Mother of Donald Jacobs, Richard Doyle, Mary Hubert and Linda LaFreniere and the late Deborah Hathaway and Norma Jean Dubay.

HAMEL
Holyoke: Philip A. Hamel, 60, of Holyoke, died Wednesday, January 8, 2004 in Holyoke Medical Center. He was born in Holyoke, a lifelong resident and the son of Annette (Champagne) Hamel of Holyoke and the late Edgar Hamel. Philip was educated in Our Lady of Perpetual Help School, a graduate of the former Sacred Heart High School, and attended Holyoke Community College, all in Holyoke. He owned and operated Hamel's Market in South Hadley from 1963 to 1964 and the former Churchill Market in Holyoke from 1964 to 1985, he then co-managed the former Edgar's Market in Holyoke from 1985 to 1992. After leaving Edgar's he was employed at Service Machine in Holyoke. Philip was a former communicant of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church and recently a communicant of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. He served with the Army National Guard in 1960. He loved to golf regularly as well as gardening and wood working. Philip was co-Founder of the HART Association Golf Tournament and raised money each year for the Heart Association, he was also a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus. Philip is survived by his wife, Barbara (Horne) Hamel, with whom he recently celebrated 40 years of marriage, his children, daughter Janice Ruszczyk and husband David of Florence, and Joan Reilly and husband Laurence of Windsor, CT, one son, Jared Hamel and wife Eileen of Holyoke, MA. He leaves five grandchildren, Theresa and Andrew Ruszczyk, Bridgette and Shane Reilly, and Marion Hamel, one sister, Madeleine (Hamel) Partyka and her husband Joseph and one brother Richard Hamel and his wife Kathy, all of Holyoke. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday at 9am from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, followed by a Mass at 10am in Sacred Heart Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish with burial in St. Jerome Cemetery, all in Holyoke. RACZYNSKI
Schenectady, NY - Eileen Doris Saville Raczynski, 74, of Slingerlands, NY, died peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, January 7, 2004 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, NY. She was born March 23, 1929 in Utica, NY, the daughter of Arthur and Edith Marsden Saville. Eileen was a 1947 graduate of Whitesboro High School. In 1949 she married Matthew John Raczynski who predeceased her in 1993. Eileen shared her love of books, gardening, movies and hot fudge sundaes with her children. She is survived by two daughters: Leslie Matthews of Albany, NY and Kathleen Raczynski of Gill, MA as well as two sons: David Raczynski of Leesburg, FL and Michael Raczynski and his wife Angela Izzo of Millerton, NY. Eileen has two grandsons; William David III and Jason Patrick Matthews who adore her and grieve the loss of her, as do William Matthews, Jr. and Liz Bocon of Gill, MA ; all of who will miss her humor and love. Eileen is survived by one sister and brother-in-law Enid and Sam Scruton; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Dennis and Naomi Saville, Ronald and Marti Saville, Harry and Kay Saville, Brian and Virginia Saville; six sisters- in-law; Janet Saville, Louise Saville, Grace Saville, Janet Raczynski, Genevieve Raczynski and Charlotte Raczynski; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by five brothers and one sister-in-law; Kenneth and his wife Anita, Raymond, Douglas Donald and James, and four brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law; Joseph Raczynski and his wife Hilda, John Raczynski, James Raczynski and Theodore Raczynski. The family wish to extend their appreciation and thanks to the staff of Ellis Hospital, especially the staff on C4 and C5 for their care and compassion during Eileen's brief illness. Honoring the wished of Eileen, THERE WILL BE NO CALLING HOURS or service. Interment will be in Crown Hill Memorial Park after a private service at a later date with immediate family only. Edith A. Beach, 83, of Longmeadow, MA, formerly of Hampton, NJ and Grenelefe, Haines City, FL, died on August 21, 2003 in Springfield, MA. Born October 3, 1919 in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of the late A.H. Miller Sr. and the late Marie A. Glass Miller. Predeceased by her spouse, Edward V. Beach Sr. in 1991. She was an avid Bridge player and golfer. She is survived by her sons, Donald B. of Landing, NJ, Richard A. of Florence, MA and Gary E. of Forks Township, PA, also survived by 5 grandchildren. Bibby and his wife, Diane (Fuller) Bibby. Grandmother of Jennifer Allen of San Francisco, Amy Allen of Marblehead, MA, Jonathan H. Allen of Granby, Elizabeth B. Steinrisser of Hartland, VT, and Emily Bibby of Moscow, Russia. DAUDELIN
Eugene T. Daudelin, 68, of Granby died Friday in Northampton. He is survived by his wife of 25 years Joyce Crooks Daudelin; 3 sons Carl Daudelin, Mark Daudelin, Dale Daudelin; 2 brothers Richard Daudelin, Reginald Daudelin; 4 sisters Della Daudelin, Regina Cook, Lucille Renowicz, Irene Chagnon; one grandson and good friends Al and Margie Hersh. WATERS
