EILEEN FRANCES COFFEY

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday June 17, 2003 for Ms. Eileen Frances Coffey. Ms. Coffey was born in Watertown, a daughter of the late John Joseph and Mary Katherine (French) Coffey. She was a graduate of Watertown High School Class of 1949 and has been a lifelong resident of Watertown. Eileen workded for 40 years as a Bookkeeper with the Bachrach Photography Studio in Watertown, retiring in 1998. She enjoyed knitting and was active in the Watertown High School Class of ’49 reunion committees. Ms. Coffey died on Friday June 13, 2003 at her residence at the age of 71.

She was the dear sister of Mary A. Cousineau and her husband Frank of Watertown, Eugene J. Coffey of Hudson, Patricia Ann McGrath of Watertown, Sheila C. McShane and her husband Edward of Natick, and the late John J. Coffey, and Joan F. O’Connell. She was the sister-in-law of Janet Coffey, David O’Connell and the late Joseph McGrath. She is also survived by her dear friends: Charlotte Murray and James McDade both of Watertown.

Funeral Services will be held from the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St. on Rt. 20, WATERTOWN on Tuesday at 8:00 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00 O’Clock in Our Lady Help of Christians Church 573 Washington St. Newton, MA. Interment Ridgelawn Cemetery, watertown, MA. Calling hours will be held in the Funeral Home from 4-8 P.M. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.

John P. McDevitt

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday June 14, 2003 for Mr. John P. McDevitt. Mr. McDevitt was born in Cambridge, MA a son of the late Charles P. and Margaret (Geoghegan). He was a 1948 graduate of St. Columbkille’s High School in Brighton. After High School he served with the U. S. Marines during the Korean conflict. Mr. McDevitt was a life member and past Commander of the Marine Corps League and was recently awarded a Silver Medal for his meritorious service to the Marine Corps League, Shutt Detachment in Watertown and a member of the V.F.W. Post #440 in Newton.
Mr. McDevitt worked as a delivery route driver for the Pepsi Cola Company in Boston for 38 years retiring in 1993. He had been a Watertown resident for many years. He died on Wednesday June 11, 2003 at his residence at the age of 72.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years Barbara L. (Caroselli) McDevitt. He was the father of Susan McDevitt Church and her husband Bruce of Kennebunkport, ME, Daniel Patrick McDevitt and his wife Audrey of Billerica, Matthew M. McDevitt of Watertown and Kimberly McCusker and her husband Michael of Westford and the late Kathleen Anne Legere. He was also survived by 6 loving grandchildren and was the brother of Mary Caulfield, Thomas McDevitt, Eileen Cochrane, Robert McDevitt, Anne Fay, James McDevitt and the late Charles M McDevitt.

Funeral Services will be held from the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St. on Rt. 20, WATERTOWN on Saturday at 8:00 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00 O’Clock in the Church of St. Patrick, 212 Main St., Watertown. Interment Ridgelawn Cemetery. Visiting hours Friday 4-8 P.M. Relatives and friends kindly invited.

Rita E. Brannelly

A Funeral Mass for Rita Ellen Brannelly, 89, will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 13, 2003, in Our Lady of Mercy Church, Belmont.

Ms. Brannelly was born in Boston on November 13, 1913. She was a graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School, Jamaica Plain and the Boston Business School. In the early 1980s, she retired as the Office Manager for P.J. Hartnett Trucking Co, after 50 years with the company.

Ms. Brannelly, a former member of the Philomathia Club and the Ladies Hibernians had also volunteered at Mount Auburn Hospital. A resident of Watertown for the past 30 years and a former resident of Belmont, Ms. Brannelly died in the Mount Auburn Hospital, Cambridge, on Monday morning, August 11, 2003.

She leaves three nephews: Robert M. Brannelly and wife Donna of Holliston, James P. Brannelly and wife Mary of Maynard, Richard P. Brannelly and wife Pauline of Watertown; three nieces: Elizabeth Ann Auteri and husband Alan of Hopkinton, Kathleen M. Brannelly of Newton and Maureen E. Leese and husband Gordon of Duxbury; 5 grandnephews and a grandniece.

Daughter of the late Patrick J. and Ellen (Mitchell) Brannelly, she was the sister of the late Thomas P. Brannelly.

The Funeral will be from the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St., on Rte. 20, Watertown, on Wednesday at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 o'clock in Our Lady of Mercy Church, 401 Belmont St., Belmont. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.

Calling hours will be on Tuesday, August 12th from 5-8 PM in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home on Main Street. Relatives and friends kindly invited to attend.

Edith Constance Lord
105 Years

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday August 13, 2003 for Mrs. Edith C. Lord. Mrs. Lord was born in Leicester, England a daughter of the late James Edward and Edith Louisa (Allen) Moore. She had been employed for many years with the Hood Rubber Company, formerly in Watertown and had later been employed as a Salesperson with the J. C. Penney Company formerly in Waltham. She had been a Watertown resident for over 25 years. Mrs. Lord died on Saturday August 9, 2003 at her residence at the age of 105.

