WATERTOWN -- The funeral service for Rosemary "Candy" Atamian, 46, of Watertown, who died Tuesday, Oct. 23, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, in Armenian Church of Our Saviour, 87 Salisbury St., Worcester. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, in Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester.

Helen R. Barnes, 88
Tuesday, October 30, 2001

NORTHBRIDGE -- Helen R. (Long) Barnes, 88, of 79 Linwood Ave., in the Whitinsville section, a former registered nurse, died Sunday, Oct. 28, in the Saint Camillus Health Center.

Her husband, Herbert A. Barnes, died in 1974. She is survived by a son, Robert E. Barnes of Whitinsville; and several cousins, including Oliver and Helene Maxwell of Randolph, Vt. She was born in St. Albans, Vt., daughter of Harold and Anbie (Smith) Long, and moved to Whitinsville in 1938. She graduated from St. Albans High School in 1938, and from the New England Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing in 1934.

Mrs. Barnes was a registered nurse at the former Whitinsville Hospital, retiring in 1977. She previously worked at Children's Hospital, Boston, and the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Boston. She was a member of the Village Congregational Church, and St. Paul's Methodist Church, St. Albans. She also belonged to the Whitinsville Women's Club, and the Order of the Eastern Star in St. Albans, where she enjoyed summering.

Funeral services are private. Burial will be in Riverbank Cemetery, Stowe, Vt. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VNA of Milford-Northbridge, 1 Emerson Place, Mendon, MA 01756. Carr Funeral Home, 24 Hill St., Whitinsville, is directing arrangements.

Anne M. Bashaw, 65
Thursday, October 25, 2001

LANCASTER -- Anne M. (Janosco) Bashaw, 65, of 3 Bigelow Gardens, formerly of 59 Goss Lane, a retired hospital clerk, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, in UMass Memorial Medical Center -- University Campus, Worcester, after an illness.

She leaves her son, Robert M. Bashaw of Clinton; a brother, Michael J. Janosco Jr. of Sterling; a sister, Barbara R. Sullivan of Lancaster; nieces and nephews. She was born in Clinton, daughter of Michael J. and Lillian E. (Burgwinkle) Janosco, and graduated from Clinton High School in 1953. She lived in Lancaster for several years.

Mrs. Bashaw was an accounts payable clerk at Clinton Hospital for more than 15 years, retiring in 1993. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Clinton. She enjoyed arts and crafts, and playing bingo.

The funeral will be held Friday, Oct. 26, from Robert J. McNally Funeral Home, 304 Church St., Clinton, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church, 80 Union St., Clinton. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. A calling hour is 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. Friday, Oct. 26, in the funeral home. Flowers may be sent, or memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association of Massachusetts, 1 Abbey Lane, Middleboro, MA 02346-3230.

Jacob P. Bastien, infant

FITCHBURG -- Jacob P. Bastien, infant son of Kevin M. Bastien and Tami L. Devoe, of 196 Pratt Road, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, in HealthAlliance Leominster Hospital.

He leaves his maternal great-grandmothers, Dorothy J. (Dobins) Devoe of Marlboro and Joyce (Arsenault) Angevine of Leominster; his paternal great-grandparents, Roland and Gloria (Guilmette) Marcotte, and Joseph L. and Lorraine (Rousseau) Ledger, all in Florida, and Andre Bastien of Fitchburg; his maternal grandparents, Debra M. (Angevine) Holden in New Hampshire and Paul Devoe Sr. of Stow; and his paternal grandparents, Michael and Denise (Marcotte) Bastien of Fitchburg. He was born in Leominster.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 26, in St. Anthony de Padua Church, 84 Salem St. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Massachusetts Center for SIDS, Boston Medical Center, 1 Boston Medical Center Place, Boston, MA 02118; or to the St. Anthony de Padua Church Renovation Fund, 84 Salem St., Fitchburg, MA 01420. Josephine M. Bednarz
Thursday, October 25, 2001

THOMPSON -- Josephine M. Bednarz, 85, of Riverside Drive, North Grosvenordale, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, in Day Kimball Hospital, Putnam.

She leaves a sister, Bernice Bednarz, with whom she lived; a brother, William W. Bednarz of North Grosvenordale; a niece; grandnephews and grandnieces; and a great-grandniece. Three brothers, Frank, Ignatius, and John Bednarz, and a sister, Sophie LaChapelle, predeceased her. She was born in Webster, daughter of Andrew and Anna (Deren) Bednarz, and graduated from Tourtellotte Memorial High School in 1934.

