KENNETH C. GILES

Funeral Service: Tuesday, July 30, 10 AM, United Church of Christ, 1541 Washington St., Canton.
Kenneth C. Giles, 73, died at Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Friday, July 26 after a period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Marion E. (Payne) Giles. Born and raised in Bucksport, Maine, Mr. Giles was a graduate of Bucksport High School. He has resided in Stoughton for the past 42 years. Mr. Giles was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a Shipper and Receiver at Controller Service in Avon for many years before retiring years ago and drove YCN Vans part-time after his retirement. Mr. Giles was very active in Stoughton Little League and Stoughton Bowling Leagues. He was a member of Masonic Rising Star Lodge AF & AM in Stoughton, American Legion in Canton and AMVETS in Stoughton.
Mr. Giles is survived by his daughter, Doreen M. Grover and her husband Rick of Holbrook, his grandchildren, Ashley and Brittany Grover and his siblings, Don Clouston of California, Robert Giles of Florida, Pat Jenkins and Barry Giles both of Maine. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and true friends.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Service at United Church of Christ, 1541 Washington St., Canton at 10 AM. Visiting Hours will be held Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Donations in Ken's memory may be sent to Joslin Diabetes Ctr., 1 Joslin Place, Boston, 02215. Interment will take place at VA National Cemetery in Bourne.

ELLEN B. (BARRIE) McLAIN
Visiting Hours: Thursday, July 25, 2002, 5-8 PM.
Funeral Mass: Friday, July 26, 9 AM, Immaculate Conception Church, 193 Main St., N. Easton.
Ellen B. (Barrie) McLain, 85, died at Blue Hills Alzheimer's Care Center in Stoughton on Tuesday, July 23 after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Melvin J. McLain. Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Mrs. McLain was educated in Boston Schools. She was a resident of Easton for 42 years. She was a shoe worker at Morse Shoe in Canton for 25 years before retiring 20 years ago.
Mrs. McLain is survived by her children, Nancy C. White of Bridgewater, Ellen Gallagher of Florida and Kathleen M. Duggan of S. Easton, as well as her sisters, Grace Bilodeau of W. Roxbury and Freda Shea of Massachusetts. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Along with her husband, Melvin, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Thomas Barrie, Margaret Crawford, Jess Hollis and Elizabeth MacMasters.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Easton at 9 AM. Visiting Hours will be held Thursday from 5-8 PM. Interment will take place at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Easton. Donations in Ellen's memory may be sent to Blue Hills Alzheimer Care Center, 1044 Park St., Stoughton, 02072.

MAE R. (WADMAN) DAVIS

Funeral Service: Saturday, July 27, 10 AM, Farley Funeral Home
Mae R. (Wadman) Davis, 81, died at Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Saturday, July 20 after a lengthy illness. She was the daughter of the late Alfred and Frances (Rounds) Wadman. Born and educated in Boston, Mrs. Davis was a resident of Stoughton for over 50 years. She worked as a Dental Assistant and Office Manager for Dr. Walent and Dr. Brickell in Stoughton for over 30 years. She retired 16 years ago.
Mrs. Davis is survived by her children, Carole F. Paige of Stoughton and Barbara N. (Deninger) Heiberg and her husband James of Billerica, her grandchildren, Jeannette (Deninger) Townsend and her husband Stephen of Swampscott and Danee Deninger and her fiancée Kevin Santman of Marblehead, her step-granddaughter, Kate Heiberg of Carlisle and her great-grandchildren, Victoria and Michael Townsend of Swampscott, Kachina Studer and Amber Santman of Marblehead. She was preceded in death by her son, George Nelson and her siblings, Frances Wadman, Mildred Harworth, Alfred Wadman and Charles Herbert Wadman.
Funeral Service will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday at 10 AM. Friends and Relatives are cordially invited to attend the Visiting Hours Friday from 5-8 PM. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton. Expressions of sympathy may be made in Mae's memory to Caritas Visiting Nurse Assn., 3 Edgewater Dr., Norwood, 02062.

