SHREWSBURY - Jane C. Miller, 78, died Tuesday, December 5, 2006. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Gordon T. Miller, and their three children, daughter Donna M. Barsotti and husband John of Ithaca, NY, daughter Elfreda M. Skidmore and husband Richard of Portland, OR, and son William (Billy) B. Miller of West Hollywood, CA. She also leaves four grandchildren, Rebecca Green, Matthew Green, Brittney Mae Skidmore and James Skidmore; her sister Annette Smith, of Kauai, Hawaii; brother - in - law and sister - in - law, Stanley and Dora Miller of Paxton; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother and father, Elizabeth Austin Church and Leonard Hughes Church, of Shaker Heights OH, and her brother James Church.
Jane graduated from Shaker Heights High School in 1945, and went on to Simmons College, where she received a BS in 1949. Following her graduation from college and marriage to Gordon, Jane was employed by Brown Brothers Harriman Financial Institution in Boston. Jane and Gordon moved to the Worcester area in 1950. In the 1960s, Jane was a free - lance writer for the Feature Parade section of the Worcester Sunday Telegram, publishing over 50 articles. Three of her articles were reprinted nationally, one of which was an interview with Esther Goddard (wife of Robert Goddard, father of modern rocketry), which was reprinted in the Congressional Record. Jane was a Senior Trust Officer when she retired from the law firm Bowditch & Dewey in 1996, where she had worked since 1970. During that time she originated a banking bill, which is now law in Massachusetts.
Jane was a member of the First Unitarian Church of Worcester, having served as the clerk, trustee of endowment funds, and was active in many other church activities. She was the former vice president of the Simmons College Alumnae Association and a former president of the Worcester Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW). She was active with the United Way, serving as a member of the budget committee and the planning council. At the Worcester Country Club she earned the Red Cross 50 - mile Swim Certificate and was captain of the Women's Bowling League team.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 9th at 10:00 AM at the First Unitarian Church of Worcester, 90 Main Street, Worcester. There are no calling hours. If you wish, contributions can be made to the Elizabeth Austin Church Scholarship Fund at Simmons College, Boston, MA. Britton - Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury is assisting the Miller family with arrangements.

First Lt. John J. Biram, USAF
December 25, 1979 - September 23, 2006
WEBSTER - First Lieutenant John J. Biram, USAF, 26, of 41 Upper Gore Rd. and formerly of Auburn, passed into the hands of our Lord on Sat., September 23rd , as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident he suffered while stationed in England.
He leaves his loving parents, Maureen (Biram) Rohacik and her husband Frank Rohacik of Webster, his brother, Zachary Drake Rohacik of Worcester; his three sisters, Tiffany Biram McDonald of Leicester, Amy Rohacik of Barre, MA, and Susan Rohacik of Eugene, OR. He also leaves several aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as a special nephew, Tyler Thomas Kuhn of Leicester.
John was born in Worcester and attended elementary schools there. He moved to Auburn in 1989 and graduated from Auburn High School, Class of 1997. John was an excellent student and outstanding athlete and member of the football team, winning several awards. He then attended Quinsigamond College and transferred to Worcester State College, where he played varsity football and was a member of the National Honor Society. He graduated in 2001 with a degree in Psychology. Following several months of working in construction, John applied for and was accepted into the US Air Force Officer Training School, and graduated in 2003. While there, he was awarded the 400 Club Award for superior achievement. He was assigned to the 712th Munitions Squadron in Italy. He was a Munitions Systems Commander, where he was responsible for the care and distribution of over 17,000 tons of munitions. He then was stationed in Korea for 13 months, and had recently begun serving a two year tour in England.
John was a caring man, committed to God, who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, October 3rd from 5 - 8 PM in the Britton - Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 4th at 10 AM in St. Joseph's Church, (Rev. Hector Quinones presiding) 189 Oxford Street, Auburn. Burial with military honors will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester.

