Mildred K. (McDermott) McCarthy, 74
Of Auburndale died suddenly Thursday at the Newton-Wellesley Hospital. Born in Waltham, she had been a long time resident here, having lived in Natick for several years and having lived in Auburndale for the past 10 years. Mrs. McCarthy a communicant of Corpus Christi Church of Auburndale was a member of Heaven's Helpers of Corpus Christi Church.
She was the wife of the late Thomas J. McCarthy. She is survived by her children Mrs. Stephen (Judith) Striebel of Carmel, Indiana, Thomas J. McCarthy of East Sandwich, Richard E. McCarthy of Auburndale and Mrs. Danny (Sarah) DeCoteau of Barre, Vermont, and her sister Beverly Gorman of Buffalo, New York. In addition she leaves 9 grandchildren & one great grandchild.
Services will be held Tuesday morning from the Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, Waltham with a Mass of Christian Burial at Corpus Christi Church, 41 Ash Street, Auburndale at 10: 00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, at 12: 30 p.m. Visiting Hours will be at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 8: 30 a.m. to 9: 30 a.m.

Carmela Guzzi
1906 - 2000
Carmela (Bruno) Guzzi
Formerly of Belmont & West Newton died Thursday at the Neville Manor in Cambridge.
Mrs. Guzzi, an accomplished musician was well known as "Carmel Bruno" in Boston entertainment circles especially for her 28 years at Hotel Essex in Boston. She was the wife of Vito Guzzi, and the sister of the late Tony, Peter, Joseph & Orlando Bruno.
She was the loving and devoted mother of Theresa Lupo of Deerfield Beach, Florida and Scituate, and Richard W. Guzzi of Worcester; sister of Louis Bruno, Josephine Previte, and Margaret Trapani; the loving and devoted grandmother of Richard Lupo, Victor Lupo-McDonald, Valerie Lupo and David, Paul, Steven, and Gary Guzzi and many nieces and nephews who have loving memories of their aunt.
Services will be held Monday morning at 8: 30 a.m. from the Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, Waltham, with a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Bernard's Church, 1532 Washington Street, West Newton at 9: 30 a.m. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Waltham. Visiting hours will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 3-7 p.m.

Cristina O'Brien
1956 - 2000
Cristina L. (Lobo) O'Brien, 43, of Belmont, died Sunday afternoon June 4, 2000 in her home after a long illness. She was 43.
Born and raised in Brazil, Mrs. O'Brien has been a Belmont resident for the past 8 years, and lived for a short period of time in Watertown. She was employed with the Town of Framingham in the School Department.
She is survived by her two loving children Rebecca L. and Sean Matthew O'Brien both of Belmont, and their father John O'Brien of Watertown. In addition she is survived by 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
Services will be held from the Brasco & Sons Memorial Chapels, 325 Trapelo Road, BELMONT, on Thursday morning at 8: 30 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Bernards Church, 1523 Washington Street, West Newton, Mass. At 10: 00 a.m. Relatives and frienda re respectfully invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be in the funeral home on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
Expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the R.S.O. Fund c/o Belmont Savings Bank, 78 Trapelo Road, Belmont, Mass. 02478.

