WINCHENDON -- Therese A. (Vaine) Bourgeois, 71, of 313 Benjamin St., a retired secretary, died Sunday, July 22, at home after an illness.

She leaves her husband of 46 years, J. Phillip Bourgeois of Winchendon; a son, Brian V. Bourgeois of Winchendon; three daughters, Faye C. Wheeler of Winchendon, Phyllis A. Johnson of Gardner, and Gaynor M. Bourgeois of Washington, D. C. ; a sister, Jeannette M. Breagy of Onset; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was born in Winchendon, daughter of Arthur W. and Annabelle M. L. (Levine) Vaine, and graduated from Murdock High School in 1948.

Mrs. Bourgeois was a secretary to the vocational director of Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School, retiring in 1995.

She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church in Baldwinville, and enjoyed golf and traveling.

A funeral will be held Wednesday, July 25, from Snow-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central St., with a Mass at 10 a. m. in St. Vincent de Paul Church, 1 Forest St., Baldwinville. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours are from 7 to 9 p. m. Tuesday, July 24, in the funeral home. Donations may be made to the Gardner Visiting Nursing Association Hospice Program, 34 Pearly Lane, Gardner, MA 01440.

QUINCY -- P. Kevin Brodeur, 52, of 169 Everett St., a Vietnam War veteran, died Monday, July 23, in Boston Medical Center after a long illness.

He leaves his wife, Karen (Green) Brodeur; a son, Stephen J. Brodeur of Keene, N. H. ; a daughter, Michelle T. Brodeur of Phoenix; his mother, Constance C. (Guerin) Brodeur of Auburn; three brothers, Lawrence A. Brodeur of Auburn, Mark E. Brodeur of Shrewsbury, and Thomas G. Brodeur of Mansfield; three sisters, Margaret T. Guardiani of Providence, Constance M. Brodeur-Sassi of Stamford, Conn., and Christine D. Mooshian of Worcester; several nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester, son of Paul E. Brodeur, and lived in Auburn and later Keene before moving to Quincy. He graduated from Auburn High School, and attended Fitchburg State College and the University of Massachusetts in Lowell. He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War.

Mr. Brodeur was a chemical treatment specialist 16 years at Raytheon Corp. in Waltham before he became ill. He previously worked for Kingsbury Machine Tool Corp. in Keene. He was a member of St. Anne's Parish, and was an avid golfer.

The funeral will be held at 9 a. m. Friday, July 27, from Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn, with a Mass at 10 a. m. in North American Martyrs Church, 8 Wyoma Drive, Auburn. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Auburn. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p. m. Thursday, July 26, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Development Office, BMC, 1 Boston Medical Center, Boston, MA 02118 or the Jewish Memorial Hospital and Rehabilitation Center, 59 Townsend St., Boston, MA 02119.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Thomas C. Caisse, 41, of 6700 First Ave., South, formerly of Ashburnham, Mass., an environmental technician, died Monday, July 23, at home.

He leaves a daughter, Christina M. Caisse of San Antonio, Texas; his parents, Theodore A. and Charlotte A. (Farrell) Caisse of Ashburnham; three brothers, Theodore A. Caisse Jr. of Aiea, Hawaii, Todd A. Caisse of North Attleboro, Mass., and Timothy P. Caisse of Winchendon, Mass. ; four sisters, Gail A. Conklin of the Bronx, N. Y., Deborah A. Brennan of Ashburnham, Diane M. Plummer of Seaford, Del., and Denise L. Sawyer of Westminster, Mass. ; a nephew and nieces. A brother, Terrance W. Caisse of Ashburnham, died in 1990. He was born in Munich, Germany, and lived in Ashburnham before moving to St. Petersburg three years ago. He graduated from Oakmont Regional High School, Ashburnham, in 1978. He served in the Air Force.

Mr. Caisse was an environmental technician for IT Corp., Tampa. He was a charter member of Thomas P. Sweeney Post 142 American Legion, Ashburnham, and enjoyed sports, including fishing, bowling and softball.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a. m. Tuesday, July 31, in Lamoureux-Fletcher Community Funeral Home, 105 Central St., Gardner, Mass. Burial will be at the family's convenience in Florida. Calling hours are 7 to 9 p. m. Monday, July 30, in the funeral home. Donations may be made to American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.

