Edward C. (Papa) Holyoke, Jr., age 60 years passed away Monday at Tufts-New England Medical Center in Boston following a lengthy illness. He was the husband of 32 years of Rhonda L. (Morton) Holyoke of Bridgewater.
Born in Brockton he was the son of the late Edward C., Sr., & June R. (Kelley) Holyoke. Mr. Holyoke was raised and educated in East Bridgewater. He was a long time resident of Brockton and had been living in Bridgewater for the past sixteen years. He was employed at the Blue Hills Cemetery in Braintree for several years prior to becoming a successful office equipment salesperson. Mr. Holyoke was a grateful 30-year member of Alcoholics Anonymous, helping many men and women in recovery. He was a communicate of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brockton, serving on the church council and was involved with running the annual golf tournament through the church for over ten years. He enjoyed traveling & was an avid fan of the New England Patriots. He coached for the Brockton Little League and also for the Bridgewater Youth Football.
In addition to his wife of 32 years, he is survived by his children, Kerrie (Holyoke) Doherty of Braintree, Christina (Holyoke) Kosik of Brockton, Julie Holyoke of Missouri, Eryn (Dufault) Kraft of Oregon and Michael E. Holyoke of Bridgewater, Eight grandchildren and three brothers, Arthur Holyoke, George Holyoke both of East Bridgewater and Bradford Holyoke of Maine. As well as several nieces and nephews. A sister, June (Holyoke) Elwood predeceased him.
A funeral service will be held on Friday October 22nd at 10:00 am at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 900 Main St., Brockton, MA. Interment will follow the service in Blue Hills Cemetery, Braintree, MA.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 4-8pm in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 647 Main St., Brockton, MA 02301 with a Celebration of Life service at 7:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be given to the Charity of choice.

Robert M. Darling

Robert M. Darling age 77 years of Lakeville, MA died Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at his home. He was the beloved husband of Bette G. (Vigers) Darling.
Born Saturday, May 6, 1933 in New Bedford, MA he was the son of the late Lester N. C. Darling and Hannah (Baker) Darling.
Robert was a graduate of New Bedford Vocational High School and was a self-employed carpenter and homebuilder for many years in the Lakeville/Freetown area. He also owned and operated Capt. Bubs Marine on Long Pond in Lakeville during the 60’s, 70’s and 80's. He recently retired after working as Building Inspector and Commissioner in the Town of Lakeville for more than 20 years, helping people achieve their goals. He also willingly served on local committees. Bob and his wife Bette has been a resident of Lakeville since 1951.
In addition to his wife he is survived by three sons Bob Darling and his wife Roslyn of Lakeville, Bill Darling and his wife Jane of Canaan, NH and Brian Darling and his wife Michele from Canaan, NH; a daughter Kate Darling of Lakeville; four grandsons Nate and Jared Darling from Lakeville and Ryan and Mike Darling from Canaan, NH; two granddaughters Kristen (Darling) Main of Lakeville and Jessica (Darling) Faulkner of Canaan, NH; seven great-grandchildren Kayla, Hannah, Andy, Matt, Emma, Brody and Joshua all of Lakeville; three sisters Myrtel Erickson of Middleboro, Grace Potter of FL and Margaret "Peg" Abramson of Middleboro; and a brother Lester "Skip" Darling of Freetown.
A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, October 18, 2010 at 10:00 AM in Sampson Cemetery in Lakeville, MA.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be given to Lakeville COA / Gifts & Grants, 1 Dear Crossing, Lakeville, MA 02347. To be used to help local families thru the upcoming Holiday Seasons.

Ruth M. (Beauregard) Richards

Ruth M. (Beauregard) Richards age 80 years passed away Friday October 8 at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center following a sixteen month illness. She was the wife of the late Parker W. Richards, Jr.
Born in Hyde Park she was the daughter of the late Louis D. & Dorothy M. (Randall) Beauregard. She also lived in Sharon, Brockton and the city of Newton throughout the years. A graduate of Brockton High School Class of 1948, Mrs. Richards was a housewife, mother and a successful entrepreneur. She was also an avid gardener, spending much time in the garden nursery. She served her country in the United States Air Force stationed in Japan during the Korean conflict. Mrs. Richards was a member of the Pythians sisters of MA and a supporter of Teen Challenge and several hospice organizations in the greater Brockton area. She was also a long time member of Trinity Baptist Church in Brockton and also attended the Second Baptist Church in the Newton Upper Falls area. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, swimming, charitable church activities and especially the cherished times spent with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children; David, Douglas, Duane, Donna, Deborah and Denise; 13 grandchildren, a sister, Marie Pike and a brother, John Beauregard. Another brother, Robert F. Beauregard, predeceased her.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 11th at 12:00 pm in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 647 Main Street, Brockton, MA 02301.
Visitation will be prior to the service from 11-12. Private internment will be at a later date in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be given to: Hospice of Greater Brockton, 500 Belmont St., #215, Brockton, MA 02301.

Marion E. Hornstra

Marion E. Hornstra, 91, formerly of East Bridgewater, died peacefully on October 2, 2010 at home in Naples, Florida. She was predeceased by her husband of 51 years James.
Born on September 18, 1919, in Brockton she was the daughter of the late John and Mildred A. Hall of Bridgewater. Marion attended Bridgewater State College and worked as a substitute teacher in East Bridgewater Central School and later worked part-time at East Bridgewater Public Library.
She is survived by two sons James C. Hornstra of Naples, FL, and Douglas J. (Carol) Hornstra of Knoxville, TN, and two grandsons Clark and Geoffrey Hornstra also of Knoxville.
Visitation will take place Friday, October 8, 2010 from 10-11am at Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 647 Main St. Brockton, MA with a funeral service to follow immediately at 11:00 AM. Internment will be at Central Cemetery in East Bridgewater.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to Avow Hospice, 1095 Whippoorwill Lane, Naples, FL, 34105.

