CHARLES J. MURPHY, JR.

Charles J. Murphy Jr. of Bronson, FL, formerly of Brockton and Dorchester, died unexpectedly Thursday at Nature Coast Hospital in Williston, FL. He was 71. He was the husband of Katherine Mary Farley Murphy and the late Marie F. (Gosse) Murphy. Mr. Murphy was born in Dorchester, and was a graduate of Dorchester Schools. He was a veteran of the US Air Force. He was a resident of Brockton from 1964-1995 and move to Florida in 1995. He was a longtime employee of Boston Edison in their Plymouth Nuclear Power Plant, where he worked for 42 years and retired as a mechanical supervisor. He was a member of the AFL-CIO Local 369. He was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church in FL. He was an avid sportsman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and mostly teaching sportsmanlike hunting to his children and friends. Many years ago, Mr. Murphy was awarded the Governors Award for saving a human life. While working as a lineman for the Boston Edison, he rescued a young boy who fell through the ice. Some years later, he rescued another boy's life while swimming at the beach.
In addition to his wife Katherine Mary Farley Murphy, he is survived by his children: Maryellen Geoghan of Manhattan, N.Y., Charles J. Murphy III of Brockton, James Murphy of West Bridgewater, Janet Daly of Raynham, Mass., Marie Courteau of Brockton, George E. Farley Jr. and Scott T. Farley both of N.J. and Kathryn Ann Farley of Gainesville. He also leaves his siblings, Rosemarie Kelleher of Brockton and Sister Dorothea Murphy, RSM of Gainesville, FL, Gerald Murphy and Thomas Murphy, both of Dorchester and David Murphy of Walpole. He was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Marie F. Murphy and his brother Robert. He is also survived by six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Stoughton at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Tuesday 5-8 PM. Interment will be private. Donations in his memory may be made to Old Colony Hospice, 14 Page Terr., Stoughton, 02072.

MARY E. (McKENNA) DUNN

Funeral Mass: Monday, May 17, 9 AM, St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 103 Center St., Bridgewater.
Mary E. (McKenna) Dunn, 86, died on Friday, May 14 at Milton Hospital after a long illness. She was the wife of the late George F. Dunn. Born and educated in Dorchester, Mrs. Dunn resided there for many years before moving to Bridgewater 2 years ago. She was a housewife at home with her family. In her free time she enjoyed crocheting, ceramics and dancing.
Mrs. Dunn is survived by her children, Dorothy A. Slack of Brockton, Robert T. Dunn of LA and Barbara E. O'Malley of Milton, as well as her sisters, Ruth Cheever of Braintree and Gertrude Lowe of Quincy. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 14 great- grandchildren. In addition to her husband, George, Mrs. Dunn was preceded in death by her daughter, Joan F. Dunn and her brother, James McKenna.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Monday at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Bridgewater at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Sunday 2-6 PM. Donations in Mary's name may be made to My Brother's Keeper, PO Box 338, Easton, 02356. Burial to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater.

KATHLEEN JO (GREGORY) ROSA

Kathleen Jo (Gregory) Rosa died on May 8, 2004 at the age of 49 years old at Summerlin Medical Center in Las Vegas, Nevada from Breast Cancer complications. She is survived by her husband of nine years Daniel J. Rosa of Las Vegas, formerly of Stoughton. Born in Brockton, she was a graduate of Wareham High School, Class of 1973 and a graduate of Brockton Hospital School of Nursing in 1993. Kathleen was a registered nurse for 11 years. While a Director of Nurses at Torrey Pines Care Center in Las Vegas, Kathleen received 3 deficiency free surveys consecutively for the first time in State history.
Kathleen was a woman that touched the lives of all whom she came into contact with. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be forever missed by her family, friends, and colleagues.
In addition to her husband Daniel, she is survived by her four children; Anthony S. Thompson of Brockton, Ryan J. Thompson of Taunton, Katie J. Thompson of Brockton, and Sean P. Thompson of Taunton. She lovingly leaves behind her two sisters Angelina Heikkila of Lakeville and Christina Butler of East Bridgewater; one brother Angelo Gregory of Halifax, and one granddaughter Brooke Thompson.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Stoughton on Friday at 9 AM. Visiting Hours omitted. Donations in Kathleen's name may be made to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, PO Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265-0309. Burial will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery, Avon.