Francis Cartwright
1924 - 2000
Frank C. Cartwright, 75, of North Hampton, New Hampshire, died early Saturday morning June 24, 2000 in his home after a long illness and complications due to Multiple sclerosis.
Born and raised in Winthrop, Mr. Cartwright for many years lived in Dorchester raising his family, he lived for 5 years in Waltham and for the past 19 years in North Hampton, New Hampshire.
Mr. Cartwright was employed with the University of New Hampshire for seven years receiving the Presidential Award of Excellence for service to the University.
Mr. Cartwright served with the United States Army & the Coast Guard during World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post #35 of North Hampton, N.H. He was a member of the Parents without Partners Boston Chapter.
He was son of the late Leon and Irene (Morris) Cartwright, and brother of the late Virginia McGlincy, step-father of the late Timothy Charles Keohane.
He is survived by his loving wife Margaret T. "Meg" (Fenton) Keohane Cartwright, his daughter Cheryl Kearney and her husband Michael of East Bridgewater, his son Frank Cartwright of Taunton, and step-daughters Tracy (Keohane) Pavone and her husband Paul of Waltham, Karen Robles and her husband Joseph of East Bridgewater, and step-son Anthony Egitto of Holbrook. His sister Irene Bianco and her husband Alan of Winthrop. His mother-in-law Margaret Fenton of North Hampton, N.H. Also survived by his loving grandchildren Vanessa, Michael, and Valerie Kearney & Amanda Mary and Nicolas Pavone.
Services will be held from the Brasco & Sons Memorial 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM, on Wednesday morning at 11: 00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 857 Trapelo Road, Waltham at 12: 00 p.m. Interment will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the AIDS Response - Seacoast, 1 Junkins Ave., Portsmouth, N.H. 03801, in loving memory of Timothy C. Keohane.

John McDonald
1948 - 2000
John J. McDonald, Jr., 51 of Medfield died suddenly Thursday at the Norwood Hospital.
Born and raised in West Newton. He has lived in Medfield for the last 22 years. Mr. McDonald had been employed for more than 17 years at Raytheon Engineers & Constructors as a chemical engineer. He had most recently been employed with BAU Hopkins over the past few years. Mr. McDonald attended Boston College High School before graduating from Tufts University. He was devoted to his family as well as his work. He had been a member of the Knights of Columbus in West Newton before moving to Medfield.
He was the son of the late John J. McDonald, Jr. Loving husband of Elena (Falzone) McDonald, devoted father of Kara Ann McDonald of Walpole. Son of Jean (Pawlowski) McDonald of Nashua, NH and the brother of Jean Marie McDonald of Waltham, and Julianna Fitzmaurice of Hollis, NH. He also leaves his mother-in-law Ellen Falzone of Waltham and 2 nieces and 3 nephews.
Services will be held from the Brasco & Sons Memorial 325 Trapelo Road, BELMONT on Monday morning at 9: 00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Church, 311 River St., Waltham, at 10: 00 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Interment will be at Newton Cemetery. Parking attendants will be on duty. . In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to the Arthritis Foundation, 29 Craft Street, Newton, Mass 02465.

Gerard Chiasson
1951 - 2000
Gerard J. Chiasson of Waltham, died suddenly Wednesday June 14, 2000 in his home in Waltham. He was 48.
Born in Brighton, Mr. Chiasson has been a lifelong resident of Waltham. Mr. Chiasson was a graduate of Waltham High School Class of 1969. He furthered his education at Bentley College in Waltham.
Mr. Chiasson was Owner & Operator of Chiasson Metals of Waltham since 1981.
He was son of the late Marie R. (Arsenault) Chiasson and is survived by his daughter Julie A. Chiasson of Watertown and son Michael T. Chiasson of Waltham. He is also survived by his loving father Arthur G. Chiasson of Waltham and his sisters Rose M. Haskell of Virginia, Anne Chiasson of New Mexico, Eveline Wheeler of Ayer, and Helen Chiasson of Milford and his brothers Arthur P. Chiasson of Waltham, John T. Chiasson of Virginia, Robert Chiasson of Acton, Ronald Chiasson of California, and Frank Chiasson of Waltham. Formerly married to Mary (LaRosa) Chiasson of Waltham. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and several great nieces & nephews.
Services will be held from the Brasco & Sons Memorial 773 Moody Street, Waltham on Saturday morning at 10: 00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Joseph’s Church, Main Street, Waltham at 11: 00 a.m. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held in the funeral home on Friday 2-4 & 6-9 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.

