Jean (Karafotia) Kanellopoulos, 97, of Brockton died Thursday morning, March 15, 2001 at the Braemoor Nursing Home in Brockton she was the wife of the late Panagiotis Kanellopoulos. Born in Greece she was the daughter of the late Ioannis and Andonia (Andonopoulou) Karafotia. Mrs. Kanellopoulos moved to Brockton from Greece in 1965 and was a stitcher at the former Lewiston Company of Brockton. She was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Brockton. She is survived by her son, Paul Kanellopoulos and his wife Theodora of Plymouth; her daughters, Pota Kanellopoulos and Voula Economos both of Brockton;her grandchildren, Peter Kanellopoulos, Roula Dye, Irene Kapothanasis, Jean Davis, and Steve Economos; her great grandchildren, Nicolet, Alex, and Gregory Kapothanasis.
Funeral from the Russell Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (RT 123) Brockton on Saturday, March 17th at 8: 30AM followed by a funeral service in the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 457 Oak St., Brockton at 9: 30AM. The Rev. John Kiramarios will officiate. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. Tjada Jordan Jaguar "Rhonda Bennett", 33, of Brockton died unexpectedly on Monday, March 12, 2001. She was the daughter of Thomas and Betty (Satterfield) Bennett of Rockland. Born in Brockton on September 22, 1967 she graduated from Rockland High School in 1985. After graduating she attended the Maryland Institute of Art. She also graduated from the school of Cosmetology. She was the owner of Nail Effect in Brockton. In addition to her parents she leaves to cherish her memory her loving son, Jordan Jaguar; a brother Thomas Jeremy Bennett of Whitman; her Maternal Grandparents, James and Nan Ellison of Hanson; her Great Grandmother Ida Satterfield of Cedargrove of North Carolina; one nephew, Justin Tyler Bennett of Whitman. She was also the granddaughter of the late Pedro and Louise Bennett. She also leaves a host of cousins and friends.
Her funeral service will be held in the Russell Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., Brockton on Saturday, March 17th at 12: 00 noon. The Rev. Dr. John W. Miller will officiate. Cremation will follow. Calling hours in the Russell Funeral Home Saturday morning 10: 30-12: 00PM prior funeral service.

ALANN R. ANDREWS, 75

Alann R. Andrews, 75, of Brockton died Saturday, March 10, 2001 at his home in Brockton after a short illness. Born in Boston he was a 1941 graduate of Bourne High School and served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. He had lived in Tarpon Springs, Florida and in Halifax for many years before moving to Brockton three years ago. Mr. Andrews was a retired self-employed electrician. While living in Halifax he was an auxiliary police officer and the town's dog officer for many years. While living in Florida he was employed by Gaurdian at Lideum. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Jeffrey (Catherine) Coughlin of Brockton; a son, Bruce Andrews of Florida; his former wife Barbara Callanan Andrews of Brockton; and three grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held in the Russell Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Thursday, March 15th at 11: 30AM. The Rev. James Mahoney will officiate. Interement will follow in the Massachusetts VA National Cemetery, Bourne at 1: 00PM. Calling hours in the Russell Funeral Home Wednesday evening 5: 00-8: 00PM.

Jacqueline S. Mendes infant daughter of Joao A. Mendes and Adelina Amado died Wednesday, February 28, 2001 at the Falmouth Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was Born December 16, 2000 in Falmouth. She was survived by her brother Esmael Mendes.
Private funeral services where held in the Russell Funeral Home and interment followed in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.

LEO H. MORIN, 77

Leo H. Morin, 77, of Brockton died at his home Wednesday morning, June 6, 2001 after a lengthy illness he was the husband of the late Mary (Regan) Morin who he married in 1961. Born in New Bedford he was the son of the late Amos and Helen (Sullivan) Morin. Raised in New Bedford Leo graduated from New Bedford High School where he played on the Baseball team. Leo enjoyed singing in the choir and music. Leo joined the United States Navy in 1941 and served in the Pacific, Mediterranean, and Atlantic Fleets during World War II. He served in the Battle of the North Atlantic in 1941 and 1942, the Invasion of North Africa in 1942, and the Invasion of Italy in 1943. Leo served on the USS Bristol, and survived its sinking after the ship was torpedoed. He also served on the USS Jack Miller, USS Missouri, and had other commissions. After a tour of service in the Korean War he taught specialized welding at the Naval training station in Newport, Rhode Island; he retired from the Navy in 1964 at the rank of Chief. After retiring from the Navy he moved to Brockton in 1964 where he worked at several area businesses, including the Quincy Shipyard as a journeymen welder. Leo retired in 1985; he enjoyed gardening, woodworking, traveling, playing cards, and spending time with his family and grandchildren. Also he and his late wife devoted time to the Fleet Reserve Association, Branch 66. He was a member of The USS Missouri Association, Tin Can Sailors, and VFW Poirer Post in New Bedford. Leo is survived by his children, Leo Michael Morin and his wife Cindy of Weymouth, Scott Patrick Morin and his wife Kelly of Brockton, Jolie Ann LaValle and her husband David of East Bridgewater; His Grandchildren, Amanda Mary Morin and Allyson Maureen Morin both of Brockton, and Katelin Virginia Morin of Weymouth; His Brothers and Sisters, William Morin and his wife Irene of New Bedford, Eva Morris of New Bedford, Vivian Whitt of Arizona, Roland Morin and his wife Diane of New Bedford. He is also survived by several Nieces and Nephews and Great Nieces and Nephews. He was the Brother of the late Normand Morin.

