ELEANOR F. FLYNN
CUMBERLAND - Eleanor Frances Flynn, 89, formally of Baltimore Avenue, Cumberland, died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 1998, at Lions Manor Nursing Home, where she had been living.
Born July 2, 1909, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late George Smith and the late Anne Frances (White) Smith. Her husband, Robert Emmet Flynn Sr., former City of Cumberland Police Chief, died in 1965. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Mrs. Flynn was a former employee of the Celanese Corp. and a self-employed seamstress. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Eleanor Frances Butcher, Millville, N.J., and Loise Elaine Rice, Cumberland; two sons, Robert Emmet Flynn Jr. and wife Lois Gale, Washington, D.C., and Patrick John Flynn and wife Anne Louise, Reston, Va.; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Friday at 9 a.m. with Father Milton A. Hipsley as celebrant.

Interment will be in the St. Mary's Catholic cemetery.

JAMES H. LOAR
CRESAPTOWN - James Harvey Loar, 74, of Watson Street, SW, Cresaptown, died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 1998, at his residence.
Born Sept. 26, 1923, in Mount Savage, he was the son of the late James and Vinona (Bridges) Loar. He also was preceded in death by one son, Jody Loar; one brother, Michael Loar and one sister, Eileen Loar.

Mr. Loar was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II and retired from the Teamsters Union 453. He was a member of the Salisbury, Pa., VFW, and the Cresaptown Eagles.

Surviving are his wife, Rosalie R. Loar; three daughters, Gwenn Winters and husband, Art, Frostburg; Dawn Zufall and husband, Kevin, Cresaptown; Betty Offutt and husband, David, Grand Prairie, Texas; two brothers, Bernard Loar, Mount Savage; Jack Loar, Kennells Mills, Pa.; eight grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., Cresaptown, on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Everett Spence officiating. Interment will be in Lease cemetery, Cresaptown.

Military honors will be accorded by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.

LULA H. LEASE
CUMBERLAND - Lula Hazel Lease, 90, formerly of 308 Bellvue Heights, Cumberland, and the Allegany County Nursing Home, died Wednesday, Nov. 18, 1998, at Memorial Hospital. Born Sept. 10, 1908, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Jacob Louis Snyder and the late Ada (Evans) Snyder. She was also preceded in death by her husband, the late Elmer Theodore Lease, on July 15, 1997. Mrs. Lease was a member of Holy Cross Episcopal Church. Surviving are five sons, James Lease and wife, Lois, Pittsburgh, Pa., Ronald Lease and wife, Diane, Reading, Pa., Gary Lease and wife, Notra, Memphis, Tenn., Michael Lease and wife, Pat, Cumberland, and Terry Lease and wife, Jackie, Furnace Acres, W.Va.; a daughter, Linda Miller and husband, Donald, Pasadena, Md.; 12 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Isabelle Downing, Denton, Maxine Squires, Cumberland, and Wilda Long, Cumberland. Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., with the Rev. Arthur R. Lillicropp, Rector of Holy Cross Episcopal Church, officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Burial Park.

MOSSELLE L. GREENLOW
A remembrance service will be held for Mosselle Greenlow, beloved mother of Penny Knobel-Besa, at 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 12, 1998, in the Lobby of the historic Failinger Hotel Gunter at 11 W. Main Street in Frostburg.
Mosselle L. (nee Gordon) died October 23, 1998, at Lions Manor Nursing Center. A funeral liturgy was held by the Shrine of the Little Flower in Baltimore and she was laid to rest in Loudon Park cemetery.

She was formerly of Baltimore, a former employee of Martin Marietta and retired from Johns Hopkins Hospital. She was a past member of Baltimore Actors Theatre and a patron of the Maryland Theatre Arts Company after moving to this area in January 1994.

She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph H. Greenlow and devoted grandmother of Jessica Maurer of Maine and Pattrice Jones of Michigan.

Mrs. Greenlow also was a patron to the Frostburg and Washington Street libraries; any remembrances should be directed to the Allegany County Library for acquisition of new books.

All those who knew her are invited to partake in a celebration of her life directed by the Reverend Margie Iddines of Rising Phoenix Retreat Center.

FLOYD W. KAYLOR SR.
CUMBERLAND - Floyd W. Kaylor Sr., 85, of Kensington, One Baltimore St., Cumberland, formerly of LaVale, and Springfield, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 1, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Sept. 14, 1912, in Patterson Creek, W.Va., he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John E. Kaylor. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Delores (Wintermyer) Kaylor, on Jan. 16, 1995.