PHYLLIS M. (GRIFFIN) O'BRIEN

Phyllis M. (Griffin) O'Brien, 68, died at Boston Medical Center on Monday, May 10 after a period of failing health. She was the dear companion of Robert S. Brown of Canton. Born in Melrose, Mrs. O'Brien was a graduate of Reading High School and Hickox Business School in Boston. She has resided in Canton for 23 years after living in Stoughton for several years. She was a bookkeeper at Curry College in Milton for several years before becoming a homemaker for the last 23 years.
In addition to her companion Robert, Mrs. O'Brien is survived by her son, Kevin J. O'Brien of Canton, her granddaughter, Rebecca C. O'Brien and her sister, Linda J. Crowley.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Gerard Majella Church, Canton at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Interment will take place at Canton Corner Cemetery in Canton.

MICHAEL A. KUUSELA

Michael A. Kuusela, 41, died unexpectedly at home in Stoughton on Thursday, May 6. He was the husband of Lynn M. (Bradley) Kuusela. Born in Weymouth, he was educated in Abington schools and resided in Stoughton for the past 10 years. Mr. Kuusela was an Iron Worker for Local 7 in S. Boston for the past 11 years. He was a certified welder for bridges and structural steel and worked as a connector on the Big Dig. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and son.
In addition to his wife Lynn, Mr. Kuusela is survived by his children, Kristin M. Schoolcraft, Michael G. Schoolcraft and Melissa M. Schoolcraft all of Stoughton, his grandchildren, Deanna Agresti and Hayley Nichols and his mother, Marie (Thompson) Kuusela of Cape Cod. He is also survived by his siblings, Richard Kuusela and Barbara Kuusela both of Cape Cod and Diane Kuusela of TX and his nephew, Richard McIver. He was preceded in death by his father Oiva and his sister, Olga McIver.
Memorial Service will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday at 10 AM. Visiting Hours omitted. Donations in Michael's name may be made to Michael's Children, c/o Lynn Kuusela, 23 Edgewood Ave., Stoughton, 02072.

WILLIAM C. McLEOD

William C. McLeod, 76, loving husband of Eleanor M. (Carney) McLeod, passed away peacefully on April 30. Born February 29, 1928 in Boston, MA, to Hubert and Pearle (Fraser) McLeod, he was raised in Boston and a graduate of Boston Schools. A resident of Galloway Twp, NJ for 15 years, he was a resident of Stoughton for many years prior. Mr. McLeod worked as a Meter Reader for the Boston Edison for over 45 years. Mr. McLeod was an avid golfer who loved the outdoors. Throughout his life, he enjoyed memberships at several country clubs including Franklin Park, George Wright, Easton Country Club and currently at Pomona Golf Club in New Jersey. While a member at Pomona, he shot two holes in one, in 1992 and 1995, and was the Senior Club Champion in 1996 and 1998. He enjoyed spending time at the club with his family, especially his loving wife of 49 years, Ellie.
He will be sadly missed by his wife and his children, Karyn Macrina and her husband Mark of NJ, Charles and his wife Lisa of ME, Christine Horrigan and her husband Tim of Carver, Kathleen of NJ and William Scott McLeod and his fiancé Kathleen of Taunton. Beloved grandfather of Jill, Nathan, Hailee, Eli, Christopher, David, Samantha, Creedance, Amos, Angelo, Jubilee, Kassidy, William and Peyton.
Memorial Services will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday at 6 PM. Visiting Hours prior to services from 3-6 PM. Burial will be private.

WALTER G. INMAN, JR.

