Robert W. Connelly, 82

Centerville - Robert W. Connelly, 82, a resident of Centerville, died Jan. 27, 2002, in Lexington of pulmonary fibrosis.
He was the husband of Mary K. (Behlen) Connelly, who died in 1968.
Born in Kingston, Pa., Mr. Connelly graduated from Bucknell in 1942 with a bachelor of science degree in finance and from Georgetown Law School in 1950. He was admitted to the D.C. Bar in 1950.
During World War II, he served in the 17th Signal Operation Battalion of the First Army in Europe and participated in the invasion of Normandy, the liberation of Paris, the Battle of the Bulge and the liberation of Buchenwald. Mr. Connelly left the Army with the rank of technical sergeant.
After the war, he married and went to work for the Internal Revenue Service in Washington , D.C., where he progressed through a series of legal, technical and executive positions. He retired in 1975, at the age of 55, as the technical adviser to the assistant commissioner.
In 1977, he moved to France where he did advanced studies at the universities of Dijon and Montpellier.
In 1982, he returned to the United States and settled on Cape Cod, where he took an active part in many amateur and professional musical organizations as well as in audio recording of musicians.
Surviving are a daughter, Caren M. Connelly of Winchester; a sister, Ruth Walker of Harrisburg, Pa.; and a granddaughter.
A memorial concert will be held at 3 p.m. on April 14 at the James Library in Norwell.

Bradley E. Coy, 62

Centerville - Bradley E. Coy, 62, a resident of Centerville, died of lung cancer Jan. 25, 2002, at his home.
He was the husband of Donna (Corp) Coy.
Mr. Coy was born and raised in Brockton. Before his illness, he was employed by Bonanza Bus lines for 38 years.
He was past president and business agent for Amalgamated Transit Union of Local 1363 out of Providence, R.I., for many years, and was also past president of the New England Joint Counsel.
Mr. Coy owned a hunting camp in Palermo, Maine, where he enjoyed snowmobiling with family and friends. He also enjoyed country music.
Surviving besides his wife are three children from a previous marriage, Todd Coy of Hyannis, Regina Panczyk of Maine and Jeannette Coy of Florida; two sisters, Ann Musto of Marion and Jane Rogovich of Sandwich; three grandchildren; a stepgrandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Joan Mary Fay, 83

Sandwich - Joan Mary Fay, 83, a resident of Sandwich, died Jan. 29, 2002, at her home.
She was the wife of Eugene Michael Fay Sr. for 59 years.
Born and raised in Somerville, she attended St. Joseph's School for Girls and graduated from Trinity College in Washington , D.C.
She lived in Sandwich since 1977.
During the 1970s, Mrs. Fay worked at several schools including Walnut Hill School in Natick, Macduffie School in Springfield, Berkshire School in Sheffield, Thayer Academy Junior School in Braintree.
She was curator of the Cape Cod Art Association in Barnstable, retiring in 1989 at the age of 70.
Surviving besides her husband are three sons, Eugene Fay Jr. of Boston, John F. Fay and William R. Fay, both of Sandwich; three daughters, Joan M. Fay of Sandwich, Martha E. Fay-Atwood of Roslindale and Ellen Fay-Warlick of Castle Rock, Colo.; her twin sister, Elizabeth A. MacDonald of Norwell; and seven grandchildren.
A funeral was held at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Sandwich.
Burial was in Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.

Paul K. Karras Sr., 70

West Yarmouth - Paul K. Karras Sr., 70, died Jan. 31, 2002, at his home.
He was the husband of Mary Lou (Riley) Karras since 1954.
Born in Barnstable, Mr. Karras attended Barnstable schools.
He was an Army veteran serving in Korea with the rank of technical sergeant from 1951 to 1953.
Mr. Karras worked for Suburban Gas Co. for 10 years and then became owner of Bayside Gas Co. for more than 25 years, from 1968 to 1993. He then worked part-time for Kingston Propane Gas Co. until his death.
He was a noble grand for the Cape Cod Lodge 226 Odd Fellows of Hyannis and was also at one time the grand conductor of the Grand Lodge.
Mr. Karras enjoyed playing softball and organized many softball leagues on Cape Cod. He loved all sports, especially golf. He was also an avid gardener.
Surviving are two sons, Mark F. Karras of Chatham and Paul K. Karras of Dennis; two daughters, Paula M. Foss of Brewster and Marlo L. George of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; seven brothers, George K. Karras of Edisto Beach, Fla., Louis K. Karras of Barnstable, James K. Karras of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., John K. Karras of Wareham, his twin brother Petrus K. Karras of Hinton, W. Va., and Theodore K. Karras of West Yarmouth; a sister, Mary Karras Montagna of Sandwich; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral was held at the Doane, Beal and Ames Funeral Home in Hyannis, with burial following in the Chandler Gray Cemetery in West Yarmouth.

