WORCESTER -- Mary C. (Quinn) St. George, 79, of 3808 Knightsbridge Close, formerly of Fayetteville, NC died Saturday May 19th in U-Mass Memorial Healthcare-Memorial Campus. Her husband of 55 years Bernard P. St. George died in 1997. She leaves 2 daughters Susan S. Peluso and Julie Ann Granger both of Worcester, 2 sisters Ann M. Beaulic and Shirley R. Tomolonius both of Auburn, 4 grandchildren, a great-grandson and nephews and nieces. A brother Russell M. Quinn of Clearwater, FL and 2 sisters Gertrude Fitzgerald of Auburn and Helene Torrey of Worcester predeceased her.

She was born in Webster the daughter of Michael and Margaret (Russell) Quinn. She was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Parish.

The funeral will be Tuesday May 22nd from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue, with a mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A calling hour will be held from 8:30 until 9:30 in the funeral home the morning of the funeral.

Please omit flowers and make contributions to Saints Memorial Medical Center Foundation, 1 Hospital Road, Lowell, MA 01854.

John L. Coleman, Sr.

WORCESTER -- John L. Coleman, Sr., 79 of 140 Moreland Street died Sunday May 20th in the Leo P. LaChance Center in Gardner. His wife Kathleen M. “Kathy” (Haggerty) Coleman died in February of this year. He leaves 2 daughters Ellen A. Welsh of Pensacola, FL and Susan Coleman Goldstein of Gardner, 6 grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. A son John L. Coleman, Jr. of Worcester died in 1963.

He was born in Worcester the son of Henry J. and Bertha (Dunleigh) Coleman. Mr. Coleman was a graduate of Commerce High School and attended Becker Junior College. While at Commerce High School Mr. Coleman was an outstanding member of the track team, which he captained. He also competed in the Boston Marathon on two occasions and led the race one year. He was a World War 2 Army veteran serving in the Pacific Theater. Mr. Coleman had been a metallurgist for Wyman-Gordon for over thirty years, he retired in 1986. He was a member of Christ the King Parish, and had served as an Adult Advisor for the church Catholic Youth Council, also as an assistant scoutmaster at the church’s troop. For the past 36 years Mr. Coleman and his wife had donated trophies awarded to participants in the church’s Pinewood Derby in honor of their son’s memory.

The funeral will be Friday May 25th from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue, with a mass at 10:00 AM in Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are for 5:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday May 24th.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Cub Scout Pack 37, c/o Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant Street, Worcester, MA 01602.

Nicole L. Goldstein

WORCESTER -- Nicole L. Goldstein 20, of 15 Brookline Street, died Saturday, May 26th from injuries suffered in an automobile accident. She leaves her mother Cheryl L. (Macklin) Goldstein of Sturgis, SD; a brother Tyson Goldstein of Worcester; a sister Jessi Mysliwiec of Sturgis, SD; her paternal grandmother Alice Goldstein of Worcester; her maternal grandmother Carol Chickering and step maternal grandfather Franklin Chickering both of Whitewood, SD; her maternal grandfather Craig Macklin and Step maternal grandmother Maureen Macklin with whom she lived with.

She was born in Worcester daughter of Barry Goldstein and Cheryl L. Macklin. She graduated from Doherty High School, attended Quinsigamond Community College and recently graduated from Hair in Motion.

The funeral will be held Wednesday, May 30th at 11:00 AM in the First Congregational Church, 1070 Pleasant Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday, May 29th from 7:00 until 9:oo PM in O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Locks of Love, 1640 South Congress Avenue, Suite 104, Palm Springs, FL 33461.

Edward D. Miller

WORCESTER -- Edward D. Miller 60, of 16A Wayne Street, formerly of East Providence, RI died Friday May 25th in Clark Manor Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center. He leaves his wife of 17 years Carol J. (Penttila) Miller. He leaves 5 children, 10 grandchildren and 1 great- grandchild.

He was born in Pawtucket the son of Charles and Viola (Lyon) Miller. He was an Air Force veteran, and had worked the past 12 years for Imperial Distributors in the maintenance department, prior to that he had worked for Millbrook Distributors for many years.

The funeral will be Tuesday May 29th at 10:30 AM in O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are 4:00 until 7:00 PM Monday May 28th.

Thomas A. Giacobbi

N. GRAFTON -- Thomas A. Giacobbi 40, of 213 North Main Street died Saturday May 26th in UMass-Memorial Healthcare Hospital-University Campus after a brief illness. He leaves his long time partner and friend Denage Chenevert and her daughter Tara Chenevert both of Oxford; a brother Ronald J. Giacobbi of Barre; 2 sisters Ann Dansereau of Holden and Kathleen Dombroski of Rochdale; nephews and nieces.

