TIVERTON, RI - Normand A. Gariepy, 41 passed away unexpectantly in Boston, Mass. on 1-07-01.

He was the son of Carol A. Heap of Tiverton, RI and the late Normand A.

Gariepy, Sr. Stepson of Rev. George R. Heap. Residence formally of 25

Brackett Ave., Tiverton, RI. Brother of David Gariepy of Fall River,

Mass. and Gary Rogers of Tiverton. Grandson of the late William &

Theresa Kershaw and the late Albert & Irene Gariepy Remy. Uncle of

David, Denyelle & Samantha.

Private cremation arrangements have been made by the Sperry & McHoul

Funeral Home, North Attleboro, Mass. Memorial Service was held at

the Tiverton Community Church - Corner of Bulgamarsh Road (Rt.177) and

Brayton Road, Tiverton, RI, on January 28, 2001 at 3 P.M.

Eva M. Guimond, 90

Former area jewelry worker

NORTH ATTLEBORO - Eva M. Guimond, 90, of Cumberland and formerly of North Attleboro died Tuesday afternoon, February 20, 2001 at the Rose Cottage Health Care Center in Central Falls, RI.

She was the wife of the late Theodore J. Guimond.

Born October 16, 1910 in North Attleboro, she was a daughter of the late Antoine and Josephine (Leonard) Morin.

She lived most of her life in Attleboro and North Attleboro and after many years of employment by Donnelly’s Manufacturing in Attleboro Falls and Evans Case in North Attleboro, she retired to Plainville for several years and has lived in Cumberland for the past 13 years.

Her survivors include a daughter, Penelope Rankl; two granddaughters, Linda Rankl and Christine Bogossian; two great-grandchildren, Alan and Victoria Cadorette all of Cumberland. Also several nieces and nephews.

The funeral was held Saturday, February 24th at 8 a.m. from the SPERRY & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro followed by a Mass in St. Mark’s Church, Stanely Street, Attleboro Falls at 9 a.m. Burial followed in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Attleboro Falls.

Edith M. Hickman

No. Attleboro - Edith M. Hickman, 88, of No. Attleboro died suddenly Tuesday evening, January 16, 2001 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence.

She was the wife of Darold B. Hickman.

Born July 26, 1912 in Okalona, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Floyd and Jessie (McCawley) Keelen.

Mrs. Hickman has been a resident of No. Attleboro since for over 60 years.

She was a long time member of Grace Episcopal Church in No. Attleboro.

She enjoyed gardening and crafting.

Besides her husband of 64 years, survivors include a son, John Hickman and a daughter, Patricia Newberg, both of No. Attleboro, 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

She was sister of the late Laurance Keelen.

Funeral services wil be private.

Lorraine E. Higginbotham, 69

ATTLEBORO - Lorraine E. Higginbotham, 69, of Dexter Street died Monday morning, February 5, 2001 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. She was the wife of the late Arthur J. Higginbotham. Born December 23, 1931 in Attleboro, she was a daughter of the late Cyril E. and Janette E. (Bastille) Cote, she was a lifelong resident of Attleboro.

Mrs. Higginbotham was a homemaker most of her life and enjoyed, most of all, spending time with her family. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Attleboro and was a past member of the American Legion Women’s Auxillary, Post #312 of Attleboro.

Her survivors include; two sons, Stephen A. and John A. Higginbotham, both of Attleboro; a daughter, Susan J. Meyer of Attleboro; two sisters, Anita Graveline of Harwich and Irene Bessette of Pawtucket; two brothers, Leo and Roger Cote, both of Florida; 4 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was also sister of the late Romeo Cote.

A memorial Mass was celebrated in St. Joseph Church, So. Main St., Attleboro on Friday, February 9 at 10 A.M. Burial was in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701. Arrangements are provided by SPERRY & MCHOUL FUNERAL HOME, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro.

Bernard R. Jellerson, Jr., 56

NORTH ATTLEBORO - Bernard R. Jellerson, Jr., 56, of East Street died Saturday morning, January 20, 2001 in his home. He was the husband of Judith (Beaton) Jellerson.

Born April 13, 1944 in Rockland, Maine, he was a son of Bernard R. Jellerson, Sr. and the late Margaret (Gould) Jellerson. He has been a resident of North Attleboro for over 20 years and grew up in Danvers. He was a 1962 graduate of Holton High School in Danvers. He then attended Merrimack College.