EDWIN S. DAVIS

Graveside Service: Monday, July 22, 11 AM, Dry Pond Cemetery, Corner of Bay Rd. and Plain St., Stoughton.
Edwin S. Davis, 86, died Tuesday, July 9 at University Hospital in Florida after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Frances G. (Jones) Davis. He was born in Stoughton and graduated from Stoughton High School. He was a longtime resident of Stoughton until moving to Florida over 20 years ago. Mr. Davis was a Salesman for Metropolitan Life in Brockton for many years before working at Electrolux in Brockton. He retired 24 years ago. Mr. Davis was an avid baseball and football fan.
Along with his wife Frances, Mr. Davis is survived by his children, Edwin K. Davis of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Barbara Davis-Walnum of Amherst, NH, as well as his grandsons, Erik Walnum and Travis Walnum. He is also survived by his brother, Donald Davis of Stoughton. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Walter Davis, Kenneth Davis, Doris Mara and Ella Davis. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be held at Dry Pond Cemetery, Bay Rd., Stoughton on Monday at 11 AM. Visiting Hours omitted. Donations in Edwin's memory may be sent to Vitas Hospice Care, University Hospital, 7201 N. University Dr., Tamarac, FL 33321.

JOSEPH L. LeBLANC, JR.
Visiting Hours: Tuesday, September 24, 5-8 PM.
Funeral Mass: Wednesday, September 25, 9 AM, Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 1262 Park Street, Stoughton.
Joseph L. LeBlanc , Jr., 70, died at Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Saturday, September 21 after a period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Mona (Mahanna) LeBlanc . Born in Boston, Mr. LeBlanc was a graduate of Hyde Park High School and Northeastern University Class of 1958. He has resided in Stoughton for 41 years. Mr. LeBlanc was an Electrical Engineer at Itek-Litton in Lexington for 29 years before working at United Technologies-Adaptive Optics in Cambridge for 5 years. He retired in 1999. Mr. LeBlanc was a Servo Engineer on the NASA Viking Mission in 1976. He was a member of the Stoughton Fish and Game Assn. and the National Rifle Assn.
Mr. LeBlanc is survived by his children, Denise LeBlanc -Martin of Harwich, Stephen LeBlanc of Wrentham and Paul LeBlanc of Stoughton, his grandchildren, Lauren LeBlanc , Mathew LeBlanc and Brian LeBlanc and his brother, James B. LeBlanc , Capt. USN Retired. Along with his wife Mona, Mr. LeBlanc was preceded in death by his grandson, Alexander LeBlanc .
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday at 8: 15 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Stoughton at 9 AM. Visiting Hours will be held Tuesday from 5-8 PM. Donations in Joseph's memory may be sent to Children's Hospital, 300 Longwood Ave., Boston, 02115 or American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, 01701. Interment will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.

ODESSA S. (DODSON) GRIFFIN
Visiting Hours: Wednesday, September 25, 11 AM- 12 Noon.
Funeral Service: Wednesday, September 25, 12 Noon, Farley Funeral Home.
Odessa S. (Dodson) Griffin, 83, died at home in Stoughton on Wednesday, September 18 after a lengthy illness. Born in Chattanooga, TN, Mrs. Griffin was educated in Tennessee Schools and graduated from Tennessee State University. She has resided in Stoughton for the past 10 years. She was a Nursery School Teacher in Chattanooga for many years before retiring 20 years ago. She was active in many church organizations at First United Methodist Church in Stoughton and was a member of Order of Eastern Star.
Mrs. Griffin is survived by her daughter, Barbara J. Tisdale of Stoughton and her sister, Kitty Winton of Stoughton. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday, September 25 at 12 Noon. Visiting Hours prior to service from 11 AM. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Stoughton.

