his mother, Elaine F. (Kennedy) DeBettencourt of Leominster; a brother, Glenn L. DeBettencourt of Bondsville; five sisters, Gail E. Frechette and Terry E. Arroyo, both of Fitchburg, Penny G. Godin of Leominster, Karen F. Booth of Orono, Maine and Kelly A. Goodwin of Northfield; nieces and nephews. He was born in Leominster, son of Fred W. and Elaine F. (Kennedy) DeBettencourt.

Mr. DeBettencourt was a cook at Westwinds Club in Fitchburg, retiring because of illness. He was a member of Assembly of God Church and the Westwinds Club in Fitchburg.

Funeral services and burial will be private. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 1330 Peachtree St., Atlanta, GA 30309. Silas F. Richardson & Son Inc., 106 West St., is directing arrangements.

Marie P. Decker, 72

SOUTH DEERFIELD- Marie P. (Mittelsted) Decker, 72, of South Deerfield, formerly of Shrewsbury and Vernon, Conn., died Saturday, March 23, in Baystate Medical Center, Springfield.

Her husband of 40 years, John L. Decker Jr., died in 1994. She leaves two sons, David J. Decker of South Deerfield and Thomas A. Decker of Danville, Vt.; two daughters, Sandra Decker of Marlboro and Patricia Decker-McKeon of Shrewsbury; four sisters, Dorothy Kuhlmey of Deerfield, Ill., Besty Durivage and Theresa Dunham, both of Eagle Mills, N.Y., and Eileen Dunham of Salinas, Calif.; seven grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was born in Troy, N.Y., daughter of William and Elizabeth (Schuh) Mittelsted, and lived in Vernon and 20 years in Shrewsbury before moving to South Deerfield.

Mrs. Decker worked at Montgomery Ward and in the finance department of Roskin's Brothers in Albany, N.Y. She enjoyed cards, bowling and traveling.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, in Sacred Heart Church in Troy, N.Y. Burial will be in Eagle Mills cemetery in Brunswick, N.Y. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, April 1, in Wrisley Funeral Home, 90 Sugarloaf St. Donations may be made to Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, 1275 York Ave., New York, NY 10021.

Francis E. Defino, 68

SHREWSBURY- Francis E. Defino, 68, of 3 Francis Gardens, a retired maintenance craftsman, died Tuesday, March 19, in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center from injuries suffered in an automobile accident on Interstate 395 in Oxford.

He leaves his wife, Adeline R. (Antonucci) Defino; his stepmother, Agnes (Lynch) Defino of Shrewsbury; a brother, Robert M. Defino of Shrewsbury; and several nieces. He was born in Worcester, son of Frank E. and Dorothy (Frost) Defino, and lived here most of his life.

Mr. Defino was a maintenance craftsman at the Shrewsbury Water Department for 25 years, retiring in 1994. He was a member of St. Anne's Church and the Massachusetts Water Works Association.

The funeral will be held Friday, March 22, from Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home (www.Brittonfuneralhomes.com), 648 Main St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Anne's Church, 130 Boston Turnpike Road. Paul G. Derosier, 66

LISBON, MAINE- Paul G. Derosier, 66, of Lisbon, formerly of Ashburnham, Mass., died Sunday, March 17, at the home of his daughter.

His wife, Audrey (Decker) Derosier, died in 1989. He leaves a daughter, Valerie Whittier of Maine; two brothers, Peter Derosier of Delaware and Michael Derosier of Maine; a sister, Virginia Mercier of Massachusetts; nephews and nieces; grandnephews and grandnieces. He was born in Ashburnham, son of Gerald and Caroline (Diaz) Derosier, and lived there and later in Westminster, Mass., before moving to Maine in 1990. He served as a corporal in the U.S. Army. He attended Worcester Junior College, Portia Law School and Suffolk University.

Mr. Derosier was a real estate appraiser for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, before retiring.

A memorial service will be held at noon Saturday, April 13, in St. Denis Catholic Church, Main Street, Ashburnham, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kno Wal In Hospice, 170 Pleasant St., Rockland, Maine 04841.

Marjorie Diamond, 77
Wednesday, March 20, 2002

WORCESTER -- Marjorie (Reardon) Diamond, 77, of 25 Hooper St., died Tuesday, March 19, in the Shrewsbury Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, after an illness.

Her husband of 45 years, Harry Diamond, died last month. She leaves a son, Robert G. Gray Sr. of Dothan, Ala.; two daughters, Kathleen Diamond and Phyllis Rodriguez, both of Worcester; a sister, Phyllis Malatras of Kingston, N.H.; a stepbrother, Louis Briand Jr. of Worcester; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was born in Nashua, N.H., and lived in Worcester for many years.

Mrs. Diamond was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 21, in Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A calling hour will be noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, March 21, in the funeral home.
