James T. Greenwood

ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. -- James T. Greenwood, 74, of Zephyrhills, formerly of Worcester, Mass., died Tuesday, April 10, in Hernando-Pasco Hospice House, Dade City.

He leaves his wife, Dorothy (Bittner) Greenwood; two sons, James Greenwood Jr. of Lakeland and Michael Greenwood of Worcester; three stepsons, Ernest and David Kotsch and John Green, all of Pennsylvania; two daughters, Debra Gradowski of Zephyrhills and Jane Aubin of Worcester; a brother, Ronald Allen; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was born in Worcester, son of Chester and Nellie (Robertson) Greenwood, and moved to Zephyrhills 30 years ago.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Mr. Greenwood was a truck driver. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8154.

A memorial service will be held in Florida. There are no calling hours. Kelly Memorial Funeral Home, 5221 Eighth St., is directing arrangements.

Elaine Bullard, 73

Tuesday, January 13, 1998

WESTBORO -- Elaine (Ellis) Bullard, 73, of Forest Road, Wolfeboro, N.H., formerly of Hopkinton Road, died yesterday at home after an illness.

Her husband of 47 years, Robert Bullard, died in 1990. She leaves three daughters, Karen Henderson of Scarboro, Maine, Susan Hall of Sebago, Maine, and Janice Lord of Wolfeboro; a brother, Robert Ellis of West Lebanon, N.H.; a sister, Virginia Dudgeon of Lake Wales, Fla.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Born in Douglas, daughter of George and Exelina (Williamson) Ellis, she lived most of her life in Westboro. She spent summers in Wolfeboro since 1952 and moved there full time 10 years ago. She graduated from Westboro High School.

Mrs. Bullard was a volunteer at Huggins Hospital in Wolfeboro, including its Street Fair. She had been a volunteer at the Fallon Clinic in Worcester. She enjoyed playing bridge. She was a former member of First Congregational Church and the Westboro Garden Club.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in First Congregational Church, Main Street, Wolfeboro. Burial will be at a later date in Pine Grove Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurse Association Hospice of Southern Carroll County & Vicinity, PO Box 1620, Wolfeboro, N.H. 03894. Baker-Gagne Funeral Home, Mill Street, Wolfeboro, is directing arrangements.

M. Elizabeth Brown, 90

CROFTON, Md. -- M. Elizabeth “Betty” (White) Brown, 90, of Crofton, formerly of Worcester, Mass., and Auburn, Mass., died Sunday in Crofton Convalescent Center.

Her husband, Edward G. Brown, died in 1959. She leaves a daughter, Mary E. Dolan of Edgewater, with whom she lived; a sister, Ann Armbruster of Gretna, La.; five grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; nephews and nieces. She was born in Peabody, Mass., daughter of Abraham and Mary (Merchant) White, and lived in Worcester and Auburn most of her life before moving to Edgewater in 1992 and then to Crofton Convalescent Center.

Mrs. Brown was a salesperson at Coughlin Electric in Worcester. She later was a salesperson at Denholms, Worcester, for 20 years.

She attended Holy Name Church, Worcester. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Auburn. She enjoyed traveling, needlework and crossword puzzles.

A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester, with a Mass at 11:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, Auburn. There are no calling hours. Robert E. Evans Funeral Home, 16000 Annapolis Road, Bowie, is directing arrangements.

Arthur P. Bove, 86

Wednesday, January 14, 1998

PUTNAM -- Arthur P. Bove, 86, of Putnam, retired editor of Windham County Observer-Putnam Patriot, died Monday in Westview Nursing Care and Rehabilitation Center, Attawaugan, where he had lived for 6 months.

He leaves a sister, Lucy Bove of Putnam; four nephews, Joseph, Kenneth, Howard and Douglas Bove. A sister, Rose Bove LaRose, died in 1996. He was born in Putnam, son of Charles and Rosanna (Rita) Bove, and lived here most of his life. He graduated from Putnam High School in 1929, where he was editor of “The Boy Scout Bugle.” He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving as a sergeant in Europe and the United States, and earned a distinguished unit badge.

Mr. Bove worked at the Windham County Observer-Putnam Patriot for 47 years, 30 as editor. He also wrote and published “First Over Germany.” He was a correspondent for the Hartford Courant and a stringer for the New York Herald-Tribune and the Associated Press.

He was a life member of St. Mary Church of the Visitation. He served on the Putnam Library Board from 1947 until his death. He was a longtime member and past president of Putnam High School Alumni Association. He was also a former member of the Air Force Association. He was a member of many area press associations and a life member and past president and vice president of Classical Association of New England. He enjoyed traveling.

A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow in St. Mary Church of the Visitation, 218 Providence St. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Calling hours are 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. tomorrow at Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity.

Etta I. Smith, 76

WORCESTER -- Etta I. (Mathes) Smith, 76, of 11 Whipple St., died Monday, April 2, at home after an illness.

Her husband of 43 years, William L. Smith, died in 1990. She leaves a son, Wilfred Martin of Fitchburg; two daughters, Karen I. Cardwell and Cheryl L. Feliciano, both of Worcester; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. A daughter, Judith Augusto of Worcester, died in 1967. She was born in Lanesboro, daughter of George and Alice Mathes.

Mrs. Smith was a machine operator for Mark Tool & Die Co. for 17 years, retiring in 1991.

The funeral will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, in Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Hammond St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.

Edmond F. Bouchard, 85

LEOMINSTER -- Edmond F. Bouchard, 85, of 1675 North Main St., Lancaster, formerly of Leominster, died Monday in Health Alliance-Leominster Hospital after an illness.

