Frances M. Anton, 82

West Hyannisport - Frances M. (Banionis) Anton, 82, a resident since 1994, died Saturday, July 3, 1999 at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston.

She was the wife of the late Wllliam V. Anton for 30 years.

Mrs. Anton was born in Worcester, where she graduated from Commerce High School and Fairchild Office School. She lived in Worcester until moving to Cape Cod in 1994.

She was a 15-year employee of the Department of Public Welfare. She later worked at Holy Cross College as a secretary in various academic and administrative offices, retiring in 1986.

Mrs. Anton was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church in Centerville and a former member of Our Lady of Vilna Parish in Worcester.

She is survived by a daughter, Mary F. Garbauskas of Niskayuna, N.Y.; two sons, Vincent J. Anton of West Hyannisport and Michael P. Anton of Englewood, N.J.; a brother, John L. Banionis of Worcester; two grandsons; and nieces and nephews.

Burial was in Notre Dame Cemetery.

Priscilla A. Dagger, 83

Hyannis - Priscilla A. Dagger, 83, one of the last operators in the Barnstable telephone office, died Sunday, June 27, 1999 at Cape Cod Hospital Extended Care Community-Manor.

Miss Dagger was born in Montclair, N.J., but grew up and lived for many years in the village of Barnstable. After moving to Hyannis, she worked for several retail businesses and later resumed work for the Nynex Telephone Co.

Surviving are a brother, Norman Dagger of Lexington; and four nieces and nephews.

Paul E. Dumais, 64

West Barnstable -Paul E. Dumais, 64, a retired mechanic and flight line inspector, died Tuesday, June 29, 1999 at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis.

He was the husband of Joanne (Robertson) Dumais.

Born in Worcester, Mr. Dumais was a graduate of Worcester Boys Trade School and served three years in the Army during the Korean War.

He worked as a mechanic and flight line inspector for Kaman Aerospace in Bloomfield, Conn., until his retirement in 1989.

A resident of Enfield, Conn., for 29 years, he was a resident of West Barnstable for the past nine years.

Surviving besides his wife are a son, Bruce E. Dumais of Stafford, Conn.; two daughters, Virginia M. Dumais of West Barnstable and Paul E. Steinke of Yarmouthport; four grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Burial was in Crocker Park Cemetery, West Barnstable.

Arthur V. Faass, 80

Osterville - Arthur Victor Faass, 80, a chemical engineer and former bomb disposal training officer, died July 4, 1999 after a long illness.

He was the husband of Regina (Zwolinski) Faass.

He was born in New Hartford, N.Y. Mr. Faass graduated from Syracuse University with a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering. He then worked as production supervisor in the chemical division of U.S. Rubber Company, now know as Uniroyal, in Naugatuck, Conn.

During World War II, Mr. Faass enlisted in the Navy, where he was a lieutenant and bomb disposal training officer. In recognition of his service in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre, he received one star, and another star for the Philippine Liberation, the American Theatre and Victory Ribbon World War II. He served 20 years in the Naval Reserve.

After the military, he returned to the U.S. Rubber Co. as production manager and later in sales. In 1968 he moved to Naperville, fill., and managed the Joliet Army Ammunition Plant in Joliet, Ill.

After 30 years with Uniroyal, Mr. Faass accepted a position with Davy McKee, an engineering company in Lakeland, Fla. He lived there for 20 years before relocating to the Cape four years ago.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Patricia A. Faass of Acton.

He was also the father of the late Gary S. Faass.

Burial was in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Centervlle.

Mary E. Teehart, 95

West Hyannisport - Mary Elizabeth (Ruck) Teehan, 95, a resident of West Hyannisport, died June 28, 1999 at the Center for Optimum Care in Mashpee.

She was wife of Walter L. Teehan, who died in 1986.

Born in Boston, Mrs. Teehan lived in Arlington for more than 40 years and retired to the Cape in 1973.

A loving and generous mother and grandmother, she enjoyed having her grandchildren visit her and serving them lunch.

She was very independent, proud and religious.

Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Sullivan of Cotuit and Judith Winston of Westlake Village, Calif.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Burial was in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington.

