Elizabeth Milinazzo

A funeral service was held Saturday for Elizabeth (McKeen) Milinazzo, 72, a 43-year Lexington resident, who died Tuesday, June 24 in Nova Scotia, Canada.

She was the wife of the late Peter S. Milinazzo.

Mrs. Milinazzo was employed by Ginn Publishing in Needham as a secretary. She formerly worked for Xerox in Lexington.

She was an active member of First Baptist Church and a volunteer at Symmes Hospital.

She leaves: one son, Guy J. of Lexington; three daughters, Linda Cammarata and Donna M. Hoiriis, both of Lexington, and Susan G. Whitney of Boca Raton, Fla.; two sisters, Nancy Nardone of Lincoln and Marjorie Horan of Vancouver, British Columbia; and six grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Milinazzo's memory may be made to the Children's Hospital Development Office, 300 Longwood Ave., Boston, Mass., 02115.

Arrangements were under the direction of Douglass Funeral Home.

Ethel Lavilla Brown

A funeral service was held Friday for Ethel Lavilla (Wright) Brown, 89, of Lexington, who died Monday, June 23 in Lexington.

She was the wife of the late Ronald Dalrymple Brown.

Born in Westminster, Vt. she was the daughter of the late Fred C. Wright and Jennie Evelyn (Fay) Wright, and was educated at Cliff Elementary School in Westminster, Vt. She graduated from Walpole High School in New Hampshire and studied at Keene State College, where she earned a bachelor's degree in education and was a member of Nu Beta sorority. She became a Lexington resident in 1944 and she was employed by the Lexington school system for 25 years. She taught home economics until becoming director of school food services and workshops in 1953. Prior to her move, she taught home economics for five years in Bristol, Vt. and nine years in Berlin, Conn. She also directed 4H groups and counseled at Girl Scout Summer Camp.

During World War II, Mrs. Brown served as warden, a first aid instructor, taught nutrition adult classes, and initiated a school lunch program in addition to a full time teaching position.

She was a member emeritus of American Food Home Economics Association, and the Bedford Lexington Chapter of the American Association University Women, active in state groups, and a speaker at the National and State School Food Service Meetings and Workshops. She was also active in the Hancock United Church of Christ in Lexington, the Women's Fellowship, and a chairman in varied groups and committees.

She was a program participant in Lexington Field and Garden Club, and served as former treasurer and auditor.

In addition to being a Red Cross driver for five years, her memberships include: Lexington Historical Society, Arts and Crafts Society, Council on Aging, Senior Citizen's Club, Outlook Club, Citizens for Conservation, and a founding member of AARP Lexington Chapter #1533.

Her society memberships include: National Wild Life Supporter, New England Wildlife, Massachusetts Audubon and a supporter of Regional Sudbury Trustees and Vermont National Resources Council.

She traveled North America, including Alaska and Hawaii, plus Maritime provinces of Canada to Nova Scotia, as well as Great Britain, Europe, Israel, North Africa and South American via the Panama Canal.

Mrs. Brown leaves: two step-daughters, Mrs. Margaret Christie of West Hartford, Conn. and Mrs. Katharine Gauffreau of Presque Isle, Maine; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Donations in may be made in her memory to the Hancock Church Memorial Fund, 1912 Massachusetts Ave., Lexington, Mass., 02173.

Arrangements were under the direction of Douglass Funeral Home and burial was held in Westminster Cemetery in Westminster.

Helen C. Bertini

A funeral service was held Saturday for Helen C. Bertini, 85, formerly of Lexington, who died Tuesday, June 24 in Franklin, N.H. of heart disease.

She was the wife of the late Charles Efthimiou.

Born in Cambridge, she was the daughter of the late Casimir and Louise (Bartolena) Bertini.

An accomplished business woman, Mrs. Bertini was an accountant. She ran her own trucking company, and was a financial investor for 30 years. She enjoyed the stock market, cooking and reading, and was a member of St. Brigid's Church.

She leaves: a daughter, Louise Nyberg of Franklin, N.H.; a brother, Henry Bertini of Cambridge; seven grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

She was also the sister of the late Benedict, Robert and Albert Bertini.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Bertini's memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, Mass., 01701-4688 or the Franklin Visiting Nurse Assoc., 75 Chestnut St., Franklin, N.H., 03235.

Burial was held in Westview Cemetery in Lexington, and arrangements were under the direction of Douglass Funeral Home.

Trudy Frith

A funeral service was held Saturday for Trudy Frith, 60, a graduate of Lexington High School, who died at home Wednesday, June 25 after a short illness.

Ms. Frith was employed in the data processing field.

She was a resident of Mansfield for the past 10 years.

She leaves: a sister, Marjorie A. Frith of Carver.

Arrangements were under the direction of Douglass Funeral Home.

Donations in Ms. Frith's memory may be made to the Hospice Department, 141 Park St., Attleboro, Mass., 02703, or to Just Cats, Inc., P.O. Box 531, Mansfield, Mass., 02048.

Francis T. Quinn

A funeral service was held Tuesday, June 10 for Francis T. Quinn, 57, who died at home in Bedford on Friday, June 6 after a brief illness.

