Harry F. Johnson, 80

Centerville - Harry Frederick Johnson, 80, died of cancer March 8, 2001, at his home.
He was the husband of Lucille (Studley) Johnson since 1944.
Born in Centerville, Mr. Johnson was a 1938 graduate of Barnstable High School and graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Stockbridge School of Agriculture in 1942, where he was an Alpha Tau Gamma fraternity member.
During World War II, he served in the Coast Guard from 1942 to 1945. He succeeded his father in the landscaping business, which is now being carried on as Harry Johnson Tree Farm by his two sons.
Mr. Johnson was a member of the Barnstable Park and Recreation Commission for seven years, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Dennis F. Thomas Post No. 2578 of Hyannis and a member of the Mariner's Lodge of Free Masons of Cotuit. He also was a founder of the Cape and Islands Farm Bureau, served on the Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills Water Commission Board for 17 years and was on the board of directors of the Barnstable County Fair.
A member of the South Congregational Church in Centerville for more than 60 years, he served on many committees. He loved all sports, especially baseball, and was president of the Barnstable Little League and coached several teams.
Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Arnold O. Johnson of Osterville and Timothy W. Johnson of Waquoit; a brother, John C. Johnson of Geronimo, Okla.; a sister, Sally Faria of Daytona Beach, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also the father of the late Ronald W. Johnson.
A memorial service was held at the South Congregational Church in Centerville. Burial was in Beechwood Cemetery, Centerville.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, NE Division, Inc., Cape Cod & Islands Unit, P.O. Box 1909, Framingham, MA 01701-0109; or to a charity of one's choice.

Francis L. Logue, 70

Centerville - Francis L. Logue, 70, a resident of Centerville, died March 9, 2001, at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital after a long illness.
He was the husband of Jeannine (McKenna) Logue.
A former resident of West Roxbury, Mr. Logue attended St. Sebastian's in Needham and graduated from Newman Preparatory School of Boston. He also attended Lincoln Institute in Boston.
Mr. Logue lived for many years in Norwell. He was a real estate appraiser and assessor for the town of Norwell and city of Lebanon, N.H. He was also the founder and owner of Francis L. Logue and Associates, a real estate revaluation company in Massachusetts and Vermont.
Prior to establishing his own business, he worked for many years as part-owner and project manager in a heavy construction company.
He was an avid collector and restorer of antique automobiles, belonging to the Ford V8 Club of America and the Model A Restorers Club.
Surviving are six children, A. Emmet Logue of Richmond, Va., Jeannine Zarkauskas of Scituate, Joanne Morris of Arlington, Va., Peter F. Logue of Watertown, Conn., Amy L. Bedell of Medway and Christopher A. Logue of Johnsonville, N.Y.; three brothers, A. Emmet Logue of Scituate, John I. Logue of White Pigeon, Mich., and William G. Logue of Dartmouth; three sisters, Margaret Tighe of Norwell, Loretta Hiney of Hingham and Genevieve Desmond of Scituate; and 12 grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was held at St. Mary of the Nativity Church, Scituate Harbor. Burial was in St. Joseph's Cemetery, West Roxbury.

Concetta 'Connie' Martinelli, 85

Centerville - Concetta "Connie" (Sacco) Martinelli, 85, a resident of Centerville, died March 11, 2001, at Harbor Point in Centerville.
She was the wife of the late Angelo Martinelli.
Born in Boston, Mrs. Martinelli was a secretary for International Harvester, or HAVISTAR, in Allston for 35 years.
She was a resident of Centerville and previously lived in Lexington.
Surviving are a brother, Albert Sacco of Florida; two sisters, Marie "Mona" Cardillo of Mashpee and Edith Daigle of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial Mass was held at Christ the King Chapel in Mashpee, with burial to follow in West View Cemetery, Lexington.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Cape Cod, 923 Route 6A, Yarmouthport, MA 02675; or to the Alzheimer's Association of Cape Cod, 895 Mary Dunn Road, Hyannis, MA 02601.