He was born in Worcester son of Anthony and Eva (Blanchard) Giacobbi and lived in Worcester for many years before moving to Grafton. Mr. Giacobbi was a millwright at Morgan Construction for the past year. He was a former member of the Singletary Rod and Gun Club in Sutton.

The funeral will be Wednesday at 10:00 in O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue with cremation to follow. Calling hours will be Tuesday, May 29th from 7:00 until 9:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.

Mary A. (Heraty) McGrail

WORCESTER -- Mary A. (Heraty) McGrail 97, formerly of 54 Beaver Brook Parkway died Wednesday May 23rd in Notre Dame Long Term Care Center. Her husband retired Worcester Police Officer Dominick McGrail died in 1979. She leaves her 2 sons Dominick McGrail of Costa Mesa, CA and Sean T. McGrail of Worcester, her 2 daughters Maeve Anderson of Rowland Heights, CA and Grawnea McGrail Jones of Stafford, VA, 10 grandchildren and 16 grerat-grandchildren. A daughter Mary McGrail King of Worcester died in 1982, 6 brothers and 4 sisters also predeceased her.

She was born in County Mayo, Ireland the daughter of Thomas and Mary (O’Malley) Heraty. She was a long time member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, and served on the Anna Maria College Parents Guild.

The funeral will be Saturday May 26th from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue with a mass at 10:00 AM in St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 5 Spaulding Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Friday May 25th from 5:00 until 8:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to either St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 16 Vineyard Street, Worcester, MA 01603 or to Notre Dame Long Term Care Center, 555 Plantation Street, Worcester, MA.

Francis E. Power

WORCESTER -- Francis E. Power 85, of 110 Kendrick Avenue died Thursday May 17th in the Blair House after an illness. He leaves a son Francis R. Power of Worcester; a stepdaughter Jean Hearns of Templeton; a brother Robert Power of Leicester; 2 sisters, Bernice Power and Charlotte Scavone both of Worcester; 2 grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.

He was born in Worcester son of Francis and May (Quinlan) Power and lived here all his life. He graduated from Commerce High School. Mr. Power was a WWII veteran serving with the Army Air Force. Mr. Power worked at the Iandoli Warehouse for many years before retiring in 1975. He was a member of St. Paul’s Cathedral and the Main South Legion Post 341. He was a former member of the Dudley Gendron American Legion Post and the Knights of Columbus in Leicester.

The funeral will be held Monday May 21st from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue with a mass at 11:00 AM in St. Paul’s Cathedral, 15 Chatam Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday May 20th from 3:00 until 6:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 36 Cameron Avenue, Cambridge, MA 02140-1102

Ernestine R. (Perron) Laprade

WORCESTER -- Ernestine R. (Perron) Laprade 69, of 36 Upsala Street formerly of 31 Florence Street died Saturday May 19th in UMass-Memorial Healthcare-Memorial Campus after an illness. She leaves 2 sons John F. and Brian J. Laprade both of Worcester, 8 daughters Carolyn R. Moody of Fresno, CA, Barbara A. Laprade of Cherry Valley, Janice T. Desrosiers, Joan M. Lackey, Joyce A Johnson, Theresa M. Mosso, Lynn M. Johnson and Brenda M. Mosso all of Worcester, a brother Joseph Perron in Greece, 2 sisters Gloria Mott of Sandwich and Georgianna Morin of Worcester, 23 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces.

She was born in Worcester the daughter of Ernest A. and Leona (Childs) Perron. Mrs. Laprade had at one time worked as a machine operator for Killeen Machine Tool Company and the former Lundquist Tool. She enjoyed crafts.

The funeral will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Please omit flowers and make contributions to the charity of ones choice.

Eva M. (Goretti) Gleason

WORCESTER -- Eva M. (Goretti) Gleason 85, formerly of 50 Hitchcock Road, a retired employee of Goretti's Supermarket, died Thursday May 17th in Homestead Hall, 10 Homestead Ave. Her husband of 56 years, James W. Gleason died in 1992. She leaves a daughter Maureen G. Jeamel of Vernon, CT; three grandsons; two great-granddaughters; nephews and nieces. Two brothers Raymond and Harry Goretti, and two sisters, Ida Yurick and Mary Donovan predeceased her.

She was born in Worcester, daughter of Frank and Celerina (Bonci) Goretti. Mrs. Gleason worked at the former Goretti's Supermarket for many years. She was a member of St. Peter's Church.

The funeral will be held, Saturday, May 19th, from the O'Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue, with a Mass at 10 AM in St. Peter's Church, 931 Main Street. Entombment will be in Notre Dame Mausoleum. A calling hour is 8:30 until 9:30 AM May 19th in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 7 Oak St., Worcester, MA 01609.

David M. Fleming, Sr.

