WORCESTER -- Henry M. Milewski, 73, of 1 Mercury Drive, a retired administrative assistant, died Sunday, March 31, in UMass Memorial Medical Center - Memorial Campus after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 49 years, Helen M. (Callinan) Milewski; five sons, Mark S. and Paul C. Milewski, both of Worcester, John K. and Kevin S. Milewski, both of West Boylston, and David M. Milewski of Warwick, R.I.; a daughter, Kathleen A. Conlon of Jacksonville, N.C.; a brother, Charles Milewski of Worcester; 13 grandchildren; nephews and nieces. A brother, Chester Milewski, and a sister, Jane Saleski, predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of Stanislaw and Statia (Kolokowski) Milewski. He graduated from St. Mary's High School, Worcester Junior College, Clark University and American International College, Springfield. He served in the Navy.

Mr. Milewski was the administrative assistant for business for the city of Worcester School Department for 27 years, retiring in 1999. He was a member of St. George's Parish, National Education Association, Massachusetts Teachers Association and the Musicians Union Local 143. He also coached youth baseball for the Schwartz Little League, where he was a past treasurer. He was a sports fan.

The funeral will be held Thursday, April 4, from Henry-Dirsa Funeral Home, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. George's Church, 38 Brattle St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, in the funeral home.

Lloyd P. Miner, 86

LEOMINSTER- Lloyd P. Miner, 86, of 6 Beth Ave., formerly of 380 Wanoosnoc Road, Fitchburg, died Monday, March 25, in HealthAlliance Leominster Hospital, after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 63 years, Blanche V. (Laventure) Miner; seven sons, Lloyd D. Miner of Townsend, David L. and Gary P. Miner, both of Leominster, Ronald J. Miner of Mesa, Ariz., Lawrence R. Miner of Lakeland, Fla., Bruce E. Miner of Naples, Fla., and Peter R. Miner of Seattle; two daughters, Carol J. Sena of Garnerville, N.Y., and Cheryl A. Maggs of Fitchburg; a sister, Grace Ledet of New Orleans; 24 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. A brother, Roy Miner of Fitchburg; and a sister, Rachel Miner of Southington, Conn., predeceased him. He was born in Lunenburg, son of Lee and Pearl (Patterson) Miner, and lived in Fitchburg most of his life. He graduated in 1934 from Leominster High School.

Mr. Miner was a welder and a fabricator for more than 25 years at General Electric Co. in Fitchburg, where he was also a member of the Quarter Century Club, and a shop steward and past president of the Local 286. He retired in 1981. He belonged to St. Bernard's Church in Fitchburg, and was an avid Red Sox fan.

The funeral will be held Friday, March 29, from Lavery-Chartrand Funeral Home, 99 Summer St., Fitchburg, with a Liturgy of the Word at 1 p.m. in St. Bernard's Church, 228 Water St., Fitchburg. Burial will follow in St. Bernard's Cemtery in Fitchburg. Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 28, in the funeral home.

Alden Mitchell Sr., 90

Romanita Mojica, 61

WORCESTER -- Romanita (Fernandez) Mojica, 61, of 41 Laurel St., died Thursday, March 21, in UMass Memorial Medical Center - Memorial Campus.

She leaves her husband of 37 years, Julio Mojica; a daughter, Leslie Reyes of Worcester; her mother, Eladia Flores of Puerto Rico; four brothers, Pedro, Juan and Hector Fernandez, all of Puerto Rico, and Jose Fernandez of Florida; four sisters, Angelina, Hilda and Juanita Fernandez, all of Puerto Rico, and Gladys Coballes of Florida; six grandchildren; nephews and nieces. A son, Edgar Mojica of Worcester, died in 1995. She was born and raised in Canovanas, Puerto Rico, daughter of Regino Fernandez. She had lived in Worcester for 21 years. She was educated in Puerto Rico.

Mrs. Mojica was a quality controller for 21 years at Valkyrie Manufacturing Company, before retiring this year. She was a member of Seventh-day Adventist Church.

The funeral will be held Monday, March 25, from Morin Funeral Home, 298 Grafton St., with a service at 10 a.m. in Seventh-day Adventist Church, 80 Russell St. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 24, in the funeral home.

Robert P. Murphy, 78
Friday, March 22, 2002

WORCESTER -- Robert P. Murphy, 78, of 22 Michigan Road, a World War II veteran, died Tuesday, March 19, in UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus.