Judith M. "Judy" (Powers) Dwyer
June 10, 1941 - January 4, 2006
AUBURN - Judith M. "Judy" (Powers) Dwyer, 64, of 23 Meadowbrook Road, Auburn, formerly of Worcester, died after a courageous 6 year battle with lung cancer on Wednesday, January 4th at UMass Memorial Medical Center - Memorial Campus in Worcester surrounded by her husband and children.
Judy leaves her husband of 43 years, Michael J. Dwyer, her children Melanie M. wife, of Dennis M. Ciociolo of Shrewsbury, Michael V. Dwyer and his wife, Cheryl of Enumclaw, Washington and Kathleen A. wife, of Paul Belliveau of Auburn; a sister, Patricia A. Lamoureux and her husband, James of Hubbardston, a sister in law, Andrea Powers of Athol; also survived by three grandchildren, Laura Ciociolo of New York City, Dennis Ciociolo of Shrewsbury and Zachary Dwyer of Auburn and many friends, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother Richard Powers.
She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Vincent and Doris (Frogatt) Powers and was educated at St. Peter's High School, Worcester Junior College and Worcester City Hospital School of Medical Technology. She was employed at the former Worcester City Hospital until its closing and then worked at UMass Memorial Hospital until she was forced to retire due to her illness. She was a life long member of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists.
Judy's main love was her family and many friends. She had a unique sense of humor that everybody cherished. She spent many summers at Hampton Beach with her Aunt and Grandmother and loved the ocean, although she couldn't swim a lick. She was an avid reader and would go through 2 or 3 books a week before her illness slowed her down. Judy was also fond of traveling, although it had to always be someplace warm. Hawaii was her favorite, but really anyplace with a beach and warm water was alright with her. Although she was quit ill, she made one last trip to Virginia Beach last summer with her husband.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Judy's family on Friday, January 6th from 5 - 8 P.M. in the Britton - Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 7th at 9:30 A.M. in Saint Mary's Church, 640 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Burial will be in Saint John's Cemetery, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her memory can be made to Auburn District Nursing Association, 191 Pakachoag Street, Auburn, MA 01501.

Joanne (McPherson) Lynch
September 2, 1931 - July 26, 2007
SHREWSBURY - Joanne (McPherson) Lynch, 75, of Janet Circle, died Thursday July 26th in her home after an illness.
She leaves her longtime companion, Michael Casso; her daughter, Cyndi Mohler of Centerville; her brother, Fran McPherson of Woburn; a niece, Lisa A. Beauregard of Canton; a nephew, Robert Beauregard, Jr. of Shrewsbury; two grandchildren, Jeffrey and Tiara Mohler; and a great niece, Elizabeth Tassinari. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Robert and Richard McPherson and her sisters, Mary E. Beauregard and Eleanor Riddle.
She was born in Cambridge and has lived in Shrewsbury for many years.
Ms. Lynch worked as a customer service representative for the R.G. Shakour Co., Westborough before her retirement. She also worked as a representative for Creative Nail and for EVA Subscription Services.
Relatives an friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, July 29th from 2 - 4 PM in the Britton - Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St., Shrewsbury. A prayer service will follow at 4 PM in the funeral home. Following cremation, burial in Saint John's Cemetery, Worcester will be private.