Mrs. Lord was the wife of the late Joseph A. Lord and mother of J. Lawrence “Larry” Lord, retired Watertown Firefighter of Watertown and the late Laura Viau and Elsie Kuck. She was survived by 6 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held from the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home in WATERTOWN SQUARE at 6 Riverside St. (cnr. of No. Beacon St.) Watertown on Wednesday at 8:00 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00 O’Clock in the Church of St. Patrick, 212 Main St. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Paul M. Luck

A Funeral Service for Paul Marcus Luck, 36, will be held on Friday, August 8, 2003, at 2 PM in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St., on Rte. 20, Watertown.

Mr. Luck was born in Cambridge on January 31, 1967, a son of Alfred and Marilyn (Luck) Muskalski. He grew up in Waltham and graduated from Waltham High School. He received a Bachelor’s degree from Boston College, Chestnut Hill, in 1990 and a Master of Science degree in Accounting from Bentley College, Waltham, in 1992.

Mr. Luck was a Partner at Logix, Waltham, a professional recruitment firm and a resident of Watertown for many years. He died suddenly on Wednesday, July 30, 2003, in St. John, Virgin Islands, while on vacation.

He leaves his mother, Marilyn (Luck Muskalski) DeCourcey of Watertown; a sister, Lisa M. Alexander of Watertown; two brothers: James J. Muskalski and Philip C. Muskalski, both of Waltham; his fiancé, Monique Bonhomme; aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Calling hours will be in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home on Main Street on Thurs. from 7-9 PM. The Funeral Services will be on Fri. at 2 PM in the Funeral Home and interment will be on Saturday, Aug. 9, at 1 PM in the Chadwick Hill Cemetery, China, Maine. Relatives and friends kindly invited to attend.

Lorraine H. McDonald

Funeral Services will be held on Monday August 4, 2003 for Mrs. Lorraine H. McDonald. Mrs. McDonald was born in Cambridge, MA a daughter of the late Joseph and Katherine (Rogers) Hillery. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Brookline, and later attended Simmons College and Bryant & Stratton Business School. She first was employed for the War Department in Ordinance. She later worked for many years with her husband in the McDonald Sales Food Brokerage formerly in Watertown. Mrs. McDonald had been a Watertown resident for the past 52 years. She died on Thursday July 31, 2003 at the Hammond Pointe at Chestnut Hill at the age of 85.

She was the wife of the late James E. McDonald; mother of Marie C. Concannon and her husband William of Newton and Christopher A. and his wife Despina of Benbrook, TX.; grandmother of Megan McGrath and her husband Christopher, Sara Concannon, Sheila Concannon and James J. McDonald; and sister of Barbara Tierney of Beverly and the late Joseph Hillery, John Hillery, Paul Hillery and Kathleen Enos.

Funeral Services will be held from the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home in WATERTOWN SQUARE at 6 Riverside St. (cnr. of No. Beacon St.) Watertown on Monday at 8:00 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00 O’Clock in the Our Lady Help of Christians Church, 573 Washington St. Newton. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment Cambridge Cemetery. Visiting hours Sunday 3-6 PM.

Evelyn "Evy" McElhiney

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday August 14, 2003 for Mrs. Evelyn "Evy" McElhiney. Mrs. McElhiney was born in Buffalo, New York, a daughter of the late John and Dagney (Hansen) Knudsen. She moved to Watertown when she was in the 4th grade and attended the Watertown Public Schools graduating from Watertown High School. She had been a Watertown resident for over 80 years. Mrs. McElhiney died on Saturday August 9, 2003 at the Emerson Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Watertown at the age of 92.

Mrs. McElhiney was predeceased by her husband Ernest Norman McElhiney and three sisters: Helen M. Beharrell, Thelma Bennett and Esther Clark. She is the aunt of Janice M. Lambert of Hollis, NH, Shirley L. Mead of Sarasota, FL, Robert Clark of Jasper, FL, Judith Shenk of Astoria, OR, Lynn McElhiney of Boston, Bertram McElhiney of NC, Robin Knox of Watertown and James MvElhiney of Shrewsbury.

A Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 1:30 P.M. in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home in WATERTOWN SQUARE at 6 Riverside St. (cnr. of No. Beacon St.) St. Relatives and friends kindly invited. A Visiting Hour will be held from 12:30 – 1:30 P.M.

Edna M. McManus

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday August 5, 2003 for Mrs. Edna M. McManus. Mrs. McManus was born in Newton, a daughter of the late Francis G. and Lillian (Higbee ) Feeley. She grew up in Newton and graduated from Newton High School and the Newton College of the Sacred Heart. For many years Edna was employed as a Telephone Operator at the Newton-Wellesley Hospital. She had been a Watertown resident for the past 56 years. Mrs. McManus died on Saturday August 2, 2003 at the Elizabeth Seton Residence in Wellesley Hills at the age of 85.

