JOSHUA P. LIVINGSTON
FROSTBURG - Joshua Paul Livingston, 14, of 180 E. Mechanic St., Frostburg, died Saturday, May 16, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Dec. 17, 1983, in Cumberland, he was the son of Paula (Skipper) Livingston, of Frostburg, and the late Joe P. Livingston, who died on Sept. 3, 1994. He also was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Paul Skipper.

Joshua was a student at Beall High School.

Surviving in addition to his mother are one brother, Joseph N. Livingston, two sisters, Jennifer R. Livingston and Jacquelyn M. Livingston, all at home; maternal grandmother, Alice Marie Skipper, Oakland; paternal grandparents, William B. and Ruth (Hahn) Livingston, Frostburg; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the Welsh Memorial Baptist Church, 19 Beall St., Frostburg, on Wednesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. William G. Boyer Jr. officiating.

The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to the services.

Interment will be in the Frostburg Memorial Park.

CHRISTINA LLEWELLYN
BARTON - Christina May Llewellyn, 72, formerly of Barton, died Dec. 24, 1998, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland. She had been a patient for 19 years at Allegany County Nursing Home, Cumberland.
Born at Moscow on April 11, 1926, she was a daughter of the late John Russell Llewellyn and Sophia Elizabeth (Moreland) Llewellyn.

She was Methodist by faith.

Surviving are one brother, James G. Llewellyn, Lakeland, Fla.; and one sister, Mary E. Robertson, a patient at Allegany County Nursing Home. Also surviving are nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing, on Monday from noon to 2 p.m., where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. with the Rev. George Loar officiating.

Interment will be in Laurel Hill cemetery, Moscow Mills.

E. MARIE LLEWELLYN
PINTO - E. Marie Llewellyn, 82, of Pinto, died Sunday, May 3, 1998, at University of Maryland Shock Trauma Unit, Baltimore.
Born Dec. 24, 1915, in Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Faye O. and Ressie Livingood. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Robert Llewellyn.

Mrs. Llewellyn was a waitress for several local restaurants. She was a member of Pinto Mennonite Church and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Ladies Auxiliary Aerie #2883.

Surviving are one son, Bailey R. Llewellyn, and wife, Bobbi, Keyser, W.Va.; two brothers, Clayton Livingood, and wife, Jean, Cumberland; Guy Livingood, and wife, Louise, Springs, Pa.; three sisters, Pearl Lantz, and husband, Clarence, Cottage Grove, Tenn., Dorothy Lenhart, and husband, Bellmont, Boyington, Pa.; Clara Lichty, and husband, Reid, Meyersdale, Pa.; and one granddaughter, Peyton L. Llewellyn, Belcamp.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., Cresaptown, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Sven E. Miller officiating.

At Mrs. Llewellyn's request she will be cremated. Her cremains will be interred at Pinto Mennonite cemetery, Pinto.

BERNARD L. LOAR
MOUNT SAVAGE - Bernard L. Loar, Mount Savage Road, Mount Savage, 72, died Thursday, Feb. 5, 1998, at his residence.
Born Oct. 8, 1925, in Wellersburg, Pa., he was the son of the late James Loar and Vinona (Bridges) Loar. Mr. Loar also was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael and James Loar; and one sister, Eileen Lease.

Mr. Loar was a Navy Veteran of World War II and was retired as a truck driver with Teamsters Local #20.

He is survived by his wife, Lora May (Sturtz) Loar; three sons, Bernard L. "Bernie" Loar and wife, Joan, Frostburg, Robert J. Loar and wife, Gail, Spring Hill, Fla., and William H. Loar, Mount Savage; two daughters, Linda E. Case and husband, Tony, Barboursville, W.Va., and Lora M. Thomas and husband, Mark, Vallejo, Calif.; one brother, John L. Loar, Kennell's Mills, Pa.; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Friends will be received on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. only, at the Leasure-Stein Funeral Home, 230 Baltimore Avenue, Cumberland.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday at 10 a.m. at the Veterans Chapel at Rocky Gap with the Rev. Richard C. Broome Jr. officiating.

Interment will be in the Maryland Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap.

Military Honors will be accorded at the graveside by the Farrady Post #24, American Legion of Frostburg.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Home Health Care Hospice of the Western Maryland Health Care System, 600 Memorial Avenue, Cumberland.

RUTH F. LOHR "AUNT PUDGIE"
LAVALE - Friends will be received for Ruth Friend Lohr, "Aunt Pudgie," 94, of LaVale, at the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary, 1302 National Hwy., LaVale, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the LaVale United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bernadette Ross, assisted by the Rev. Richard Chambers. Mrs. Lohr's body will be taken to the church one hour prior to services.

Interment will follow in Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ray Pile, Ed Carter, Tab Wharton, Carl Lohr, Jeff Yoder and Jimmy Sweitzer.

PEGGY JANE LOIBEL
CUMBERLAND - Peggy Jane (Schwartz) Loibel, 73, of Cumberland, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 1998, at the Frederick Health Care Center, Frederick.
Born Feb. 5, 1925, in Gormania, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Austin and Vivian E. (Duckworth) Schwartz.

Mrs. Loibel also was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Edward Loibel; and one son, Michael Francis Loibel.

Mrs. Loibel had been a sales clerk at Rosenbaum's Department Store. She also had been a seamstress at home.

She was Presbyterian by faith.

Survivors include two daughters, Victoria Loibel, Cumberland, and Mary Robin (Loibel) Footen, Hagerstown; one granddaughter, whom she adopted, Kerri Anne Footen, Cumberland; and one sister, Mary (Schwartz) Evans, Oakland.

Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Steve Shussett officiating.

Interment will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association of Maryland, 11 Columbia St., Cumberland, MD 21502; or to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 1114, Cumberland, MD 21502.

EDITH CATHERINE LONG
WESTERNPORT - Edith Catherine Long, 86, of Moran Manor Nursing Home, and formerly of 3 Altamont Terrace, Cumberland, died Sunday, Jan. 25, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born July 11, 1911, in Garrett County, she was the daughter of the late Harman G. and Harriett C. (Bittinger) Broadwater. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Long; and four sisters, Dorothy Sutherland, Minnie Broadwater, Nellie Llewellyn and Flossie Beeman.

Mrs. Long was formerly employed as a cook at the former Fort Cumberland Hotel. She was a member of the Living Stone Church of the Brethren.

She is survived by five brothers: Herbert Broadwater, Millersville, Howard W. Broadwater, LaVale, Grover C. Broadwater, LaVale, Edward C. Broadwater, Corriganville, and Robert H. Broadwater, Lonaconing; six sisters, Della V. Beeman, LaVale, Theresa Broadwater, Mill Run, Myrtle M. Broadwater, York, Pa., Rozella J. Rounds, Grantsville, Lillie M. Broadwater, Mill Run, and Thelma M. Bittinger, Grantsville.

Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Lonaconing, on Tuesday, Jan. 27, from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday, Jan. 28, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday, Jan. 29, at 1 p.m. by the Rev. Homer Beeman.

Interment will be in the Mount View cemetery, Moscow Mills.