John Francis Scanlon
September 17, 1947 - December 19, 2005
AUBURN - John F. Scanlon, 58, of 29B Warren Rd and formerly of Charlton died Monday, December 19th in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester.
He leaves his three children, Sean F. Scanlon, and his fiancé Christine Lowther of Union, CT, Heather K., wife of David Stelmach, and Claire J. wife of Scott Swenson, all of Auburn; his brothers, Joseph Scanlon of Woodstock, Thomas Scanlon of Sutton and Michael Scanlon of Littleton, NH and William Scanlon of China; his three grandchildren, Liam D. and Jillian R. Stelmach, and Hannah Mae Swenson; as well as several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his brother Timothy Scanlon in 1995.
He was born in Worcester, son of the late Dr. Joseph C. and Rita H. (Fleming) Scanlon, graduated from St. John's High School, where he co - captained the hockey team in 1965. He then entered the US Air Force and served as an Air/Sea Helicopter Rescue Medic. He earned his degree while serving in the Air Force stationed in Tampa, FL. John loved the 22 years he resided on the South Charlton Reservoir, where many wonderful family events happened. He returned to Auburn in .
Prior to his retirement in 2000, John worked as an insurance executive for the John Alden Insurance Co. for 12 years. Previously, he worked in management for the former Robinson Thread Co., Worcester for 13 years.
John enjoyed playing golf all over the USA, Mexico and Europe with his friends. He especially looked forward to the annual Chuck's Steak House Golf Tournament, which he participated in for over 14 years. He also enjoyed the Dirty Dozen Open each summer on Cape Cod with his high school friends.
He also enjoyed the annual West Palm Beach Florida trip with his two good buddies, Donny and Kosmo, where they were affectionately known as the "3 amigos" or the "Rat Pack". One of John's favorite foods was the chicken burritos made at Margarita Grill in Auburn. It is estimated that John ate more than 3500 of this delicacy in over 25 years. John was a devoted father and grandfather and loved them all dearly.

His funeral will be held Thursday, Dec. 22nd from the funeral home with a Mass at 9:30 AM in St. Joseph's Church, 189 Oxford St., Auburn. Burial with military honors will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Auburn.

John J. Kenefick
May 9, 1928 - April 9, 2007
Webster - John J. Kenefick,78, of Killdeer Island Road and formerly of Shrewsbury, passed away Monday, April 9th at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home. His wife Rosanna died in 1986. He was born and raised in Boston, the son of the late Francis and Frances (Ryba) Kenefick. He leaves two sons, Kevin of Shrewsbury; Francis "Frank" of Worcester; and a daughter, Kim Butkevich of Mechanicsburg, PA. He leaves three granddaughters; Amanda, Sarah and Emily Kenefick and one grandson, Thomas Butkevich. John leaves a brother, Robert of Webster; two sisters, Dorothy Kershaw of Hingham, MA; and Elizabeth Nolan of Albuquerque, NM. John was predeceased by a brother Walter. He was a 20 year veteran of the USMC and USAF. He retired in 1968 and returned to Shrewsbury to raise his family. He then moved to Myrtle Beach, SC and later to Webster, MA.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visiting hour with John's family on Saturday, April 14th from 9 - 10 AM in Britton - Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St., Shrewsbury. Donald E. Kennedy
October 28, 1934 - April 24, 2006
AUBURN - Donald E. Kennedy, 71, of 1C John Williams Drive, died unexpectedly on Monday, while vacationing in Killarney, Ireland.
He is survived by his Wife Faith (Santamore) Kennedy, his children; Karen Richard, of Worcester, John E. Kennedy, of N. Las Vegas, Nevada, Matthew D. Kennedy of Auburn, and Maura E. Wild, of Dayton, OH as well as 5 grandchildren, and a close dear friend, Jay Martin Shanahan, of Worcester.
He is predeceased by a daughter Kathleen A. Kennedy.
He was born in Webster, son of the late Bernard and Clara, (Belanger) Kennedy. He was educated in Worcester Schools, graduating from Worcester Boys Trade.
Mr. Kennedy was a Production Controller, for the former Thermo Electron Co. in Auburn.
He proudly served his country as a member of the Massachusetts National Guard Yankee Division. He was a member of the Alhambra Council 88 Knights of Columbus, and the Greendale Men's Club.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours from 3 - 6 Sunday in the Britton - Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn. His funeral will be held 10:00 AM Monday in the Funeral home. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park.

