Roger P. Gauthier, 89, was a retired foundry worker

HARDWICK -- Roger P. Gauthier, 89, of 54 Hardwick Road, Gilbertville, a former foundry worker, died Wednesday, May 30, at his home, after an illness.

His wife of 64 years, Solange (Seynave) Gauthier, died in 1997. He leaves two sons, Paul Gauthier of Gilbertville and Richard Gauthier of Ware; two daughters, Rita Zajda of Ware and Shirley Lowell of Gilbertville; a brother, Armand Gauthier of Dallas; two sisters, Doris Bouley of Worcester and Claire Nelson of Gilbertville; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. A son, Robert Gauthier, died in 1944. He was born in Gilbertville, son of Emery and Olivinia (Rouisse) Gauthier.

Mr. Gauthier worked nine years at Hersey Products, Gilbertville, retiring as a foundry worker in 1976. He previously worked at the Wirthmore Store, Ware. He was a member of St. Aloysius Church.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a. m. Monday, June 4, in St. Aloysius Church, Church Street, Gilbertville. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. There are no calling hours. Charbonneau Funeral Home, 30 Pleasant St., Ware, is directing arrangements.

David F. Gordon, 68

SOUTH YARMOUTH -- David F. Gordon, 68, of South Yarmouth, formerly of Sturbridge, a systems analyst, died Wednesday, May 30, in Mayflower Place Nursing Center, after a brief illness.

He leaves his wife, Carol A. (Anderson) Gordon; a son, Douglas A. Gordon of Nashua, N. H. ; two daughters, Davida E. Peninger of Harwich and Roxanne E. Sanchez of Pembroke; a sister, H. Margaret Wickstrom of Upton; and six grandchildren. He was born and raised in Worcester, son of Bennett and Elizabeth (McCarthy) Gordon, and graduated from Clark University, Worcester, in 1967. He moved to Sturbridge in 1968, and in 1995 moved to South Yarmouth, where he had previously summered. He served in the Army as a radio operator in Texas.

Mr. Gordon was a systems analyst, and operated his own company in Sturbridge. He was chairman of the Sturbridge Republican Town Committee for 18 years, and was a member of the Lower Cape Ladies Republican Committee and the Yarmouth Republican Town Committee.

The funeral will be at 2 p. m. Saturday, June 2, in Brewster Baptist Church, 1832 Main St., Brewster. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery, South Dennis. Calling hours are 6 to 9 p. m. Friday, June 1, in Doane, Beale & Ames Funeral Home, 729 Route 134, South Dennis. Memorial contributions may be made to the Yarmouth Rescue Rescue Squad, 96 Old Main St., South Yarmouth, MA 02664.

MILLBURY -- John T. Graves, 77, of 5 Henry St., a World War II veteran, died Wednesday, May 30, in UMass Memorial Medical Center -- University Campus, Worcester.

He leaves his wife of 52 years, Julia M. (Katinas) Graves; two sons, Jack Graves of Charlton and Robert A. Graves of Sutton; six daughters, Christine Hannah of Napa, Calif., Gail Lawson of Oxford, Cynthia Graves and Mary Ekstrom, both of Millbury, and Nancy Sluss and Julie Belliveau, both of Williamsburg, Va. ; three brothers, William and Albert Graves, both of Millbury, and James Graves of Sutton; four sisters, Eileen Eramo and Patricia Thomas, both of Millbury, Margaret Dahlstrom of Grafton and Sister Doris Graves of Holyoke; 26 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. A brother, Maurice Graves, and a sister, Janet Luff, predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of William H. and Irene (Callahan) Graves, and attended Millbury schools. He played football and baseball at Millbury High School, and was inducted into the school's athletic hall of fame in 1996. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in Europe.

Mr. Graves worked seven years at Nensco Inc., retiring in 1988. Previously, he worked 26 years at New England High Carbon Wire Co.

The funeral will be held Saturday, June 2, from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., with a Mass at 10 a. m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1290 Grafton St., Worcester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are 6 to 9 p. m. Friday, June 1, in the funeral home.

FITCHBURG -- Cecile B. (Navin) Ippolito, 92, of 299 Oak Hill Road, died Wednesday, July 25, in HealthAlliance Leominster Hospital after an illness.

Her husband, Frank J. Ippolito, died in 1997. She leaves two sons, the Rev. Robert Ippolito of Hawaii and Richard Ippolito of Washington, D. C. ; a sister, Doris LaRoche of Leominster; two grandsons; nephews and nieces. She was born in Fitchburg, daughter of James and Louise (Ouellette) Navin.

Mrs. Ippolito worked for Asher Pant Co. before retiring. She was a member and eucharistic minister of St. Joseph Church.

The funeral will be held Wednesday, Aug. 1, from Aubuchon-Moorcroft Funeral Home, 132 Woodland St., with a Mass at 10:30 a. m. in St. Joseph Church, 46 Woodland St. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Calling hours are 7 to 9 p. m. Tuesday, July 31, in the funeral home.

LEOMINSTER -- Eufrasia (Seda) Irizarry, 77, of 21 Graham St., died Friday, June 1, in HealthAlliance Leominster Hospital.

