BROOKFIELD -- Jacqueline M. (Burns) Thibeault, 43, of 8 Pleasant St., a rural mail carrier and nutritionist, died Sunday, June 3, in UMass Memorial Medical Center -- Memorial Campus, Worcester, after a long battle with cancer.

She leaves her husband of 24 years, Paul J. Thibeault; two sons, Matthew P. and Richard J. Thibeault, both of Brookfield; her mother, Betty L. (Sleeper) Madelle of Spencer; two brothers, George and Richard Burns, both of Worcester; two sisters, Nancy Madelle of Charlton and Tracy Nicholas of Spencer; a step-brother, Robert Burns of Ohio; a step-sister, Becky Burns of Ohio; and nieces and nephews. Her father, Clarence Madelle, died in 1991. She was born in Worcester, and graduated from Fanning Trade High School in Worcester. She moved to Brookfield in 1988. Mrs. Thibeault was a rural mail carrier for the Sturbridge Post Office from 1990 to 1999. She was previously a nutritional consultant at Nature's Country Store in Holden. She was a member of the Hope Lodge Cancer Support Group in Worcester. She was a volunteer and rider for the Pan-Massachusetts Challenge, and was a certified nutritionist.

The funeral will be held Wednesday, June 6, from J. Henri Morin & Son Funeral Home, 23 Maple Terrace, Spencer, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 60 Maple St., Spencer. After cremation, burial of ashes will be in Mary Queen of the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer at a later date. Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, in the funeral home. Please omit flowers. Donations may be made to the Pan-Mass. Challenge, c/o Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Gift Processing Department, 1309 Beacon St., Brookline, MA 02446 or the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingahm, 01701.

Thomas Wentworth, 67

DUDLEY -- Thomas O. Wentworth, 67, of Nelco Avenue, a World War II veteran and retired spinner, died Tuesday, June 5, in Harrington Memorial Hospital, Southbridge, after a long illness.

He leaves his longtime companion, Lorraine Rollins, with whom he lived; three sons, Michael T. and Joseph A. Wentworth, both of Worcester, and Christopher L. Wentworth of Holden; a daughter, Cheryl A. Orne of Brookfield; four brothers, Lester Wentworth of East Thompson, Harold Wentworth of the Rochdale section of Leicester, Raymond Wentworth of North Oxford and Charles St. Germain of Charlton; two sisters, Irene Vancelette of Amherst, N.H., and Jean Dexter of Oxford; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces; and his former wife, Bertha L. (Simpson) Wentworth Alexander of Worcester. He was born in Oxford, son of Alfonso Wentworth and Myrtle (Bennett) Wentworth St. Germain, and lived in Douglas, the Manchaug section of Sutton, New Hampshire, and Millbury before moving to Dudley 23 years ago. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Mr. Wentworth was a spinner at Haywood Schuster Mill, Douglas, before retiring. He enjoyed fishing.

No funeral service is planned. Burial will be at a later date. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Massachusetts Audubon Society, 5 Great Road, Lincoln, MA 01773-1002. Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, is directing arrangements.

Yarosh services

WESTBORO -- The graveside service for Evelyn A. (LeCleire) Yarosh, 56, of 10 Fay St., will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 11, in Hope Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours are 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 7, in Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn. Mrs. Yarosh died Sunday, June 3, in UMass Memorial Medical Center -- University Campus, Worcester, after a brief illness.

She leaves her husband of 36 years, Clifford C. Yarosh; a son, John Yarosh of Worcester; and two granddaughters, Morgan and Chelsea Yarosh, both of Worcester. A granddaughter died in 1996. She was born in St. Louis, daughter of Donald and Kathryn (Palmer) LeCleire, and lived many years in Hoosick Falls, N.Y. She moved to Westboro in 1978. She graduated from Hoosick Falls High School.

NEW RIVER, N.C. -- Erin K. (Sullivan) Alli, 21, of New River, formerly of Leominster, Mass., died Thursday, May 31, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident in New River. Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West St., Leominster, is directing funeral arrangements, which are incomplete.

M.B. Gertrude Anthony

BRADENTON, Fla. -- M.B. Gertrude Anthony, 85, of Bradenton, died Wednesday, May 30, at her home.

She leaves her husband, John Anthony; a son, Henry L. Anthony of Shrewsbury, Mass.; and two grandchildren. She served in the Navy during World War II.

