Rachel Tucker, 73, of Brockton died Saturday, February 17, 2001 at he Brockton Hospital she was the wife of the late Johnny Tucker. Born on April 1, 1927 in Muldon, Missisippi she was the daughter of the late Dickeris Smith and Malinda Smith Young. She was educated in the Westpoint, Missisippi School System. She was a member of the Third Union Missionary Baptist Church, where she received Salvation and was baptized. Rachel left her hometown of Prairie, Missisippi in 1948 to pursue a career in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania , where she worked for the Mayor and the City for many years. She retired and returned to her hometown of Prairie to be with her loving mother, the late Malinda Smith Young. Upon her mothers death, Rachel moved to Brockton in 1992. Rachel enjoyed life, loved her family, adored her grandchildren, and most of all she loved the Lord. She leaves to cherish her memories her son, Odell Wilson, II., and his wife Willie Wilson both of Brockton; her Brother Booker T. Smith of Chicago, IL.;Her Grandchildren, Odell Willson, III, of MN., Roosevelt Wilson, Rodney Wilson, Randy Wilson, Rynard Wilson, Rashard Wilson, Renaldo Wilson, Rochelle Ryan, Renee Finch, Ramona Wilson, and Ronaque Wilson all of Brockton; fourteen Great Grandchildren and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends. She was the sister of the late Roosevelt Smith and Annie Pearl Ewing.
Funeral services will held on Friday, February 21st at the Full Gospel Tabernacle Church, 452 Main St., Brockton at 11: 00AM. The Bishop Nathaniel Williams will officiate. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours in the Church 10: 00 - 11: 00AM prior funeral service.

JOSEFINA (ANDRADE) DEPINA, 46

Josefina (Andrade) DePina, 46, of Brockton died Sunday morning, February 18, 2001 at the Brockton Hospital. She was the wife of Arlindo A. Depina. Born in Cape Verde she was the daughter of Luzia Pina of Brockton and the late Jorge Andrade. Mrs DePina moved to Brockton in 1986. Mrs. DePina worked at Churchill Linen in Brockton for several years and was a communicant of St. Margaret's Church. She is survived by her husband, Arlindo A. DePina of Brockton;her four children, Jorge DePina, Jonathan DePina, Maria S. DePina, and Maria A. DePina all of Brockton; her three brothers, Manuel Andrade, Jose J. Andrade both of Brockton, and Domingos B. Andrade of Portugal; her seven sisters, Margarida Alves, Maria S. Dacruz, Maria J. Andrade, Maria S. Andrade, Maria Alves all of Brockton, Francisca Andrade of Portugal, and Jorgina Pires of Cape Verde; she is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Russell Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (RT123) Brockton on Wednesday, February 21st at 9: 00AM followed by a funeral mass in St. Margaret's Church, Brockton at 10: 00AM. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours in the Russell Funeral Home Tuesday evening 5: 00-9: 00PM.

MARY C. KHOURY, 92

Mary C. Khoury, 92 , of Brockton died Saturday morning, February 17, 2001 at the Braemoor Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Brockton. Born in Lawrence she was the daughter of the late Elias and Marcia (Joseph) Khoury she has been a Brockton resident since 1920. Miss Khoury was a retired shoe worker where she had worked for Diamond Shoe Company and other local shoe companies for several years. She was a communicant of St. Theresa Maronite Catholic Church in Brockton and was a member of the church Ladies Sodality. She was a member of the Lebanon American Auxiliary Club and the Brockton Senior Citizens Club. She is survived by her Brothers, Joseph W. Khoury of West Bridgewater, William E. Khoury of Brockton, and Elizabeth Diliddo of Wareham; also survived by several Nieces and Nephews. She was the sister of the late Thomas Khoury, James Khoury, Henry Khoury, George Khoury, and Catherine Damon.
Funeral from the Russell Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (RT123) Brockton on Tuesday, February 20th at 9: 00 AM followed by a service of Ginnaz in St. Theresa Maronite Catholic Church, 343 North Main St., Brockton at 10: 00 AM. The Rev. Christopher Henderson will officiate. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours in the Russell Funeral Home Monday evening 6: 00-9: 00PM. Incense service Monday evening 7: 00PM.

ARTHUR W. CANELOS, 88

Arthur W. Canelos, 88, a retired Shoe Repair Shop operator, died suddenly at the Meadowbrook Nursing Home in Canton on Wednesday, February 7, 2001 after a brief illness. Born in Amesbury he was the son of the late William G. and Julia (Belisis) Canelos. He was a graduate of Brockton Schools. Mr. Canelos had owned and operated a hat cleaning and shoe repair business for 45 years, as did his father before him, on Main Street in Brockton. He lived most of his life in the City and always loved to help people. He is survived by a sister, Evelyn Kanelos of Whitman and many Nieces and Nephews. He was the Brother of the late George Canelos, Angela Corey, Mary Zissulis, and Christine Canelos.
Funeral service will be held in the Russell Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt 123) Brockton on Saturday, February 10th at 10: 30AM. The Rev. John Kiramarios will officiate. Interment will follow in the family lot at Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.