Mr. Jellerson worked for the Jan Company in Rhode Island, owners of Burger King and other fast food restaurants, as a restaurant manager for 25 years before his retirement due to disability in 1999.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving 1 tour in the Vietnam War as a Green Beret Pathfinder. He was a great supporter of North Attleboro Pop Warner Junior Football for which he helped officiate games. He also loved gardening.

In addition to his wife and father, survivors include five sons, David, Patrick, Clesson and Michael Jellerson all of Utah and Richard Jellerson of North Attleboro;

a brother, David Jellerson of Beverly;

2 sisters, Kathleen Newman of Gloucester and Susan Comer of Sanborn, NY.

He is also survived by 8 grandchildren.

A funeral was held from the SPERRY & McHOUL FUNERAL HOME, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro on Tuesday, January 23rd at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church at 10 a.m.

Visitation was Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the North Attleboro Scholarship Foundation, PO BOX 926, North Attleboro, MA 02761.

Thelma M. Jordan, 69

NORTON - Thelma M. Jordan, 69, of Norton died in her home Sunday morning, January 7, 2001.

She was the wife of James F. Jordan.

Born September 2, 1931 in Malden, she was the daughter of the late Eli and Alice (Brown) Avery. She was a graduate of Malden High School and has been a resident of Norton since 1965.

Mrs. Jordan retired as a hostess at Ann’s Place Restaurant in Norton after 25 years there as a waitress and hostess.

In addition to her husband, survivors include two sons, Martin J. Jordan of Portland, ME and Robert A. Jordan of Norton; a daughter, Catherine M. Jordan of Mansfield; a sister, Phyllis Wood of Florida and 10 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter.

Private arrangements are with the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, North Attleboro.

Dorothy M. Lightfoot, 70

PLAINVILLE, MA- Dorothy M. Lightfoot, 70, of Ft.Pierce, FL and Plainville, MA died at home in Florida on February 16, 2001 after a prolonged illness.

She was the wife of Paul Lightfoot for 31 years.

Born April 13, 1930 in Franklin, MA, she was a daughter of the late James and Helen (Sterns) Cochrane. She worked for 20 years at the Foxboro Co. as a secretary and later at Bliss Bros.

Mrs. Lightfoot was a member of the First Congregational Church of North Attleboro.

In addition to her husband, survivors include a daughter, Cheryl Vadala; a grandson, AJ Vadala III and a son, Keith Lightfoot all of North Attleboro; also a niece and a nephew.

She was mother of the late Linda Merriam and sister of the late James Cochrane.

A celebration of her life will be held in the First Congregational Church of North Attleboro, Old Post Road, will be announced at a later date.

All arrangements are under the direction of SPERRY & McHOUL FUNERAL HOME.

In lieu of flowers, and at the family’s request, donations may be made in her memory to the First Congregational Church, 675 Old Post Road, North Attleboro, MA 02760.

Charles Manoogian
Dental Lab Owner
NORTH ATTLEBORO - Charles Manoogian, 76, of Blue Rock Hill Lane died Thursday evening, February 15, 2001 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was the husband of Rose (Balian) Manoogian.

Born September 4, 1924 in Worcester, he was a son of the late Missak and Yevnige (Papazian) Manoogian. Mr. Manoogian grew up in Worcester and was a 1942 graduate of Commerce High School in Worcester. He has been a resident of North Attleboro for the past 8 years and previously lived in Attleboro for 45 years.

He was a dental technician before his retirement in 1999 and owned Attleboro Dental Lab for 50 years.

Mr. Manoogian was a member of Bristol Lodge AF & AM and enjoyed the stock market and charting stocks. He was also a World War II Veteran of the Air Force Medical Corps.

In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Attny. David Manoogian; a daughter, Marcia Manoogian both of North Attleboro; three brothers, Kasper Serijan of Yarmouth Port, John Manoogian of Reading and Arthur Manoogian of Foxboro; three grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Vahe and Mary Serijanian.

A funeral was held on Monday, February 19 at 9:15 a.m. from the SPERRY & McHOUL FUNERAL HOME, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro followed by a funeral in Trinity Episcopal Church, Congress Street, Milford at 10:30 a.m. Burial was in Vernon Grove Cemetery, Milford. Visiting was held on Sunday from 3-7 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Sts. Vartanantz Church, 402 Broadway, Providence, RI 02909.