ANTHONY T. MANCUSO, 85

Anthony T. Mancuso of Brockton died Monday evening, May 21, 2001 at the Brockton VA Medical Center in Brockton after a lengthy illness. Born in Waltham he was the son of the late Vincenzo and Rosa (Gorgone) Mancuso. Mr. Served in the United States Army during World War II and was a retired laborer. He is survived by several cousins including, Joseph Gorgone of Brockton.

Stefanos Kapotas, 44, of Brockton formerly of Taunton and Norwood died Monday, May 21, 2001 at the Lahey Clinic n Burlington after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Stamata (Korkovilis) Kapotas. Born in Agia Mavra, Greece he was the son of Veliota (Galanis) Kapotas and the late Konstantinos Kapotas. Mr. Kapotas was a Pizza Cook where he worked for several different restaurants. He has been a Brockton resident for the last two years and previosly had lived in Taunton and Norwood. He is survived by his wife, Stamata (Korkovilis) Kapotas; His Children, Nicholas Kapotas of Foxboro, Constantinos Kapotas of Brockton, and the late Veliota Kapotas; His Mother, Veliota (Galanis) Kapotas; ten Brothers and Sisters in Greece, and several nieces and nephews.

Carol H. Zubris, 63, of Brockton died suddenly Friday morning, May 11, 2001 at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton after being stricken ill at her home. She was the wife of Robert R. Zubris, Sr. of Brockton for 40 years. Born in Boston she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Anna (Martens) Smith, she attended Boston Schools. Mrs. Zubris was a homemaker devoted to her family and enjoyed Cake Decorating and Cyramics she was a Brockton resident for over 30 years. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Robert R. Zubris, Sr., of Brockton; Her Children, Robert R. Zubris, Jr of Brockton, Anna M. Heidke and her husband Scott of Middleboro, Karen H. Morrison and her husband Christopher of West Bridgewater, Dennis M. Zubris and his wife Bonnie of Middleboro, Denise M. Zubris of Brockton, and Jeannie C. Zubris of Brockton; Her Sisters and Brother, Phyllis Delaporta of Whitman, Richard Martens of Brockton, Marie Lee of Whitman, Eileen Solari of N.H., and JoAnne Smith of N.H.; Her Grandchildren, Ricky, Robbie, Stephanie, Katie, Kenny, Nichole, Julia, and Bobby in FL. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was also the Sister of the late Charles Martens.

Eglantine (Forest) Walsh, 98, formerly of Brockton died Friday morning, May 11, 2001 at the Southwood Nursing Home in Norwell she was the wife of the late Lester Walsh. Born in Rhode Island she was the daughter of the late Francis and Eugenia (Peppin) Forest. Mrs. Walsh was a homemaker and a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes church while she was living in Brockton. She is survived by her Daughters, Irene Adams of Marshfield and Marjorie Anderson of Florida; Her grandchildren, Dianne Raimondi of Marshfield, Janet Hale of Middleboro, Sandra Barker of Duxbury, and Gayle Burgess of Halifax; also survived by 8 Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

ROBERT F. BRADY, SR., 79

Robert Francis Brady, Sr., 79, of Brockton, died Wednesday morning, May 9, 2001 at the Embassy House Nursing Home in Brockton after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of the late Edna M. (Durkin) Brady. Born in Borckton he was the son of the late William E. and Pearl V. (St.Amand) Brady he was raised in Abington and attended Abington Schools. Mr. Brady served in the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1938 to 1939 he was in the 1135th company stationed in Underhill Center, Vermont. He then went on to serve in the United States Army during World War II where he was stationed in Panama. After serving in the Army he worked for the National Fireworks Company in Hanover. Mr. Brady was a retired Drywall Finisher where he had worked for several companies. In 1960's he worked at Johnson Drywall in Natick and Daley Drywall in Easton. In the 1970's he worked for Arrow Drywall in Stoughton and Brady Drywall and Plastering in Brockton. Mr. Brady then in the late 1970's early 1980's worked part time at Brady Distributing Company of Middleboro, J&C Print in Whitman, and NET&S, Inc of Brockton. He was a member of the US Power Squadron, Brockton DAV, Past Member of the Franco-American Club of Brockton. He enjoyed Bowling, Boating, Antiques, Flea Markets, and motorcycling as a passenger. He is survived by his Children, Robert F. Brady, Jr. and his wife Nancy of Avon, Carole A. (Brady, Groom) Oliveira and her husband James of Whitman, and Brockton City Councilor, Michael D. Brady of Brockton. Brother of William Brady of Brockton; His Grandchildren, Wendy A. Edwards of VA., Randi Petricone, Robert F. Brady, III., and Kaeci S. Brady all of Avon, Anita L. Doll of Carver, Joyce M. Hester of VA, and Russell J. Oliveira of New Bedford; Great Grandfather of 6, also survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Gordon F. Kelley, 88, of Brockton died Sunday, October 28, 2001 at the West Acres Nursing Home in Brockton. He was the husband of the late Claire R. (Scanlon) Kelley. Born August 21, 1913 in Holbrook he was the son of the late George Kelley and Ellen (Crowley) Kelley. He graduated from Holbrook High School and Bryant and Straton Business School. Mr. Kelley was a retired Truck Driver he had worked for Quinn Freight Lines for over 52 years and also for Weymouth Art Leather Company. Gordon was the former Vice President of Teamsters Local #653 and was a communicant of St. Margaret's Church in Brockton. He is survived by his children, Richard F. Kelley of Rhode Island, Mrs. Richard (Anne) Smith of Brockton, Kathleen M. Angelo of Raynham, and Mary M. Donovan of Brockton; his sisters, Pauline Smith of Holbrook, Helen Sullivan of Falmouth, and Maureen Connors of Rockland; he is also survived by his fourteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Richard Kelley, Geraldine Vermette, Grace Duffy, and Philip Kelley.
