JAMES BOGIE
FROSTBURG - James Bogie, 73, of Frostburg, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 10, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Oct. 7, 1924, in Lonaconing, he was the son of Mary (Kirkwood) Bogie, of the Egle Nursing Home, and the late Alexander Bogie.
Mr. Bogie was a retired employee of the Celanese Corp. of Cumberland. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, served in the Korean Conflict from 1948 to 1952, and served in the Merchant Marines for six months. He attended LaVale Assembly of God Church.
Surviving are his wife, Velma (Boyce) Bogie; two sons, David Richard Bogie and wife Tammy, and James LaMar Bogie and wife Tonya, all of Lonaconing; four stepchildren, Rusty Thrasher, Amy Kiddy, Terry Dickens and Jimmy Dickens; two sisters, Annie Howell and Margaret McKenzie and husband Don, all of Lonaconing; two grandsons, Trevor James Bogie and Michael Bogie; a special nephew, Royce L. Boyce, Cresaptown; five brothers-in-law, Arthur A. Boyce and wife Martha, Aberdeen, the Rev. Paul Boyce and wife Jeanne, Sweetwater, Tenn., the Rev. Marvin Boyce and wife Sharon, Flushing, N.Y., Lourn Boyce and wife Dorothy, Clarysville, and Jimmy Long, Fort Wayne, Ind.; seven step-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Stephen Scheussler officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Military honors will be accorded by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
RALPH C. BOGGS
CUMBERLAND - Ralph Cletus Boggs, 88, of Cumberland, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1998, at the Allegany County Nursing Home.
Born Sept. 27, 1910, in Oldtown, he was the son of the late James and Tacy (Robinette) Boggs.
Mr. Boggs was retired from the Maryland State Roads Department. He was Methodist by faith.
Surviving are his wife, Effie P. Boggs; two sisters, Thelma Miller, Cumberland, and Zetta Wallace, Cresaptown; one brother, Donald Boggs, Cumberland; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Harold R. McClay Jr. officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland.
MARGARET BOGGS
FALLS CHURCH, Va. - Margaret (Dunn) Boggs, 70, of Falls Church, formerly of Cumberland, Md., died Thursday, July 9, 1998, at Inova Fairfax Hospital, Falls Church.
Born Sept. 1, 1927, in Rowlesburg, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Thomas E. and Mary (Herd) Dunn. She also was preceded in death by her husband, retired Sgt. Maj. U.S.M.C. Wendell R. Boggs, in 1985; one son, Gregory Scott Boggs; and two brothers, Paul E. and C. Michael Dunn.
Mrs. Boggs attended St. James Catholic Church, Falls Church, and she was a former member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Cumberland. She graduated with honors from St. Mary's High School. While in Cumberland, she was a member of the Sodality of St. Mary's, having served on the parish council, mother and daughter banquet, where she was voted "Mother of the Year," and she was a Religious Education Teacher. She also was a member of the Cumberland Eagles and the Allegany Arts Council.
Surviving are one son, Officer Timothy M. Boggs, and wife, Leslie, Sykesville, Md.; four daughters, Christine Thatcher, Falls Church, Kathleen McBay, and husband, Dan, Walkersville, Md., Karen Fullwood, and husband, Ron, Gaithersburg, Md., Cassandra Merchant, and husband, John, Arlington; four brothers, Thomas J. Dunn, and wife, Kathleen "Kitty," James Dunn, and wife, Rosalie, John Dunn, and wife, Mary, all of Cumberland, W. Patrick Dunn, Reno, Nev.; eight grandchildren; 22 nieces and nephews.
At Mrs. Boggs' request, she was cremated. A memorial mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Oldtown Road, Cumberland, on Saturday at 1 p.m. with Fr. William J. Moody as celebrant.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Friends Aware, St. Mary's Catholic Church, or to the charity of the donor's choice.

BILL CAGE
LINCOLN, Ill. - Harold "Bill" Cage, 60, formerly of Lincoln, died at 7:15 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, 1998, at Morton Villa, Ill.
He was born Aug. 16, 1938, in Cumberland, to Edward H. and Leoda Grace Brooks Cage.
Surviving are four sons, Harold Jr., Frank, James and William, and two daughters, Peggy and Tina Cage, all of Maryland; two brothers, Paul of Oldtown and Kenneth of Las Vegas, Nev., and three sisters, Barbara Beller of Creve Coeur, Ill., Janet Ritchie of Monrovia and Carol Seaman of Emden, Ill., and several grandchildren.
Nine brothers and sisters preceded him in death.
He served in the Army from 1957 to 1960. He was a member of the American Legion and the Moose Lodge, both in Lincoln.
There will be no service. Arrangements are by the Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois County, Peoria, Ill.
BETTY L. DUNCAN
NORFOLK, Va. - Betty L. Duncan, 71, of Norfolk, formerly of Cumberland and Hagerstown, Md., died Wednesday, May 6, 1998, at Lake Taylor Hospital, Norfolk.
Born Jan. 17, 1927, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Martin S. and Mary Delena (Royce) Duncan.
Ms. Duncan was retired from Rohr Industries in Hagerstown. She was a member of the Living Stone Church of the Brethren.
Surviving are one daughter, Sharri L. Keller, with whom she resided; and one sister, Esther E. Ridgeley, San Diego, Calif.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Timothy L. Monn officiating.

CLAYTON F. BLUME
CUMBERLAND - Clayton Frank "Doc" Blume, 78, of Cumberland, died Wednesday, April 1, 1998, at his residence.
Born Aug. 27, 1919, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Frank and Ressie (Twigg) Blume.
Mr. Blume was retired from ABL. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was member of the Cumberland VFW.
Surviving are his wife, Geraldine E. (Gray) Blume; one son, Clayton F. Blume Jr. and wife Kathryn; one daughter, Sharon A. (Blume) Twigg; one brother, Ronald L. Blume and wife Margie; one sister, Pauline (Blume) Weltman; three grandsons, Scott A. Twigg, Richard L. Blume and Christopher A. Blume; and five great-grandchildren, Brooke A. Blume, Christopher A. Blume Jr., Ciera O. Twigg, Katie M. Blume and Logan S. Twigg, all of Cumberland.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m., and Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Mark C. Dill officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
The family requests that donations be made to the American Lung Association or the Memorial Hospital Hospice Unit.
The Combined Veterans Honor Guard will serve as pallbearers.
BLANCHE L. BLUM
SWANTON - Blanche L. Blum, 75, of Swantamount Road, Swanton, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 1998, at her home.
Born Aug. 29, 1922, in New Creek, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Larry and Mabel (Rotruck) DeVelviss.
She is survived by her husband, Wesley W. Blum; three daughters, Vicki Cassell and husband, Dave, Cumberland, Judy Ervin and husband, Vic, Deer Park, and Michelle Lee, St. Mary's, Ga.; one son, Kevin Blum and wife, Joani, Oakland; one brother, Curtis DeVelviss, Short Gap, W.Va.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, Feb. 13, 1998, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Michael Mudge officiating. Interment will be in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens, Oakland.