Frank Marobella
1914 - 2000
Frank J. Marobella of Waltham, died Thursday evening June 8, 2000, in the Massachusetts General Hospital after a brief illness. He was 86.
Born in Cambridge, Mr. Marobella has been a Waltham Resident for the past 45 years.
Mr. Marobella was employed as Facility Manager at Harvard University in Cambridge for 32 years.
He was Chief Judge for the C.Y.O. Drum and Bugle Corp., Judge for the Drum Corp. International, Saint Joseph’s Drill Team Captain, President Harvard University Bowling League, and in 1982 was Parade Marshall for the City of Waltham.
A passion for Ballroom and Swing dancing, Mr. & Mrs. Marobella were Swing Dance Champions.
He was son of the late Carmen and Concetta Marobella.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Marie D. (Alcaro) Marobella.
His sons Frank R. Marobella of Wayland and Paul R. Marobella of Chestnut Hill. His brother Terry Marobella of North Reading. Loving grandfather of Lisa, Chris, Paul Jr., and Brian Marobella. Great Grandfather of Anna Marobella. Father-in-law of Susan (Manning) Marobella, Diane (Castellano) Marobella, and Sally (Buter) Marobella.
Services will be held from the Brasco & Sons Memorial 325 Trapelo Road, BELMONT, on Tuesday morning at 9: 00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Comforter of Afflicted Church, 857 Trapelo Road, Waltham at 10: 00 a.m. Interment will follow in Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held in the funeral home on Sunday & Monday 5-8 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.

Marilyn Sheehan Marilyn Sheehan
1930 - 2000
Marilyn Sheehan, 70 of Waltham, died on Friday July 7, 2000 at the Mt. Auburn Hospital in Cambridge from complications due to CHF (congested heart failure) at the age of 70.
Preceded in death her late husband James P. Sheenhan. She was born in Cambridge, Ma. on July 2, 1930. Marilyn was the daughter of the late Mary (Harrington) Bowles who came from Glengarriff Ireland and Michael J. Bowles.
She was a resident of Waltham for more than 30 years and retired from the American Fund Raiser.
Mariyln was a loving kind person and very sociable. She would make strangers feel like they had known her for years. She also very much enjoyed the closeness of her family especially at family outings. She enjoyed Irish music and watching her children, grandchildren, nieces , and nephews grow up.
She will be missed by all. She is survived by her son and his wife James M. and Christine (Cooper) Sheenhan of Seward Alaska, her daughter Maureen Sheehan of Waltham, Ma., her brothers and their wives Michael and Margret Bowles of Holliston, Ma., Jack and Cathy Bowles of Watertown , Ma. She is also survived by her sister and her husband Ann (Bowles) and Paul Murphy of Waltham, Ma.
Services will be held from the Brasco and Sons Memorial 773 Moody Street , WALTHAM on Tuesday morning at 8: 00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Mary’s Church, Waltham at 9: 00 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Monday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge. Parking attendants will be on duty.

Lois Harrelson
1940 - 2000
LOIS ANN HARRELSON, 60, of Woburn, died Saturday afternoon July 15, 2000 in the Beverly Nursing Center after a long illness. She was 60.
Born in Boston, Mrs. Harrelson was raised in Waltham and lived most of her life before moving to Woburn where she resided for over 22 years.
Mrs. Harrelson graduated from Waltham High School in 1958. She was employed with General Wholesale of Waltham as a Freight Expediter.
She was a member of the Parents without Partners Association, and enjoyed bowling and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was daughter of the late Henry T. and Anna W. (Knopp) Smith.
She is survived by her daughters Mrs. Frank (Kimberly) A. Sottile of Northfield, her sons Bryant Gould and Michael Harrelson both of Northfield. Also survived by 4 loving grandchildren Russell, Frank, Liana, and Jake Sottile.
A Funeral Service will be celebrated in the Chapel of the Brasco & Sons Memorial 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM, on Wednesday afternoon at 3: 00 p.m. Interment will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday 1-3 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