ELLEN S. (SIMPSON) ROMAN

Funeral Service: Monday, September 23, 11 AM, Farley Funeral Home.
Ellen S. (Simpson) Roman, 85, died Wednesday at her home in Stoughton. She was the wife of the late Louis F. Roman. Born in Lawrence, she was a graduate of Lawrence High School. She was also a graduate of Boston City Hospital School of Nursing. Mrs. Roman was a veteran of the US Army Nursing Corps, where she was a Second Lieutenant. She worked as a Registered Nurse at the Milton Hospital for about 15 years until 1970. She then worked at the Braemoor Nursing Home in Brockton for about 10 years and retired in 1980. Mrs. Roman also was a volunteer at the St. Paul's Episcopal Church soup kitchen in Brockton for many years. She also volunteered at the Avon Baptist Church Thrift Shop for many years. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by her three sons: David L. Roman of Bridgewater, Walter J. Roman of Peterborough, NH, and Paul S. Roman of Foxboro. She was the sister of Louise Foley of NY, John Simpson of N. Andover and the late Thomas Simpson and Marion Grossman. Also survived by 5 grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Monday at 11 AM. Visiting Hours prior to service starting from 10-11 AM. Donations in Ellen's memory may be sent to Avon Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 119 N. Main St., Avon 02322. Burial will follow at VA National Cemetery, Bourne.

ELIZABETH A. (GREEN) HAMMOND

Funeral Service: Saturday, September 21, 11: 30 AM, Farley Funeral Home.
Elizabeth A. (Green) Hammond, 67, died Wednesday at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. Born in Lynn, MA, she was a graduate of Lynn Schools and Lynn Classical High School. Mrs. Hammond worked as a secretary at Polaroid in Norwood, Waltham and Cambridge for over 20 years. She retired in 1998. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Stoughton.
She is survived by her children: Vivian F. Hammond, Paul B. Hammond, Jr., Darryl S. Hammond, and George G. Hammond all of Stoughton. She was the sister of Alan Green of Lynn. Mrs. Hammond is also survived by 3 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday at 11: 30 AM. Visiting Hours prior to the service from 10-11: 30 AM. Interment will be private.

EDITH E. (SANDSTROM) JOHNSON
Visiting Hours: Monday, September 16, 2002 from 4-8 PM.
Funeral Services: Tuesday, September 17, 2002, 10 AM, First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 900 Main Street, Brockton.
Edith E. Johnson, 88, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died Friday at the West Acres Nursing Home in Brockton. She was the wife of the late Walter E. Johnson. Born in Stockholm, ME, she was a graduate of Stockholm Schools. She lived in Stoughton since 1953. Mrs. Johnson worked as a nurses aide at the Norfolk Nursing Home in Stoughton for several years and retired many years ago. She was active at the Christ the King Lutheran Church in Stoughton.
She leaves her children: Philip W. of Stoughton, Inda A. Stora of NY and Harold R. "Dick" Johnson of Stoughton. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held in the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 900 Main St., Brockton on Tuesday at 10 AM. Visiting hours will held at the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Monday from 4-8 PM. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.

JAMES L. CONNOLLY
Visiting Hours: Sunday, September 15, 2002 from 4-8 PM.
Funeral Mass: Monday, September 16, 2002, 9 AM, Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton St., Stoughton.
James L. Connolly, 68, died at home on Thursday after a period of declining health. He was the husband of Sheila A. (Murphy). Born in Boston, he was raised in Randolph and a graduate of Stetson High School. He was a proud veteran of the US Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a Truck Driver for Intercity Transportation in Easton and for Redempco in Avon. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 653 in Brockton and the Braintree Rifle Club.
In addition to his wife Sheila, he is survived by his daughters, Lauren Morris of Stoughton, Ann Woldrich and Joyce Goodrich both of FL and Bernadette McIlrath of Hadley. He was the brother of Lawrence Connolly of Rockland, Blanche Hanlon of Randolph, Irene McNulty of FL and the late Joseph, George, Mary Fernald and Bernadette Burns-Khoury. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Chelsea and Frankie will never forget their Grandpa.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Monday at 8: 15 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Sunday 4-8 PM. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