Miss Bednarz worked many years in the mortgage department of Putnam Savings Bank. She later was a clerk in the Department of Motor Vehicles, Putnam Branch. She was a member of St. Joseph Church in North Grosvenordale.

The funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, in St. Joseph Church, 18 Main St., North Grosvenordale. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. A calling period will be held from 10:15 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, in Valade Funeral Home, 23 Main St., North Grosvenordale. Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Fire Department, North Grosvenordale, CT 06255; or to HealthNet Home Care, PO Box 6006, Putnam, CT 06260.

Albert A. Beeso, 66

WORCESTER -- Albert A. Beeso, 66, of 13 Pond St., died Thursday, Oct. 25, at home.

He leaves his wife of 38 years, Geraldine (Harris) Beeso; a daughter, Debra Beeso of Worcester; seven sons, Albert Kauras, Wayne, Timothy, Edward, Christopher, Donald and Tony Beeso, all of Worcester; a brother, Alexander Bisson of Worcester; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester, son of Walter and Helen (Kardokas) Beeso.

Mr. Beeso was an assembler for more than 30 years for Coppus Engineering in Worcester, which became Tuthill Co. in Millbury. He retired in 1998.

He was a member of St. John's Church.

The funeral will be held Monday, Oct. 29, from Dirsa-Kazlauskas Funeral Home, 51 Providence St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. John's Church, 40 Temple St. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or VNA Care Hospice Inc., 120 Thomas St., Worcester, MA 01608.

Virginia M. Berryman

WORCESTER -- Virginia M. (Neddo) Berryman, 70, of 3 Hyatt St., a nurse, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, in UMass Memorial Medical Center -- Memorial Campus, after an illness.

She leaves her husband of 47 years, Thomas G. Berryman; two sons, Robert R. and Gerald A. Berryman, both of Worcester; three daughters, Deborah J. Bundtzen of Northbridge, and Nancy M. and Lori J. Berryman, both of Worcester; her mother, Mildred (Shea) Neddo of Worcester; a brother, Robert G. Neddo of Shrewsbury; three sisters, Elizabeth Direda, Beverly Waskelevich and Sandra Goodrich, all of Worcester; 10 grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces. She was born in Worcester, daughter of George Neddo. She graduated from Commerce High School and from the nursing program at Quinsigamond Community College.

Mrs. Berryman was a registered nurse for several Worcester area nursing homes. She enjoyed bowling and bingo.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 26, in Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 9 Hammond St. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Eastern Paralyzed Veterans Association, 7 Mill Road, Wilton, NH 03086.

Richard H. Blondin, 68
Thursday, October 25, 2001

WORCESTER -- Richard H. Blondin, 68, of 175 Beaconsfield Road, a retired warehouseman and a veteran of the Korean War, died Wednesday, Oct. 24, at his home, after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 44 years, Jean F. (Robertson) Blondin; three sons, Michael J. Blondin of Manchester, N.H., Kevin J. Blondin of Worcester and Gregory A. Blondin of Paxton; a brother, Raymond Blondin of North Grafton; two sisters, Irene Reynolds of Yarmouthport and Barbara Lapomardo of Clovis, Calif.; three grandchildren; nieces and nephews; grandnieces and grandnephews; great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews. He was born in Worcester, son of Wilfred and Irene (Charpentier) Blondin, and lived most of his life in Worcester. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, serving in Germany.

Mr. Blondin was a warehouseman at Consolidated Beverage in Auburn for 41 years. He was a member of the AFL-CIO Teamsters Union Local 170.

He was an avid bowler, and was a member and vice president of the Catholic Men's League. He belonged to the Greendale Men's Club and to Christ the King Church.

The funeral will be held Saturday, Oct. 27, from Callahan Brothers Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701; or to VNA Hospice Care Inc., 120 Thomas St., Worcester, MA 01608.

Stella Boehnke, 80
Saturday, October 27, 2001

SPENCER -- Stella (Logan) Boehnke, 80, of 1 McDonald St., formerly of Worcester, died Thursday, Oct. 25, in The Meadows of Leicester after an illness.