BERTRAND RENE POMERLEAU, 68

Bertrand R. Pomerleau, 68, of Brockton died Monday morning, February 5, 2001 at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton after a valiant battle with Leukemia he was the husband of Grace E. (Burns) Pomerleau. Born on October 12, 1932 in Lewiston, Maine he was the son of the late Albert D. and Charlotte (Martin) Pomerleau. He served in the United States Navy. Mr. Pomerleau was a retired Shipper and Receiver at the Howard Johnson's Plant in Brockton for several years. He was also the owner and operator of Pomerleau Tree Service. He was a Brockton resident all of his adult life. In addition to his wife he is survived by six children, Diane Horgan and her husband Brian of Plymouth, Peter R. Pomerleau and his wife Debbie of Brockton, Paul R. Pomerleau of Middleboro, Joseph P. Pomerleau and his wife Karen of Randolph, John B. Pomerleau of Brockton, and Helen M. Carbonara and her husband Thomas of Brockton; His three Sisters Anita Henson of Maine, Cecile Bonney of Maine, and Priscilla McCarty of Florida; also survived by fourteen grandchildren, one great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. He was the Brother of the late Albert Pomerleau, Emile Pomerleau, Roland Pomerleau, and Connie Higgins.

RONALD H. MACDONALD, 91

Ronald H. MacDonald, 91, a lifelong resident of Brockton died Saturday morning, February 3rd at the Brockton Hospital. He was the husband of the late Alma (Stimpson) MacDonald. Born in Brockton he was the son of the late Hugh and Mary (Lyons) MacDonald he attended Brockton Schools. Mr. MacDonald Served in the United States Army during World War II where he received a Purple Heart. Mr. MacDonald was retired from the City of Brockton where he worked for several years in the Public Property Department. Mr. MacDonald was a communicant of St. Edward's Church in Brockton. He is survived by his Brother, Joseph MacDonald of Shrewsbury formerly of Brockton; Two Nieces, Joan M. Twomey of Kingston and Paula A. Baker of Shrewsbury. He was the Brother of the late Mary E. Humphreys.

Elliot R. Clark a Yarmouth resident most of his life died Saturday, January 27, 2001 at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. Born in Yarmouth he was the son of the late Charles Clark and Susie May (Kelly) Clark. Mr. Clark served in the United States Airforce during WW II. Mr. Clark was a retired electrician and was a Yarmouth and Barnstable resident most of his life. He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Kevin (Paula) Volpe of Middleboro;two Brothers, Charles Clark, Jr. and Herbert Clark both of Yarmouth; A Sister, Emily Barabe of Yarmouth, and also several Nieces and Nephews.
A Graveside service will be held at the Massachusetts VA National Cemetery in Bourne on Friday, February 2nd at 3: 00PM.

MARY A. (SPADEA) RYAN, 88

Mary A. (Spadea) Ryan, 88, of East Bridgewater died Saturday, March 31, 2000 at Bridgewater Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. Born and educated in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late John and Catherine (Celia) Spadea. Mrs. Ryan was a retired sales clerk and worked for the W.T. Grant Company and Superior Bakery for many years. She was a communicant of Saint Margaret's Church in Brockton. She is survived by two sons, Robert L. DeChristopher of East Bridgewater and Richard J. DeChristopher of Taunton; Two sisters, Marion Cerce and Rose Catrambone both of Brockton.

GERALD D. ZAMMIT, 72

Gerald D. Zammit, 72, of Brockton died at his home on Sunday evening, March 25, 2001 after a lengthy illness he was the husband of Josephine (Zammit) Zammit of Brockton. Born in Malta he was the son of the late George and Gaetana (Micaleff) Zammit. Mr. Zammit lived in Brockton since 1971 and had lived in Boston prior. He was a retired supervisor for the Merriman Brothers Textile Company in Hingham he worked there for several years and retired in 1994. He was a communicant of St. Nicholas Church in Abington and was an avid Piano Player and loved music. He is survived by his wife, Josephine (Zammit) Zammit of Brockton; his children, Joseph D. Zammit of Somerset, Mary Diaz of Brockton, and Patricia Zammit of Somerset; he is also survived by six grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 29th in St. Nicholas Church, 127 No. Quincy St., Abington at 9: 00AM. Cremation will follow. Funeral arrangements are by the Russell Funeral Home, Brockton.

ELIZABETH M. (WALSH) BLACK, 80

Elizabeth M. (Walsh) Black, 80, of Brockton died unexpectedly Saturday, March 17th, 2001 at her home in Brockton she was the wife of the late Charles W. Black. Born in Boston she was raised by the William and Katherine Walsh Family of Milton and graduated from Milton High School. Mrs. Black worked as an insurance adjuster for Lumberman's Mutual Insurance Company of Boston for several years. She was an avid Bingo player and a New England Patriots Fan. She has been a Brockton resident for the last forty years and was a communicant of St. Colman of Cloyne Church in Brockton. She is survived by her daughter, Susan E. Hasomeris and her husband John of Brockton; her grandchildren Tara and Alex Hasomeris both of Brockton.
