Kenneth B. Munro, 66, of Brockton for 30 years, died Nov. 26, 2008. Native of Scotland, he was a master auto body technician, enjoyed leather tooling, long distance swimming, scuba diving, painting, photography and music. He resided also in Milton and on Martha’s Vineyard. Husband of the late Beverly F. (Slocum) Munro, Ken was the beloved father of Kenneth B. Munro II of Brockton and Cynthia Ricci and her husband Ronald of Holbrook, loving grandfather of Ron Ricci Jr., Leah Ricci, Jason Prince and James Prince, great-grandfather of Jaden Prince, brother-in-law of Fred and Carol Kraus and uncle of William Kraus, all of Easton. Following cremation, all are welcome to calling hours Wednesday 6-8 p.m. in Belcher Chapel at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St. Brockton.

Sister Marie Assumpta, C.J.C., a Poor Sister of Jesus Crucified and the Sorrowful Mother, died on Dec. 2, 2008. Mary Aleknavich, daughter of the late Kayetan and Tillie (Theophilia Deguzis) Aleknavich of Lithuania lived and was educated in Luzerne; she entered religious life in Elmhurst (Moscow) PA on September 8, 1931. As a Sister of Jesus Crucified, she was known as “Sr. Marie Assumpta”. Having earned a B.S. Degree in Home Economics from Marywood College, Scranton, PA , she held educational assignments in community missions and schools in Massachusetts: Worcester, Norwood, Brockton, Lawrence, and South Boston. She worked also in Pennsylvania : Tamaqua, Frackville, Carbondale, Girardville, Scranton, Miners-Mills and Elmhurst. She also taught in East Hartford, Connecticut. She attended Food Service Workshops at Stonehill College, Easton and continuing education courses at Misericordia College, Wilkes-Barre, PA and Holy Name, Oakland, CA. She volunteered a full year of service as Director of Dietary Department in Our Lady of Sorrows Convent kitchen. She was an adept sacristan in her assigned parishes, delighted in doing crafts, and enjoyed preparing flowers for the altar. She continued all these good works in her retirement years spent at the Motherhouse. She was sister of Lillian Farris of Edwardsville, PA, and aunt of devoted nieces and nephews, cousin of many and sister of the late Benny (Balisius), John, George, Joseph and Tillie (Theophilia) Aleknavich, Helen (Aleknavich) Mackarewicz and Agnes (Aleknavich) Gatusky. Calling hours Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008 from 2 to 5 p.m. in Our Lady of Sorrows Convent, 261 Thatcher Street, Brockton. Funeral Mass in Convent Chapel Thursday at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Poor Sisters of Jesus Crucified, Our Lady of Sorrows Convent, Brockton.

Turena S. “Irene” (Razumas) Kiley, 86, of Buzzards Bay, died Nov. 26, 2008. Native of Brockton, she served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a retired dietary aide at Brockton V.A. Medical Center. She resided in Stoughton and Alabama prior to Hideaway Village and Bourne Oaks. She was an avid gardener and belonged to garden clubs, enjoyed painting and loved animals. She was a beloved sister of the late Anne Ek and Bertha Tamulevich and loving aunt of Dr. Judith Riordan-Smith of Bourne and the late Patricia McGill and great-aunt of their families and companion of the late Harold Hughes. All are welcome to a calling hour Tuesday 10-11 a.m. and prayers at 11 a.m. in Belcher Chapel at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St. Brockton and 1 p.m. burial at National Cemetery. Theresa A. Ward-Ling, 47, of Florida, died July 31, 2008. Native of Brockton, she was a daughter of the late Catherine (Mitchell) Ward and Richard Ward. She was the loving mother of Matthew Ling and Megan Rolfe, beloved sister of William Ward and his wife Julie of California and Richard Ward and his wife Michelle of Ohio, niece of Desma Kundicz of Brockton and the late Nicholas, John, Julia and Arthur Mitchell, Eva Klimovich, Ann Hatfield and Theodore Michael and cousin of many. All are welcome to a graveside service Friday at 11 a.m. at Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.

