ANNA PEARL BARTLETT
GRANTSVILLE - Anna Pearl Bartlett, 76, of 95 HR Lane, Grantsville, died Monday, Jan. 19, 1998, at Meyersdale Medical Center, Meyersdale, Pa.
Born May 1, 1921, in Grantsville, she was the daughter of the late George William and Carrie (Spiker) Swauger. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry O. Bartlett.

Mrs. Bartlett worked as a cook at the Hill Top Inn Restaurant, Grantsville.

Survivors include one daughter, Carolan Rephann and husband, James, Grantsville; two sisters, Betty Miller and husband, Carl, Accident, and Thelma Anello, Grantsville; one sister-in-law, Rita Auvil, Cresaptown; five grandchildren, Timothy Dyche, Santa Ana, Calif., Steven Todd Dyche and wife, Susie, Meyersdale, Tracy Fazenbaker and husband, Paul, Grantsville, Jennifer Rephann, Myrtle Beach, S.C., Terry J. Rephann, Cumberland; and one great-granddaughter, Alexandria Dyche.

Friends will be received at the Newman Funeal Home, Grantsville, Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted at the funeral home, Thursday, Jan. 22, 1998, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Raymond Brown officiating.

Interment will be in the Grantsville cemetery.

VIRGINIA LEE BASILIO
LAVALE - Virginia Lee Basilio, 70, of 115 Mustaphal Drive, LaVale, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Dec. 11, 1998, at Washington County Memorial Hospital, Hagerstown.
Born Jan. 15, 1928, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Howard Sittig and the late Irma (Hausman) Sittig.

Mrs. Basilio was co-owner of Don's TV. She was an active member of Grace Memorial Community Church. She participated and danced with The Never Too Late Girls of Lepley Dance Studio.

Surviving are her loving husband of 45 years, Donald R. Basilio, LaVale; three daughters, Vicki Brashears and husband, Buddy, Eckhart, Terri Niemeyer and husband, Kevin, Short Gap, W.Va., and Kelly Browning and husband, Steve, Fort Belvoir, Va.; a sister, Ann Combs and husband, John, LaVale; five cherished grandchildren, Travis Brashears, Tom and Kati Niemeyer, and Ryan and Caleb Browning; several nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., with the Rev. Mickey Stephens officiating.

Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.

Contributions may be sent to The Cheryl Stephens Cancer Fund, in care of Grace Memorial Community Church, 1005 Bishop Walsh Road, Cumberland.

URITH O. BAUDER
FROSTBURG - Urith O. (Sittig) Bauder, 87, died Wednesday, Aug. 5, 1998, at the St. Vincent de Paul Nursing Center.
Born Feb. 11, 1911, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late Albert Sittig and Pearl (Davis) Sittig. She was also preceded in death by a brother, James Sittig.

At her wishes, the body was donated to the State Board of Anatomy.

MERNIE E. CLINGERMAN
CRESAPTOWN - Mernie Elizabeth Clingerman, 81, of Cresaptown, died Monday, April 27, 1998, in Manor Care Nursing Home, Silver Spring.
She was born July 27, 1916, in Petersburg, W.Va., the daughter of the late John William and Myrtle Alice Mongold.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Oswald Clingerman.

Mrs. Clingerman was a member of Cresaptown United Methodist Church, Women's Society of the Methodist Church, and she was retired from the Celanese Corporation.

Survivors include one son, Gary Clingerman, Laurel; three sisters, Florence Borror, Cresaptown, Virginia Cleaver, Pinto, Ruth Dawson, Boonsboro; three brothers, Paul Mongold, Odenton, Delmar Mongold, Cresaptown, Donald Mongold, Petersburg; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary, 1302 National Highway, LaVale, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Harold R. McClay Jr. officiating.

Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.

MERNIE E. CLINGERMAN
CRESAPTOWN - Funeral services for Mernie Elizabeth Clingerman, 81, of Cresaptown, will be conducted in the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary, 1302 National Highway, LaVale, on Thursday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Harold R. McClay Jr. will officiate.
Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.