Mrs. Anthony was a secretary and technician at the pharmacy of St. Luke's Hospital in Cleveland before retiring. She was a member of the American Legion, and enjoyed square dancing and painting. She belonged to Saints Peter & Paul and the Apostles Church.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 2, in Saints Peter & Paul and the Apostles Church, 2850 75th St., West Bradenton. Burial will be in Manasota Memorial Park, Bradenton. Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 1, in Griffith-Cline Funeral Home, 3904 Cortez Road, West Bradenton.

Sister Gertrude Ayotte

PUTNAM -- Sister Gertrude Ayotte, 92, of the Daughters of the Holy Spirit in Putnam, died Thursday, May 31, in Holy Spirit Health Care Center, where she lived since 1985.She leaves a sister, Sister Lucille Ayotte of Putnam; nephews and nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces. She was born in Waterbury, Conn., daughter of Anthony and Celina (Bernier) Ayotte. She entered religious life in 1930 and made her religious profession at the Motherhouse in St. Brieuc, France, in 1933. She was then known as Sister Marie Emma.

She first taught at St. Padarn, Aberystwyth, Wales. In 1935, she was assigned to St. Anne Church in Waterbury. She also taught in Vermont, New York and Massachusetts, including at St. Thomas Church in West Warren. In 1973, she started to do district nursing in Providence and she was a nurse's aide at St. Joseph Villa in Putnam until retiring.

A funeral Mass will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday, June 4, in Holy Spirit Provincial House Chapel, 72 Church St. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, June 3, in the Provincial House Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Daughters of the Holy Spirit Retirement Fund, 72 Church St., Putnam, CT 06260. Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St., is directing arrangements.

Stephen Beaton Jr., retired school superintendent

EAST FALMOUTH -- Stephen Beaton Jr., 96, formerly of East Falmouth and Millbury, died Friday, June 1, in the home of his granddaughter in Harwich after a long illness.

His wife, Evelyn H. (Pierce) Beaton, died in 1996. He leaves a son, Stephen Beaton III of Westboro; a daughter, Jacquelyn Cummins of Worcester; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. He was born in Maynard, son of Stephen Beaton Sr. and Lilla E. (Taylor) Beaton, and lived in Millbury most of his life before moving to Cape Cod in 1968. He graduated from Millbury High School in 1923 and then graduated from Clark University in 1927. He was a three-sport athlete at Millbury High School and a 10-letter athlete in college.

He did graduate work at Harvard University in Boston and then received his masters degree at Clark University in Worcester, in 1946.Mr. Beaton taught languages and coached sports at Millbury High School for 10 years, and in 1937 was named principal of the Millbury Union Elementary School and the junior high school. He held both positions until 1943, when he was appointed principal of the Millbury High School. He was appointed superintendent of Millbury Schools on June 20, 1960 and held that position until his retirement in 1968.

He was a former member of the Millbury Federated Church and was a member and past Master of the Olive Branch Lodge of Masons in Millbury. He was a past president and a member of the Worcester County Teachers Association.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, in Millbury Federated Church, 20 Main St., Millbury. Burial will be in private in West Millbury Cemetery, Millbury. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 4, in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Millbury Athletic Department, 12 Martin St., Millbury, MA 01527 or to the Hospice of Cape Cod, 923 Rte 6A, Yarmouthport, MA 02675.

Helen M. Beauvais, 74

AUBURN -- Helen M. (Pedersen) Beauvais, 74, of 17 Washington St., formerly of Worcester and Spencer, died Thursday, May 31, in UMass Memorial Medical Center -- Memorial Campus, after an illness.

Her husband, Eugene A. Beauvais, died in 1985. She leaves a son, Allan C. Beauvais of Auburn; two daughters, Susan Marlborough of Auburn and Joan M. Beauvais of Homosassa, Fla.; two brothers, Paul Pedersen of Shrewsbury and Richard Pedersen of Royalston; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nephews and nieces. Born in West Brookfield, daughter of Christian and Alma (Johnson) Pedersen, she lived in Worcester, Spencer, and Auburn.

Mrs. Beauvais worked at Briscon Electric of Auburn, retiring in 1989.She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, Worcester.

After cremation, a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, in Emanuel Lutheran Church, 200 Greenwood St., Worcester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A calling hour will be from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, in Lindquist-Lunden Funeral Home, 36 Butler St., Worcester. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Emanuel Lutheran Church, 200 Greenwood St., Worcester, MA 01607.

Mary F. Berg, 76, Women's Army Corps veteran

AUBURN -- Mary F. (Burnham) Berg, 76, a resident of the Lodge at Eddy Pond, formerly of 47 Washington St., a World War II veteran, died Thursday, May 31, in the Hospice Residence, Worcester.