Joyce M. Mills, 47

Worcester - Joyce Maria (Mero) Mills, 47, a resident of Worcester and Centerville, died of breast cancer March 11, 2001, at her home in Worcester.
She was the wife of Dr. Stephen Mills for 24 years.
Born in Worcester, Mrs. Mills lived all of her life in Worcester. She graduated from the former Sacred Heart Academy, St. Peter Marian High School and the Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing.
Mrs. Mills worked in the development office of the National Kidney Foundation, retiring in March due to illness. She previously worked as a registered nurse for many years at the former Worcester City Hospital and the Visiting Nurse Association.
After raising three children, she worked extensively in the development community in the Worcester area, both at the Worcester Foothills Theater and the American Cancer Society.
A summer resident of Centerville, she enjoyed Craigville Beach with her children.
Mrs. Mills was on the board of directors at the Worcester Youth Guidance Center and the Young Women's Christian Association. She was an active parent volunteer at the Worcester Arts Magnet School and an active member of the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, where she served on the parish council and taught in its Confraternity of Christian Doctrine Program.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her parents, John and Joan (Nuzzetti) Mero of Worcester; two daughters, Christina E. Mills and Alexandra T. Mills, and a son, Tyler S. Mills, all of Worcester; a sister, Janet Eros of Grapevine, Tex.; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was also the mother of Gregory Mills, who died in 1985.
A funeral Mass was held at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament in Worcester, with burial in St. John's Cemetery there.

Joseph J. Stec, 86

Cotuit - Joseph J. Stec, 86, a resident of Cotuit, died March 10, 2001, at his home.
He was the husband of Anna (Andrejko) Stec, who died in April 2000.
Born and raised in New York City, Mr. Stec worked as a supervisor for the Esso Standard Oil Co. in New York City. He had been a resident of Cotuit for 25 years.
Surviving are a daughter, Lorraine Meigel of Southampton, N.Y.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at Christ the King Church in Mashpee. Burial was in Sandwich Town Cemetery.

Paula Tonis

Barnstable - Paula Tonis, a resident of Barnstable, died March 10, 2001, at her home.
She was the wife of Robert Tonis.
Born in Piqua, Ohio, she grew up in Pennington, N.J. She studied piano and organ for many years and received a bachelor of fine arts degree in classical pipe organ from Syracuse University.
She met her husband while they were both working at a summer resort in Rye, N.H., and was married in 1935. She and her husband lived in St. Paul, Minn., Philadelphia and Boston before finally settling in Weymouth.
While she was raising her family, Mrs. Tonis played the organ at the First Church in Weymouth, was a choir director and Sunday school superintendent. She was active in the community as a den mother for Cub Scout, a leader for Bluebirds and Camp Fire Girls and a member of the League of Women Voters and the school PTA.
Later in life, Mrs. Tonis worked in various jobs at Harvard University and at the Union of Concerned Scientists in Cambridge. She also lived in Hull and Hingham until moving to the Cape to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Donald Brack.
She was an avid flower gardener and enjoyed reading, especially historical novels and biographies.
Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons, Kenneth Tonis of Orinda, Calif., David Tonis of Brockton and Frank Tonis of Phoenix, Ariz.; a daughter, Barbara Brack of Barnstable; four sisters, Eleanor Rosswag of Riegelsville, Pa., Peg Van Hise of Titusville, N.J., Bette Tevis of Cape May Courthouse, N.J., and Patricia Crawford of Santa Barbara, Calif.; a brother, David Miller of Mesa, Ariz.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Services were private.

William S. Wilson, 65

West Yarmouth - William S. Wilson, 65, a resident of West Yarmouth, died March 13, 2001, at Cape Regency Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Centerville.
He was the husband of Sarah "Sally" (Trainor) Wilson.
Born and raised in Salem, he was a graduate of Salem High School.
Mr. Wilson was a veteran of the Marine Corps. He worked as a custodian for the Salem School Department before moving to Cape Cod in 1987. He then worked for Marstons Mills East Elementary School as a custodian until his retirement in 1997.
He enjoyed gardening and fishing.
Besides his wife, he is survived by six sons, Peter M. Wilson of Powder Springs, Fla., William F. Wilson of Salem and Sean R. Wilson, Thomas A. Wilson, Raymond L. Wilson and Frederick E. Wilson, all of West Yarmouth; two daughters, Margaret A. Wilson of Kentucky and Mary Margaret Elizabeth Wilson Hanly of Lee; two sisters, Nancy Stewart of Beverly and Ann Graser of Plymouth; two brothers, Arthur H. Wilson Jr. of Dracut and Peter M. Wilson of Danvers; two grandsons; one granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also the father of the late Sarah Jane Wilson.
A funeral service was held at the Doane, Beal and Ames Funeral Home in Hyannis. Burial was private.