He was the husband of Carol (Clark) Quinn.

Born in Brookline, he graduated from Rindge High School in Cambridge and joined the U.S. Air Force. After an honorable discharge in October 1965, Mr. Quinn attended Wentworth Technical Institute in Boston, studying HVAC. He moved to Bedford with his family in 1973. Prior to his retirement, he worked for Litton Optical Corporation in Lexington.

Mr. Quinn was a member of American Legion Post #221 and Bedford's V.F.W. post.

In addition to his wife, he leaves: two sons, Michael J. and Joseph F. of Bedford; a daughter, Kristen of Watertown; and his father, Anthony Chiampa of Medford.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Shawsheen Funeral Home in Bedford.

James F. McKinney Jr.

A funeral service was held Tuesday for James F. McKinney Jr., formerly of Lexington, who died Saturday, June 21 at his residence in Hampstead, N.H. following a lengthy illness.

He was the husband of Bernice McKinney for 47 years.

Born in Lexington, he attended Lexington schools, and spent summers with his family in Hampstead for over 40 years, making it a permanent residency eight years ago.

In 1949, he was involved in a serious auto accident which left 90 percent of his body burned. He was a patient in the Walter Reed Army Hospital in Washington, D.C. for 1 1/2 years. During this time he married his wife in the hospital chapel.

He served in the U.S. Air Force in Germany in the late 1940s.

Mr. McKinney was employed as a mechanical engineer for Lemesseurs for 20 years before retiring

He was a member of the Hampstead Congregational Church, and the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 8 of New Hampshire and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Hampstead Post 11254.

In addition to his wife, he leaves: his mother, Laura Mary McKinney of Lexington; one son, James F. McKinney III of Sacramento, Calif.; two brothers, Joseph F. McKinney of Lexington and John F. McKinney of Dudley; and four grandchildren.

He was also the father of the late John F. McKinney, and the son of the late James F. McKinney Sr.

Donations may be made in Mr. McKinney's memory to the Hampstead Congregational Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 508, Hampstead, N.H. 03841.

Arrangements were under the direction of Goundrey Funeral Home in Salem, N.H.

James G. Andolina

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 30 at Christ Church in Harwichport for James G. Andolina, 94, formerly of Lexington, who died Wednesday, June 11 in Bristol, R.I. at the home of his granddaughter.

Born in Santa Caterina, Sicily, he came to the United States at the age of two. He was educated in East Boston, and settled in Lexington with his family in 1933. He was employed as a supervisor at Cambosco Scientific Company in Brighton.

He had been a longtime resident of Cranberry Point Nursing Home in Harwich.

Mr. Andolina was an active member of the Lexington Lions Club and the Church of Our Redeemer. He was a champion candlepin bowler and enjoyed skiing, fishing and gardening.

He leaves: a son, Dr. Michele Andolina of South Harwich; a daughter, Mrs. Sherry Barker of Ocala, Fla., a sister, Mary Gazzara of East Boston; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurse Service of Newport County, 1184 East Main Road, Portsmouth, R.I., 02871.

Burial will be held at Westview Cemetery in Lexington.

Lorraine H. Bowen

A funeral service was held at St. Eulalia's Church in Winchester for Lorraine H. (Carota) Bowen, 51, of Lexington, who died Wednesday, June 18 at the Lahey Hitchcock Medical Center in Burlington.

She was the wife of Reginald Bowen.

Born in Arlington, she was the daughter of Helen (Siekman) and the late Louis G. Carota.

Mrs. Bowen was employed as a realtor for Century 21 in Lexington.

In addition to her husband, she leaves: her mother, Helen Carota of Waltham; a daughter, Michele Karayan of Woburn; a brother, Paul L. Carota of Lowell; four sisters, Lois A. Maxner of Tamworth, N.H., JoAnne A. Morneweck of Tewksbury, Janet M. Bedard of Methuen and Helen F. DeCelle of Tewksbury; and one grandson.

Burial was held in Westview Cemetery in Lexington, and arrangements were under the direction of Hamilton Funeral Home in Pepperell.

Margaret L. Hoy

A funeral service was held June 14 for Margaret L. (Long) Hoy, 78, a Lexington resident, who died June 11 at Mt. Auburn Hospital due to complications from a stroke.

She was the wife of the late William V. Hoy.

Born in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late George E. and Agnes G. Long. She attended St. Gregory's High School, and Massachusetts College of Art.

Mrs. Hoy was employed as a legal secretary from 1960 until she retired in 1970. She enjoyed gardening, reading, traveling and homemaking, and was interested in history, particularly of New England and Lexington.

She was also a member of the Lexington Council on Aging, and St. Brigid's Church in Lexington.

Mrs. Hoy leaves: one son, Walter T. Rogers of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; two daughters, Lee Ann Johnson of Boothbay, Maine and Diane M. Penachio of Ipswich; and seven step-grandchildren.

Donations may be made in her memory to the charity of one's choice.

Arrangements were under the direction of Douglass Funeral Home and burial was held in Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C.
