PAUL HUTCHESON
LONACONING - Paul Hutcheson, 60, of Douglas Avenue, Lonaconing, died Saturday, July 18, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born April 10, 1938, in Frostburg, he was a son of the late James W. Hutcheson and Mary (Gould) Hutcheson. He also was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Hutcheson; and two sisters, Esther DeShong and Eilene Hutcheson.
Mr. Hutcheson was retired from the Celanese Corp.
Surviving are his wife, Irene (Baker) Hutcheson; one son, Gerald Cutter and wife Wilma, Klondike; and one daughter, Judy Broadwater and husband Gilbert, Lonaconing; three brothers, William Hutcheson, Lonaconing, Robert Hutcheson, Lonaconing, and Kenneth Hutcheson, Michigan; one sister, Ruth Likens, Lonaconing; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Friends will be received at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing, Tuesday, July 21, 1998, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home Wednesday, July 22, 1998, at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Leslie Miles, M.D., officiating.
Interment will follow at Mountain View cemetery, Moscow Mills.
THOMAS H. GRAHAM
OAKLAND - Thomas H. Graham, 91, of Graham Road, Oakland, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 1998, at the Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland.
Born Sept. 9, 1906, in Crellin, he was the son of the late W. Franklin and Helen M. (Ashby) Graham. He also was preceded in death by four brothers, Victor Graham, Spencer Graham, Charles Graham and Paul Graham; one sister, Gladys Shaffer; and one granddaughter, Diana M. Graham.
Mr. Graham was a retired coal miner and farmer, and attended the Underwood United Brethren Church. He was a member of Lodge 11, W.O.W., Oakland.
Surviving are his wife, Daisy M. (Sliger) Graham; three sons, Howard W. Graham and wife Nellie, Frederick, D. Thomas Graham and wife Minnie, Jefferson, and Clifford K. Graham and wife Patricia, Oakland; one special sister-in-law, Vida Sliger, Oakland; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, Jan. 26, 1998, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. David Kisamore, the Rev. Charles Teets and the Rev. Donald Matthews officiating.
Interment will be in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens, Oakland.
JOHN R. GRAHAME
FIFE LAKE, Mich. - John Rockwell "Rock" Grahame, of Fife Lake, died at Tendercare Nursing Home in Traverse City on April 1, 1998.
He was born in Mount Savage, Md., on Aug. 12, 1906, to John Colin and Margaret Cecilia (Malloy) Grahame.
He is survived by his wife, Katie, of Fife Lake; his daughter, Margaret (Benjamin) Fairless, of Royal Oak and Fife Lake; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy (Colen) Barth of Mount Savage; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Walter and George; and sisters Bernadine (Stephen) Boyle, Margaret (Joseph) Campbell, Katherine Grahame, and Mary Jo (Fay) Keiser.
John loved his family dearly and he enjoyed playing euchre, working puzzles, watching baseball and horse racing. John was a journeyman machinist by trade and he worked for the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad shop in Cumberland, Md., until 1953 when he moved to Detroit. He worked at Ford Motor Co. in Dearborn before retiring and moving to Fife Lake in 1974. John belonged to Ford Local 600 in Dearborn and he was a Golden Eagle member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 245 of Cumberland.
Visitation will be held at the Covell-Smith Funeral Home, 200 N. Bronson Ave., Kingsley, on Friday from 2 to 5 and 6 to 9 p.m. A Prayer Service will be held Friday at 4 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Fife Lake. Interment will be in St. Aloysius cemetery.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be directed to the Leukemia Society of America.
RICHARD L. GRAY
CUMBERLAND - Richard Lee Gray, 61, of 210 Harrison St., Cumberland, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 1998, at the home of his daughter Kim Baker, on Valley Road, Cumberland.
Born Sept. 10, 1936, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Daniel Theodore Gray and the late Catherine (Kemp) Gray. He also was preceded in death by a son, Richard L. Gray Jr.
Mr. Gray was a former employee of the Pinkerton Agency in California. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Kim Ann Baker and husband Darrell, Cumberland, and Ramona Hester and husband Brian, Tulsa, Okla.; four grandchildren; four sisters, Catherine Nycum, Mary Jeanette Stitcher, Dorothy Gray and Rita Ann Cook, all of Cumberland; and a special friend, Shirley Gray, Cumberland.
Mr. Gray's wishes were that he be cremated at the Cumberland Crematory.
A service will be held at a later date.
The Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, is in charge of the arrangements.
CECIL E. GREEN
SYKESVILLE - Cecil E. Green, age 84, of Sykesville, died on Sunday, Sept. 13, 1998, at his home after a lengthy illness.
Born on Sept. 9, 1914, in Barton, Garrett County, he was the son of the late John Adam and Alda Broadwater Green.
He had been a farmer and coal miner in earlier years. He had been a truck driver for the Central Laundry facility at the correctional camp at Springfield Hospital Center. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post #189, Barton.
He is survived by a brother, John L. Green, Sykesville; and sister, Dorothy Taylor, Frostburg.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday from the Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, Route 32 between Sykesville and Eldersburg. Officiating will be the Rev. Keith Corrick.
Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
DANIEL D. GRENKE
CUMBERLAND - Daniel D. Grenke, 70, of Valley Road, Cumberland, died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 1998, at Memorial Hospital.
Born March 16, 1928, in Fairhope, Pa., he was the son of the late August Grenke and Ella Grenke Hall. He was also preceded in death by five brothers; and two sisters.
Mr. Grenke was retired from Crites Transfer, Cumberland. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, and was a member of First Wesleyan Church, Cresaptown, the Cumberland V.F.W., and a lifetime member of the Bowman's Addition Fire Hall.
Surviving are his wife, Rita Grenke; one daughter, Trica Bradshaw and husband, Robert, Cumberland; one brother, Albert Grenke and wife, Illene; one granddaughter, Donna Lipscomb and husband, J.R., LaVale; two great-grandsons, Seth and Travis; and special friends, Laura and Charles Headley and family.
Friends will be received at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. There will be no visitation on Thursday.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 10 a.m. with Pastor Kevin T. Lowery officiating.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale. Graveside military services will be accorded by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
Pallbearers will be Robert Bradshaw, J.R. Lipscomb, Herb Robinson, Dick Knipple, Ernest Combs and John Horwath.
The family requests contributions be made to the American Heart Association.