She was the wife of the late Joseph P. and is survived by her six children: J. Paul McManus of Lexington, Robert McManus of Providence, RI, James McManus of Belmont, Jane Ellen Kenslea of Newton, Jay McManus of Arlington, and Timothy McManus of Watertown. She was also survived by her 17 grandchildren: Kara, Jackie, Francis, Roisin, Jenny, David, Katie, Matt, Eric, Corey, Kelly, Tessa, Patrick, Annie, Timmy, Bryan and Carly. She was predeceased by her sister Alice Mahoney and her brother Francis Feeley.

RUTH M. Pelletier

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated for Ruth M. (Dallaire) Pelletier, 90, on Tuesday, August 12, 2003, in the Church of Saint Patrick, Watertown.

Mrs. Pelletier was born in Amesbury, MA., on April 30, 1913. She was a graduate of the Sacred Heart Academy in Amesbury and has lived in Watertown for the past 56 years. Mrs. Pelletier had a beautiful singing voice and had sung in the choir of Sacred Heart Church, Amesbury.

Mrs. Pelletier, an accomplished seamstress who also enjoyed crocheting and knitting, died on Wednesday, August 6, 2003, in her Watertown residence.

She leaves three devoted daughters: Jocelyn R. Inzana and her husband Peter A. Inzana, Sr. of Arlington, Diane P. Keeley and her husband Robert M. Keeley, Sr., of Holliston and Joyce P. MacDonald and her husband James R. MacDonald of Byfield; a sister, Lorette Melanson of Amesbury; two brothers: Aime “Rusty” Dallaire of Daytona, Fl. and George Dallaire of Salem, NH.

She also leaves 12 loving grandchildren: Donna Brown and her husband Christopher Mayer of South Boston, Karen Brown and her husband David Curreri of Chelsea, S. Sgt. Thomas W. Brown, U.S.M.C. stationed in Iraq, Peter A. Inzana, Jr. and his wife Valerie of Swampscott, Daniel Inzana and his wife Andrea of Tewksbury, Robert M. Keeley, Jr. and his wife Sarah of Hopkinton, Christopher T. Keeley and his wife Patricia of Needham, Timothy J. MacDonald of Beaver Falls, PA, Rebecca J. MacDonald, Hannah R. MacDonald, Sarah H. MacDonald and Leah G. MacDonald all of Byfield, MA.; and nine great-grandchildren.

Beloved wife of the late Robert Pelletier to whom she was married for 51 years when he died in September 1992; daughter of the late Aime B. and Exilda (Trottier) Dallaire; and sister of the late Jeanette Dansreau, Anthony Dallaire, Muriel Dallaire, Joseph Dallaire and Charles Dallaire.

The Funeral will be from the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St., on Rte. 20, Watertown, on Tuesday at 9:30 AM followed by a Memorial Mass at 10:30 o'clock in the Church of St. Patrick, 212 Main St., Watertown. Interment Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.

Donald F. Quin

Retired Boston Police Officer

A Funeral Mass for Donald Francis Quin, 78, will be celebrated on Thursday, August 14, 2003, in the Church of St. Columbkille, Brighton.

Mr. Quin was born in Quincy, on August 14, 1924. A lifelong Brighton resident and a graduate of Saint Columbkille High School, he was a veteran of World War II having served with the United States Navy aboard the USS New Jersey in the Pacific Theater. He received the Asiatic Pacific Ribbon 9 Stars and the Philippine Liberation Medal 2 Stars.

Mr. Quin was appointed to the Boston Police Department in 1954 and served for 33 years, many of which were at Precinct One, until his retirement in 1987. For the next ten years he was a gate attendant for the functions and athletic events at Boston College, Chestnut Hill.

Mr. Quinn, a member of the Boston Patrolmen’s Association and the Knights of Columbus, Council 121, Brighton, on Saturday, August 9, 2003, in the Caritas Saint Elizabeth’s Medical Center, Brighton, after a sudden illness. He would have been 79 on Thursday, Aug. 14th.

He leaves five children: Donald F. Quin, Jr. of Brighton, Kathleen B. Brennan and husband Timothy of Hopedale, Peter J. Quin of Middletown, R.I., Paul J. Quin and wife Mary of Burnsville, Minn. and Stephen J. Quin of Brighton; two brothers: Joseph F. Quin and Gerard J. Quin of Canton; two sisters: Catherine Mahan of Hyde Park and Lucy Cunningham of Walpole; and four grandchildren: Timothy Brennan and Tabitha Brennan of Hopedale, Daniel and Michael Quin of Burnsville, Minn.

Beloved husband of the late Jean F. (Morrison) Quin who died in Feb. 1987 and son of the late William and Mary (MacDonald) Quin, he was also the brother of the late William J. Quin, Elizabeth Forbes, Edmund Quin, Mary Murphy, John Quin, Francis Quin, Margaret Pacino and Robert E. Quin.

The Funeral will be from the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St., on Rte. 20, Watertown, on Thursday at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 o'clock in the Church of St. Columbkille, 321 Market St., Brighton. Interment St. Patrick Cemetery, Watertown.

Calling hours will be on Wednesday, August 13th, from 4-8 PM in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home on Main Street. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