He leaves his wife of 55 years, F. Patricia (Gilbert) Murphy; a son, Robert P. Murphy Jr. of Exeter, N.H.; a daughter, Carol Anne Wilcock of New Milford, Conn.; a sister Mary P. Murphy of Worcester; and four grandchildren. He was born in Worcester, son of H. Frederick and Catherine (Flynn) Murphy. He graduated from North High School in 1941, Herborn Academy in 1942, and the College of the Holy Cross in 1949. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific.

Mr. Murphy was a salesman for Chase Corporation in Randolph for 40 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church, the Holy Cross Club, the Purple Knights of Holy Cross, the Rhode Island Rubber Club, and the New York/New Jersey Rubber Club.

The funeral will be held Saturday, March 23, from Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 23 Fales St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 22, in the funeral home. Donations may be made to Our Lady of the Rosary Church Restoration Fund, 23 Fales St., Worcester MA 01606; or to the American Diabetes Association, 1 Bromfield St., Boston, MA 02108.

Helen I. Murphy, 81
Sunday, March 31, 2002

SHREWSBURY- Helen I. (Costas) Murphy, 81, of Shrewsbury, died Thursday, March 21, in Oak Crest Village in Parkville, Md.

Her husband, Paul F. Murphy, predeceased her. She leaves three sons, Paul F. Murphy Jr. and John Murphy, both of Washington, D.C., and Peter D. Murphy of Hunt Valley, Md.; a brother, James J. Costas of South Yarmouth; four grandchildren; nephews and nieces. She was born in Worcester, daughter of John and Florence (Corey) Costas, and lived many years in Silver Springs, Md., and about 20 years in Shrewsbury. She graduated from Commerce High School, Worcester.

Mrs. Murphy worked at the Worcester Market and was a telephone operator supervisor with New England Telephone. She retired as a librarian with Montgomery County (Md.) Schools. She was active in various church and civic groups.

The memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 6, in St. Mary's Church, 640 Main St. A graveside service will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Copper Ridge Institute for Dementia Research, 710 Obrecht Road, Sykesville, MD 21784. Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, Route 32, Sykesville, is directing arrangements.

Doris M. Nankervis, 72
Tuesday, March 26, 2002

WORCESTER -- Doris M. (Desy) Nankervis, 72, of 942 Millbury St., died Monday, March 25, in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center after an illness.

Her husband, William Nankervis, died in 1992. She leaves three brothers, Mickey and Owen G. Desy, both of Worcester, and Raymond J. Desy of North Oxford; nephews and nieces. Two sisters, Arcene Latour and Rita Marcotte, predeceased her. She was born and raised in Worcester, daughter of Louis J. and Bertha M. (Gervais) Desy, and lived in Grafton before moving to Franklin, Maine, in 1961. She returned to Worcester in 1992.

Mrs. Nankervis was a homemaker.

The funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, in St. Catherine of Sweden Church, 1 Wiser Ave. After cremation, burial will be at the family's convenience in Riverside Cemetery, Grafton. There are no calling hours. Lindquist-Lundin Funeral Home, 36 Butler St., is directing arrangements.

Bernard Napierata Sr.

DUDLEY- Bernard J. Napierata Sr., 86, of 11 Korch Ave., a retired factory worker, died Friday, March 22, in Hubbard Regional Hospital.

His wife of 61 years, Alma F. (Belanger) Napierata, died in 2000. A son, Bernard J. Napierata Jr. of Dudley, died in 1995. He leaves a brother, Anthony J. Napierata of Webster; a sister, Bernice Nowak of Webster; many nieces and nephews. A sister, Dorothy Napierata of Webster, died last year. He was born in Dudley, son of Andrew and Antoinette (Kasprzak) Napierata, and lived in Webster before returning to Dudley in 1960. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Mr. Napierata was a millworker many years at Anglo Fabric before retiring. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.

The military funeral will be held Monday, March 25, from Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School St., Webster, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Andrew Bobola Church, West Main Street. Burial will be in St. Joseph Garden of Peace Cemetery. A calling hour will be held from 8 to 9:45 a.m. Monday, March 25, in the funeral home.

Vincent Nappa, 72, was retired electrician

MENDON- Vincent Nappa, 72, of Blackstone Street, died Monday, April 1, in UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus, Worcester.

