Chester S. Osiecki
A Funeral Mass for Chester Stephen Osiecki, 82, will be celebrated on Saturday, August 5, 2006, in the Church of Saint Patrick, Watertown, MA.

Mr. Osiecki died on July 27th in Las Vegas, Nevada after a long illness. Born July 23, 1924 in Chelsea, Massachusetts, Mr. Osiecki attended Chelsea High School and Louisiana State University and was a US Army Air Force veteran of World War II.

Mr. Osiecki worked for many years at the Watertown Arsenal and later at the Boston Naval Shipyard until his retirement. He was active in Watertown as a supporter of Little League, and was a parishioner at St. Patrick’s Parish. He showed his continual concern for the poor and underprivileged of the world through his contributions to children’s relief agencies and through his support for various programs for the needy at home.

He leaves 4 children: Stephen Osiecki of Honolulu, Gail Humphrey of Greensboro North Carolina, Kim Gallo of Las Vegas Nevada, and Eric Osiecki of North Easton Massachusetts, six grandchildren; a brother Emil Osiecki of Brockton; and 2 sisters: Valerie Kwiatkowski and Mary Sadowski of Chelsea.

Mr. Osiecki was the loving husband of the late Roberta Perkins Osiecki of Watertown who died in December 1985, son of the late Oscar and Pearl (Jankowski) Osiecki, and brother of the late Agnes McLain, Helen Mullett, and Walter Osiecki.

The Funeral will be from the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St., on Rte. 20, Watertown, on Saturday at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 o'clock in the Church of Saint Patrick, 212 Main St., Watertown, MA. Interment will be in Saint Patrick Cemetery, Watertown, MA.

Calling hours will be on Friday, August 4th from 4-7 PM in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home on Main Street. Relatives and friends kindly invited to attend.

Susan E. Guidrey
A Memorial Service for Susan Elizabeth Guidrey will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2006, at 4 PM in the First Parish Unitarian-Universalist Church, 35 Church St., Watertown. Ms. Guidrey died from kidney cancer, on Sunday, July 23, 2006, in the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston. She was 52 years old.

Ms. Guidrey was born in Cambridge and grew up in Franklin, MA. She was a graduate of Franklin High School and received a degree in Economics from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. Ms. Guidrey furthered her education receiving a Master in Business Administration from Columbia University and a Master of Science in Taxation from Bentley College.

Ms. Guidrey, a Certified Public Accountant and a Chartered Financial Analyst, was an accountant at the Boston District Office of the Securities and Exchange Commission. She was a member of the First Parish Unitarian-Universalist in Watertown and a musician in several community orchestras including the Middlesex Concert Band, Waltham Philharmonic and the Rivers School of Music in Weston.

Daughter of Janet (Field) Guidrey of Osterville and the late Philip R. Guidrey, other family members include Valentia McDonald of Watertown, Alan and Sandra Guidrey of Wayland, Nancy Lovely of Franklin, Philip and Jennifer Guidrey of Suffield, CT, Carla and Rich Stafford of Wayland, several nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan E. Guidrey Financial Planning and Education Fund at the Cambridge Women’s Center, 46 Pleasant St., Cambridge, MA. 02139 or to the Kidney Cancer Association, 1234 Sherman Ave., Suite 203, Evanston, IL 60202.

MARIE G. HARRINGTON
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday July 26, 2006 for Mrs. Marie G. Harrington. Mrs. Harrington was born in Watertown,a daughter of the late Andrew B. and Elizabeth Ann (Tiffany) Swift. She grew up in Watertown, graduating from St. Patrick’s High School in 1936 and has been a lifelong resident. She worked as a clerical worker for 15 years with the Raytheon Company, 5 years with the Shriver Center and 10 years with the Watertown Public Schools. Mrs. Harrington died on Monday July 24, 2006 at the Maristhill Nursing Center in Waltham at the age of 86.

