Ethel Pascoe

Funeral Services were held on Wednesday February 5, 2003 for Mrs. Ethel Pascoe (Harding). Mrs. Pascoe was born on June 18, 1906 in Woonsocket, RI, a daughter of the late Silas and Marguerite (Horan) Harding. She moved to Watertown as a young girl. She graduated from Watertown High School. Ethel had worked for many years for a fraternal insurance company in Boston and had been an active member of St. John’s United Methodist Church in Watertown. Mrs. Pascoe died on Saturday February 1, 2003 at the Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge at the age of 96.

She was predeceased by her husband Clifford F. Pascoe and is survived by her four children: Donald B. Pascoe of Mystic, CT, Kenneth H. Pascoe of Laconia, NH and Tequesta, FL, Allan B. Pascoe and Ruth E. Pascoe both of Watertown. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 o’clock noon in the MacDonald, Rockwell Funeral Home at 6 Riverside St. (cnr. North Beacon St.) WATERTOWN SQUARE. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Burial will follow in the Common St. Cemetery in Watertown. The family will receive friends the hour prior to the service at 11:00 o’clock, A.M.

Memorial contributions in Ethel’s memory may be made to the St. John’s United Methodist Church, 80 Mt. Auburn St. Watertown, MA 02472.

Marilyn A. Shaughnessy

A Funeral Service for Marilyn Ann Shaughnessy will be held on Friday, Feb. 14 at 10 AM in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home, 270 Main St., Watertown.

Ms. Shaughnessy was born in Cambridge, on May 13, 1948. She was a lifelong Watertown resident and a graduate of Watertown High School, Class of 1965. Ms. Shaughnessy was the Assistant Business Manager at the Fessenden School, Newton where she had worked for the past 22 years. She died at her residence on Monday, February 10, 2003, at 54 years old.

Daughter of the late Frank T. and Marion “Pat” (Van Horn) Shaughnessy, she leaves a son, Adam D. Shaughnessy of Watertown; and three sisters: Linda J. Fraser of West Newton, Sue E. McDonald of Milford and Franni Morales of Niantic, Conn.

Calling hours will be on Thursday, February 13th from 4-8 PM in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St., on Rte. 20, Watertown. Interment will follow the services in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Watertown. Relatives and friends kindly invited to attend.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA. 01701.

Claudine M. Stephenson

A Funeral Mass for Claudine M. (Heller) Stephenson will be celebrated on Monday, February 10, 2003, in the Church of the Sacred Heart, Watertown.

Mrs. Stephenson was born in Chinook, Montana, on July 19, 1911. She grew up in Portage Wisconsin, and graduated from high school there. She moved to Somerville, MA, in 1971, where she resided until moving to Maristhill in 2001. Mrs. Stephenson died in the Maristhill Nursing Home, Waltham, on Thursday, February 6, 2002. She was 91 years old.

She leaves a niece, Katherine K. Smith of Watertown; a nephew, Thomas B. Heller of Medford; a grandnephew, Thomas B. Heller, Jr.; and a grandniece, Lori Ann Heller.

Daughter of the late Martin A. and Margaret E. (Kiley) Heller, she was also the sister of the late Nestor M. Heller.

The Funeral will be from the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home in Watertown Square at 6 Riverside St., (corner of North Beacon St.) Watertown, on Monday, at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM in the Church of the Sacred Heart, 770 Mount Auburn Street, Watertown, 02472. Interment will be in Saint Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.

Calling hours will be on Sunday afternoon, February 9, 2003, from 2-4 PM, in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 6 Riverside St. (cnr. North Beacon St.) WATERTOWN SQUARE. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.

Kathleen M. Bogosian

A Funeral Mass for Kathleen M. "Kathy" (McKeon) Bogosian, 55, will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 16, 2003, in the Church of St. Luke, 132 Lexington St., Belmont.

She was born in Cambridge, on May 4, 1947, a daughter of Mary E. (Leary) and John M. McKeon. A lifelong resident of Belmont, Mrs. Bogosian was a graduate of Belmont High School Class of 1965. She died in the Sancta Maria Nursing Facility, Cambridge, on Saturday, April 12, 2003.

Mrs. Bogosian worked in the accounting department of Urban Medical Group, Jamaica Plain for the past 11 years, and prior to that had worked at Lotus Corp., Cambridge, Rudolph Beaver Co., Waltham, and Belmont Ford.

She leaves her husband, George J. Bogosian; her mother Mary E. McKeon of Belmont; and her siblings: Patricia Hurley and Rosemary McKeon, both of Belmont, Jack McKeon and his wife Betsey of Marlborough, Mary Jo Mansfield and her husband Richard of Marco Island, Fl.; and a nephew: Ron Hurley of Belmont.

