MINNIE M. MIDDLETON
CUMBERLAND, (Bel Air) - Minnie Mae Middleton, 102, of 15618 Westwood Road, SW, Cumberland (Bel Air), died Saturday, Aug. 8, 1998, at the Cumberland Nursing Home.
Born July 26, 1896 in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Edmund Smith and the late Jeanette (Bowden) Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husband, the late Earl Hendricks Middleton, on March 29, 1990. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Mrs. Middleton was a member of Centre Street United Methodist Church.

Surviving are a son, Earl Paul Middleton, Cumberland (Bel Air); a grandson, Dale Paul Middleton, and wife, Debbie, Westminster; and two great-grandsons, Dennis Middleton, Alexandria, Va., and David Middleton, Westminster.

Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., with the Rev. Lloyd B. McCanna officiating.

Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.

A. PAULINE MIEHL
CUMBERLAND - A. Pauline (Knepp) Miehl, 82, formerly of Cumberland, and for the past 26 years residing in Florida, died Friday, May 22, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Cumberland.
Born Jan. 14, 1916, in Grantsville, she was the daughter of the late Norman Patton and the late Orpha (Miller) Patton. She also was preceded in death by three husbands, Joseph Leo Knepp in 1959, Russell E. Turner in 1979, and Henry Miehl in 1990.

Mrs. Miehl was a graduate nurse and registered X-ray technician.

Surviving are a daughter, Joann Marker, and husband Harold "Jake," Keyser, Short Gap, W.Va.; a stepdaughter, Sandy Field, Lebanon, N.J.; two brothers, John Patton, Florida, and Norman Patton, Florida; three sisters, her twin sister, Harlene Hasenbuhler, Clemons, N.C., Lucille Ritter, Cumberland, and Betty Henry, Manistee, Mich.; three grandchildren, Harold "Jake" Marker III and wife, Kim, Short Gap, J. Dawn McFarland, and husband, Larry, Frostburg, and R. Scott Marker, Baltimore; two great-grandchildren, J.P. Marker and Lauren Marker; and a companion, Frank Bradley.

Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted on Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., with the Rev. Tim McGregor officiating.

Interment will be in Grantsville cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jake Marker, Scott Marker, Larry McFarland, J.P. Marker, Edward Hasenbuhler and Larry Yommer.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Cresaptown Assembly of God Building Fund, Cresaptown, Md.

HAROLD K. "PETE" MILBURN
CUMBERLAND - Harold Knight "Pete" Milburn, 59, of 14340 Valley Road, Cumberland, died Sunday, Aug. 23, 1998, at his home.
Born March 6, 1939, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Virgil William Milburn and the late Phyllis Irene (Oglebay) Milburn. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert A. Milburn; and father-in-law, Richard Shipley.

Mr. Milburn was employed for 22 years at the Kelly-Springfield Tire Company, and was a rural mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. He attended Cumberland Bible Church, was a 1957 graduate of Allegany High School, and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Surviving are his wife of 34 years, I. Linda (Shipley) Milburn, Cumberland; two sons, William Richard Milburn Sr., and wife, Geraldine, Cumberland, and Christopher Allan Milburn, and wife, Regina, Cumberland; one sister, Hester Ann Arrowood, Cumberland; a special niece, Susie Brady, Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; four grandchildren, William Richard Milburn Jr., Rachel Marie Milburn, Ashley Lynn Milburn, Christal Elaine Milburn; two aunts, Doris Lee Rhodes, Baltimore, Jane Bond, Frostburg; one uncle, John Oglebay, Cumberland; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted on Wednesday at Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Keith J. Berkheiser II officiating.

Interment will be in the Maryland Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap.

Military honors will be accorded by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.

Pallbearers will be James Aldridge Jr., Richard P. Shipley Jr., Richard D. Shipley, Gary McKenzie, Jeff Shipley and John Miller Jr.

BERNICE B. MILLER
CROFTON - Bernice B. Miller, 72, formerly of Oldtown, died Tuesday, May 19, 1998, at the Crofton Convalescent Center.
Born April 22, 1926, she was the daughter of the late John H. and Bonnie (Hampton) Layne.

