George H. Beaupre, 75

Hyannis - George H. Beaupre, 75, a resident of Hyannis, died Nov. 6, 2001, at Cape Cod Hospital.
He was the husband of Barbara (Hallett) Beaupre for 53 years.
Born and raised in Salem, Mr. Beaupre graduated from St. Joseph's High School and from Salem Commercial College in 1948.
Mr. Beaupre was an Army veteran, serving in the 87th Infantry Division, 345th Infantry Regiment, E-Company 2nd Platoon, 1st Squad during World War II. Severely wounded in the Battle of the Bulge, he was awarded the Purple Heart, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with Bronze Service Star, Marksmen Badge with Rifle Bar, Bronze Star and many other medals.
After his discharge from the Army, he worked for the government for 30 years, first with the Air Force and then the Massachusetts National Guard. He retired in 1981 as the budget officer in the Finance Office.
Mr. Beaupre was an avid fan of the Boston Celtics, Boston Bruins, Red Sox and New England Patriots. His hobby was genealogy.
Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Steven M. Beaupre of Falmouth and Dr. Gary S. Beaupre of Sunnyvale, Calif.; two granddaughters; two nephews; two nieces; a stepgranddaughter; and a great-stepgranddaughter.
A funeral service was held at Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home in Hyannis. Burial was in Cummaquid Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Hyannis Fire and Rescue Squad, 96 High School Road, Hyannis, MA 02601.

John O. Broadhurst, 67

Agawam - John Owen Broadhurst, 67, was buried with military honors Nov. 5, 2001, at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.
He was the husband of Mary J. (Pellesler) Broadhurst.
Mr. Broadhurst was born in Bayshore, Long Island, N.Y., and graduated from Chester High School in Chester in 1952.
He received a bachelor's of arts degree in mathematics from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, in 1980.
Mr. Broadhurst served in the Air Force and was stationed in the Azores as a radio operator during the Korean War. He was discharged with the rank of sergeant.
After completing college, he joined the Social Security Administration, starting in the Holyoke office. After several postings including Danbury, Conn., he was assigned to the Springfield regional office.
He wrote a Social Security advice column for the Springfield Newspapers and several weeklies. He was assistant manager in the Springfield office when he retired in 1980 after 29 years of service.
He was a member of Agawam American Legion Post 165.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two sons, Owen R. Broadhurst of Agawam and James I Broadhurst of Holyoke; two brothers Charles J Broadhurst of Dalton and Francis I. Broadhurst of Centerville; and a sister, Kathleen M. Roy of Pownal, Vt.; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Mr. Broadhurst was a frequent visitor to Cape Cod where he visited his brother Francis, a free-lance columnist for the Cape Cod Times, and he attended and presided over many training seminars and conferences for the Social Security Administration here.

Stanley Buchyn, 91

Hyannis - Stanley Buchyn, 91, a resident of Hyannis, died Nov. 2, 2001, at Cranberry Pointe Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center in Harwich.
He was the husband of Mary M. (Niedzialkosky) Buchyn, who died in 1998. They were married in 1939.
Born and raised in Worcester, Mr. Buchyn remained in Worcester, working at the Standard Foundry, until his retirement in 1974.
That year, Mr. Buchyn moved to Hyannis.
Mr. Buchyn was a communicant of St. Francis Xavier Church in Hyannis.
He was an active member of the Polish Society of the Cape and Islands, and active with the Barnstable Senior Center. He was also active with the Residents Council of Cranberry Pointe while he was a resident.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary H. Belsito of Harwich; and two grandchildren.
A memorial Mass was celebrated at the Chapel of Cranberry Pointe Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center in Harwich.
Memorial donations may be made to the Residents Activity Fund of Cranberry Pointe, 111 Headwaters Drive, Harwich, MA 02645; or to Beacon Hospice, 765 Falmouth Road, Hyannis, MA 02601.

