FREDRICK R. LONG
ASHTABULA, Ohio - Fredrick R. Long, 57, of Michigan Avenue, Ashtabula, died Sunday, June 7, 1998, at his home after a long illness.
He was born May 17, 1941, in Frostburg, Md., the son of Samuel and Cora C. (Atkinson) Long, Sr., and has been an area resident for most of his life.
Surviving him are his wife, June (Emerson) Long, whom he married
May 17, 1970; a daughter, Corrine Louise Kelly, Ashtabula; four grandchildren, Krystal, Kandice, Michael and Tauri Kelly; five brothers, Samuel Long Jr., of Perry, Raymond O. Long, of Virginia, Gerald Long, Orlando, Fla., James N. Long, of Geneva, and Larry K. Long, College Station, Texas; a sister, Maryellen L. Perdew, Cumberland, Md.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Donna (Fallon) Long in 1968; and by four brothers, Stephen, Donald, Salem and Howard Long.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 10, at 11 a.m. at the Ross-Billman Funeral Home, a Family Care Group Affiliate, 526 Prospect Road, Ashtabula, with the Rev. Stephen Long of the First Presbyterian Church, Ashtabula, officiating.
Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery, Geneva.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, June 9, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home with the BPOE #208 conducting services at 8:45 p.m.
MILDRED M. LOUGHERY
CUMBERLAND - Mildred M. Loughery, 81, of Route 3, Bel Air Apartments, Cumberland, died Tuesday, March 31, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
She was born Dec. 16, 1916, in Westernport, a daughter of the late Henry Guy and the late Carrie (Moran) Guy. She also was preceded in death by her husband, John Loughery; two sisters, Dorothy (Guy) Viti and Elizabeth (Guy) Gilmore.
She was a retired secretary for the Maryland State Health System, Cumberland.
She was Catholic by faith and formerly attended St. Peter's Catholic Church, Westernport.
She is survived by a niece, Timmie Ann Lancaster, Rawlings; and nephews, Henry Viti, Sparta, N.J., and Robert Viti, Gettysburg, Pa.
Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Wednesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. John Footen officiating.
Interment will be in the Philos cemetery, Westernport.
PATRICK L. LOUGHNEY
BALTIMORE - Patrick Leo Loughney, 81, of Baltimore, died suddenly on Saturday, Jan. 17, 1998, at his residence.
Born July 18, 1916, in Maryland, he was preceded in death by two brothers; and five sisters.
Mr. Loughney was a former building superintendent.
He was the beloved husband of 59 years to Frances H. (Hunter) Loughney; devoted father of Mary Patricia Willette and husband Malcolm, and Carole Lynn Lucas and husband Paul; loving grandfather of Mark E. Willette, Elizabeth A. Yeager and husband Brian, Stephen P. Lucas and wife Debbie, and Kimberly M. Lucas; and dear great-grandfather of Lauren R. Lucas.
Friends may call at the Leonard J. Ruck Funeral Home Inc., 5305 Harford Road, Baltimore, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A Vigil Service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Dominic's Church on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. with the Rev. Robert Lentz as celebrant. Interment will be in the Parkwood cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
PATRICK L. LOUGHNEY
BALTIMORE - Patrick Leo Loughney, a retired building superintendent, died suddenly Saturday, Jan. 17, 1998, at his home in Parkville. He was 81 years old.
Born in Frostburg, Mr. Loughney was one of eight children. He attended Beall High School and worked at the Celanese Corporation in Cumberland.
In 1944 he moved to Baltimore where he worked as a foreman at Bethlehem Steel in Sparrows Point.
He served as a First Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps during World War II.
Later he began a new career which spanned residential and commercial building. He was highly regarded in the building industry. Former employers include Barnes Hall, C.W. Jackson, and Carl and Ed Julio.
Mr. Loughney was a long-standing member of St. Dominic's Catholic Church in Hamilton where he served as an usher.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Dominic's. Burial was in the Parkwood cemetery, Parkville.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Frances H. Loughney (nee Hunter) also formerly of Frostburg; two daughters, Mary Patricia Willette of Woodlawn, and Carole Lynne Lucas, Gainesville, Ga.; four grandchildren, Mark E. Willette of Alexandria, Va., Elizabeth A. Yaeger, Westminster, Stephen P. Lucas, Lawrenceville, Ga., Kimberly M. Lucas, Dunwoody, Ga.; and one great-grandchild, Lauren K. Lucas, Lawrenceville.
WILLIAM J. LOVELY
FROSTBURG - William J. Lovely, 86, of Coal Bank Drive, NW, Frostburg, died Monday, Oct. 19, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Nov. 5, 1911, in Millville, N.J., he was the son of the late William and Maude (Dowman) Lovely. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Millie M. (Austin) Lovely.
Mr. Lovely was a retired driver for Cowan trucking, and was a member of Teamsters Local 639 in Washington, D.C. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was a member of English Baptist Church, Frostburg.
Surviving are a daughter, Faith Craig and husband, Dr. Joseph Craig, Frostburg; two stepdaughters, Betty Rathbone, Asheville, N.C., and Ruth Rathbone, Phoenix; two grandchildren, Faith and William; 10 step-grandchildren, Ed, Wayne, Betty, JoAnn, George, Bill, Bob, Linda, Catherine and Jenny; and many great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home Thursday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Joseph Craig and the Rev. David Sandvick officiating. Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home after the services by Farrady Post 24 American Legion Honor Guard.
Interment will be in the Fort Lincoln cemetery, Brentwood, at a later date.

HELEN E. LOWE
CUMBERLAND - Helen Elizabeth "Polly" Lowe, 81, of Cumberland Arms, Cumberland, died Wednesday, May 20, 1998, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Jan. 19, 1917, in Omaha, Neb., she was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth; and a sister, Nina Merchant.
Mrs. Lowe was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She was a real estate agent for many years, working for Goodfellow, and then White Dove. She was a member of the Woman's Sports Club; The LaVale Century Club; and Women's Civic Club. She was an avid bridge player belonging to many bridge clubs.
Surviving are a son, Bob Lowe, California; daughters, Jody Gottschamer, Virginia Beach, Va., and Polly Jean DeHart, Gaithersburg; a brother, Jack Ulmer, California; seven grandchildren, Mike Gottschamer, Steve Gottschamer, Laurie Coggins, Sherry Leikin, Darick DeHart, Todd DeHart and Chris Lowe; and one great-grandson, Jordan Leikin.
Friends will be received at the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary, 1302 National Highway, LaVale, on Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m.
Memorial services will be conducted at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Cumberland, on Monday, May 25, 1998, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. John J. Duffus officiating.
Private family interment will be held on Tuesday.