Her husband, Edward Boehnke, died in 1972. She leaves two sons, Edward Boehnke of the Jefferson section of Holden, and Victor Boehnke of Spencer; four daughters, Paulette Maley and Donna Strom, both of Worcester, Barbara Batty and Karen Kenward, both of Spencer; a sister, Joan Lanava of Worcester; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. A brother, Victor Logan, and a sister, Helen Beauregard, predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Michael and Eva (Biblis) Logan, and lived most of her life in Worcester before moving to Spencer 15 years ago. She graduated from St. Mary's High School.

Mrs. Boehnke was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church.

The funeral will be held Monday, Oct. 29, from Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation St., with a Mass at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, in the funeral home.

Angelina Boulmetis, 76
Saturday, October 27, 2001

WORCESTER -- Angelina "Kiki" (George) Boulmetis, 76, of 101 Chadwick St., formerly of 23 Goldthwaite Road, a retired clerk, died Thursday, Oct. 25, in Fairlawn Rehabilitation Hospital after a brief illness.

Her husband of 49 years, Andrew J. Boulmetis, died July 12. She leaves a son, Charles A. Boulmetis of Worcester; a sister, Mary A. Kostares of Worcester; two grandsons; nephews and nieces. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Peter and Bessie (Psimoulis) George, and graduated from Commerce High School in 1943.

Mrs. Boulmetis was principal clerk at Worcester Registry of Deeds, where she worked almost 20 years, retiring in 1980.

She was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral and former treasurer of the Senior Parishioners Association. She was a member of the Ladies Philoptochos Society, Worcester Art Museum, Worcester Historical Society and Daughters of Penelope.

The funeral will be held Monday, Oct. 29, from Kelly Funeral Home, 154 Lincoln St., with a service at 10 a.m. in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell St. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, in the funeral home. A Trisagion service will be held during the calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to Ladies Philoptochos Society, 102 Russell St., Worcester, MA 01609; or to another charity.

Muriel F. Breault, 75
Tuesday, October 30, 2001

GARDNER -- Muriel F. (Bartlett) Breault, 75, of 94 Champagne Road, died Sunday, Oct. 28, in Wachusett Manor Nursing Home after an illness.

Her husband of 39 years, Roger Breault, died in 1983. She leaves two sons, Brian F. Breault of Derry, N.H., and Jeffrey P. Breault of La Grange, N.C.; a brother, Donald Bartlett of New Brunswick; three sisters, Goldie P. Shepardson of the Baldwinville section of Templeton, Mary Peters and Vera Caldwell, both of New Brunswick; three grandchildren; nephews and nieces. She was born in New Brunswick, daughter of Wallace and Clara (Greer) Bartlett, and had lived in Gardner since 1948. She was educated in Canada.

Mrs. Breault was a home caregiver for Catholic Charities. She enjoyed gardening, knitting and reading.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, in Smith Funeral Home, 69 Vernon St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. A calling hour is 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, PO Box 102454, Atlanta, GA 30368-2454.

Charles P. Brennan, 54
Friday, October 26, 2001

ASHBURNHAM -- Charles P. Brennan, 54, of 6 Laurel Drive, died Wednesday, Oct. 24, in the VA Hospital in West Roxbury after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 27 years, Anne L. (Barrett) Brennan; a son, Russell G. Brennan of Cape May, N.J.; six daughters, Judy A. Lajoie of Winchendon, Rebecca E. Brennan of Dover Fox, Maine, Lisa M. Brennan of Gardner, and Patricia A., Crystal L., and Jennifer R. Brennan, all of Ashburnham; a brother, Frederick J. Brennan of Lynn; eight grandchildren. A sister, Elizabeth A. McKeen of Swampscott, died in 1974. He was born in Lynn, son of Frederick and Rita (Mahegian) Brennan, and graduated from Lynn Classical High School in 1965. He graduated from Fisher Junior College in Boston in 1976. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

Mr. Brennan was an inventory control manager two years for BJ's Wholesale Club in Westboro, retiring in 1989. He previously worked at Zayre's Corp.

He was a member of American Legion Eugene M. Connor Post 193 in Winchendon, and was past commander of Disabled American Veterans of Gardner. He was on the board of directors of the National Association of Medics and Corpsmen and was a Web master there. He was a past quartermaster of the Joanettes Drum & Bugle Corps in Leominster, and was a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, Oct. 27, from Boucher Funeral Home Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner, with a Mass at 8:30 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner. Calling hours are from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, in the funeral home. Donations may be made to the United Veterans of America, Jack Downing, Building 6, 421 North Main St., Leeds, MA 01053, or the Holy Rosary School, 135 Nichols St., Gardner, MA 01440.