She was the wife of the late Leo F. Harrington, mother of P. Clifford of Afton, MN, Marcia Noborini of Marlborough and Robert S. of Waltham, sister of Dorothy C. Blouin of Rye, NH, Marjorie E. and Richard P. Swift both of Watertown, Robert A. Swift of Burlington and And the late William J., John, Harold, Raymond and James Swift. She was also survived by 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held from the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St. on Rt. 20, WATERTOWN on Wednesday at 8:00 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00 O’Clock in the Church of St. Luke 132 Lexington St., Belmont. Frederick S. Griffin, Sr.
A Funeral Mass for retired Patrolman Frederick Scannell Griffin, Sr., (Watertown Police Department) will be celebrated on Monday, July 10, 2006, in the Church of Saint Patrick, Watertown.

Mr. Griffin was born in Cambridge, a son of Frederick V. and Mary A. (O’Connell) Griffin. He was a graduate of Watertown High School and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Western New England College. Mr. Griffin served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and was stationed overseas in Guam, Japan, and Morocco.

In February 1967, he was appointed a Patrolman to the Watertown Police Department and served until his retirement in 1998. Mr. Griffin served as President of the Watertown Police Association from 1983 to 1988. He was also a member and Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Council #155, Watertown and a Past President of the Watertown Historical Society.

Mr. Griffin lived most of his life in Watertown until moving to Sandwich on Cape Cod in 2001. He died at his residence surrounded by his family on early Wednesday morning, July 5, 2006, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 65 years old.

He leaves his wife of 39 years, Kathleen H. (McCarthy) Griffin; five children: Timothy P. Griffin and his wife Angela of North Attleboro, Frederick S. Griffin, Jr. and his wife Amy of Watertown, Jean H. Mannix and her husband Robert of Belmont, Anne Marie Corbett and her husband Patrick of Watertown and Brian R. Griffin and his wife Jennifer of Waltham.

He also is survived by a brother, Paul F. Griffin of Norton; a sister Joanne Emerson of Long Lake, NY; and 11 grandchildren: Sarah and Lauren Griffin, John Frederick, Mary Kate and Joseph Griffin; Debra, Katherine and Grace Mannix; and Patrick, Daniel and Michael Corbett.

The Funeral will be from the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St., on Rte. 20, Watertown, on Monday at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 o'clock in the Church of Saint Patrick, 212 Main St., Watertown. Interment will be in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Watertown.

M. RITA MUNGER
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday August 30, 2006 for Mrs. M. Rita Munger. Mrs. Munger was born in Watertown, a daughter of the late Maurice H. and Esther M. (Clinton) Costello. She grew up in Watertown, graduating from Watertown High School in 1942 and has been a lifelong resident. She died on Saturday August 26, 2006 at the Emerson Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility in Watertown at the age of 81.

She was the wife of the late Harry Robert Munger; mother of of Maurice J. Munger of Watertown and the late Janet O’Connell; grandmother of Lindsea Rae O’Connell of Plymouth and sister of the late Kathryn T. Hynes, Roberta M. McCarthy and Esther C. McGerigle. She is also survived by her companion Fred Devitt, her brothers-in-law Fred Munger and William McCarthy both of Watertown and Frank Hynes of NY and her sisters-in-law, Joyce Munger and Sr. Theresa Munger both of Watertown and Margaret Burke of Natick. Her many nieces, nephews and friends will fondly remember her for her love of ballroom dancing.

Funeral services will be hld from the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St. on Rt. 20, WATERTOWN on Wednesday at 8:00 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00 O’Clock in the Church of St. Patrick, 212 Main St. Watertown. Interment Ridgelawn Cemetery. Calling hours Tuesday 4-8 P.M. Relatives and friends kindly invited.