Margaret M. Bunszel, 74

Canton - Margaret M. (Berry) Bunszel, 74, a resident of Centerville and Canton, died Nov. 4, 2001, at her home after a long illness.
She was the wife of the late Walter J. Bunszel.
Born and raised in Milton, Mrs. Bunszel lived in Canton for the last 47 years, and previously lived in Readville and Roslindale.
Mrs. Bunszel attended St. Anne's Elementary School in Readville and Nazareth High School in Boston. She graduated from Northeastern University after her retirement.
She worked as a manager for Verizon for almost 40 years, retiring in 1982. She was a member of the New England Telephone Pioneers.
Surviving are a daughter, Karen A. Bunszel of Canton; a brother, William J. Berry Jr. of Hyannis; a cousin; five nieces; and a nephew.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Gerard Majella Church in Canton.
Burial was in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
Memorial donations may be made to the John F. Kennedy School Library, 100 Dedham St., Canton, MA 02021.

Alfred L. Cahill, 79

Centerville - Alfred L. Cahill, 79, a Centerville resident and former Medford resident, died Nov. 2, 2001, at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis.
Mr. Cahill was the husband of Virginia (Goggin) Cahill of Centerville.
Born and educated in Everett, he earned his associate's degree at Wentworth Institute.
Mr. Cahill served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.
He worked for General Electric in Medford for 44 years as a lead machinist and foreman.
Mr. Cahill was a former member of the Knights of Columbus Council #141 in Medford, the Disabled American Veterans in Somerville and the Irish American Club in Malden.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Karen A. Bielaski of Arlington; four sons, Lawrence B. Cahill of Downington, Pa., Kevin R. Cahill of Weymouth, Brian C. Cahill of Amherst, N.H., and David M. Cahill of Chelmsford; 10 grandchildren; a brother, John Cahill of North Reading; and a sister, Eleanor Ward of Centerville.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at Our Lady of Victory Church in Centerville.
Burial followed at the Massachusetts National Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Cape Cod Hospital, 27 Park St., Hyannis 02601.

Neil Champagney, 36

Hyannis - Neil Champagney, 36, of Hyannis, died Nov. 1, 2001, at his mother's home in West Hyannisport, following a lifelong battle with cystic fibrosis.
Mr. Champagney was born in Holyoke and graduated from Barnstable High School in 1983.
He continued his education with culinary arts courses at Cape Cod Community College.
He enjoyed a 12-year career in the restaurant industry, working as a chef at Ocean Edge, East Bay Lodge, and the Paddock.
He most recently acted as business manager for Forest and Environmental Services.
Mr. Champagney was an avid musician, playing bass guitar and keyboards in several bands. He was a collector of toys, guitars, and film memorabilia.
Surviving are his mother, Marie Champagney-Hayes; his stepfather, Norman Hayes; his grandfather, Gerald Labrie of Chicopee; three brothers, Matthew of Scituate, Edward of Salem, N.H., and Thomas of Tarriftown, Conn.; two sisters, Joyce Emond of Beckett and Linda Champagney of Suffield, Conn.; two nieces; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A service of remembrance was held at Doane, Beale & Ames Funeral Home in Hyannis.

Dorothy C. Partelow, 90

Cotuit - Dorothy C. (Cummings) Partelow, 90, a resident of Cotuit, died Nov. 7, 2001, at Cranberry Pointe Nursing Home in Harwich.
She was the wife of the late Lawrence Arthur Partelow.
Born in Ballardvale, Mrs. Partelow was a former resident of Reading. She graduated from Reading Memorial High School in 1929. She met her husband in Reading and they moved to Cotuit in 1971.
She was a member of the Garden Club of Osterville and a member of the Women's Fellowship at the Cotuit Federated Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Judith Gilman of Sun City Center, Fla., Ellen Ritter of Oyster Bay, N.Y., and Lauren Howard of Cranbury, N.J.; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held at the Cotuit Federated Church.
Burial followed in Mosswood Cemetery, Cotuit.
