MARJORIE MARLYN HARCLERODE
LAVALE - Marjorie Marlyn Harclerode, 76, of LaVale, died Wednesday, Oct. 21, 1998, at her residence.
Born May 24, 1922, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Charles Everett and Alma Marie (Messman) Frankfort. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Charles Harclerode, in 1984; and two brothers, Karl and Robert Frankfort.
Mrs. Harclerode was a retired certified nurse anesthetist from Memorial Hospital. She served in the U.S. Army Medical Corp as a first lieutenant during World War II. She was a 1940 graduate of Fort Hill High School, a 1943 graduate of Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, and graduated from St. Frances School of Anesthesiology in Pittsburgh, Pa. She was a member of the Maryland State Nurse Anesthetist Association where she had been past Treasurer, the Western Maryland Nurse Alumni Association, the Ladies of the Shrine, the Shrine Motor Corp Ladies Auxiliary, and the Fort Hill Class of 1940 Reunion Committee.
Surviving are two sons, H.C. "Skip" Harclerode II and wife, Judy, Phoenix, Md., and Philip R. Harclerode, Keedysville; five grandchildren, Kristen A. Williams and husband, Frank, Timonium, Brent C. Harclerode, Drew M. Harclerode, all of Phoenix, P. Dewain Harclerode Prince, Frederick, and Megan M. Harclerode, Keedysville; and two sisters-in-law, Gladys Frankfort, Jupiter, Fla., Marian H. Imler, Bedford, Pa.
At Mrs. Harclerode's request, she was cremated.
A memorial service will be conducted at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Bernadette M. Ross officiating.
The cremains will be interred at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Cumberland.
Contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
BENJAMIN LASHLEY JR.
CUMBERLAND - Benjamin Franklin Lashley Jr., 68, of Cumberland, died Friday, July 3, 1998, at Memorial Hospital.
Born April 26, 1930, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Benjamin Franklin Lashley Sr. and Irene (Knippenberg) Lashley.
Mr. Lashley retired in 1986 from the Kelly-Springfield Tire Company, where he cured tires.
He was a member of Lodge #662, Loyal Order of Moose, Keyser, W, W.Va.
Survivors include one son, Benjamin F. Lashley III; three daughters, Sharon Hamby, Allenpark, Mich., Linda Buxenstein, Keyser, and Rhoda Carpenter, Ridgeley, W.Va.; and a special friend, Helen McKinley, Cumberland.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., corner of Greene and Smallwood streets, Cumberland, on Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Paul Heady officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
Serving as pallbearers are Jason Seib, Lee Carpenter, Gordon McVettey, Art Butler, Bobby Butler and Gary Gillespie.
CHARLES HARDEGEN JR.
WESTERNPORT - Charles B. Hardegen Jr., age 77, of 22711 Horse Rock Road, S.W., Westernport, died Saturday, Sept. 26, 1998, at Potomac Valley Hospital.
Mr. Hardegen was born in Lonaconing on Dec. 11, 1920, and was the son of the late Charles B. Hardegen Sr. and Alice M. McAlpine. He was preceded in death by a son, Gary L. Hardegen; and two sisters.
He was a member of the Piedmont Presbyterian Church and a member of the session of the church. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of Kelly-Mansfield Post #52, American Legion in Piedmont, and Victory Post #155, American Legion in Westernport, and Alvin C. Neat Post #5280 VFW in Lonaconing.
He retired from Westvaco Corporation in May 1986 as Supervisor in the Maintenance Department.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine "Jeri" McIntyre Hardegen; three sons, Charles B. Hardegen III and wife, Karen, Forest Hill, Neil J. Hardegen and wife Jeneen, Huntingtown, Randy S. Hardegen and wife, Jennifer, Hagerstown; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The body will be cremated.
A memorial service will be held at the Piedmont Presbyterian Church on Saturday, Oct. 3, 1998, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Garrison officiating.
The family request that memorials be directed to the Piedmont Presbyterian Church or to the Tri-Towns Rescue Squad.

AGNES C. KIENHOFER
CUMBERLAND - Agnes Claire (McGreevy) Kienhofer, 78, of Cumberland, died July 19, 1998, at Hospice Special Care Unit of Memorial Hospital.
Born Oct. 1, 1919, in Dawson, she was the daughter of the late Patrick Owen McGreevy and the late Agnes C. (Byrne) McGreevy. She also was preceded in death by four brothers; and two sisters.
Ms. Kienhofer was employed in earlier years by Celanese Fibers Corporation and Swartzenbachs Clothing Store. She also lived in the Auburndale, Fla., area for a number of years before returning to Cumberland. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and the Ladies Auxiliary Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #245.
Surviving are her four sons, Timothy J. McGreevy, and wife, Lana, Fairgo, James E. Kienhofer Jr., and wife, Kathy, Frederick, Kevin T. Kienhofer, and wife, Rosalyn, Cresaptown, Richard T. Kienhofer, and wife, Diane, Frederick; two brothers, Edward "Ted" McGreevy, and wife, Jo, Cumberland, and Robert L. McGreevy, and wife, Marian, Cumberland; one sister, Nancy Bankard, and husband, Dick, Westminster; and four grandchildren, Taryn L. (Kienhofer) Sisco, Miami, Fla., Greg A. Klosterman, Frederick, Jodi A. Kienhofer, and Carli S. Kienhofer, Cresaptown.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 9 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas R. Bevan as celebrant.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice Special Care Unit at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland.
OLLA M. HARDEN
CUMBERLAND - Olla Marie Harden, 93, of the Devlin Manor Nursing Home, formerly of Booth Towers, died Wednesday, June 17, 1998, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Jan. 11, 1905, in Eckhart, she was the daughter of the late James W. and Carrie R. (Rephann) Harden. She also was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Mrs. Harden was retired from the Realto Restaurant and Tri-State Discount Center Snack Bar.
Surviving are two nephews, Robert J. Harden and wife Jeanie, Cumberland, and Donald R. Harden and wife Sheila, Cresaptown; one niece, Mildred Harden Murphy, Cumberland; one sister-in-law, Elizabeth "Toots" Harden, Frostburg; and a number of nieces and nephews from the Frostburg area, great-nieces and -nephews, and great-great-nieces and -nephews.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home Friday at 1 p.m. with Father Milton A. Hipsley officiating.
Interment will be in St. Michael's cemetery, Frostburg.
Pallbearers will be D.R. Harden, Brandon Harden, Tim Murphy, Aaron Murphy, Michael Murphy and Darrin Bosley.
MARY KAY KREILING
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Mary Kay Kreiling, 79, of Scottsdale, died Sunday, Jan. 25, 1998, at Scottsdale.
Born in Kansas City, Mo., she was married
to Mr. Mayo Kreiling, formerly of Frostburg, Md., who recently preceded her in death.
Surviving are three sons, Paul, Santa Monica, Calif., Karl, Tempe, Ariz., and Gary, Scottsdale.
Mrs. Kreiling's funeral is under the direction of the Newcomer Family Mortuary Chapel, 6812 East Thomas Road, Scottsdale, Ariz.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 12:30 p.m.