Her husband, Eladio Irizarry, died in 1986. She leaves three sons, Eladio Irizarry Jr. of Worcester, Dennis Irizarry of Indiana, and Robert Irizarry of the Bronx, N. Y. ; three daughters, Nancy Drozd of Sterling, Sally Gagne of Leominster, and Annette Irizarry of New Hampshire; a brother, Israel Seda of Cobo Rojo, Puerto Rico; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. A grandson died in 1997. She was born in Puerto Rico, daughter of Jose L. and Obdulia (Pagan) Seda.

Mrs. Irizarry was a machine operator at Sportsman's Plastics.

She was a member of the Fitchburg Church of the Nazarene. The funeral will be held at noon Tuesday, June 5, in Wright-Roy Funeral Home, 109 West St. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p. m. Monday, June 4, in the funeral home.

HAMPTON FALLS, N. H. -- David Rowe Jefferson Sr., 69, of 4 Oak Drive, former headmaster of Worcester Academy, died Thursday, May 31, in Exeter Hospital after a period of failing health.

He leaves his wife of 44 years, Anne Sawyer (Morgan) Jefferson; two sons, David Rowe Jefferson Jr. of South Berwick, Maine, and Peter H. Jefferson of Virginia Beach, Va. ; a brother, William H. Jefferson of Canastota, N. Y. ; and four grandchildren. Born in Hillsdale, Mich., son of Howard Bonar and Genevieve (Rowe) Jefferson, and raised in Hamilton, N. Y., and Worcester, Mass., he graduated from Deerfield Academy in 1949. He graduated from Harvard University in 1953 and was an active member of its Iroquois and Hasty Pudding clubs. He received his master's of divinity from Yale University of 1956.

Mr. Jefferson's early career included serving as chaplain of the colleges of Queens and Nassau counties in New York, dean of admissions at C. W. Post (N. Y. ), Dickinson (Pa. ), and Bradford (Mass. ) colleges, and headmaster of Worcester Academy, Worcester. He then worked in the financial services field as a chartered financial planner and a certified life underwriter. Most recently, he was employed as senior development officer for the Joslin Diabetes Center and McLean Hospital, Belmont, Mass., and was responsible for raising millions of dollars for medical research. During his retirement, he was the director of development for Seacoast HealthNet, and served on its board of directors.

A 32nd Degree Mason, he was a member and past master of St. James Lodge #102 of Hampton, and a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies Valley of Portsmouth and Dover, the New Hampshire Consistory Valley of Nashua, and the Bektash Temple Shrine of Concord. He was also a member of the Harvard Faculty Club, the Harvard Club of Boston, and St. John's Episcopal Church, Portsmouth.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a. m. Tuesday, June 5 in St. John's Episcopal Church, Portsmouth. There are no calling hours. Please omit flowers. Memorial donations may be made to Seacoast Hospice, 10 Hampton Road, Exeter, NH 03833. Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, Hampton, is directing arrangements.

WORCESTER -- Katherine (Plummer) Jeffery, 94, of 10 Homestead Ave., formerly of Brockton and North Easton, a longtime librarian, died May 6 in UMass Memorial Health Care after an illness.

Her husband, Clifton A. Jeffery, predeceased her. She leaves a son, Edwin Jeffery of Natick; a daughter, Ruth Hennesey of Annapolis, Md. ; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. She was born in Hyde Park, daughter of Reginald S. and Phyllis (May) Plummer, and graduated from Case Western Reserve Library School, and lived many years in Brockton and North Easton and Worcester. Mrs. Jeffery was a librarian at St. Paul's Church in Brockton for many years, retiring in 1986. She was a member of the American Librarians Association, and was an avid reader, painter, photographer, and traveler.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p. m. Saturday, June 9, in St. Matthew's Church, 695 Southbridge St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Matthew's Church, 695 Southbridge St., Worcester, MA 01610. Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn, is directing arrangements.

He was born in Phillips, Tenn., son of George and Isabella (Robertson) Kinney.

Mr. Kinney was a self-employed contractor in the Central Massachusetts area.

AUBURN -- Joseph A. Kristo, 85, of 12 Pinehurst Ave., a veteran of World War II and retired police dispatcher, died in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center, Friday, June 1, after being stricken ill at home.

He leaves his wife of 51 years, Alice (Mazeika) Kristo; a daughter, Dr. Janice V. Kristo of Orono, Maine; three brothers, Paul Kristo of Worcester, John Kristo of Charlton, and Anthony Krist of Seattle; three sisters, Victoria Daniel of Worcester, Dorothy Kamosky of Cherry Valley and Helen Faucher of Paxton; and several nephews and nieces. A brother, Benjamin Kristo of Auburn, died two months ago. Born in Worcester, son of Adam and Victoria (Baubliute) Kristopovich, he graduated from Commerce High School, Worcester, and attended Bentley School of Accounting, Boston. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, serving in Asia and the Pacific.

Mr. Kristo worked 31 years as a dispatcher for the Massachusetts State Police, Holden barracks, before retiring. He was a member of St. Joseph's Parish, Auburn, the Lithuanian Charitable Society, Shrewsbury, and the Association of Retired State, County and Municipal Employees of Massachusetts. The funeral will be held on Monday, June 4, from the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., with a Mass at 10 a. m. in St. Joseph's Church, 189 Oxford St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p. m. Sunday, June 3, in the funeral home. Flowers may be sent or memorial donations may be made to the St. Joseph's Church Building Fund, 194 Oxford St. North, or the Auburn District Nursing Association, 191 Pakachoag St., both Auburn, MA 01501.