Henry A. Maurer

Funeral Services will be held on Friday August 25, 2006 for Mr. Henry A. Maurer. Mr. Maurer was born in Boston, a son of the late Leopold A. and Anna T. Becherer. He grew up in Watertown and has been a lifelong resident. Mr. Maurer was a graduate of the Wentworth Institute where he studied carpentry. He was employed for many years as a Superintendant in Commercial Real Estate with the Boston Wharf Company. He was an honorary member of the Massachusetts Police Chiefs Assn. and a former member of the Catholic Association of Foresters. Mr. Maurer was an avid hunter, enjoying sport shooting and also gardening. He died on Monday August 21, 2006 at the Emerson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Watertown at the age of 98.

He was the husband of the late Florence T. (Harrington) and is survived by his children: Paul A. Maurer and his wife Judith A. of Burlington, Judith A. Maurer of Bedford, NH, David H. Maurer and his wife Theresa of Hampton, NH and Janet Maurer-Heitmiller and her husband Richard of Nashua, NH. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by 9 brothers and sisters.

Funeral Services will be held from the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home in WATERTOWN SQUARE at 6 Riverside St. (cnr. of No. Beacon St.) Watertown on Friday at 8:00 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00 O’Clock in the Church of St. Patrick, 212 Main St. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Interment St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8 PM.

George Richard Paine
A Funeral Service for George Richard Paine, 78, will be held on Friday, August 25, 2006, at 11 AM in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home, Main St., Watertown.

Mr. Paine was born in West Newton and graduate from Newton High School. He served with the US Merchant Marines for many years and then went to work for the Archdiocese of Boston at Saint Patrick Cemetery in Watertown and Calvary Cemetery in Waltham. Mr. Paine, who lived most of his life in Watertown, died in the Middlesex Hospital, Middlebury, Conn., on Sunday, August 20, 2006, after a brief illness.

He was the husband of the late Margaret M. (Kelley) Paine; son of the late Charles R. and Muriel E. (Everett) Paine; brother of the late James S. Paine and Janet C. Geary; and uncle of the late John J. Geary, Jr.

He is survived by a sister-in-law, Blanche A. Paine; a brother-in-law John J. Geary, Sr.; and nieces and nephews: Michael Paine, Bonnie Rooney, Steven Paine, John Paine, Dick Paine, Jeff Geary, Julie Stockbridge and Joel Geary.

Calling hours will be on Thursday, August 23rd from 5-8 PM in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St., on Route 20, Watertown. Following the services on Friday, the interment will be in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Watertown. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.

Carolyn F. Caruso
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 22, 2006 for Mrs. Carolyn F. Caruso. Mrs. Caruso was born in Waltham, a daughter of the late Edward F. and Katherine (Mooney) O’Connell. She grew up in Waltham and graduated from Waltham High School. She then received a B.A. in Education from Framingham State College. Mrs. Caruso taught for several years as a substitute In the Waltham School System. She also worked as a manager of a hairdressing salon and later as a bookkeeper with the Girl Scouts of America. She had been a Watertown resident for over 40 years. Mrs. Caruso died on Friday, August 18, 2006 at the Brooksby Village in Peabody at the age of 66.

She was predeceased by her husband Edward F. Caruso and is survived by three sons: James E. Caruso of Mirimar, FL, David E. Caruso of Bayonne, NJ, Marc E. Caruso of Peabody and the late Anne E. Caruso. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren and two sisters: Maureen LaRose and Janet Jones both of FL.

Funeral Services will be held from the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St., on Rte. 20, Watertown, on Tuesday at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 o'clock in the Church of St. Patrick, 212 Main St. Interment Ridgelawn Cemetery. Calling hours: Monday 2-4 & 7-9 PM.

Maria Sullivan
A Graveside Service for Maria (Hermann) Sullivan, 90, will be held on Friday, August 18th at 11:30 AM in the Ridgelawn Cemetery on Highland Avenue in Watertown.

Mrs. Sullivan was born in Aach-Linz, Germany, one of 6 children of Eugen and Antonie (Sigg) Hermann. She has lived in Watertown since 1956 and was a homemaker. She died on Monday, August 14, 2006, in the Emerson Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Watertown.

