Margaret B. 'Maggie' Bradley, 68
Barnstable - Margaret B. "Maggie" Bradley, 68, died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2001 at her home following a long illness.
She was the wife of John Bradley for 43 years.
Mrs. Bradley was born in London and came to the U.S. in 1954. She was a registered nurse for more than 50 years and retired from Faulkner Hospital in Jamaica Plain. She later worked for the VNA in Dennis.
Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Claire Bradley-Wolf of Las Vegas, Nevada; two sons, Mark Bradley, also of Las Vegas, and Kevin Bradley of South Boston; and a sister, Patricia Alonzi of West Yarmouth.
A funeral was held at from Doane, Beal and Ames Funeral Home, 160 West Main Street, Hyannis, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at Sacred Heart Chapel, Summer Street, Yarmouthport. Burial was be private.

The Rev. P. Rufus Coffey, 74
Marstons Mills - The Rev. P. Rufus Coffey, 74, a resident of Marstons Mills, died Feb. 12, 2001.
He was the husband of Maude F. Coffey.
Born in Alto, Va., Mr. Coffey was a graduate of Bob Jones University, Greenville, S.C.
Mr. Coffey was a retired minister, serving in Timmonsville, Darlinton, Florence, Columbia and Aynor, S.C., Nashville, Tenn., and Norfolk, Va. His ministry spanned 54 years.
He traveled extensively in Missionary and Evangelistic Conferences.
Surviving besides his wife are two sons, the Rev. Raymond E. Coffey of Barnstable and R. Steve Coffey of Lyon, France; a daughter, Rebecca C. Pugh of Memphis, Tenn.; two brothers, Marshall Coffey of Lynchburg, Va., and Glenn Coffey of Chico, Calif.; three sisters, Margaret Ramsey of Crozet, Va., Hilda McGann of Madison Heights, Va., and Betty Winters of Santa Rosa, Calif.; and 14 grandchildren.

Richard P. Crowley, 73
Osterville - Richard P. Crowley, 73, of Osterville and Boston, died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2001 at his home after a long battle with lymphoma.
He was the husband of Mary Madeline (Leonard) Crowley.
Mr. Crowley grew up in Dorchester. He graduated from Boston English High School in 1944 and earned a bachelor of science in chemistry from the University of Massachusetts in 1949. He graduated from Western New England School of Law in 1958. He also attended Boston University Graduate School and New York Law School. He served in the Air Force from 1944 to 1946 as a corporal and in the Army from 1951 to 1953 as a first lieutenant. He retired from the reserves in 1965 as a major judge advocate general.
For several years he served as a member of the board of trustees of University Hospital in Boston, as well as on the board of directors of several corporations, three of which he cofounded. He was a former member of the Algonquin Club of Boston and the St. James Club of London, England. He practiced law from 1959 until his death.
Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Colin Speer Crowley of Osterville and Patrick Michael Crowley of Ridgefield, Conn.; three daughters, Kathleen Ann Devey of Clifton, Va., Eileen Mary Sullivan of Shrewsbury and Sharon Ann Glencross of Bedford, N.H.; two brothers, Vincent M. of Adelphia, Md., and Thomas J. of Milton; two sisters, Jeanne Gallagher of Stuart, Fla., and Ann Laing of Stuart and Harwich Port; 10 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Burial was private.

Ernest R. DeForge, 92
Centerville - Ernest R. DeForge, 92, a longtime Cape resident, died Feb. 21, 2001, at the Mayflower Place Nursing Home in West Yarmouth.
He was the husband of Mary (Daley) DeForge.
Born in Cherurbusco, N.Y., Mr. DeForge lived in the Boston area before moving to Centerville.
He served in the Massachusetts National Guard from 1930 to 1936, then enlisted in the Army in 1942 and served in the European theater until 1945. He retired from the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority.
A member of the Disabled American Veterans and Veterans of Foreign Wars, he was a communicant of Our Lady of Victory Church in Centerville, where he was an usher and a volunteer in the church office. He was a former caretaker at the South Congregational Church in Centerville.
Besides his wife, he is survived by many nieces and nephews.
John F. Dowd, 81
Osterville - John F. Dowd, 81, formerly of Lexington, died Feb. 11, 2001, at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis.
He was the husband of Annette (Breen) Dowd.
Born in Bridgewater, Mr. Dowd was a graduate of Boston University School of Business.
He served in the Army Air Force during World War II and was a prisoner of war for six months.
Mr. Dowd worked at Donnelloy Advertising, then was a senior vice president for George A. Philbrick Researchers, a company that was involved in introducing analog technologies to the computer industry. He retired in 1975 and moved to Osterville.
He was a member of the board of directors for the Bank of Boston, now Fleet Bank, and a member of Oyster Harbors Golf Club since 1971.
Surviving besides his wife are two daughters, Susan E. Stone of Tenafly, N.J., and Patricia I. Connolly of Collinsville, Ill.; a brother, Thomas Dowd of Yarmouth; two sisters, Paula Mosher of Sandwich and Rose O'Donnell of Bridgewater; and five grandchildren.
He was also the father of the late Nancy Raife.

Thomas 'Bud' Harty, 79
Hyannis - Thomas Meehan "Bud" Harty, 79, a resident of Hyannis and Farmington, Conn., died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2001.
He was the husband of Jane Harty.
A World War II Navy veteran, Mr. Harty was a 1950 graduate of Holy Cross College.
Mr. Harty worked as a probation officer for 32 years for the Connecticut juvenile court. He was also a home project specialist and a weekend automobile mechanic.
He enjoyed his family, the beach and playing golf.
Surviving besides his wife are five sons, Richard Harty and Chris Harty, both of Farmington, Conn., Robert Harty of Ellington, Conn., Kevin Harty of East Haven, Conn., and Brian Harty of Beverly; three daughters, Tracy Harty-Howley of Wilton, Maine, Karen Matern of San Jose, Calif., and Maura Harty of Farmington, Conn.; two sisters, Betty Fanska of Middletown, Conn., and Barbara Picard of Sanford, Maine; 13 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Patrick's Church in Farmington, Conn.
Anna Maheris, 84
Hyannis - Anna (Coulouris) Maheris, 84, a resident of Hyannis, died Feb. 8, 2001, at Boca Raton Community Hospital after a brief illness.
She was the wife of Trefon J. Maheris.
Mrs. Maheris was born in Boston and raised in Boston and Arlington. After her marriage in 1940, she settled in Lexington and later moved to Melrose, where she lived for 17 years before moving to Hyannis in 1971.
She was a member of St. George's Greek Orthodox Church in Hyannis and a member of St. Catherine's Philoptohos Society. An avid bridge player, she also enjoyed dining out, gardening, golf, walking and spending time with her grandchildren.
Mrs. Maheris was also an artist, who painted still lifes in oils, and a seamstress who loved to sew.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, William J. Maheris of Melrose; two sisters, Eleanor Marshall of Arlington and Beatrice Davis of Dayton, Ohio; three grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
She was also the mother of the late James Maheris and the late Trefon J. Maheris Jr.

Louise G. Melchiono, 85
Osterville - Louise G. (Porter) Melchiono, 85, of Osterville, died Feb. 10, 2001, at the Cape Regency Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Centerville.
She was the wife of Michael Melchiono, who died in 1988.
Mrs. Melchiono was born in Revere. A former resident of Revere and Medford, she moved to Cape Cod in the late 1970s. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Victory Church in Centerville and Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Osterville.
Surviving are a son, Peter G. Melchiono of Osterville; a brother, George Porter of Revere; four grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