He leaves his wife of 45 years, Marie (Davis) Nappa; two sons, Steven M. Nappa of Providence and Vincent D. Nappa of Mendon; two daughters, Michele M. Ellicks of Acton and Rosemarie A. Bradley of Stow; a brother, Joseph Nappa of St. Petersburg, Fla.; five sisters, Laura Parsons of Reading, Caroline Nappa of Belmont, Geraldine Nappa of Redington Shores, Fla., Jean Brenner of LaCrescenta, Calif., and Connie Fisher of Cushing, Okla.; five grandchildren; nephews and nieces. Two brothers and a sister, George Nappa of Scituate, Anthony Nappa and Delores Afienko, both of St. Petersburg, predeceased him. He was born in East Boston, son of Carmen and Lucy (Bellardino) Nappa, and was raised in Belmont. He lived many years in Milford before moving to Mendon in 1984. He graduated from Belmont High School and attended Wentworth Institute, Boston. He served in the Navy.

Mr. Nappa was a master electrician and owned and operated Mid-State Electric Co., Milford, for 10 years and later Nappa Electric, here, retiring in 1996. He previously was a timing and firing specialist for 16 years at E.G.&G. Inc., Bedford, and worked on above-ground testing of atomic bomb projects with the Atomic Energy Commission in Nevada and in the Pacific during the 1950s and 1960s. He was a member of St. Mary's Church, Milford; a past town meeting member in Milford; a former Boy Scout leader; a member of Mendon Senior Center and Roger L. Wood American Legion Post 355; and a past member of Italian-American Veterans Post 40, Milford. He enjoyed golfing, gardening and cooking.

The memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 6, in St. Mary's Church, Winter Street, Milford. Burial, with full military honors, will be at a later date in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. There are no public calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to UMass Memorial Medical Center, Kidney Transplant Unit, 55 North Lake Ave., Worcester, MA 01605. Buma-Sargeant Funeral Home, 42 Congress St., Milford, is directing arrangements.

David P. Nelson Sr., 63

SHREWSBURY- David P. Nelson Sr., 63, of 10 Anglin Lane, died Monday, March 25, in UMass Memorial Medical Center - Memorial Campus, Worcester, after an illness.

His wife of 33 years, Joan P. (Fairhurst) Nelson, died in 1994. He leaves a son, David P. Nelson Jr. of Worcester; three daughters, Kim R. Teixeira of South Grafton, Gayle P. Bouvier of Shrewsbury and Darlyn J. Kiley of Littleton; two brothers, Roland Nelson of Sterling and Russell Nelson of Millbury; two sisters, Judith Nelson of Worcester and Ruth Ghosn of Mossyrock, Wash.; five grandchildren; nieces and nephews. His stepparents, Esley and Mary Hendrickson, who raised him, predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of Roland and Ruth (Lawless) Nelson. He graduated from Shrewsbury High School.

Mr. Nelson worked 31 years at Norton Co., retiring in 1994. He then worked at the Worcester Telegram & Gazette. He was also a bartender for 35 years at the Anchor Lounge and Wayside Cafe. He was a member of Lakeview Congregational Church.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 28, in Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 9 Hammond St., Worcester (www.faybrothers.com). Burial will be in Mount View Cemetery. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Children's Friend, 21 Cedar St., Worcester, MA 01609; or to Lakeview Congregational Church, 115 Coburn Ave., Worcester, MA 01604.

Michelle Lowe Page, 42

LEOMINSTER- Michelle (Wirtz) Lowe Page, 42, of 150 Viscoloid Ave., died Monday, April 1, in Hillcrest Nursing Home after a long illness.

She leaves a son, Michael Lowe of California; two daughters, Jennifer Lowe and Beverly Page, both of Leominster; her father, Hubert Wirtz of Fitchburg; a sister, Oly Wirtz of Fitchburg; a granddaughter. She was born in Leominster, daughter of the late Beverly Ann (Delbove) Wirtz Logan.

She worked for E.S.P. Lock for three years.

She attended St. Leo's Church, and also attended St. Joseph's Church in Fitchburg.

The funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 6, in St. Joseph's Church, 46 Woodland St., Fitchburg. Burial will be private in St. Leo's Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Lavery-Chartrand Funeral Home, 99 Summer St., is directing arrangements.