WORCESTER -- Anna M. (Borbone) Capone, 87, of 50 Shrewsbury St., formerly of 47 Dartmouth St., died Wednesday, Aug. 1, in UMass Memorial Medical Center -- Memorial Campus after a short illness.

Her husband, Domenic J. Capone, died in 1992. She leaves two daughters, Virginia G. Bucciaglia of Naugatuck, Conn., and Veronica M. Rochefort of Millbury; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. A son, William Capone, a brother, Joseph Borbone, and two sisters, Sally Baroni and Amelia “Millie” Gordon, predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Clemente and Lucy (Dagnese) Borbone, and attended Worcester public schools.

Mrs. Capone was a life member of St. Stephen's Church and contributed to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation and St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

The funeral will be held at 9:15 a. m. Saturday, Aug. 4, from Arthur S. Manzi & Son Funeral Home & Garden Chapel, 179 Shrewsbury St., with a Mass at 10 a. m. in St. Mary's Church, 640 Main St., Shrewsbury. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 9 p. m. Friday, Aug. 3, in the funeral home.

WORCESTER -- Ruth A. (McCarthy) Chanis, 78, of 4 Stowell Ave., a longtime City Hall employee, died Sunday, July 22, in Holy Trinity Eastern Orthodox Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after an illness.

Her husband of 50 years, William P. Chanis Sr., died in 2000. She leaves two sons, William P. Chanis II of Cherry Valley, and James M. Chanis of Worcester; three brothers, Edward, Thomas, and Robert McCarthy, all of Worcester; two sisters, Marion Mastronardi of Revere and Margaret Xenos of Worcester; seven grandchildren; several nephews and nieces. A brother, Richard McCarthy of Goleta, Calif., died in 1998. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Michael J. and Mary (Morrissey) McCarthy, and graduated from St. Peter's High School.

Mrs. Chanis was a principal clerk at Worcester City Hall Registrar of Voters for 22 years, retiring in 1991. She previously worked at Telechron Corp. and Handi Pad Co.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and the Retirees of Worcester Municipal Workers Association.

A funeral will be held Wednesday, July 25, from Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 9 Hammond St., with a Mass at 10 a. m. in Immaculate Conception Church, 353 Grove St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p. m. Tuesday, July 24, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Trinity Eastern Orthodox Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 300 Barber Ave., Worcester, MA 01606.

Stanley F. Chittick, 97
FITCHBURG -- Stanley F. Chittick, 97, of Ross Street, a retired financial analyst, died Tuesday, July 31, at home after a short illness.

He leaves his wife of 62 years, Barbara (Bennett) Chittick; three sons, S. Woodworth Chittick of Cohasset, Dr. John B. Chittick of Boston and Fitchburg and William F. Chittick of Bristol, R. I. ; a daughter, Jane R. Chittick of Tucson, Ariz. ; two sisters, Lucy Marden of Greene, Maine, and Ruth Powell of Greensboro, N. C. ; four grandchildren; nephews and nieces. He was born in Hyde Park, son of Beverly and Daisy Chittick, and lived many years in Fitchburg. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1924 and from Tuck Business School in 1925.

Mr. Chittick was a financial analyst at Simonds Saw and Steel Co., retiring as vice president of finance in 1968.

He was a member of Christ Church and assisted the Episcopal Diocese of Western Massachusetts with its financial planning. He was elected to the Financial Executives Institute of America and was a trustee of Worcester North Savings Institution and executive director of the Douglas and Isabella Crocker Foundation.

Mr. Chittick was active in community organizations, including the annual Community Chest, the YMCA, Fitchburg Art Museum, Fitchburg Boy Scout Council, Nashua Valley Council, Red Cross, Parent Teacher Association, United Fund, Cedar Street Home for the Elderly, and Teen AIDS PeerCorps. He was a member of Fay Club, Oak Hill Country Club and the Shriners. He was a sportsman, enjoying golfing and skiing. He also enjoyed traveling and visited more than 100 countries on six continents in 30 years. He and his wife went on a tour of China when that country opened to foreigners in 1979.

The memorial service will be held at 10 a. m. Saturday, Aug. 4, in Christ Church, 569 Main St. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery. Calling hours are 4 to 8 p. m. Friday, Aug. 3, in Brandon-Simard Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Road. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity.

WORCESTER -- Pearl M. (Stefanik) Chivallatti, 81, of 39 Maryann Drive, a retired business co-owner, secretary and treasurer, died Thursday, Aug. 2, in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center after an illness.