Harold H. Hallamore, Jr.

Harold H. Hallamore, Jr., age 76 years passed away Wednesday October 13th at the West Acres Nursing Home following a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Constance A. (Tower) Hallamore whom he was wed to for over 53 years.
Born in Brockton he was the son of the late Harold H. Sr., & Isadore (Atwood) Hallamore. He was a long time resident of the city of Brockton before moving to West Bridgewater five years ago. Mr. Hallamore was a graduate of Brockton High School Class of 1952, Northeastern University Class of 1966 and earned his IEC from Wentworth Institute of Technology in 1958. He was active with the Brockton High School Reunion committee and the Wentworth Institute of Technology Alumni Board and was also a member of the Wentworth Institute of Technology’s board of Trustee’s. Mr. Hallamore proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict aboard the USS Seneca. He was employed in the Electronics Industry for over 50 years & was the owner operator of the former Deltech Sales Company. An avid golfer and boating enthusiast, he was also a former member of First Baptist Church in Brockton.
He is survived by his loving children, Scott Hallamore and his wife Michelle of Mystic, CT, Beth Cerce and her husband James of Brockton, Kent Hallamore and his wife Linda of North Easton and Tracey Hixon and her husband Troy of Taunton, his beloved grandchildren, Jacquelyn Parenteau, Katelyn Cerce, James Cerce, Jr., Scott Hallamore, Jr., Nolan Hallamore, Leah Hallamore, Cole Hallamore, Claire Hallamore, Hayley Hixon and one beloved great granddaughter, Berkley Parenteau, his brother in law George Tower and his wife Suzanne of Easton and a niece & nephew, Jennifer & Jason Tower.
A funeral service will be held on Monday October 18th at 10:30 am in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 647 Main St., Brockton, MA 02301. Interment with Military Honors will follow in the Melrose Cemetery, Pearl St., Brockton.
Visitation will be on Sunday from 4-7 pm.

Norman E. Kristensen, Jr., age 59 years passed away Thursday September 29th at the Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital following a short illness. He was the husband of 36 years of Lorraine E. (Empoliti) Kristensen of Brockton.
Born and raised in Norwood, MA he was the son of the late Norman E., Sr. and Karin (Korhonen) Kristensen and had been a resident of the city of Brockton since 1974. In addition to his wife he is survived by a sister in law and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Monday October 4th at 7:00 pm in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 647 Main St., Brockton, MA 02301.
Memorial visitation will take place prior to the service from 4-7pm.

Arnold E. Gonier

Arnold E. Gonier age 70 years passed away Thursday September 16, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family following a brief illness. He was the loving husband of 48 years of Carol A. (Hanson) Gonier of Brockton.
Born in Brockton, MA he was the son of the late Chet and Muriel Gonier. Mr. Gonier was a graduate of the Brockton Trade School and had been a life long resident of the city of Brocton. He was the Owner-Operator of the Batson Bldg. Supply in Brockton and proudly served in the National Guard for 6 years and was a long time member of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Brockton.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters, Mary E. Bollivar and her husband James of Oakham, MA and Lynne M. Gonier of New Hampshire; three grandchildren, James, Victoria and Ethan Bollivar and a brother, Brian E. Gonier of Brockton. As well as several nieces and nephews. A brother, David E. Gonier predeceased him.
A funeral service will be held on Friday September 24th at 11:00 am at Immanuel Baptist Church, 92 Alger St., Brockton, MA 02302. Interment will follow the service in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton, MA.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 5-8pm in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 647 Main St., Brockton, MA 02301.

Priscilla A. (Walters) Olson

Priscilla A. (Walters) Olson age 75 years of South Easton, MA died Sunday, Sept. 26, 2010 at her home. She was the loving wife of Paul A. Olson of 51 years.
Born Oct. 4, 1934 in Pittsfield, MA she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Gladys (Hayn) Walters.
Priscilla was educated in the Raynham Elementary Schools and was a graduate of Taunton High School and a graduate of Bridgewater Teachers College. She had lived in Raynham and for the past 51years in South Easton. She taught in West Bridgewater, Avon and in Easton Schools where she taught for over 40 years. After retirement she worked for N.E.S. correcting teachers certification test.
She was a long time member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brockton where she is the president of the Martha Guild and Co-Founder of Children’s Ark Pre-School. She also served on the Church Council and Kaffe Stuga Group. She was a member of Kappa Delta Pi National Honor Society and Rainbow where she was formerly Worthy Advisor of Taunton Assembly of Rainbow and Grand Representative of Mass Rainbow. She enjoyed traveling throughout the country and overseas and camping including at Calumet Lutheran Camp. She also enjoyed bowling and was a Red Sox Fan.
In addition to her husband Paul she is survived by three children David Olson and his wife Cindy of North Easton, Cheryl Dolloff and her husband Michael of FL and Eric Olson of MI, two grandchildren Caleb Olson and Corbin Olson and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also the sister of the late Robert Walters.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010 at 10:30 AM in the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 900 Main St. Brockton, MA.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010 from 4-8 PM in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 647 Main St., Brockton, MA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to Children Ark Pre-School, 900 Main St. Brockton, MA 02301 or to Hospice of Greater Brockton, 1324 Belmont St., Brockton, MA 02301.