Serving as pallbearers will be Steve Ciambor, Larry Cleaver, Pat Cimerola, Todd Clingerman, Mark Berman and Charles Cramer.

SHIRLEY Y. BAUGHMAN
CAVETOWN - Shirley Y. Baughman, 62, of Mapleville Road, Cavetown, died Monday, July 6, 1998, at her home.
Born in Cumberland on Jan. 27, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Arlie R. and Nellie Hymes Nelson. She is preceded in death by two brothers, Delbert Nelson and Ernest Nelson.

She graduated from Hagerstown Business College in 1992. She was retired from the Maryland Department of Social Services after 27 years of service, and had received a Governor's Citation as being an excellent employee.

She was a member of Christ Fellowship Assembly of God, Hagerstown.

She is survived by three daughters, Debra J. Pennesi, Cavetown, Dawn J. Bailey, Statesville, N.C., Chrissy Grove, Westminster; one son, John Bradford Bixler, Westminster; two sisters, Arlene Horst and Eva Boward, both of Hagerstown; three brothers, Granville Nelson, Smithsburg, Timothy D. Nelson, Cumberland, Gerald W. Nelson, Ridgeley, W.Va.; five grandchildren, Tony and Renata Pennesi, David and Nikki Bailey, Eddie Grove; and 18 nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Christ Fellowship Assembly of God, 17544 York Road, Hagerstown, with Pastor Dan Nason officiating.

Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family in care of Debra J. Pennesi, P.O. Box 268, Smithsburg, MD 21783.

NOAH S. BEACHY
GRANTSVILLE - Noah S. Beachy, 88, of 758 Springs Rd., Grantsville, and formerly of Salisbury, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 1998, at his home.
Born April 12, 1909, in Meyersdale, Pa., he was a son of the late Simon C. and Sarah (Tice) Beachy. He also was preceded in death by two children, Homer A. Beachy and Mary Lois Beachy.

Mr. Beachy was a retired farmer and owner of Beachy's Feed Service, West Salisbury, Pa. A member of Mountain View Christian Fellowship, he also served as trustee and member of Mountain View School Board. He was past treasurer of the Christian Business Men's Association.

He is survived by his wife, Fannie N. (Hershberger) Beachy; five children, Sarah M. Tice and husband, Henry, Simon D. Beachy and wife, Martha (Tice), Martha L. Yoder and husband, Raymond G., all of Grantsville, Miriam R. Yoder and husband, Eli R., Seebree, Ky., and Marvin J. Beachy and wife, Dorothy Fern (Yoder), Elizabethtown, Pa.; 21 grandchildren; and 40 great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Mountain View Christian Fellowship with the Rev. Jerry Yoder and the Rev. Menno Yoder officiating. Interment will be in the Church cemetery. The body will be taken to church one hour prior to services. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to Mountain View Church Brotherly Sharing for hospital expenses.

ETHEL T. BEAL
CUMBERLAND - Ethel Theora Beal, 84, of Cumberland Manor, Cumberland, died Thursday, July 2, 1998, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland.
Born Nov. 11, 1913, in Mount Savage, she was the daughter of the late Levi and Aquila (Witt) Beal. She also was preceded in death by four brothers, Burton, Homer, Ellsworth and Lester; and two sisters, Bertha Beal and Loretta Geiger. Miss Beal was survived by 11 nieces and nephews; however, she was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Miss Beal was an active member of Mount Harmony United Methodist Church, Wellersburg, Pa., where she formerly served as organist, pianist, Sunday School teacher and Chairperson of Missions. She worked for many years as a secretary to Queen City Glass Company and later to Allegany Ballistics Laboratories and Kelly Springfield Tire Company.

Services will be conducted at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, Pa., on Sunday at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Julie Applegate and the Rev. Roger Johnson officiating.

Interment will be in Cooks cemetery, Wellersburg.