Her husband of 48 years, Anthony J. Chivallatti Jr., died in 1989. She leaves two sons, A. Gary and Steven J. Chivallatti, both of Worcester; a daughter, Sandra L. Horan of Nicholasville, Ky. ; a sister, Dorothy Stefanik of Rockport; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was born in Webster, daughter of Steven and Claire (Evans) Stefanik, and moved to Worcester in 1941. She graduated from Webster High School.

With her husband and family, Mrs. Chivallatti co-owned and worked 60 years for Worcester Mason Construction Co., retiring in 1999 as secretary-treasurer. She was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a. m. Monday, Aug. 6, in Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Calling hours are 3 to 6 p. m. Sunday, Aug. 5, in the funeral home.

ASHBURNHAM -- Frances R. (Atherton) Dignard, 58, of 11 Mill St., a retired human resources worker, died Tuesday, July 24, at home after an illness.

She leaves her husband, Alan M. Dignard; two stepsons, Jason and Robert Dignard, both of Ashburnham; and a brother, Arian A. Atherton of Gardner. She was born in Fitchburg, daughter of Richard A. and Delia (Gammell) Atherton, and graduated from Oakmont Regional High School in 1961.

Mrs. Dignard worked in the human resources department at Simplex Time Recorder Co., retiring six months ago because of illness. She enjoyed the ocean and boating.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a. m. Friday, July 27, in the Ashburnham Funeral Chapel of John A. Bosk Inc., 33R Main St. Burial will be in New Cemetery. Calling hours are 7 to 9 p. m. Thursday, July 26, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.

EXETER, N. H. -- Miriam L. (Thoreen) Dupont, 78, of Portsmouth Avenue, formerly of Worcester, Mass., a former bookkeeper, died Saturday, July 21, at home.

Her husband, Oliver Dupont, predeceased her. She leaves a son, Philip Dupont of Manchester, N. H. ; two sisters, Anne Desaulniers of Somers, Conn., and Sally Goyette of Worcester; three grandchildren; nephews and nieces. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Eric and Loretta (Hines) Thoreen, and lived there many years before moving to Exeter in 1976.

Mrs. Dupont was a bookkeeper more than 20 years at Bliss Belting and Packing Co., Worcester. She later worked on the books for Indian Head Bank and Exeter Hospital. She was a member of St. Michael's Church and a member and former treasurer of Exeter Woman's Club. She volunteered for Exeter Hospital.

The funeral Mass will be at 10 a. m. Friday, July 27, in St. Michael's Church. The graveside service will be held at 11 a. m. Saturday, July 28, in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton, Mass. Calling hours are 2 to 4 p. m. Thursday, July 26, in Brewitt Funeral Home, 14 Pine St. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, Gail Singer Memorial Building, 360 Route 101, Suite 501, Bedford, NH 03110; or to American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.

William P. Endicott, 61
WESTBORO -- William P. Endicott, 61, of Westboro, founder of a welfare-to-work program, died Friday, Aug. 3, at UMass Memorial Medical Center -- Memorial Campus, after a short illness

He leaves his wife, Phyllis (Delp) Endicott; a daughter, Carrie L. Endicott of Danvers; a brother, John Endicott of Vermont; a sister, Carol Roberts of Wenham; a stepmother, Nancy Endicott of Danvers; nephews and nieces.

He was born in Beverly, son of William and Rebecca (Caldwell) Endicott. He graduated from Hamilton High School and Saunders Electronic School, Boston. He also received an associate degree from Central New England College, Worcester. He served in the Coast Guard.

Mr. Endicott worked at Mass. Electric, a national grid company, for 30 years. He held a variety of positions, including relay and engineering, training, and most recently, after retirement, was a consultant founding and directing the National Grid Welfare to Work Program. He spoke at the White House on welfare reform that would allow affordable child care and living wage. He served on the Worcester Community Action Council, the Women's Economic Training Access Coalition at Brandeis University and the ABCD program, Boston. He also worked with the Wellspring House, the Workplace Education Collaborative, the Lutheran Social Services, Work Pathways, Assabet Valley School and Career Partnerships.

The funeral will be held at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, from Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot St., Beverly, followed by a Mass at 9 a.m. at the Church of St. Paul, Hamilton. Calling hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 6, in the funeral home. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Danvers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Worcester Action Council Inc., 484 Main St., Worcester, MA 01608.
