Elizabeth Revis

Elizabeth (Davidson) Revis of Hudson, formerly of Lexington, died Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2006. She was the wife of the late David Revis.

Mrs. Revis is the mother of Heather and Wayne Finnegan of Sherborn, Jonathan and Irene Revis of _Pepperell and Martha and David Stering of Hudson and sister of Jay and Norma Davidson of New Jersey. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and her beloved Phurby and Kat.

Graveside services were held Friday, Nov. 24 at the Westview Cemetery, Lexington. Shiva will be private. Remembrances may be made to the Jimmy Fund, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Att. Contribution Services, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Fl., Brookline, MA -2445.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Levine Chapels, Brookline.

Paul James Rockwell

Paul J. Rockwell, of Arlington, died Sunday, Oct. 29, 2006. He was the husband of Margaret (Rowe) Rockwell of Keene, N.H.

He was the son of Elizabeth A. (Roby) Rockwell of Lexington.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a son, Chris P. Rockwell; a brother, James P. Rockwell Jr. of Nashua, N.H.; and a sister, Wendy E. Rockwell and her husband, John Vitro, of San Diego, Calif.; uncle of Max Vitro, Audrie Rockwell, Eleanor Rockwell and James P. Rockwell III, and the friend of Grapey.

Burial was in Westview Cemetery, Lexington.

Phoebe Palmer
Thursday, March 17, 2005

Phoebe (Nichols) Palmer, 95, died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005, at Brookhaven at Lexington. She was the wife of the late George A. Palmer.

She was born in Lexington on July 1, 1909, the daughter of the late Bertha (Redman) and Howard S.O. Nichols. Mrs. Palmer was a 1931 graduate of Smith College.

Mrs. Palmer was employed as a medical secretary at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

She is survived by a nephew, the Rev. Edward Nichols; and a niece, Lucy French.

She was the sister of the late Elizabeth Nichols, Miriam Nichols, and Edward Nichols.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, April 2, at the United Church of Christ (Hancock Church), Lexington. Burial is in Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge.

For those who wish, contributions in Mrs. Palmer's memory may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Arrangements were under the care of the Douglass Funeral Home, Lexington.

Susan Plumb
Thursday, March 17, 2005

Susan G. (Panzer) Plumb, of Lexington, died Sunday, March 13, 2005, at her home. She was the wife of W. Scott Plumb.

She was born in New York City. Mrs. Plumb received her bachelor of arts degree from Queens College, and her master's in counseling from Boston University.

Mrs. Plumb was employed as a teacher, guidance counselor, social worker and child advocate for more than 35 years, and most recently at the Anne Sullivan Center for Early
Intervention in Lowell.

She enjoyed traveling to Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Greece and the Islands, and Tuscany.

Mrs. Plumb also enjoyed Reiki and Qui Jong.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Joshua Plumb and his wife, Dorothy, of Waltham, and Jonathan Plumb and his wife, Kristen, in New York; a daughter,
Jessica Plumb of Stockbridge; a sister, Arlene Taub in New York; and a sister-in-law, Cynthia Plumb of Milton.

A funeral service was held March 16, at the Saville & Grannan Funeral Home in Arlington Center. Burial as in Westview Cemetery, Lexington.

Joseph Baptista
Thursday, March 17, 2005

Joseph E. Baptista, 78, died Friday, March 11, 2005. He was the husband of Elizabeth (Millett) Baptista.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Mr. Baptista was the owner of U-Need-A-Market in Cambridge.

He was a member of the Cambridge Am Vets and Norwood American Legion No. 70.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Joseph E. Baptista Jr. and his wife, Pamela, of Woburn, and Edward Baptista and his wife, Maureen, of Tewksbury; two
daughters, Jean Helstrom of Belmont, and Carol Arria and her husband, John, of Shrewsbury; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, Manuel Baptista of Lexington; and a sister, Evelyn Dukeman of Easton.