The Funeral will be from the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home in WATERTOWN SQUARE at 6 Riverside St., (crnr. No. Beacon St.) Watertown on Wednesday at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 AM in the Church of St. Luke, 132 Lexington St., Belmont. Interment St. Patrick Cemetery, Watertown.

Calling hours will be on Tuesday, April 15th from 4-8 PM in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home in Watertown Square. Relatives and friend kindly invited to attend.

Walter J. Brown, Jr.

A Funeral Mass for Walter Joseph Brown, Jr., 67, will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 15, 2003, in the Church of Saint Patrick, Watertown.

Mr. Brown was born in Cambridge, MA., on March 29, 1936. He lived most of his life in Watertown, graduated from Watertown High School, and had lived in Waltham for a few years before moving back to Watertown.

He was presently a cashier at the Stop and Shop Market in Waltham and had retired from Raytheon as a Quality Control Inspector. For many years, Mr. Brown a lifelong parishioner of Saint Patrick Parish, had taught in the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine program and sang in the church choir.

Mr. Brown, the President of the 100 Warren Street Tenants Association, died on Friday, April 11, 2003, in the Waltham Hospital, after a recurring heart illness.

He leaves his siblings: Ellen R. Marini of Quincy, Gerald Brown of Hudson, Judith Ann DeMambro of Falmouth, Edward F. Brown of Arlington, Kevin M. Brown of Billerica, Karen M. Cardinal of Hudson, NH and Albert Kurtz of Marlborough; and nieces and nephews.

Son of the late Walter J. and Rita M. (Lynch) Brown, he was also the brother of the late Robert Brown.

The Funeral will be from the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St., on Rte. 20, Watertown, on Tuesday at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 9\o'clock in the Church of St. Patrick, 212 Main St., Watertown. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.

Calling hours will be Monday, April 14th from 4-8 PM in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home on Main Street. Relatives and friends kindly invited to attend.

Violet E. Chevrette

A Funeral Mass for Violet Elna (Sippach) Chevrette, 81, will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 1, 2003, in the Church of Our Lady, Help of Christians, Newton.

Mrs. Chevrette was born on March 5, 1922, in Clinton, MA. She graduated from the Commerce High School in Worcester and had been a Drum Majorette in the American Legion Post Band during her high school years.

During her 61 years in Watertown, Mrs. Chevrette taught baton-twirling and acrobatics at her Watertown studio. She had been a Girl Scout Leader for Watertown Troops at the Parker School, Watertown High School, Perkins School and for the Girl Scout Cadets. Also Mrs. Chevrette had been a Quality Control Inspector for Microwave in Burlington before her retirement twenty years ago.

Mrs. Chevrette also enjoyed winters in Citrus Springs, Fl. and summers on Frye Island, Sebago Lake, Maine. She died in the Newton-Wellesley Hospital on Friday, March 28, 2003, after a long illness.

She leaves her husband of 61 years, Henry A. Chevrette; four children: H. Bruce Chevrette of Lunenburg, Donna Champagne of Watertown, Pamela Higgins of Waltham and Joel Chevrette of Manassas, VA.; a sister: Doris Denham of Holliston; a brother Carl Sippach of Worcester; 16 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Daughter of the late Carl and Viola (Sheridan) Sippach, she was also the grandmother of the late Joseph Higgins.

The Funeral will be from the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St., on Rte. 20, Watertown, on Tuesday at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 o'clock in the Church of Our Lady, Help of Christians, 573 Washington Street, Newton. Interment Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge.

Calling hours will be on Monday from 4-8 PM at the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home on Main Street. Relatives and friends kindly invited to attend.

Madelyn B. Jopilla

A Memorial Mass for Madelyn Burke Jopilla, 90, will be celebrated on Saturday, April 26, 2003, at 10 AM in the Church of Saint Ann, 124 Cochituate Road, Wayland.

Mrs. Jopilla was born in Fitchburg, on December 17, 1912. She was a graduate of Saint Bernard High School, Fitchburg and has lived in Lexington for 20 years. Mrs. Jopilla was a retired Saleslady and had worked in several area department stores. She died on Sunday, April 13, 2003, in the Miriam Boyd Parlin Residence/Hospice, Wayland.

She leaves her daughter, Patricia K. Lubin of Waltham; two grandsons: Gary M. Lubin and his wife Sharon Sullivan of Waltham and Jeffrey D. Lubin and his wife Sandra Lubin of Marlborough.

