In Northampton, May 31, 2003, Mary (Shea) Berube, 77, of River Road, Leeds. Widow of Donald F. Berube. Mother of Pamela Dickinson, Donna Hutchinson, Richard, John and Kenneth Berube. Sister of Thomas Shea. Devoted grandmother and great grandmother. The funeral will be from PEASE FUNERAL HOME, Tuesday at 8am with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9am at Our Lady of the Annunciation Church, Florence. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. CALLING HOURS ARE MONDAY FROM 7PM TO 9PM.

BEAUCHEMIN
Mrs. Antoinette M. 'Toni' (Charest) Beauchemin, 92, 0f 298 Jarvis Avenue in Holyoke, died on Saturday at her home. She and her late husband, Rene S. Beauchemin, Sr. who died on May 30, 1965, were owners of the Langelier Bakery in Holyoke. 'Toni' and her son Rene Jr., continued the business after her husbands death until her retirement in 1993. She will always be remembered for her sweet smile and friendly conversation while serving her customers. She was born in Holyoke on March 10, 1911, the daughter of the late Joseph and Elvareh (Payette) Charest, and was a lifelong resident of Holyoke. She was a member of the first graduating class of Precious Blood High School in 1928. She was a longtime Communicant of the former Precious Blood Church, and in recent years attended the Immaculate Conception Church in Holyoke. She leaves one son, Rene S. Beauchemin, Jr. and his wife Laurie of South Hadley. She also leaves two daughters, Ann L. Senecal and her husband Jacques 'Jack' of Chicopee, and Nancy D. Fallon and her husband Breen of Easthampton. There are seven grandchildren, Kenneth Senecal, Lorri Gilbert, Kim Senecal, Jodi Fern, Christopher Fallon, Jaimie Fallon, and Joel Cadena. She also leaves six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday morning at 9am from the Arthur J. Brunelle Funeral Home at 811 Chicopee St. in Willimansett, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10am at the Immaculate Conception Church at 52 North Summer St. in Holyoke. Burial will be in the Precious Blood Cemetery in South Hadley. VISITING HOURS AT THE FUNERAL HOME WILL BE ON TUESDAY FROM 4PM UNTIL 8PM. Memorial donations may be made to the Loomis House at 298 Jarvis Avenue in Holyoke, MA 01040.

RUDDY
Of Northampton, May 30, 2003, Daniel Ruddy, 84, of 26 Maynard Road. Survived by his wife Beatrice (Campbell) Ruddy, a son Thomas P. Ruddy, a daughter Mary E. Ruddy, and 2 grandchildren. The Funeral will be Tuesday morning 9am from the AHEARN FUNERAL HOME, 783 Bridge Rd., Northampton, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Blessed Sacrament Church at 10am. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. CALLING HOURS ARE MONDAY FROM 2PM-4PM AND 7PM-9PM.

Virginia, 80, of Florence Road, died Wednesday at Cooley Dickinson Hospital. Funeral will be Monday 9am from the CZELUSNIAK FUNERAL HOME OF NORTHAMPTON followed by a Mass at St Catherine's Church at 10am. Burial in St Mary's Church, Haydenville. CALLING HOURS ARE SUNDAY FROM 2PM-5PM.

In Cummington, October 4th, Judith L. "Michelle" Liebenow, 58, of Cummington. Beloved wife of Conrad Liebenow. Mother of Anthony Kurpaska, Daniel Kurpaska, Andrew Liebenow, and Caroline Liebenow. Daughter of Mary G. Pikul. Sister of Francis Pikul and Joseph Pikul, Jr. and devoted grandmother. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2pm at the West Cummington Congregational Church. CABANA
Of Easthampton, Mary Ann (Malinoski) Cabana, age 60, of 100 Line Street, died on Thursday, October 2 in Northampton after a long battle with lung cancer. She is survived by her loving daughter Laura A. (Cabana) Nenada and her family. Son-in-law: Pero; 2 grandchildren: Katarina Iva and Nikolas Pero Nenada, all of San Jose, California; Brother and sister-in-law: David and Blanche Malinoski of Youngsville, NC, and a son-in-law, Michael F. Mahoney. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 32 years, John L. Cabana in February of 2000 and her beloved daughter Jane Mary (Cabana) Mahoney on September 9, 2003. Funeral services are Tuesday 10am at Immaculate Conception Church, CALLING HOURS WILL BE MONDAY 2PM-4PM/ 7PM-9PM AT THE GRAHAM FUNERAL HOME, 18 Adams Street, Easthampton. Of Northampton, October 2, Wilfred J. LaFountain, 71, of Henry St. Beloved Husband of Diana (Nanartonis) LaFountain. Father of Cynthia Peterson, Kenneth and his wife, Lynda, Daniel, Lawrence and Christine LaFountain. Brother of Noreen Ciaglo, Roberta MacDonald, Judith West, Thomas, David Jacklyn Doppman and Debra Williams. Cherished Grandfather of Joseph, Devon, Paige, Colin and Quinn. Uncle to several Nieces and Nephews. Loving Father of the Late Joseph Peterson. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend a Liturgy of Christian Burial Monday at 10:30 A.M. in St. Mary's Church, Elm St., Northampton. SHEA
Of Easthampton, October 1, 2003, Dorothy E. (Davis) O'Donnell Shea, 78, of Everett Street.
Survived by her son David F. Shea, her daughter Sylvia Crafts, 3 granddaughters Sandi Brown, Lori Speer and Karin Conte.
The Funeral will be Monday morning 9am at the AHEARN FUNERAL HOME, 783 Bridge Road, Northampton.
Burial will be private. CALLING HOURS ARE SUNDAY FROM 5PM-8PM.