Mr. Kaylor was a retired supervisor from the Kelly Springfield Tire Company. He was a member of the R.A.S.P. Club; member LaVale Fire Department; and starting member of the Springfield Fire Department and Ambulance Service. He also was a member of the Springfield Ruritan Club. He attended SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.

Survivors include two sons, Floyd W. Kaylor Jr. and wife Delores, LaVale, and John E. Kaylor and wife Suzi, Cumberland; a daughter, Denise VanDermark, Raleigh, N.C.; three grandchildren, Floyd Kaylor III, LaVale, Valerie Knippenberg and John Kaylor, all of Cumberland; two great-grandchildren, LaVale; and one sister, Josephine Lopez, Newport, Pa.

At Mr. Kaylor's request, his body was donated to the Maryland Anatomy Board.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church on Friday, July 3, 1998, at 10 a.m. with Father Vance Pastorius as celebrant.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association of Allegany County.

HELEN V. ISNER
CUMBERLAND - Helen Virginia Isner, 73, of Willowbrook Road, Cumberland, died Saturday, July 25, 1998, at Devlin Manor Nursing Home.
Born June 1, 1925, in Oakland, she was the daughter of the late Elmer E. Goss and the late Hallie E. (Lipscomb) Goss. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar A. Isner, in 1986; a daughter, Mary V. "Cookie" Paul, in 1995; six brothers, Everett Goss, Joe Goss, John Goss, James Goss, Robert Goss and William Goss; and three sisters, Margaret Chaney, Evelyn Allen and Mary Louise Smith. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Mrs. Isner was retired from the Allegany County Nursing Home. She served in the U.S. Navy Reserve from August 1958 to August 1962. Mrs. Isner was a member of Livingstone Church of the Brethren. She was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, Loyal Order of the Moose #271, Ali Ghan Shrine Ladies of the Railroad, Ali Ghan Temple, Goodfellowship Social Club, V.F.W., Cumberland Outdoor Club, Chapter #56 Order of the Eastern Star, Ladies Auxiliary of the Eagles #245, American Legion Auxiliary Fort Cumberland Post #13.

Surviving are two stepdaughters, Thelma Zembower, and husband, Daryl "Buddy," Route 6, Bedford, Pa., and Regina Whiteman, of Solomons; two grandchildren, Ronald Paul Jr., Stephens City, Va., and Brenda Hopkins, Berryville, Va.; a great-granddaughter, Brittney Hopkins, Berryville; six step-grandchildren; and nine step-great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., with the Rev. Timothy Monn officiating.

Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.

ANNA M. FOLK
MOUNT SAVAGE - Anna Mary Folk, 95, of Frostburg Village Nursing Home, formerly of 11812 Slabtown Road, NW, Mount Savage, died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A Christian service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 8:30 p.m. with Deacon Robert Lilly officiating.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Mount Savage, on Saturday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Milton A. Hipsley as celebrant.

Interment will be in the St. George's cemetery.

Pallbearers will be George Bishields Jr., Joseph Bishields, Michael Norris, John Marshall, Alex Folk, Michael Keegan and Donald Keene.

GLEN "PAPPY" FOLK
CUMBERLAND - Glen Donald "Pappy" Folk, 84, of Mason Road, Cumberland, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 5, 1998, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Oct. 31, 1913, in Savage, Pa., he was the son of the late Simon Folk and the late Savannah (Livengood) Folk. He also was preceded in death by his former wife, Dorothy J. (Cruey) Folk, in 1971; two sisters, Zola Patton and Hilda Peck; and a brother, Claude Folk.

Mr. Folk served 32 years as a Sergeant with the Maryland State Police, retiring in 1975. He was an active member of Memorial Heights Baptist Church, serving as a Deacon and a choir member. He also was a 50-year member of the Woodmen of the World.

He was the beloved and devoted husband to Mildred K. (Midgie) Folk, Cumberland; the father to three daughters, Glenda Riddle, and husband, Jeffery, Baldwin, Donna J. Walker, and husband Elmer J., Abingdon, and Lori L. Beegle, and husband, Barry, Bedford, Pa.; and stepfather to Dennis L. Wolfe, and wife, Sharon, Westernport. Also surviving are a sister, Jane Wable, Fort Hill, Pa.; eight grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Memorial Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Dennis A. Michael officiating. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to the funeral service.

Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Ben R. Cessna, Clearville, Pa., Barry K. Beegle, Bedford, Dennis L. Wolfe II, and Dennis L. Wolfe III, Westernport, and Kenneth Wable and Keith Wable, of Fort Hill, Pa.

The family has requested that memorials take the form of contributions to the Memorial Heights Baptist Church Building Fund.