Wife of the late John J. Jopilla, she was the daughter of the late William F. and Katherine (Tierney) Burke and sister of the late William Burke, Catherine Hennessy, Mildred Wiggins, Irene Curtis, Margaret Deslauriers and Mary Houghton.

Ida D. Myers

Funeral Services for Ida (Schmukler) Myers, 73, will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2003 at 1 PM in The Greater Boston Church of Spiritualism, at the Masonic Center, 32 Church St., Watertown.

Mrs. Myers was born in Rome, Georgia, on January 24, 1930. She graduated from High School there, attended the University of Georgia, and graduated from the Wilson School, Boston.

For many years Mrs. Myers had lived in Marblehead, then Swampscott, before moving to Watertown 15 years ago where she devoted her life to The Greater Boston Church of Spiritualism. She was the Vice President of Administrative Affairs for the church, a member of the International Spiritualist Federation and a Past Board Member of the Massachusetts Association of Spiritualist Churches.

Mrs. Myers, a Medical Laboratory Technician and owner of a laboratory in Lynn, before retiring, was also a member of the Copley Art Society and the Boston Visual Arts Association. She died on Saturday, April 12, 2003, in the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, of renal failure.

She leaves her husband, the Rev. Dr. Erle S. Myers; two sons, Jerold L. Dobrusin of Beverly and Marc S. Dobrusin of Melrose; a brother, Alec Sheron of Atlanta, GA.; a grandson, Joshua M. Dobrusin.

Daughter of the late Samuel and Mary Schmukler, she was also the sister of the late Josh Schmulker.

Calling hours will be on Tuesday, April 15th from 4-8 PM in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St., on rte. 20, Watertown. Relatives and friends kindly invited to attend.

Paul A. Standard
Postal Employee

Funeral Serrvices will be held on Saturday April 5, 2003 for Mr. Paul A. Standard. Mrs. Standard was born in Boston, grew up in Watertown and graduated from Watertown High School. He enlisted in the Army during World War II in 1943, serving until his discharge in 1945. He was a Letter Carrier for the U. S. Postal Service in Watertown. Mr. Standard died on Thursday April 3, 2003 at the Maristhill Nursing Home in Waltham at the age of 86.

He was predeceased by his wife of 54 years Shirley R. (Porteus) and is survived by a sister-in-law Marjorie A. Anderson of Willmington, and two brother-in-laws: Charles Porteus of Jacksonville, FL and Alan Dacey of Loudenville, NY. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A Visiting Hour will be held in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home in WATERTOWN SQUARE at 6 Riverside St. (cnr. of No. Beacon St.) Watertown on Saturday from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 O’Clock. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment Ridgelawn Cemetery.

Sr. Margaret William Buchanan, O.P.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday June 19, 2003 for Sr. Margaret William Buchanan, O.P. Sr. Margaret was born in East Boston, MA a daughter of the late George W. and Margaret (Barry) Buchanan. She was a graduate of Cardinal Cushing High School in South Boston Class of ’49. After High School she entered the Dominican Community and was professed in 1954. She graduated from St. Catharine Junior College in Kentucky in 1958 earning her A.A. in Education. She then attended Siena College in Memphis, TN where she received her B.S. in Ed./Hist./Eng in 1965. In 1971 She graduated from Mundelein in Chicago, IL in 1971 with an M.A. in Religious Studies. Sr. Margaret also studied at DePaul University in Chicago, IL, Catholic University in Ponce, Puerto Rico and Loyola University in Chicago, IL. During her tenure she served in many capacities for the Dominican Community. She had been a teacher in Nebraska, a coordinator of Retired Sisters in West Newton, MA and most recently as a coordinator of The Outreach Program in Lynn, MA from 1992-1994 and the Outreach Program for The Council of Aging in Winthrop since 1994. Sr. Margaret William died on Saturday June 14, 2003 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose after a long illness at the age of 71.

She is survived by a brother George W. Buchanan of Winthrop, a sister, Marie Greenlaw of Winthrop, several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, and her sisters in the Dominican Order. She was predeceased by a sister Eileen Green.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday Evening at 7:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Rosary Manor, One Rosary Drive, Siena Village, (off Lexington St.) Watertown, MA. Visitation will be held in the Chapel prior to the Mass from 3-6:45 P.M. A Prayer of Final Commendation will be held on Thursday morning at 10:00 A.M. in the Chapel. Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Watertown.

Memorial contributions may be made in Sister’s memory to the Dominican Sisters Development Fund, One Rosary Drive, Siena Village, Watertown, MA 02472.
