LEOMINSTER -- Gertrude E. Collette, 87, of 58 Cedar St., died Friday, Feb. 2, at home.

She leaves many nieces and nephews. A brother, Leo J. Collette, died in 1998, and another brother, Joseph “Pete” Collette, died in 1988. She was born in Leominster, daughter of Pierre and Josephine (Lafave) Collette.

Ms. Collette worked 47 years at E.I. Dupont Co., retiring in 1975. She was a member of the Leominster Senior Citizens, the Golden Agers and St. Cecilia's Church; and was a member, past president and treasurer of the Leominster Eagles Auxiliary 477.

The funeral will be held Wednesday, Feb. 7, from Wright-Roy Funeral Home, 109 West St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Cecilia's Church, 180 Mechanic St. Burial will be in St. Cecilia's Cemetery. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Eagles Scholarship Fund, Fraternal Order of Eagles 477, 456 Litchfield St., Leominster, MA 01453.

WEBSTER -- Roberta M. “Bobbie” (Richardson) Scott-Comeau, 73, of 109 Worcester Road, formerly of Barre, died Wednesday, April 4, in Oakwood Rehabilitation & Nursing Center after a long illness.

Her husband, Elmer U. Comeau, died in 1989. She leaves two daughters, Regina Kontoes of Webster and Lucinda Hart of Rochester; three sons, Milton Scott of Petersham, Leonard Scott of Barre, and David Scott of Sholoe, Ariz.; a brother, Carlton Richardson of West Brookfield; two sisters, Betsey Standbridge of Muskogee, Okla., and Billiette Messier of Kingsville, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; several nephews and nieces. Her first husband, William C. Scott, died in 1998. She was born and raised in West Brookfield, daughter of Milton and Charlotte (Brooks) Richardson, and lived 20 years in Barre. She lived in Muskogee and Rochester, N.Y., before moving to Webster two years ago.

She was a skilled sewer and knitter, and gave lessons. She was an avid bowler, and was a member of United Church of Christ.

Funeral services will be held at a later date. Pillsbury Funeral Home, Old West Brookfield Road, Brookfield, is directing arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to VNA Hospice Care Inc., 120 Thomas St., Worcester, MA 01608.

Kevin P. Needham, 31

WORCESTER -- Kevin P. Needham, 31, of 35 Ashwood St., died Tuesday, Aug. 8, in UMass Memorial Medical Center -- University Campus.

He leaves his wife, Christina L. (Troiano) Needham; his parents, John and Mary (Egan) Needham of Worcester; a brother, Thomas J. Needham of Worcester; a sister, Mary P. Martella of Worcester; a nephew. He was born in Worcester, and graduated from Holy Name High School. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts -- Stockbridge School of Agriculture.

Mr. Needham was a supply service technician for Bell Atlantic.

He enjoyed golf and the outdoors.

The funeral will be Saturday, Aug. 12, from O'Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Ave., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 11, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity.

Janet E. Morse, 90

WOODSTOCK -- Janet E. (Gibney) Morse, 90, of Dugg Hill Road, East Woodstock, a retired social worker, died Monday, Feb. 5, at home.

Her husband, Stewart L. Morse, died in 1983. She leaves a son, Stewart M. Morse of East Woodstock; three grandsons, Seth L. and Jared G. Morse, both of North Woodstock, and Joel A. Morse of Somers, Conn.; and three great-grandsons. A daughter, Laurie J. Morse, and a sister, Ethel Murphy, predeceased her. Born in Elizabeth, N.J., and raised in Brooklyn Heights, Conn., daughter of Albert J. and Loretto (Nevin) Gibney, she moved to Woodstock in 1936. She attended Penn Hall in Chambersburg, Pa., and Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla.

Mrs. Morse was a social worker 15 years with the state Department of Children and Youth Services, retiring in 1974. She was a volunteer at Day Kimball Hospital, Putnam, and then at the local USO during World War II. She was a founding member of the original Red Cross Windham County chapter. She was the North Woodstock air raid warden and assistant post mistress in the 1950s.

The funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, in St. Joseph Church, 12 Main St., Thompson. Burial will be in the spring in Center Cemetery, Woodstock. Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, in Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove St., Putnam. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Muddy Brook Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 222, East Woodstock, CT 06244; or to Hospice of Northeastern Connecticut, PO Box 632, Putnam, CT 06260.

Roland A. Erickson, 87

BARRINGTON, R.I. -- Roland A. Erickson, 87, of Barrington, formerly of Worcester, Mass., and Hubbardston, Mass., a retired company vice president, died Friday, July 20, in The Epoch in Providence.

He leaves his wife, Roxie S. Erickson; a daughter, Lorna E. Wayland of Barrington; a son, Brent A. Erickson of Valley Cottage, N.Y.; four grandchildren. He was born in Worcester, son of Axel and Anna Erickson, and lived in Hubbardston and Naples, Fla. He moved to Barrington six years ago. He graduated from Clark University in Worcester in 1935, and received his master's degree from Tufts University in Medford, Mass., in 1937.

Mr. Erickson was an economist for Norton Co. in Worcester, and was later executive vice president of General Foods Corp. in White Plains, N.Y., retiring in 1970. He continued as an adviser in the industrial and banking sectors until 1980.

He was knighted by the king of Sweden, and was appointed a Knight Commander in 1976 by King Carl Gustaf XVI.

He was a member of the boards of several professional organizations, including Norton Co., State Mutual Life Assurance Co. of America in Worcester, and Van Liew Capital Inc. in Providence.

The funeral and burial were private. Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville, 02828, directed arrangements.