He was the brother of the late Mary Lipizzi, Agnes Simmons, Emily Medeiros, Marion Baptista, and Theresa Lipizzi A funeral was held from the Stanton Funeral Home in Watertown, followed by a funeral Mass in St. Luke's Church, Belmont. Burial was in St. Patrick's Cemetery.

Gary Hubert

Gary A. Hubert, 51, died Thursday, March 3, 2005, in a battle with a fire in his home.

He was born in Lawrence, Kan., on May 15, 1953, the son of Nancy (Lansdon) and Ronald E. Hubert of Lexington. The family moved to Wichita, Kan., for a short time, then to Lexington. His father's work took the family to the Marshall Islands in the South Pacific for two years. The family returned to Lexington where Mr. Hubert graduated from Lexington High School.

While in high school, Mr. Hubert was active in theater productions, Boy Scouts and was an involved member of the Methodist Church and later the Unitarian Church. He also volunteered as a counselor and board member of RePlace. His love of rock climbing and adventure took him to California where he spent a year at Yosemite. He worked in San Diego for a time before settling in Seattle, where he worked the past 17 years at Quinton Instruments.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his daughter, Rachel and her mother, Julie King, of Seattle; his brothers and sisters, Janet Hubert, M.D. of Dexter, Mich., David Hubert of Waltham, Rebecca Wood of Sudbury, and Thomas Hubert of Lexington; his aunts and uncles, James Hubert of Grosse Pointe, Mich., Robert Hubert of Lawrence, Kan., Carolyn (Hubert) Schultz of Fairplay, Colo., Charles M. Lansdon of Garden City, Kan., Greg Lansdon of Tucson, Ariz., Elizabeth Perrin of Malibu, Calif., and Lolita Stansifer of Muskogee, Okla.

Services were held in Seattle on March 8. Memorial gifts in Mr. Hubert's name may be made to the College Trust fund for his daughter, Rachel, to Julie King in trust for Rachel King, and mailed to Julie King, 11331 36th Ave. NE, Seattle, WA 98125.

Arthur Ballou
Thursday, March 23, 2006

Arthur L. Ballou, 93, a Lexington resident for more than 55 years, died Sunday, March 19, 2006, at MetroWest Medical Center-Framingham Union Hospital.

He lived for the last year and a half at Sunrise Assisted Living in Wayland.

He was the husband of the late Bertha (Peckham) Ballou.

Virginia Nussbum
Thursday, March 17, 2005

Virginia M. Nussbum, 90, died Friday, March 11, 2005, in Cambridge. She was the wife of the late William L. Nussbum.

She was born in Greenfield on Feb. 8, 1915, the daughter of the late Edith (Fay) and Frank J. Martin. Mrs. Nussbum graduated from Turners Falls High School in 1932, and the Wesson Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Springfield as a registered nurse in 1934. Mrs. Nussbum was a resident of Brookhaven at Lexington since 1993.

Mrs. Nussbum was employed as a psychiatric nurse at the Veteran's Hospital in Bedford from 1935 to 1939; and an operating room nurse at Symmes Arlington Hospital and Winchester Hospital in the 1960s.

She worked for the state of Massachusetts Ombudsman program from 1978 to 1988, monitoring patient nursing home care, at Carleton Willard in Bedford.

She is survived by a son, William R. Nussbum and his wife, Eunice, of Westford; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A funeral was held March 15, at the Douglass Funeral Home in Lexington. Burial was in Westview Cemetery, Lexington.

Catherine Haedinger

Catherine W. "Kay" (Wilson) Haedinger, 88, of Portland, died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2005.

She was born in Woburn, and raised in Lexington, the daughter of the late Frances (Porter) and Matthew S. Wilson. Mrs. Haedinger graduated from Lexington High School in 1935.

Mrs. Haedinger joined the Marine Corps during World War II, and served in California and Oregon.

In October 1946, she married John W. Haedinger, a native Oregonian at The First Baptist Church in Lexington, where they lived for two years before moving to Oregon, where they raised their family.

In addition to her husband of 58 years, she is survived by a son, Jack Haedinger; a daughter, Jane Haedinger; and three granddaughters.

She was the sister of the late Libby Gould and James Wilson.