His wife of 54 years, Margaret E. (Crimley) Bouchard, died in 1995. He leaves four sons, David F. Bouchard of Garden Grove, Calif., and Donald E., Daniel R., and Dennis R. Bouchard, all of Leominster; three daughters, Doris L. Ryan, Doreen F. George, and Katherine A. Brough, all of Leominster; two brothers, Gilbert and Daniel Bouchard, both of Leominster; three sisters, Gabrielle Spring of Ayer, Catherine Lambert of Leominster, and Alice Woods of Florida; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. Born in Claremont, N.H., son of Edward and Marion (Fecteau) Bouchard, he lived 68 years in Leominster before recently moving to Lancaster. He was a member of the Civilian Conservation Camp during World War II.

Mr. Bouchard was a tool and die maker 35 years at Foster Grant Co., retiring 1977. He was a member of the company's 25-year club. He was a member of Holy Family of Nazareth Church, a past governor of the Leominster Lodge of Moose, and active in local politics.

The funeral will be held Thursday from Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Holy Family of Nazareth Church, 800 Union St. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association of Eastern Massachusetts, 1 Kendall Square, Building 200, Cambridge 02139.

Ryan Patrick Matthews

WORCESTER -- Ryan Patrick Matthews, infant son of Kevin J. and Rebecca (Daley) Matthews of 9 Burman Ave., died Thursday, Aug. 3, in UMass Memorial Medical Center -- Memorial Campus.

Besides his parents, he leaves two brothers, Brenden and Kyle Matthews, both at home; his paternal grandfather, Kent Matthews of Jacksonville, Fla.; his maternal grandparents, Kevin and Patricia (St. Hilaire) Daley of Worcester; and his maternal great-grandmother, Lucille Daley of Worcester.

The graveside service was held Tuesday, Aug. 8, in Hope Cemetery. Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., directed arrangements.

Esther Boornazian, 78

Wednesday, January 14, 1998

WOLFEBORO, N.H. -- Esther Boornazian, 78, of Abenaukee Drive, formerly of Worcester, Mass., died Saturday at home.

Her husband, Dr. Z. Charles Boornazian, predeceased her. She leaves two sons, Dr. John S. Boornazian of Wolfeboro, and Dr. Z. Charles Boornazian Jr. of Wausau, Wis.; a sister, Helen Abounader of Worcester; and four grandchildren. She was born in Worcester, and lived in Methuen, Mass., for many years before moving here 10 years ago. She attended Worcester schools.

Mrs. Boornazian was a member of Holy Cross Apostolic Church in Lawrence, Mass., and of All Saints Episcopal Church.

A funeral service was at 11 a.m. yesterday in All Saints Episcopal Church, South Main Street. Burial will be in the spring in Lakeview Cemetery. Calling hours were private. Memorial contributions may be made to Wolfeboro Area Children's Center, South Main Street; or to Hospice, Visiting Nurses Association of Southern Carroll County, both Wolfeboro, N.H., 03894. Lord Funeral Home, Route 28, directed arrangements.

Robert V. Bogosian, 59

Tuesday, January 13, 1998

WORCESTER -- Robert V. Bogosian, 59, of 15 Winfield St., a retired market produce manager, was stricken ill and died Sunday at home.

He leaves his wife of 29 years, Catherine M. (Guertin) Bogosian; a son, James V. Bogosian of Worcester; his mother, Mary (Hoogasian) Bogosian of Worcester; two sisters, Iris Gopoyan of Worcester and Rosemarie Krikorian of Providence; two grandsons; nephews and nieces. Born in Worcester, son of Vahan Bogosian, he graduated from Commerce High School. He was a Vietnam War-era Marine Corps veteran.

Mr. Bogosian worked at several markets, including Ralph's Market, Star Market and BJ's. He retired in 1996.

He was a member of the Armenian Church of Our Saviour, where he was a former organist and Sunday school teacher.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow in the Armenian Church of Our Saviour, 87 Salisbury St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are 6 to 8 tonight at Caswell-King Funeral Home, 474 Grove St. A prayer service will be held there at 7:45 tonight. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Armenian Church of Our Saviour, 87 Salisbury St., Worcester 01609.

Suzanne G. Temple, 88

Monday, May 8, 2000

MARLBORO -- Suzanne G. (Granitsas) Temple, 88, of Church Street, a retired lawyer, died Friday, May 5, in Bolton Manor Nursing Home after an illness.

Her husband, Richard S. Temple, died in 1996. She leaves two sons, Theodore G. Temple of Marlboro and Richard W. Temple of Hopkinton; two grandsons. She was born in New York City, daughter of K. George and Theresa A. (Laurent) Granitsas, and lived most of her life in Marlboro. She graduated from Marlboro High School in 1930, and graduated from the former Portia Law School in Boston in 1935.

Mrs. Temple practiced general law from the Temple Law Office for many years before retiring. She was previously a bookkeeper at the former First National Bank of Marlboro for several years.

She was a member of St. Anargyroi Greek Orthodox Church, and was a member and past president of the Daughters of Penelope. She was a member and past president of the Tuesday Club, and was a former Cub Scout den mother. She was a member of the Dartmouth College Womens Club in Boston, and was a member of the Massachusetts, Middlesex, and American Bar associations.

The funeral will be held Wednesday, May 10, from John P. Rowe Funeral Home Inc., 57 Main St., with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Anagyroi Greek Orthodox Church, corner of Cashman and Central streets. Burial will be in Rocklawn Cemetery. Calling hours are from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, in the funeral home. Donations may be made to Special Care Unit, Marlboro Hospital, 57 Union St., Marlboro, MA 01752, or St. Anagyroi Greek Orthodox Church Building Fund, corner of Cashman and Central Streets, Marlboro, MA 01752.