Alice A. (Mazeika) Kristo
March 31, 1913 - November 6, 2005
Auburn - Alice A. (Mazeika) Kristo, of Pinehurst Avenue, died Sunday, November 6th in the Life Care Center of Auburn.
Her husband of 52 years, Joseph A. Kristo died in 2001.
She leaves her daughter, Dr. Janice V. Kristo of Orono, ME; a sister, Paulyne Tankis of Auburn; several nephews and nieces including Dr. Edward Mazeika of California and Judie Flinchbaugh of Pennsylvania; her devoted neighbor, Sally Niemi, and her longtime aide, Pauline Lebel. She was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph and Ralph Mazeika.
She was born in Worcester, a daughter of the late Ralph and Valeria (Stancelis) Mazeika and has lived in Auburn for over 50 years. She graduated from Commerce High School, David Hale Fanning School, and the Worcester School of Business Service.
Mrs. Kristo worked as a clerk for the former C.T. Sherer Company and later for the Wright - Goldman Beef Co., both in Worcester.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Parish, and was active in its former Women's League; a member of the St. Casimir's Chapter Knights of Lithuania, and the Bancroft Chapter of the AARP. She loved to cook, travel, and loved visiting Maine, but most of all she enjoyed the time spent with family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 PM in the Britton - Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 9:30 AM in St. Joseph's Church, 189 Oxford Street North, Auburn. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester.

Audrey Marie Santo
December 19, 1983 - April 14, 2007
WORCESTER - Audrey Marie Santo, age 23, passed into eternal life early Saturday April 14, 2007. Audrey died peacefully at her home in Worcester, Massachusetts. Her family and several members of clergy were with her at the time of her passing. Audrey is survived by her Mother, Linda; and her siblings: Jennifer, Matthew, and Stephen. Cause of death was cardio - respiratory failure.
Calling hours are scheduled for 4pm to 8pm, on Tuesday, April 17th at St. Paul's Cathedral located at 15 Chatham Street, Worcester, MA 01609. A Vigil for the deceased will be held from 7PM to 8PM at the Cathedral. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated for Audrey on Wednesday, April 18th at 10AM at St. Paul's Cathedral. Bishop Robert McManus, Bishop of Worcester will be presiding. Private burial will follow – family only. The public is welcome to attend the vigil and funeral Mass.

Barbara Janson Green
December 23, 1924 - November 17, 2006
Barbara Janson Green, 81, of Shrewsbury, died with family early Friday morning, November 17, 2006. Her passing was preceded by the recent death of her husband of 60 years, Alfred E. Green. She leaves behind her two sons Reverend Dr. Douglas J. Green of Ithaca, NY and Bradford F. Green of Shrewsbury, her daughter Nancy G. Burnett of Shrewsbury, her daughter - in - law Virginia Green, her son - in - law Paul Burnett, six grandchildren, Rebecca and Matthew Green, Ryan and Jaime Green, Edward and Alan Burnett, her two sisters, Betty (Janson) Hooks and Beverly (Janson) Mogenson, and her brother - in - law and her sister - in - law Randall and Janet Dean of Shrewsbury.
Barbara was born in Shrewsbury to Arthur and Irene Janson in 1924 and lived there her entire life. She graduated from Major Beal High School in 1941 and from Colby - Sawyer (formerly Colby Junior) in 1943 where she made friends with whom she stayed in close contact. She and Al married on February 9, 1946 in Shrewsbury, raising a family, building strong roots, and forming a business Process Heating Corp.
Barbara was a member of the Shrewsbury Garden Club, the Worcester Country Club, the Shrewsbury Historical Society, and past president of the Shrewsbury Woman's Club. She was a lifetime member of the First Congregational Church of Shrewsbury where she was a member of The Martha's Circle and a former Deacon. Barbara belonged to the Mayflower Descendant Society and had a deep interest in genealogical research and colonial history. She loved taking classes at Worcester Center for Crafts, refinishing antique furniture.
Barbara was an active and vibrant woman up until her death. She enjoyed gardening, skiing, traveling, sailing and spending time with family. She looked forward to summers with Al and the family at their second home in Marion, MA. She especially loved swimming in the ocean; something she did every year of her life, including her first and last. Barbara had a lively spirit, constantly telling stories and laughing. She was a devoted wife and a very strong, supportive woman especially toward her family who will miss her very much
A Memorial service will be held Monday November 20, 2006 at 11 am at the First Congregational Church of Shrewsbury, 19 Church Road, Shrewsbury, MA
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church of 19 Church Rd. Shrewsbury or Colby - Sawyer College of 541 Main St. New London. NH 03257.