Walter G. Inman Jr., 79, died Saturday, May 1 at the BayPointe Nursing Center in Brockton. He was the husband of Eldoretta "Louise" (Snyder) Inman. Born in Boston, he was raised in Quincy and a graduate of Quincy Schools. Mr. Inman worked as a security guard at the Boston Navy Yard and then the Boston Army Base in Boston for many years. He was a veteran of the US Army during WWII and the US Navy during the Korean Era. He was a member of the VFW in Stoughton and the Disabled American Veterans in Quincy. He was an avid coin collector and Red Sox Fan.
He is survived by his wife, Eldoretta "Louise" (Snyder) Inman of Stoughton.
Memorial services will be held in the First United Methodist Church, 109 Pleasant St., Stoughton on Wednesday at 1 PM. Visiting Hours omitted. Arrangements by Farley Funeral Home, Stoughton. Donations in his name may be made to American Lung Assoc., 25 Spring St., Walpole, MA 02081. Burial will be private at VA National Cemetery, Bourne.

JOHANNA H. (BORGHOLS) VAN LEEUWEN

Johanna H. (Borghols) Van Leeuwen, 96, died at Newton Wellesley Alzheimer Center in Wellesley on Tuesday, June 22 after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Gerald L. Van Leeuwen. Born in Amsterdam, Holland, she moved to Jamaica Plain at age 5 and was educated in Jamaica Plain schools. Mrs. Van Leeuwen resided in Stoughton for over 20 years after living in Roslindale for many years. She was a housewife at home. She was a former member of the West Stoughton Village Assn. In her free time she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Mrs. Van Leeuwen is survived by her son, Gerald L. Van Leeuwen, Jr. of Alabama and her daughters, Claire M. Cook of Medfield, Jeanne L. Pearson of Marstons Mills, Diane E. Shea of Maine and Carol A. MacLeod of Florida. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Gerald, she was preceded in death by her sister, Jaclyn Crosby.
Funeral Service will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday at 11 AM. Visiting Hours prior to service from 10-11 AM. Donations in Johanna's name may be made to Alzheimer's Assn., 36 Cameron Ave., Cambridge, 02140. Interment will take place at Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree.

HELEN M. (BRYSON) THEOBALD

Helen M. (Bryson) Theobald, 65, died Tuesday, June 22 at the Brockton Hospital in Brockton. She was the wife of the late John F. Theobald. Born in Boston, she was raised and educated in Jamaica Plain. Mrs. Theobald was a resident of Holbrook for over 7 years and previously lived in Stoughton for many years. Mrs. Theobald was a devoted homemaker and mother. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, doll making and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children: John F. Theobald Jr. of Taunton, Mark S. of Bridgewater, Deborah A. Callahan of Las Vegas, James A. of Holbrook, Cynthia L. Shackleton of Mansfield, Sandra M. Fenton of Taunton and Sylvia L. Hamdeed of Holbrook. In addition to her husband John, she was predeceased by 2 sisters and 5 brothers. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday from 4-8 PM followed by a funeral service at 8 PM. BARBARA ANN (REINHOLD) AHERN

Barbara Ann (Reinold) Ahern, 86, died at St. Joseph Manor in Brockton on Sunday, June 20 after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Francis D. Ahern. Born in Somerville and a graduate of Somerville High School Class of 1936, she has resided in Brockton for many years before after living in Falmouth, Florida and Halifax. She had been a resident of St. Joseph's Manor in Brockton for over 2 years. Mrs. Ahern worked at Morse Shoe in Canton and Foxmoor Casuals in Brockton for several years before retiring in 1975. She was a member of St. Nicholas Church Sodality in Abington and St. Edward's Church Women's Club in Brockton. In her free time she enjoyed sewing, decorating and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Ahern is survived by her children, Barbara Ahern of Montville, NJ, Mary Evans and her husband Guy of E. Bridgewater and F. Daniel Ahern and his wife Jean of Hanover, as well as her grandchildren, Michael and Kerin Casano and Patrick and Cara Ahern. She is also survived by her siblings, Theresa Murphy of Arlington, Lawrence Reinold of VA and Ann O'Keefe of Maine. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her siblings, Richard Reinhold, Charles E. Reinold, Mary "Chickie" Kelly, John Reinold, Alice Cahalane, Vincent Reinold and Catherine Capp. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Stoughton at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Tuesday 5-8 PM. Donations in Barbara's name may be made to St. Joseph's Manor, 215 Thatcher St., Brockton, 02302. Burial to follow at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
