Eleanor M. (Costa) Silva, 83, died at Sunbridge Nursing Home in Weymouth on Wednesday, January 23 after a period of failing health. She is the wife of the late Manuel Silva. Born and educated in Fairhaven, MA, Mrs. Silva was a longtime resident of Stoughton before living in Brockton and E. Bridgewater for a short time. She was a housewife at home with her family and was a part-time clerk at J.J. Newberry's in Stoughton Center years ago. She enjoyed traveling and playing cards with her neighbors. Mrs. Silva was devoted to her husband and her family.
Mrs. Silva is survived by her children, Nancy A. Flack of Oriskany, NY, Jean Pina of Brockton, Shirley O. Scibetta of Stoughton, Peter J. Silva of Weymouth and E. Patricia Dupuy of E. Bridgewater, as well as a sister, Pauline Andrade of CA. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday at 8: 15 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church at 9 AM. Visiting Hours will be Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Donations in Eleanor's memory may be sent to Shriners Hospital, 516 Carew St., Springfield, 01104. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Stoughton.

AMERICO "MAC" CORREIA

Americo J. "Mac" Correia, 80, died unexpectedly Friday, January 18 at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. He was the husband of the late Gloria L. (Washburn). Born in South Easton, he attended Easton Schools. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WW II, serving in France and Germany. Mr. Correia worked for Dentch Ford in Stoughton as a car preparer for over 40 years. He has been a resident of Stoughton for 30 years. In his free time he enjoyed greyhound racing and playing the lottery.
He was the father of John Correia and his wife Joan of Stoughton. He also leaves his grandchildren Gregory and Kristen Correia. He was predeceased by his sister Peggy Alves.
Memorial Services will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday at 10AM. Visiting Hours prior to service from 8: 30-10 AM. Please omit flowers per request of family, donations can be made in Mac's memory to charity of your choice.

GEORGE E. POTTER

George E. Potter, 81, died Friday, January 18, 2002 at the Meadowbrook Nursing Home of Canton. He was the husband of Gretta E. (Ehret) Potter. Born in Hornell, NY he was a graduate of Alfred High School in New York and attended Rochester Institute of Technology. He was a WW II Veteran of the United States Navy. He worked as a Plant engineer for King-Sealy-Thermos in Norwich, CT for many years. He was a member of several professional organizations. Mr. Potter was an avid golfer and also enjoyed carpentry. He was a communicant of the Union Baptist Church in Mystic, CT and was on the Board of Trustees there.
In addition to his wife, he leaves his children: Mark E. Potter of London, England, Shelly K. Potter-Abrahamsen of NJ and Molly P. Notkin of Canton. Also survived by 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at the First United Methodist Church on Tuesday, January 22 at 7 PM. Visiting hours Omitted. Donations in his memory may be made to Alzheimers Association, 1 Kendall Square, Bldg 200, Cambridge, 02142.

MARIA BALDES

Maria N. Baldes, 82, died Monday at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. She was the wife of Antonio F. Baldes. Born in Flores, Azores, Portugal, she immigrated to the United States many years ago. She worked as an assembly person for Corcoran Shoe in Stoughton for 18 years and retired 10 years ago.
In addition to her husband, she leaves her children Joao A. Baldes and Norberto F. Baldes both of Stoughton, Maria Corvelo of Portugal and Antonio Furtado of Stoughton. She was the sister of Natalia Furtado of Portugal and the late Jose Furtado and Irene Furtado. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday at 8: 15AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Tuesday, January 22 from 5-8 PM. Burial will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Stoughton.

DAMASO L. NOIA

Funeral Mass: Tuesday, January 22, 9 AM, Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton St., Stoughton.
Damaso L. Noia, 87, died at Sunbridge Care & Rehab. For Randolph on Friday, January 18 after a period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Isaura (Avelar) Noia. Born and educated in Flores, Azores, Portugal, Mr. Noia has lived in Stoughton for 18 years. He was a farmer in Flores for many years before retiring and moving to Stoughton. He was a member of Club Luis de Camoes in Stoughton.
Mr. Noia is survived by his sons, Jose A. Noia of Stoughton and Antonio A. Noia of Brockton, as well as his sisters, Julia Ventura of Portugal and Ana Barcelos of New Bedford. Along with his wife Isaura, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday at 8: 15 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton at 9 AM. Visiting Hours will be held Monday from 6-8 PM. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Stoughton.

JOHN T. HENDRICKSON

Funeral Service: Saturday, January 19, 10 AM, Chapel at Knollwood Memorial Park, High St., Canton.
John T. Hendrickson, 86, died at Blue Hills Alzheimer's Care Center in Stoughton on Thursday, January 17 after a period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Rita M. (Toomey) Hendrickson. Born in Cambridge, Mr. Hendrickson was educated in Woonsocket, RI schools and then Canton High School. He has been a resident of Canton since 1945. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and received the Purple Heart. He worked as a sheet metal worker at Plymouth Rubber before working as a school custodian for the Town of Canton for many years. He retired due to disability in 1975. He was a member of the Machinist's Union in Boston, as well as the Canton Town Club. Mr. Hendrickson spent his winter's in Florida following his retirement.
Mr. Hendrickson is survived by his siblings, Elna Gay of N. Easton, Ruth Hendrickson Leary of Marion, Harry Josephson and Kenneth Josephson, as well as his nieces and nephews, Ann and Jim Whalen, Ellen and John Driscoll and Tricia and David Driscoll. He is also survived by many grand nieces and nephews. Along with his wife, Rita, he was predeceased by his sisters, Helga Moon, Doris Leary and Ellen Judge.
Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel at Knollwood Memorial Park, High St., Canton on Saturday at 10 AM. Visiting Hours omitted. Arrangements by Farley Funeral Home, Stoughton. Donations in John's memory may be sent to Alzheimer's Disease Assn., 1 Kendall SQ. Bldg. 200, Cambridge, 02139.