She was the beloved wife of the late Ambrose B. Miller and the devoted mother of Ken Miller of Gambrills, Terry Lee Miller of Severn, and Steve Miller of Baltimore; the dear sister of Lila Parris of Pisgah, N.C., Mary Moore and Ruth Valentine of Cumberland, and Madeline Cousins of Oldtown. She is also survived by several grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Friends will be received at the McCully-Polyniak Funeral Home, 237 E. Patapsco Ave., Baltimore, on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m., with graveside services on Thursday at 2 p.m. in Meadowridge Memorial Park.

CARL EDWARD MILLER
GRANTSVILLE - Carl Edward Miller, 68,of 10922 National Pike, Grantsville, died Thursday, Feb. 5, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born Feb. 27, 1929, in Accident, he was a son of the late Edison and Olive (Lipscomb) Miller.

Mr. Miller attended Maranatha Assembly of God Church. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, he also was a past commander of Grantsville Post 214, American Legion, and was a former member of the Grantsville Fire Department. Mr. Miller was a retired repairman for Landis Office Center.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothea Jean (Twigg) Miller; a son, Joseph Miller and wife, Liz, Waynesburg, Pa.; two daughters, Mary Mittwede and husband, Sam, Grantsville, Terry Guthrie and husband, Harvey, Avilton; and two granddaughters, Nicole Ann and Becky Marie Guthrie.

Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted on Monday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Connell Chaney officiating. Interment will be in Grantsville cemetery where military graveside rites will be accorded by Grantsville Post 214, American Legion.

CEDRIC B. MILLER
CUMBERLAND - Cedric B. "Ced" Miller, 83, of 14002 Bedford Road, Cumberland, died Wednesday, March 4, 1998, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Nov. 17, 1914, in Hyndman, Pa., he was the stepson of the late Fred L. Hurt and the late Mayme (Schroyer) Hurt.

Mr. Miller was a retired clerk for the Western Maryland Railroad with 32 years of service. He also was the owner and operator of the Mountain View Motel and Apartments on Bedford Road. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Mr. Miller was a graduate of Allegany High School and Catherman Business School. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church; Masonic Eastgate Lodge 216; and Ali Ghan Shrine Club. He was the recipient of the Dapper Dan Club's Unsung Hero Award in 1989 for more than 40 years of giving to area youth with his involvement in the Cumberland Hot Stove League. He was one of the original managers of the Hot Stove League and the YMCA Sunday School Basketball League.

Surviving are a wife of 57 years, G. Elizabeth (Hamilton) Miller, Cumberland; a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Sowden, Belleville, Mich.; a son, Cedric Lee Miller and wife Juanita, LaVale; two grandsons, William Lee Miller, Alexandria, Va., and Michael Allen Miller, LaVale; and one cousin, Evelyn Wyper, Culver, Pa.

Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. O. Morton Harris officiating.

Interment will be in Hillcrest Burial Park.

Military honors will be accorded at graveside by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.

DONALD D. MILLER
CUMBERLAND - Donald Dale Miller, 81, of Cumberland, died Thursday, Sept. 10, 1998, at Memorial Hospital.
Born June 21, 1917, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Vernon and Ethel (Kifer) Miller.

Mr. Miller was a former employee of the Celanese Corp. and retired from the Bethlehem Steel Co.

Surviving are his wife, Eva Virginia (Bolyard) Miller; one daughter, Frances Deaton, Texas; her children and grandchildren; one stepdaughter, Margaret V. Martz and husband Ed, Cumberland; one stepdaughter-in-law, Dolores E. Shahan, Cumberland; two step-grandsons, Gregory E. Martz Sr. and wife Cathy, Cumberland, and Paul Shahan and wife Mary, LaVale; and three step-great-grandchildren, Gregory E. Martz Jr., Eric Shahan and Lynn Hall.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Richard H. Jewell officiating.

Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Cumberland.