Geraldine M. Kelly, 50; registered nurse

WELLFLEET -- Geraldine M. “Honey” Kelly, 50, of Wellfleet, formerly of Worcester, a registered nurse, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, at home.

She leaves three sisters, Karin M. Cordial of Sterling, Susan A. Holmquist of Worcester and Mary B. Foley of Westboro; nephews and nieces; and a grandniece. She was born in Bayside, N.Y., daughter of Francis S. and Mary G. (Mahoney) Kelly, and was raised in Worcester before moving to Wellfleet in 1990. She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in 1968, and attended Boston City Hospital School of Nursing and Anna Maria and Assumption colleges, both in Worcester.

Miss Kelly was a registered nurse at Worcester area hospitals and doctors' offices. She then worked for the Visiting Nurse Association of Lower and Outer Cape Cod in Eastham, caring for patients from Dennis to Provincetown.

She was a member of the Massachusetts Audubon Society and of various whale preservation groups. She enjoyed art, antiquing, and flea markets.

The funeral will be held Friday, Aug. 11, from Nickerson Funeral Home, 340 Main St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Main Street. Burial will be private. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Honey Kelly Relief Fund for Employees of the VNA of Cape Cod, 434 Route 134, South Dennis, MA 02660.

Margaret G. Foley, 98

BROCKTON -- Margaret G. (Waugh) Foley, 98, formerly of Hudson, died Tuesday, Jan. 30, in Embassy Nursing and Rehabilitation Nursing Home.

Her husband, Patrick C. Foley, died in 1956. She leaves a son, Joseph Foley of New York; three nieces, Loretta Morgan of Brockton, and Marjorie Morgan and Barbara Hastion, both of California; three nephews, David Waugh of California, Michael Morgan of Brockton, and Frederick Palladino of Franklin. She was born in East Boston, daughter of Joseph and Mary (Boggan) Waugh, and lived in Hudson before moving to Brockton 10 years ago.

Mrs. Foley was a housekeeper many years before retiring.

The funeral will be held Friday, Feb. 2, from Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Michael Church, 21 Manning St., Hudson. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery. Calling hours are from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, in the funeral home.

Herbert O. Johnson, 60

WORCESTER -- Herbert O. Johnson, 60, of 2 Lafayette Place, died Monday, Aug. 7, at home after being stricken ill.

He leaves his father, Onnie P. Johnson of Worcester; four brothers, Kenneth Johnson of New Mexico, Robert Johnson of Lexington, Roland Johnson of Avon, Ind., and Larry Johnson of Webster; nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester, son of Ellen V. (Christenson) Johnson, and graduated from North High School. He served in the Navy from 1956 to 1959, and then in the Army from 1961 to 1964, serving mostly in Germany.

Mr. Johnson was a carpenter, and worked several years for Christenson Builders.

The funeral service will be held at the family's convenience. Burial will be at a later date in North Cemetery, Oxford. There are no calling hours. Nordgren, Carrigan, Mangsen Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St., is directing arrangements.

George S. Johnson, 87

Leroy R. Jones, 80

NORTHBORO -- Leroy R. Jones, 80, of 157 East Main St., a retired mold maker, died Saturday, Jan. 20, in Northboro Senior Care Center after a short illness.

He leaves his wife of 57 years, Lois E. (Woodcock) Jones; four sons, Robert F. Jones of Hudson, Richard L., Russell T. and Ronald D. Jones, all of Northboro; a daughter, Cynthia L. Jones of Northboro; eight grandchildren; nephews and nieces. He was born in Northboro, son of Leroy H. and Grace A. (Collins) Jones.

Mr. Jones was a mold maker 28 years at Bay State Abrasives, Westboro, retiring in 1984. He also worked at LaPointe Machine Co., Hudson. He was a member of Trinity Church, and enjoyed gardening and bowling.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, in Leland-Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St. Burial will be in Howard Street Cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 22, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.

Alice T. Russell, 74

GARDNER -- Alice T. (Crew) Russell, 74, of 60 Highland St., a former teacher, died Saturday, Aug. 12, at home after an illness.

Her husband of 45 years, Dr. David M. Russell, died in 1998. She leaves four sons, David J. Russell of Ipswich, John R. Russell of Norwood, Edward F. Russell of Gardner and Kevin T. Russell of Bedford; three daughters, Maura F. Russell of the Mattapan section of Boston, Catherine E. Canney of Templeton and Jean H. Russell of Barrington, R.I.; a brother, Robert Crew of Franklin; a sister, Mary Ann Brouillette of Groton; nine grandchildren; nephews and nieces. A daughter, Ann T. Russell, died in 1998. She was born in Cambridge, daughter of Frederick J. and Mary C. (Curry) Crew, and was raised in Arlington before moving to Gardner 34 years ago. She graduated from Arlington High School; earned a bachelor's degree from Emanuel College, Boston, and a master's degree from Boston University in 1953.

Mrs. Russell taught in Gardner elementary schools from 1950 to 1954. She also taught more than 25 years at the Sacred Heart Confraternity of Christian Doctrine program, where she was program coordinator more than 20 years.

She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church; an active member of the Gardner chapter of the Alliance for the Mentally Ill; and a member of the Board of Directors of the Visiting Nurses Association.

The funeral will be held Wednesday, Aug. 16, from John H. Mack Funeral Home, 91 Vernon St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 166 Cross St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Dr. David M. and Alice T. Russell Scholarship Fund, c/o Colonial Co-Operative Bank, 6 City Hall Ave., Gardner, MA 01440; or may be left at the funeral home.
