Beloved husband of the late Carmela (Russo) Saunders.
Devoted father of Mariellen Dalton and her husband Michael "Mickey", Albert W. Saunders III and his wife Marsha, and Joseph Saunders, all of East Boston.
Dear brother of Barbara MacKenzie of East Boston, Robert D. Saunders of Randolph, and the late Franklin "Walter" Saunders.
Loving grandfather of Jillian Marie, Bianca, and Albert W. the IV. Also survived by many fond nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Ruggiero-Mazzarella Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga Street (Orient Heights) East Boston on Wednesday March 6 at 9:00am. Funeral Mass in the Sacred Heart Church, Brooks Street, East Boston at 10:00am. Visiting hours are on Monday from 5:00pm to 9:00pm and on Tuesday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. Albert was born in Boston in 1930. He was one of East Boston's best known schoolboy athletes and was captain East Boston High School 1948-1949, captain/quarterback East Boston Tornados, East Boston Sandlot Athlete of the Year 1957, and coach of the Brighton Knights from 1958-62. He served his country in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict and worked for many years as a labor foreman with Tucker Concrete Form Company. Albert was a past member of Knights of Columbus, Community Club, Progressive Club and Laborers local #22. He passed away at his home Friday morning, March 1, with his loving family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer. Albert was 71 years old.

Anthony Saurino
September 6, 1907 - February 16, 2001
Saurino - Anthony of Orient Heights, East Boston on Friday February 16, 2001. Beloved husband of the late Margaret (Martucci) Saurino who passed away in 1979. Devoted father of Claire Spagnolo and her late husband Vincent "Spag" of Orient Heights East Boston. Dear brother of Phyllis Pasquantonio of East Boston, Frank Roberto of Revere, Carmella Cicero of Malden, Sally Russo of Middleton, and the late Angelina Riccio, John Saurino and Joseph Roberto. Lovingly survived by one grandson Vincent Spagnolo Jr of Vermont, two great grand-children Jonathan and Anthony, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Anthony, aged 93 years, was born in Providence, Rhode Island. A hard working laborer at the shipyard all his life, he was a well known resident of East Boston for more than 75 years. Anthony passed away at home after a long illness.

Sawyer - Vasilikie D. "Vassie" Sawyer (Petropoulos) of Winthrop, formerly of East Boston, on Friday December 26th, 2003 in her 99th year.
Beloved wife of the late Henry Sawyer.
Devoted mother of Sarah Cali of Winthrop, formerly of East Boston, and Thomas Sawyer of Pennsylvania .
Loving grandmother of 6 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and 2 great great-grandchildren, as well as her cherished great granddaughter Stacy O'Toole of East Boston.
Funeral Service in the chapel at the Ruggiero-Mazzarella Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga Street (Orient Heights) East Boston on Tuesday December 30th at 10:00am officiated by Father George Tsoukalas. Vasilikie, or "Vassie" as she was known to many, was born in Greece in 1905 and came to the USA at a young age. She resided in East Boston for many years. Vassie passed away at home in Winthrop after a brief illness. She was 98 years of age.

Beloved wife of the late wrestling champ Frank Scarpa.
Devoted mother of Camille F. Interbartolo and her husband Joseph of Ft. Myers Florida, Winthrop Police Lieutenant Frank Scarpa Jr. and his wife Jeannie of Winthrop, and the late Lillian H. Scarpa.
Dear sister of Pasquale "Pat" Luongo of East Boston, Antoinette Natola and Concetta Ricci both of Revere, Frances Terrizzi of Somerville, Jean Malvone of Burlington, Gerard Luongo of East Boston, and the late Catherine Abbatessa and Elvera Pagliuca. Loving grandmother of Francine, Nadine, Michael, Amelia, Christopher, Laura, and the late Joseph Interbartolo. Cherished great-grandmother of Joshua and Celina, as well as many special nieces and nephews.

Helen was born in East Boston in 1918 and remained a life-long resident. She was the daughter of the late Michael and Angelina Luongo and married Frank Scarpa in 1938. Frank passed away in 1969. Helen worked for many years as a social worker for the City of Boston and was well known and highly respected in the community. She was a past Venerable of the East Boston Ladies Lodge - Order Sons of Italy, recipient of Woman of the Year - Sons of Italy, and former Treasurer of the East Boston Community Development. She passed away peacefully just after midnight on August 2 with her daughter Camille and son Frank by her side at the Winthrop Center for Optimal Care after a long illness.