Orange, MA - Sandra M. "Sandy" (Miller) Waters, 44, loving wife, mother, teacher and friend, of 83 south Shore Drive, died on Saturday, August 23, 2003 at home after a brave and courageous fight during her long illness, surrounded by her family. Born in Athol, May 16, 1959, she was a daughter of James L. and Dorothy (Battersby) Miller and grew up here, graduating from Athol High School in 1977. Following high school, she went to college at Leicester/Becher Junior College where she earned an Associate's Degree. Later, she received her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Massachusetts of Education and her Master's Degree from Lesley College. She was married to John D. Waters on July 12, 1980 and enjoyed 23 years of marriage. A well respected first grade teacher at the Royalston Community School, she had been teaching there for 9 years. She was devoted to helping children read and helped less fortunate children during her career. she was a member of the Royalston School Council, St. Mary's Parish Council and Life Committees, directed Family Mass at St. Mary's Church, a Mahar School Council Representative, on the Build a Better Mahar Committee, the Lake Mattawa Association, volunteered coaching youth sports at the Athol YMCA, member Athol Teachers Association and the Mahar High School Volleyball Association. Sandy enjoyed her family and friends, especially watching her children play sports. She also enjoyed skiing, kayaking, tending to her flower gardens, reading and was an avid runner. She enjoyed trips to Popham Beach in Maine. Besides her father of Athol and husband of Orange, she is survived by a son, John Waters Jr. Orange; daughters Brianna Waters and Jillian Waters, both of Orange; a sister, Susan M. Miller of Northampton; her in laws, Frank and Barbara Waters; and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a brother, Michael Miller in 1995. Services will be held form WITTY'S FUNERAL HOME, 158 South Main Street, Orange, Tuesday, August 26, 2003 at 10am with Rev. Fr. William Lunney and Rev. Fr. Brian McGrath officiating. Interment will follow in South Cemetery, Orange. CALLING HOURS WILL BE HELD AT THE FUNERAL HOME ON MONDAY, AUGUST 25, 2003 FROM 2PM-4PM AND 7PM-9PM. HASKELL
Edward J. Haskell, 85, of Norwood St in Swansea died Wednesday, August 20 at his residence. He was the husband of Thelma Goodwin (Chace) Haskell for 59 years. Born in Fall River, a son of the late Everett S. Haskell and the late Elizabeth McPartland, he resided in Swansea since 1925. Mr Haskell was a member of the Swansea Fire Department for 44 years, serving as Chief for 6 years, retiring in 1982. He was a graduate of Case High School, Class of 1936. A United States Army Veteran, he served during World War II earning the good conduct medal and European African MET campaign ribbon. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #303 of Swansea. Mr Haskell was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Chapel of St Michael's Church in Swansea. Surviving in addition to his wife: 3 daughters, Patricia Riley of Swansea, Sandra Haskell Lord of South Deerfield, Linda Haskell of Florence; 4 grandchildren, Christopher Riley, Elizabeth, Catherine and Samantha Lord, 1 niece and 2 nephews. Mr Haskell was the brother of the late Jane Clorite. His funeral will be held Saturday, August 23, 2003 at 9am from the BIRCHCREST HOME OF WARING - SULLIVAN, ASHTON, COUGHLIN, DRISCOLL, 189 Gardner's Neck Rd., Swansea followed by a funeral mass at 10am in Our Lady of Fatima Chapel of St Michael's Parish, Gardners Neck Rd, Swansea. Burial in Mt Hop Cemetery in Swansea.

of Hadley, August 20, Johanna I. (Molitoris) Zenzayer, 89, of Lawrence Plain Rd. Devoted wife of the late Joseph Zenzayer. MULLALY
Robert L. Mullaly, 77, of South Hadley, formerly of Easthampton, died Tuesday in Renaissance Manor, Holyoke. He graduated from Easthampton High School Class of 1943. He was a WWII Army Veteran. After his military service, he graduated from Bryant College, class of 1946, the Brown University class of 1966, both of Rhode Island. He was employed by Easthampton Savings Bank from 1949 to 1987. He was Vice President, Treasurer, Trustee and corporator of the bank He was past president of Easthampton Lions Club, past president of Easthampton Chamber of Commerce and Treasurer of Easthampton Public Library which is now Emily Williston Memorial Library. He was a member of Easthampton Congregational Church since 1947 and also served as a Deacon. He is survived by his wife Rose Fresnel Mullaly; 2 sons Robert L. Mullaly Jr and Paul Mullaly; one brother Franklin Mullaly; one sister Helen Gallant; 2 grandsons; one great-grandson. The funeral will be Thursday August 21 evening at 8:15pm in the MITCHELL FUNERAL HOME, Easthampton. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In Greenfield, July 25, 2003, Joseph G. 'Cy' Conner, of Shelburne, and a former longtime Northampton resident. Husband of the late Alice (Wheeler) Conner. He is survived by 2 nieces, Paula Flint and Judy Richardson, 3 great nieces Brenda Bowie, Pamela Stinson and Amy Bowie-Elias, and several other nieces and nephews. The Funeral will be Friday morning 9:30am from the AHEARN FUNERAL HOME IN NORTHAMPTON, followed by a Mass of Christian burial in St. Mary's Church at 10:30am.