Her husband, Olaf E. Berg, died in 1999. She leaves three daughters, Priscilla A. George and Charlotte M. Brule, both of Auburn, and Norma Jean Hendrickson of Bedford, N.H.; a brother, Walter Burnham of Northfield, Vt.; five grandchildren; nephews and nieces. A brother, Morris Burnham of Winooski, Vt., predeceased her. She was born in Colchester, Vt., daughter of William E. and Daisy (Pigeon) Burnham, and lived most of her life in Worcester before moving to Auburn.

She was a veteran of World War II, serving with the Women's Army Corps as a medical aidmen.

Mrs. Berg worked 10 years at Joseph Levitt Corp., Worcester, retiring in 1987. She was a member of St. Catherine of Sweden Church, Worcester. A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 4, in St. Catherine of Sweden Church, 1 Wiser Ave., Worcester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, June 3, in Lindquist-Lundin Funeral Home, 36 Butler St., Worcester. Please omit flowers. Bruce M. Bourne, 58

FITCHBURG -- Bruce M. “Mike” Bourne, 58, of 15 Foch Ave., a construction industry worker and a veteran of the Vietnam War, died Thursday, May 31, at his home, after an illness.

He leaves a son, Jimmy Bourne of Plymouth; a daughter, Elizabeth O'Hare of Maynard; five brothers, Kenneth C. Bourne of Fitchburg, with whom he lived, Richard Bourne of Oakes, N.D., Wayne L. Bourne in Minnesota, Russell D. Bourne in Florida and David R. Bourne in California; and three sisters, Patricia Martin of Avondale, Ariz., Roberta Doyle of New Orleans and Margaret E. Bourne in Tennessee. A brother, Frank O. Bourne, and two sisters, Winifred J. Bourne and Barbara L. Wiley, predeceased him. He was born and raised in Ayer, son of Osgood W. “Dick” and Winifred (Daley) Bourne, and lived in Houston, New Orleans and Tennessee before moving to Fitchburg three years ago. He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War.

Mr. Bourne worked in the construction industry. He spent part of his career working on oil rigs in the Houston area, and most recently was a superviser for the construction of Wal-Mart stores. He formerly attended St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Ayer, and was a member of South End Social Club.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 4, in T.J. Anderson & Son Funeral Home, 46 Washington St., Ayer. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ayer. Calling hours are 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 3, in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.

Lucille Bradshaw, 66

WORCESTER -- Lucille (Carter) Bradshaw, 66, of 388 Hamilton St., a city worker and a longtime volunteer, was stricken ill and died Monday, May 28, at her home.

She leaves four brothers, Fitzgerald Carter of Montreal, Shirley Carter of London, England, Henderson Carter of Paterson, N.J., and Reuben Carter of Barbados; four sisters, Beryl Sealey of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Pearline Jones, Velda Bourne and Julia Goddard, all of Montreal; nieces and nephews. She was born in Barbados, daughter of Adolphus Blackman and Millicent Carter, and lived here since 1967.

Mrs. Bradshaw worked for more than 30 years in the Treasurer's Office of the City of Worcester. She volunteered at the former St. Vincent Hospital, and also volunteered at St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center. Last year, she was recognized for more than 2,500 hours of volunteer service. She was also recognized by the City of Worcester for more than 30 years of service.

She was a member and treasurer of Covenant United Methodist Church, a member of its senior choir and Board of Trustees' Finance Committee, and director of its Share Program.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 2, in Covenant United Methodist Church, 24 Hamilton St. Cremation will be in Rural Crematory. A calling hour is 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, June 2, in the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Covenant United Methodist Church, 24 Hamilton St., Worcester, MA 01604. Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation St., is directing arrangements.

Jose Braga, 87

HUDSON -- Jose Braga, 87, of Hudson, died Thursday, May 31, in Marlboro Hospital.

He leaves his wife of 54 years, Filomena (Chaves) Braga; four sons, Jose E., Manuel D., Victor M. and Antonio E. Braga, all of Hudson; a daughter, Elvira M. Pavao of Berlin; and 16 grandchildren. He was born in Santa Maria, the Azores, son of Joaquim and Maria (Braga) Bettencourt.

He was a machine operator at the New England Tape Co. before retiring.

The funeral will be held Saturday, June 2, from Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., with a Mass at 9 a.m. in St. Michael Church, 21 Manning St. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 1, at the funeral home.
