ETTA B. BUCKEL
BITTINGER - Etta Blanche Buckel, 88, formerly of 176 Legeer Road, Bittinger, died Wednesday, June 24, 1998, at the Meyersdale Medical Center.
Born June 30, 1909, in Bittinger, she was a daughter of the late Jacob and Etta (Howell) Brenneman. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Rex Buckel, on Nov. 21, 1968; and a daughter Betty on July 2, 1992.
Mrs. Buckel was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and was a homemaker.
Surviving are a son, Joseph W. "Pete" Buckel, Bittinger; two daughters, Maxine Legeer, Bittinger, and Patricia MacDonald, Fort White, Fla.; a brother, Charles Brenneman, Livonia, Mich.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, on Friday from 2 to 9 p.m. because of the Grantsville Days Parade scheduled at 7 p.m.
Services will be conducted at Emmanuel Lutheran Church on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. David Rockwood officiating.
Interment will be in the Bittinger cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may be directed to the Emmanuel Church Building Fund.
CRYSTAL L. BUCY
CUMBERLAND (Bel Air) - Crystal L. Bucy, 17, of Cumberland, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 30, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born Aug. 30, 1980, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of Thomas and Marianna (Titchenell) Bucy, Cumberland.
Miss Bucy was an outstanding student at Allegany High School Special Education Class. She was a member of Liberty Christian Fellowship, Cresaptown.
In addition to her parents, surviving are her maternal grandparents, Walter and Geraldine Titchenell, Martinsburg, W.Va., and Rawlings; paternal grandparents, Dora and John Wilson Sr., Cumberland; one brother, James L. Bucy, at home; several aunts and uncles, Steve Titchenell Sr., and wife, Linda, Nancy Logan, Genene and Glen Updike, James Titchenell and wife, Beverly, Wayne Bucy and special friend, Shirley, Carol Sue Richards and husband, Edward, John William Wilson Jr., and special friend, Connie, Judith Ann Wilson and special friend, Thomas, Donna Lee Struntz and husband, William Joseph; and numerous cousins and friends.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., Cresaptown, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Gary L. Gordon officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland.

EMALINE R. CARTER
CUMBERLAND - Emaline Ruth Carter, 78, of Lions Manor Nursing Home, Cumberland, formerly of the Goodwill Mennonite Nursing Home, Grantsville, died Tuesday, Oct. 27, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Nov. 16, 1919, in Mount Savage, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary (Martin) Crump. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert William Carter, in 1993; two sisters, Grace Ridenour and Alma O'Neal; and one brother, Marshall Crump.
Mrs. Carter was a homemaker and devoted mother. She was a member of St. George's Episcopal Church, Mount Savage
Surviving are one daughter, Lorraine Neus and husband, Gary, Cumberland; one son, Vincent Yantorno and wife, Shawnee, Akron, Ohio; one stepdaughter, Michele Bonner and husband, Gary, Cumberland; three stepsons, Michael J. Carter, Cumberland, Fr. Stephen J. Carter, O.F.M., Cap., Washington, D.C., and Timothy J. Carter, Cumberland; two brothers, Robert Crump and wife, Virginia, Mount Savage, and John Crump and wife Carolyn, LaVale; three sisters, Virginia Bishop and husband, the Rev. Harold E. Bishop Jr., Quincy, Pa., Margaret Wilhelm, Mount Savage, and Mildred Klock, Cumberland; and 10 grandchildren.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 11:30 a.m. with the Rev. Harold E. Bishop Jr. officiating.
Interment will be in the Maryland Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap.
Pallbearers will be Eric Bonner, Martin Crump, Lee Brotemarkle, Eric Moore, Frank Yates and Fred Yost.

JOSEPH "TOM" CARTER
ECKHART - Joseph L. "Tom" Carter, 84, of 10022 Parkersburg Road, N.W., Frostburg, went to be with the Lord on June 11, 1998, at his residence.
Born Sept. 30, 1913, in Eckhart, he was the son of the late Charles and Nellie (Conners) Carter. He also was preceded in death by four brothers, Elmer J. Carter, Edgar "Pud" Carter, Charles C. Carter and George W. "Sal" Carter; four sisters, his twin sister, Ruth Carter, Esther Carter, Lillian "Betz" Burch and Mary Sleeman.
Mr. Carter was a retired oiler with the Kelly Springfield Tire Company.
He was a member of the Eckhart Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Lucille (Massie) Carter; two sons, Joseph L. Carter Jr., and wife, Linda, Potomac, and George Carter, and wife, Bonnie, Chicago, Ill.; two daughters, Nancy Grose, Eckhart, and Judy Wade, and husband, Dale, Frederick; a special niece, Mary Ann Schry, and husband, Randy, LaVale; one sister, Edith Carter, Mount Savage; one brother, Richard "Dick" Carter, Eckhart; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. George M. Harpold officiating.
Interment will be in the Eckhart cemetery.

EVA I. BUCY
CUMBERLAND - Eva Irene Bucy, 91, of Canterbury Nursing Home, Shepherdstown, W.Va., formerly of Harpers Ferry, W.Va., and Browning Street, Cumberland, died Saturday, Nov. 21, 1998, at City Hospital, Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born Oct. 3, 1907, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Laura E. (Westbrook) Everly. She also was preceded in death by her husband, James H.R. Bucy, on April 26, 1984.
Mrs. Bucy was a former employee of the Celanese and Kelly-Springfield Tire Co., and retired from the Cumberland Macaroni Factory. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and the Sunday Class, and was a former member of the Ladies Fellowship. After moving with her daughter, she attended Oakland United Methodist Church in Charles Town, W.Va., and was a member of the Womens Aglow Fellowship and the Living Waters Sharing Group; Senior Citizen groups; and the American Association of Retired Persons.
Surviving are one daughter, Paulette C. Bradley and husband Robert, Rippon, W.Va.; two sisters, Leona Martin and Sylvia Garlitz, both of Cresaptown; and two grandchildren, Brian Bradley and wife Amy, Charles Town, and Wanda Bradley, Short Gap, W.Va.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Richard Jewell officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland.
JEREMIAH A. BUCY
CUMBERLAND - Jeremiah Albert Bucy, 92, of Pasadena, Md., formerly of Cumberland, died Monday, Oct. 26, 1998, at the Mariner Nursing Home, Pasadena.
Born July 15, 1906, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Jeremiah Bucy and Rachel (Beall) Robinett. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Rawlings (McCabe) Bucy; one son, Jeremiah and one daughter, Beverly Lloyd.
Surviving are a sister, Hazel Wilkerson, Baltimore; four grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the McCully Funeral Home, 1304 Mountain Road, Pasadena.