Spencer T. MacLeod, 21

South Yarmouth - Spencer T. MacLeod, 21, a resident of South Yarmouth, died Jan. 26, 2002, at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis of stabbing-related injuries.
He was the son of Robin (Gulian) Farnsworth of South Yarmouth and Peter N. MacLeod of Orleans.
Born in Hyannis, Mr. MacLeod was raised in Wellfleet, Orleans and South Yarmouth. He attended Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School.
Mr. MacLeod was a carpenter for Greyson Builders in Brewster.
He loved music and wrote Christian rap. It was his love for music that allowed him to travel to South Africa in 2000 with his church on a missions trip.
He loved basketball, skiing and carpentry. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving besides his parents are his stepfather, Calvin Farnsworth of South Yarmouth; his stepmother, Bernadette MacLeod of Orleans; three brothers, Miles MacLeod and Jacob Farnsworth, both of South Yarmouth, and Eric MacLeod of Brewster; two sisters, Jade MacLeod and Lillian MacLeod, both of Orleans; a stepbrother, Andy Farnsworth of South Yarmouth; two stepsisters, Laura Farnsworth of South Yarmouth and Sadie Biathrow of Orleans; and his maternal grandmother, Martha Murray of Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y.; and several aunts and uncles.
A memorial service was held in Victory Chapel in Hyannis, followed the next day by a graveside service in Woodside Cemetery in Yarmouthport.

Harriett W. Montcalm, 90

Hyannis - Harriett W. (Zukowski) Montcalm, 90, a resident of Hyannis, died unexpectedly at the Cape Regency Nursing Home on Feb. 1, 2002..
She was the wife of the late Cranston H. Montcalm.
Mrs. Montcalm was born, raised and educated in Philadelphia, moving to Cape Cod in the late 1930s. She was a homemaker and the mother of 10 children. She enjoyed cooking, oil painting and reading.
Surviving are five sons, Lloyd S. Montcalm of Hyannis, Herbert Montcalm of Texas , Donald R. Montcalm and Cranston H. Montcalm Jr. of Florida, and Ronald J. Montcalm of Michigan; three daughters, Corrine W. Maguire of Centerville, Sally Nordstrom of Walpole and Betty Jane Sanborn of Marstons Mills; two brothers, Richard Zukowski of Maryland and Matt Zukowski of Michigan; a sister, Joan Mayo of Orleans; 15 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
She was also the mother of the late David W. Montcalm and the late Miriam Krauss.
A funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Francis Xavier Church in Hyannis. Burial was in Ancient Cemetery in Yarmouthport.

Janice M. Naughton, 51

Centerville - Janice M. (Amicone) Naughton, 51, a resident of Centerville, died Jan, 28, 2002, at her home.
She was the wife of Joseph Naughton.
Born in Malden, Mrs. Naughton graduated from Walpole High School in 1969. She moved to Cape Cod in 1988.
She worked as a customer service specialist in the retail industry, working for CCB&T, Filene's and the Hearth 'N Kettle Restaurant.
Mrs. Naughton was a fun-loving free spirit who loved the sun and especially the beauty of lilacs. She regularly attended the Figawi Ball with her many friends.
Dedicated to a life of fitness, she was a regular member of the Women's Workout Co. in Hyannis.
Surviving besides her husband are her father, Joseph Amicone; a daughter, Jamiea Pina of Osterville; two stepsons, Joseph Naughton III and Craig Naughton, both of Clinton; a stepdaugther, Christina Naughton of Clinton; two brothers, Joseph M. Amicone of Altamont Springs, Fla., and Bruce Johnson of Seattle, Wash.; sisters, Linda Amicone of Wells, Maine, Martha "Marty" Peterson of Malden, Donna Nuzzo of Saugus, Sharon Crowley of San Antonio, Texas , Beverly Amicone of Mansfield, and Elaine Pettit of Clearwater, Fla.; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at Our Lady of Victory Church in Centerville, immediately followed by a release of memorial balloons celebrating the life of Janice Naughton at her request.

Robert P. Neff, 81

Naples - Robert 'Bob' P. Neff, 81, a resident of Naples, died Jan. 24, 2002, at his winter home in Naples with his wife by his side.
He was the husband of Joan "Joanie" Neff for 13 years and the late Mildred Neff for 40 years.
Born in Five Points, Pa., he was one of 13 children of whom nine are still living.
He raised his family in Belmont, and retired to Centerville and Naples after working in the corrugated box industry as a salesman and product developer for 40 years. Mr. Neff entered the Army in February 1941 and was chosen for the O.S.S., with which he served as an instructor of hand to hand combat and did active duty in Ceylon, Burma, Thailand and India.
He appeared on the cover of the Saturday Evening Post, dated Feb. 20, 1943, in his combat gear. The original oil painting is hanging in the Pentagon. Mr. Neff was a member of Oakley Country Club in Watertown for 25 years, where he was club champion in 1958 and became a golf legend throughout Massachusetts for his long ball.
He had five holes-in-one and two double eagles to his credit and was an active member at Cummaquid Golf Club on Cape Cod since 1972.
He worked at the Lely Flamingo and the Mustang in Naples for the past eight years as a starter.
Surviving besides his wife are a son, Robert Neff Jr. of Fishkill, N.Y., two daughters, Janice Kaleikau of Jamul, Calif. , and Lori Konowski of Raleigh, N.C.; five grandsons; three granddaughters; and two great-grandsons.
A memorial service will be held this spring in Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