Irene R. (Reardon) Kiaunis, 92, of East Winthrop, Maine, died Nov. 24, 2008. She was a native of Brockton and a homemaker. Wife of the late Walter F. Kiaunis, she was the beloved mother of Walter F. Jr. “Sonny” Kiaunis Jr. of Connecticut, Carol Lee of Rhode Island, Marylou Pepler of Rhode Island and Nancy Poulin of Maine, loving grandmother of 14, great-grandmother of 7, great-great-grandmother of 1. Elsie (Diehl) Skaff, 69, of Brockton since 1965, died Nov. 20, 2008. Native of Pennsylvania , she was the daughter of Katherine Diehl of Pennsylvania and the late Frank Diehl. She served in the U.S. Navy during peacetime and met her husband and married in Maryland before coming to Quincy for a few years. Elsie was a floral designer, enjoyed politics, flower arranging and gardening and was a past member of the Democratic State Committee and Lebanese Club Ladies Auxiliary. She was the beloved wife of Ramon Skaff Sr., loving mother of Christine Skaff of Bourne, Marie Strickland of Florida, John Skaff of Brockton, Michael Skaff of Quincy, Joseph Skaff of Brockton and the late Ramon Skaff Jr. and devoted grandmother of Steven Skaff. Vivianne A. (Parenteau) LeMoine, 91, of East Bridgewater, died Nov. 20, 2008 at home surrounded by family. Native of Brockton, she resided in East Bridgewater since 1962. In 1979 she retired from 25 years as a nursing assistant at Brockton Hospital. She was an active communicant of Sacred Heart Church and a founding member of Sacred Heart School Guild. Vivianne loved reading and being with her great-grandsons. Wife of the late George “Franny” LeMoine, she was the beloved mother of Gary F. LeMoine and his wife Elaine of East Bridgewater, Patricia Cross-Reddan and her husband Peter Reddan of Brockton and the late G. Brian LeMoine, loving “Mem” of Kimberlee LeMoine and Jenifer LeMoine, proud great-grandmother of David, Gary and Brian, sister of Clair Eaton of Florida and the late Edgar, Wallace and Roland Parenteau, a dear aunt and loving friend of many. Ana Eugenia Fontes, 72, of Brockton, died Nov. 14, 2008. Native of Cape Verde Islands, she was a daughter of the late Quintiliano and Catarina (Fernandes) Fontes. Ana was the beloved sister of Joao Fontes, Francis Fontes, Joao B. Fontes and Maria Fontes, all of Brockton, Matilda Andrade of Florida, Manuel Fontes and Maria dePina, both of Cape Verde and loving aunt and great-aunt of many. Shirley C. (Maroon) Clapp, 82, of Crystal River, Florida, formerly of Brockton and South Boston, died Nov. 10, 2008. A daughter of the late John A. and Julia E. (Jankauskas) Maroon, Shirley enjoyed reading, bingo and her cat Baby. She was the beloved wife of Charles E. for almost 60 years, loving mother of Shirley Hyde of Cape Cod, Marie Warnock and her husband Barry of Taunton, John Clapp and his wife Dawn of Florida and the late Charles Clapp, devoted grandmother of Jon Clancy, Tyler Clancy, Heather Marrone, Dr. Ryan Warnock, Caylee Warnock, Cory Noonan, Adam Noonan and Megan Mitchell, great-grandmother of Nicole Clancy, Jameson and Jarett Marrone, Morgan Noonan and Lily Mitchell. Michele J. “Mickey” Hadges , 49, of Sandwich, formerly of Brockton, died Oct. 26, 2008 after a brief illness. A 1977 graduate of Brockton High School, Mickey worked locally in the food and beverage industry for over 25 years. Mickey loved to shop, garden, birdwatch, spend time with her dog Loco, explore Cape Cod natural history and go to the beach. She was the loving daughter of Winifred Hadges of Brockton and the late James Hadges, beloved sister of Christina Hadges of Raynham, Lauren Doyle and Dena Hadges-Duarte, loving aunt of Sophie Doyle and Alexander and Nicholas Duarte, all of Brockton, sister-in-law of Thomas Doyle and the late Richard Duarte. Mickey also leaves several aunts, uncles and cousins as well as her close friend Paul Vinci. Clifton W. Jefferson Jr., 37, of Brockton, passed away