LAROCHELLE
Paul W. "Pudgy" LaRochelle died September 28, 2003. He was the son of Alphonse J. and Virginia D. (Warner) LaRochelle. He was born in Haydenville on June 12, 1936 in his grandmother's home. He lived in Haydenville and Williamsburg all his life. Pudgy attended Haydenville Grammar School and graduated from Sacred Heart Elementary School in Northampton and graduated from Smith Vocational School in 1953. He served with the U.S. Air Force National Guard 104th Fighter Group at Barnes Airport in Westfield and saw active duty in Falsburg, France during the Berlin Crisis. He worked as a gardener at Smith College, a meat cutter at the former Northampton Frozen Food Locker, a carman foreman at the Boston and Maine Rail Road in Deerfield, and retired from Pine Grove Golf Course in Northampton as mechanic for the fleet of golf carts. He was known as a mechanic extraordinaire and could fix anything. Pudgy belonged to the Williamsburg Rod and Gun Club serving as its treasurer for over 30 years, he belonged to the National Rifle Association, North American Family Campers Association, Hilltown Chapter 94, the Good Sam Club and was a former member of the Williamsburg Historical Society. He had served on the Williamsburg Open Space Committee. Pudgy was a musician proficient on the piano, accordion, guitar and banjo. He was a stamp collector. He was an avid enthusiast of antique cars and had several including a 1931 Model A Ford Panel Truck which he decorated as the "Fish Wagon" and drove in local parades with his wife and son. In 1958 he starred as "Tarzan" in a travelogue of the Connecticut River produced by Louis Hebert. He was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Haydenville. Pudgy loved Cape Cod, especially the Truro-Provincetown area and spent many days roaming their beaches. He fought very hard to win his battle with lung cancer. He leaves his wife of 41 years, Patricia A. (Lyons) LaRochelle, a son Paul A. LaRochelle and his girlfriend, Marianne "Missy" Warner, a brother Kenneth F. LaRochelle of Haydenville, mother and father-in-law Helen and Edward Molloy of Haydenville, sister-in-law Margaret M. Molloy of South Hadley, nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren and his cat and best buddy, Harold T. (Tomcat) Redbone. He was especially grateful to his good friends Ed Crotty and Louis Hebert for their support through his illness. Funeral service will be Saturday, October 4, 2003 from CHILDS FUNERAL HOME, 14 Kingsley Ave., Haydenville with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10am at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Haydenville, with burial at the convenience of the family in St. Mary of the Assumption Cemetery in Leeds.

THORP
Of Pelham, Clarice (Brows) Thorp, 90, died August 15, 2003 at the Center for Extended Care in Amherst.
Widow of the late Willard L. Thorp.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 10am in the Pelham Valley Cemetery.
Mrs. Thorp was active in town politics in Pelham for many years.

PLEASANT
Ayn Karen (Adler) Pleasant, 57, of 16 Carlisle Avenue, Turners Falls, MA, and whose death occurred at home on Wednesday, December 31, 2003 following a period of failing health. Ayn was a long term Adjunct Professor of Psychology at Greenfield Community College, Greenfield, Massachusetts and was active as a volunteer in the community. Survivors include her husband Wayne Edward Pleasant, and her daughters Marielle Leigh Pleasant, a junior in Chemical Engineering at Tufts University, and Liana Laurel Pleasant, a freshman in Communication Disorders at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, MA. Her mother, Esther Adler of Providence, RI, a sister Leona Phillips of Sutter Creek, CA. A Memorial Service will take place on Monday, January 5, 2004 at 2pm from the Gill Campus, Memorial Chapel, of the Northfield Mount Hermon School, Gill, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of Western New England, 164 High Street, Greenfield, MA 01301.
MCCARTHY FUNERAL HOMES of Greenfield and Turners Falls, MA have been entrusted with the arrangements.

RUSSELL
Of Hadley, James R. "Red" Russell died at home on Thursday.
Husband of Constance E. (Britt) Russell.
Father of James and Peter Russell.
Brother of Richard, Danny and Robert and Jeanette. Brothers Edward, Thomas and Harry pre-deceased him.
CALLING HOURS ARE 3PM-6PM ON SUNDAY, DOUGLASS FUNERAL SERVICE, Amherst.

FRILOT
Freda, age 85, of Amherst, formally of Lake Charles, Louisiana, died Monday December 29 at Sunbridge of Hadley.
She was the wife of the late Paul Frilot who passed away in November of 1997.
Her survivors include LaVerne St. Mary of Amherst.
VISITATION MONDAY JANUARY 5 FROM 8AM-11AM with Funeral Services to follow at the Saint Henry Catholic Church.
Burial in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, all in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

NYE
Floyd W. Nye, Jr, 56, died on December 30th in the Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.
He is survived by his father Floyd W. Nye, Sr; his wife Sylvia; 2 brothers, Gary and Thomas; 1 sister, Deborah Lashway and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held in CHILDS FUNERAL HOME, 14 Kingsley Ave., Haydenville, MA Sunday, January 4th at 11am.

ROBINSON
Wayne F. Robinson, 51, of 145 Main St., Haydenville, died on December 26, 2003. Friends are invited to gather Saturday January 3 at 11am for a family service at THE WILLIAMSBURG FUNERAL HOME, 3 South Main St., Haydenville.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family at the Village Hill Cemetery in the spring.