WORCESTER -- David M. Fleming, Sr., 65, of 1290 Main Street died Thursday July 19th at home after a long battle with cancer. He leaves his wife of 44 years Muriel C. (Logan) Fleming; two sons Paul R. Fleming, Sr. of Webster and David M. Fleming, Jr. of Worcester; three daughters Jody L. Peltier of Oxford, Tammy L. Fleming-Moss of Leicester and Bonnie L. Farrell of Worcester; two sisters Jean Petty of Worcester and Susan O’Neill of Yarmouthport; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. A brother Fred “Buzzy” Fleming of Worcester predeceased him.

He was born in Worcester son of Fred M. and Helen (Gaier) Fleming, Sr. and graduated from South High School, he attended Worcester Industrial Technical Institute, and Centeral New England College. Mr. Fleming had been a draftsman at Crompton & Knowles, he later had been facility supervisor at Data General for 13 years. He most recently worked for Jeremiah's Inn, Archway Inc., in Leicester and Becker College maintenance department in Worcester. He served with the United States Marine Corps Reserves. He was a member of Hadwen Park Congregational Church, an active member and fly fishing instructor at the Auburn Sportsman Club and the National Rifle Association. Mr. Fleming was an avid hunter, fisherman, woodworker and outdoorsman.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday July 23rd, in Hadwen Park Congregational Church, 6 Clover Street. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are from 4:00 until 7:00 PM Sunday, July 22nd in O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Auburn Sportsman’s Club, Inc., C/O David Fleming, Sr., 50A Elm Street, Auburn, MA 0l50l.

Barbara L. (Jessup) McGauley

WORCESTER -- Barbara L. (Jessup) McGauley, 80, of 53 Townsend Street, died Sunday August 12th in UMass-Memorial Health Care. She leaves her husband of 55 years Thomas E. McGauley, a son T. Kevin McGauley of Douglas, 2 daughters Patricia M. Anzivino of Sutton and Sandra M. McGauley of Worcester, 2 brothers John Wayne Jessup of Greenfield, IN and Jack Jessup of Branson, MO, 2 sisters Janet Sipe of Morristown, IN and Peg Elsbury of Madiera Beach, FL, and 4 grandsons. A son Brian E. McGauley of Worcester died in 1971 and a sister Alice Evelyn Leary of Greenfield, IN predeceased her.

She was born in Greenfield, IN the daughter of Homer and Mabel (Starett) Jessup and had lived in Worcester for many years. She was a graduate of Greenfield High School. Mrs. McGauley had been a catalog clerk with Sears for over 20 years before retiring in 1985. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish and the YWCA where she enjoyed swimming.

The funeral will be Wednesday August 15th from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue, with a mass at 10:00 AM in Blessed Sacrament Church, 555 Pleasant Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Tuesday August 14th from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. Please omit flowers and make contributions to Blessed Sacrament Church, 555 Pleasant Street, Worcester, MA 01602.

Mario D’Amato

ROME -- Mario D’Amato, 75 of Rome, Italy died Tuesday July 24th in his home after being stricken there. He leaves his wife of 56 years Maria (Vino) D’Amato, a son Edoardo D’Amato of Rome; a sister Egle Novia of Worcester, a granddaughter and several nephews and nieces. Another sister Rose Corey of Westboro died in 1985.

Mr. D’Amato was born in Rome the son of Alfonso and Velia (Silvestri) D’Amato. He had been employed by the government for many years, before retiring.

The funeral will be held in Rome on Thursday July 26th. A memorial mass will be held Tuesday August 7th, at 8:00 AM in Blessed Sacrament Church, 555 Pleasant Street, Worcrester. O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home 592 Park Avenue is directing local arrangements.

Eric J. Bonczek

NORTHBRIDGE -- Eric J. Bonczek, 26, of 49 Rose Avenue, formerly of Auburn died Saturday July 28th in Fairlawn Rehabilitation Hospital after an illness. He leaves a son Sean Keyth Bonczek of Worcester, his parents John J. and Maureen A. (Sweeney) Bonczek of Northbridge, a brother Mark J. Bonczek of Vernon, CT, his maternal grandmother Mildred I. (Fournier) Sweeney of Kissimmee, FL and his paternal grandparents Frank J. and Jane V. (Lewon) Bonczek of Worcester and many cousins.

He was born in Worcester and was a former member of Our Lady of the Angels Church, and served there for many years as an alter boy. He was a 1994 graduate of Bay Path Vocational Tech, specializing in carpentry. He had worked for many years for J. J. Bonczek Building and Remodeling as a carpenter, and last worked as a machine operator for Worcester Envelope Company in Auburn. Mr. Bonczek was an avid skier, enjoyed four-wheeling, his car and music.

The funeral will be Wednesday August 1st from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue, with a mass at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street, Worcester. Entombment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Tuesday July 31st, from 5:00 until 8:00 PM.