Mary E. DeCoster, 73

Hyannis - Mary Elizabeth Halloran DeCoster, 73, a longtime Hyannis resident, died Thursday, July 15, 1999 at home after a brief illness.

Mrs. DeCoster was born, raised and educated in Worcester. After high school, she met and married John F. Halloran. In 1953, they moved their family to Hyannis. After Mr. Halloran's death, she married George DeCoster, who also preceded her in death.

She was a member of VFW Post 2578, Ladies Auxiliary in Hyannis. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping, ice skating, and spending time on the beach.

Mrs. DeCoster had a special interest in gardening and was fond of doing yard work. She also enjoyed needlework, knitting and crocheting.

She is survived by two sons, John F. Halloran Jr. of Nantucket and Michael J. Halloran of Marstons Mills; three daughters, Carol A. Haberl of South Dennis, Jane E Peacock of Durham, Maine, and Paula J. Hendricks of Hyannis; two brothers, William A. McNamara of Spencer and Kenneth Reil of Worcester; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Burial was at Mosswood Cemetery, Cotuit.

Thomas A. Ghiorse, 44

Osterville - Thomas Anthony Ghiorse, 44, a longtime Cape resident, died Wednesday, July 14, 1999 at home.

Mr. Ghiorse was born in South Weymouth and raised in Sagamore. He was a 1972 graduate of Bourne High School.

He worked as a customer representative for Colonial Gas Co. for many years.

Mr. Ghiorse enjoyed outdoor activities, particularly kayaking.

Surviving are a sister, Elizabeth Schuepbach of Virginia Beach, Va.; a friend, Louie Wukson of Sagamore; and two nieces and a nephew.

Mitchell G. Gidyez, 77

Centerville - Mitchell G. Gidyez, 77, a retired Air Force master sergeant, died Friday, July 16, 1999 at home after a brief illness.

Born in Hudson, N.J., he resided in Sacramento, Calif., until his recent move to Cape Cod.

Mr. Gidyez served with the military, including the Marine Corps and the Air Force, retiring in 1974. He served honorably in World War II, the Korean War, and in Vietnam. He was the proud recipient of the Air Medal, First Oak Leaf Cluster, given for meritorious achievement while participating in aerial flight in 1969 in Vietnam.

He is survived by a son, Mitchell Verne Gidyez of Falmouth; three daughters, Stephanie Santolucito of Centerville and Michelle Rice and Kathleen Gidyez, both of Sandwich; and six grandchildren.

Burial was at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.

Elizabeth J. King, 88

Hyannis - Elizabeth J. (Stonis) King, 88, a former bookkeeper, died Thursday, July 15, 1999 at Hospice House in Barnstable.

She was the wife of Marshall H. King, who died in 1987.

Born in Pittsburgh, Pa., she lived on Cape Cod for the last five years. She formerly resided in Barre for over 60 years.

Mrs. King was previously employed as a bookkeeper at Trifilo Market in Barre.

She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church in Hyannis and St. Thomas-a-Becket Church in South Barre. Mrs. King was an avid knitter and enjoyed sewing.

Surviving are a daughter-in-law, Susan King Fulcher of Barnstable; a sister, Nellie Janulevicus of Barre; two grandsons; four great-grandchildren.; and a niece and three nephews.

She was the mother of the late William King and the late Richard King.

Burial was in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Barre.

Roger W. Sellers, Sr., 72

Hyannisport - Roger W. Sellers, Sr., 72, a Hyannisport resident, died at home Tuesday, July 6, 1999 after an illness.

He was the husband of Mary J. (Hackett) Sellers.

Born in Beverly, Mr. Sellers was raised and educated in Cambridge. He was a driver with the Teamsters Local 25 in Charlestown and worked in the Boston area. He moved from Cambridge to Burlington in 1955 and to Hyannisport in 1980.

He was a member and former officer of the Knights of Columbus Council 4978 of Burlington. He was also a longtime usher in the west wing of St. Francis Xavier Church in Hyannis for the 4 p.m. Saturday Mass.

Mr. Sellers was an avid hockey and football fan, and played semiprofessional hockey in his younger days when he lived in Cambridge.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Jeanne F. Sellers of Burlington; and a son, Roger W. Sellers Jr. of Garden Valley, Calif.

He was also the father of the late John R. Sellers.