DAVID A. SCHNOPP

Memorial Service: Saturday, January 19, 11 AM, First Congregational Church, 29 N. Main St., Sharon.
David A. Schnopp, 55, died unexpectedly on Monday, January 14, after being stricken at his workplace. He was the husband of Marie (Russo) Schnopp. Mr. Schnopp was born in Pittsfield and was raised in Taunton. He was a graduate of Coyle High School in Taunton. Mr. Schnopp was also a graduate of Providence College. Mr. Schnopp was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War, where he received the Purple Heart. He was the owner of the Stoughton Nautilus-Genesis Health Center in Stoughton for over 23 years. In his free time, he loved golfing and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, Marie, he leaves his children: Kristy Hunt and her husband David of Walpole, Jay Schnopp of Norton and Jennifer Wiseman-Schnopp of Jamaica Plain. He was the son of David P. Schnopp and Tullie (DiMallio) Schnopp of Taunton. He was the brother of Linda Layne of New Bedford and Margaret "Peggy" Baim of Wayland and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at the First Congregational Church, 29 N. Main St., Sharon, on Saturday at 11 AM. Donations in Dave's memory may be made to National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 101 First Ave., Suite 6, Waltham, MA 02154.

CARMELO J. "CARL" GUGLIA

Carmelo J. "Carl the Barber" Guglia, 88, a longtime barber in Easton, died Wednesday at the Cape Cod Nursing Home in Buzzards Bay. He was the husband of Mary E. (Price). Born in Genoa, Italy, he moved to Brockton at age 12. He was raised in Brockton and was a graduate of Brockton Schools. Mr. Guglia was a WW II Veteran of the US Army. He owned Carl's Barber Shop in Easton for over 50 years and was a barber in the area for over 60 years. He retired in 1994. He was a member of Bocce Club in Brockton. In his free time he enjoyed playing cards and was an avid bowler.
In addition to his wife Mary, he leaves his children: David L. of Stoughton, Carmela T. "Kay" Amirault of Plymouth, and Dale W. of Danvers. Brother of Mary Hardy and Claire Buckley both of Brockton and Linda Douillette of Lakeville. Also survived by 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Monday, Aug. 5 at 11AM. Visiting hours Sunday from 2-5 PM. Donations in Carl's memory may be sent to Alzheimer's Assoc, 36 Cameron Ave., Cambridge, 02140.

FREDERICK J. GEROUX

Funeral Mass: Wednesday, July 31, Time to be announced, Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton St., Stoughton.
Frederick J. Geroux, 61, died unexpectedly at Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Friday, July 26. He was the husband of Maxine (Kirk) Geroux. Born in Burlington, VT, Mr. Geroux was educated in Vermont and Milford, MA schools. He has resided in Stoughton for the last 40 years. Mr. Geroux was a U.S. Navy Veteran during the Cuban Missile Crisis and the Vietnam Era. He worked as a mechanic for Canada Dry Beverage Co. for 15 years before retiring in 1979 due to illness. He was an Usher at Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton for several years.
In addition to his wife Maxine, Mr. Geroux is survived by his children, Frederick J.Geroux, Jr. of Buzzards Bay and Heidi Geroux of Bourne, as well as his mother, Mary (Pecor) Petrini of Milford. He is also survived by his siblings, Clifford Geroux of Milford, Joseph Geroux, of Ludlow, Roger Geroux of Mansfield, Robert Geroux of Florida, Richard Geroux of Nashua, NH, Geraldine Marchand of Blackstone, Kimberly Parseau and Lorraine Geroux both of Milford, as well as 9 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Frederick Geroux.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday at a time to be announced followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 9 AM. Visiting Hours will be held Tuesday from 4-8 PM. Donations in Fred's memory may be sent to American Heart Assn., 20 Speen St., Framingham, 01701. Interment will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.

BERVINDA E. "BEVERLY" (GONSALVES) FERNANDES

Funeral Mass: Tuesday, July 30, 9 AM, St. James Church, 560 Page St., Stoughton.
Bervinda E. "Beverly" (Gonsalves) Fernandes, 74, died at home in Stoughton on Saturday, July 27 after a period of failing health. She was the wife of Bernard Fernandes. Born in E. Taunton, Mrs. Fernandes was educated in Stoughton Schools and lived most of her life in Stoughton. She worked as an assembler at Northup Electronics in Norwood for 22 years and has been retired for over 10 years. Mrs. Fernandes was a member of the Portuguese National Club in Stoughton. She was very devoted to her family.
In addition to her husband, Bernard, Mrs. Fernandes was survived by her children, Bernard C. Fernandes, Rose T. Foulsham, Elizabeth R. Fullerton and Margaret A. "Peggy" DeLorey all of Stoughton, as well as her siblings, Albert Gonsalves of Florida, Vasco Gonsalves of California, Alice Armando of Canton, Theresa Shabata of Hawaii and Sally Pechonis of Stoughton. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Frank Gonsalves, Clarence Gonsalves, James Gonsalves and Edward Gonsalves and her sisters, Pal Gonsalves, Elvira Celidonio and Mary Smith.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday at 8: 15 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. James Church, Stoughton at 9 AM. Visiting Hours will be held Monday from 4-8 PM. Donations in Beverly's memory may be sent to Old Colony Hospice, 14 Page Terr., Stoughton, 02072. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Stoughton.