unexpectedly on Feb. 1, 2009. A graduate of Plymouth North High School and Mount Ida College for Funeral Services, he was employed as a counselor in the mental health care field. As an avid sports fan, he was a head coach to both the Brockton Junior Boxers Pop Warner football league and the Brockton North Little League baseball teams. Clifton was the beloved husband of Tina Muzzy, loving father of Clifton, Larissa, Chaylese, and Corey, son of Clifton Sr. of Rockland and Mona Lisa Santos of New Bedford, stepson of Cheryl Jefferson , brother of Nakeshia Gomes of Middleboro, Tyrone Jefferson of Carver, Nicole Jefferson of Abington, and Dana Santos of New Bedford, grandson of Marilyn Tyler of Rockland and Augustina Santos of Marshfield. Clifton was survived by several aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, and many dedicated friends. Karen L. (Wilson) Tagger, 55, lifelong of Brockton, passed away at home with family Jan. 26, 2009. She was employed as a nurse at various area nursing homes and at the V.A. Medical Center in Brockton and was also a real estate agent-broker with Remax. Karen was a kind and generous woman of great faith who loved her family and was a great friend. Daughter of the late Henry and Eleanor Wilson, Karen was the wife of the late Jacob L. Tagger, beloved mother of Jeffrey J. Tagger and his wife Nancy, Jacob L. Tagger Jr. and his wife Brigite, Darlene F. Pinto and her husband Antonio Pinto Sr., loving Nana of Jeffrey Jr., Shawna, Antonio Jr., Alexzandria, Jeremiah, and step-Nana of Thalia, Joey and her late husband’s grandchildren, all of Brockton. Danute (Spakevicius) Svirsky, 85, of Brockton, died January 24, 2009. Native of Lithuania, she was a homemaker who was devoted to her family and was known for her pleasant demeanor and love of life. She was the loving wife of the late John A. Svirsky, beloved mother of Andrew Svirsky (and his wife Lacey) of New Orleans and Regina Bastille (and her husband Michael) of Dedham, dear grandmother of John Bastille, sister of Julius Spakevicius of Westwood and the late Regina Grubliauskas and Grazina Zukauskas and aunt of several nieces and nephews. Lillian J. (Yezukevich) Haughey, of North Port, FL, formerly of Brockton, passed away in Florida on Jan. 17, 2009. Born in Brockton in 1918, she graduated from Brockton High School in 1936. Lillian started her working career at Wrentham State School in Wrentham and retired from the V.A. Hospital in Brockton. An avid reader until macular degeneration took away her ability to read, after that she enjoyed her books on audio tapes. Lillian was the daughter of the late Raymond and Julia (Tamulevich) Yezukevich, sister of Raymond Yezukevich, Jr. of Cedarville, mother of Linda Boyle and her partner William Hanlon of North Port, FL; grandmother of William "Tommy" Boyle and his wife Gina of FL, a cousin of many in MA, CT, and Lithuania and the partner for many years of the late Walter Dwyer. All are welcome to calling hours Monday 10 a.m. – 12 noon and 12 noon service in Belcher Chapel at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main Street, Brockton and burial at Melrose Cemetery.

Adelaide P. (Stefanowicz) Bridges, 95, lifelong of Brockton, died Jan. 21, 2009. She was employed in local shoe manufacturing then at King’s Department Store for many years until retirement. Adelaide was devoted to her family and enjoyed sewing. The wife of the late Samuel W. Bridges, Adelaide was the loving mother of Janet Bridges-Clancy and her husband Jack Clancy of Brockton and Bette Bridges-Brody and her husband Kenneth Brody of Sharon, beloved grandmother of Kathryn B.H. Clancy and her husband Brendan Harley and Elizabeth B. Clancy and her fiancé Allan Lerner, dear great-grandmother of Joan Adele Clancy-Harley, aunt of many nieces and nephews and sister of the late Joseph, Charles, George and William Stefanowicz-Stephens.