Wife of the late MSGT Robert D. Sullivan (US Army, ret.) who died in December of 1986, she leaves nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be on Thursday, August 17th from 2-4 PM in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St., on Route 20, Watertown. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to the services.

Daniel R. O'Neill
A Memorial Service for Daniel Raymond O’Neill, 87, will be held in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main Street, on Route 20, Watertown, MA. on Tuesday, August 15, 2006, at 1 PM .

Mr. O’Neill was born in Medina, New York. He grew up and was educated in upstate New York and has lived in Watertown since 1960. During the 1930s Mr. O’Neill was enrolled in the Civilian Conservation Corps in the Forest Department at Boiceville, NY. During World War II he served in the U.S. Army, saw action overseas in the Rhineland and received the European African Middle East Campaign Medal.

Mr. O’Neill, a First Class Fireman, was a retired employee of the New England Baptist Hospital, Boston. He enjoyed as a hobby collecting bells and was a member of the New England Chapter of the American Bell Association. He died on Friday, August 11, 2006, in the Caritas-St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, Boston.

He leaves three children: John P. O’Neill of Waltham, Marie P. Diodato of Concord, North Carolina, Bernadette O’Neill of Watertown; two step-children: Audrey Denucce and Beverly Van Nostrand, both of Burlington; a sister: Bess Majestic of Gardiner, N.Y.; 2 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Husband of the late Phyllis (Algeri) O’Neill, he was the son of the late John and Anna (Devira) O’Neill and brother of the late Edward O’Neill and Florence Backus.

Richard E. Rowe

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 15, 2006 for Mr. Richard E. Rowe. Mr. Rowe was born in Lancaster, CA, a son of the late Lloyd Clifford Rowe and Sara Carlton (Eastman) Rowe. He grew up in California, graduating from the Antelope Valley Junior College in California. He enlisted in the U. S. Navy during World War II in 1940 and was discharged in 1946 with the rank of Lt. Commander. After the war he was employed as a Vessel Schedule Control Manager with the American President Steamship Lines in Oakland and San Francisco, CA.

He was a member of the 601 Club for retired steamship members, a lifetime member and past Commodore of the San Joyquin Yacht Club, and a member of the Bel Marin Keys Yacht Club of Navato, CA.

Mr. Rowe died on Friday, August 4, 2006 In Navato, CA at the age of 85.

He was the husband of Elizabeth (Hartman) Rowe and the late Beatrice “Betty” (Noble) Rowe.

A Funeral Service will be held in the Church of the Good Shepherd, 9 Russell Ave., Watertown, Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. Interment Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham. Visiting hours in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home in WATERTOWN SQUARE at 6 Riverside St. (cnr. of No. Beacon St.) Watertown Monday 2-4 PM.

Gertrude I. Farrell

A Funeral Mass for Gertrude Irene (Brady) Farrell, 88, will be celebrated on Friday, August 11, 2006, in the Church of Saint Patrick, Watertown.

Mrs. Farrell was born in South Boston. She went to the Christopher Columbus Grammar School in Detroit, Mich. and graduated from Mendon High School in Massachusetts. Mrs. Farrell has been a resident of Watertown for the past 60 years and had at one time worked at Mount Auburn Hospital. She died on Tuesday morning, August 8, 2006 in St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, Boston.

She leaves three children: Mildred E. Murphy of Watertown, Joan M. Flaherty of Valrico, Fla. and Paul J. Farrell of Watertown; a sister, Marian Wood of Largo, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Wife of the late Paul J. Farrell who died in October 1975, she was the daughter of the late James and Bernice (Hewson) Brady and sister of the late Doris Boudreau.

The Funeral will be from the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St., on Rte. 20, Watertown, on Friday at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 o’clock in the Church of Saint Patrick, 212 Main St., Watertown. Interment will be in Saint Patrick Cemetery, Watertown.

Calling hours will be on Thursday, August 10th from 4-8 PM in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home on Main Street. Relatives and friends kindly invited to attend.
