MILDRED I. MINNICK
FROSTBURG - Mildred Ilene Minnick, 83, of 11611 Dobbin Drive, Frostburg, died Thursday, May 21, 1998, at her residence.
Born Aug. 26, 1914, in Consol, she was the daughter of the late Leroy Jeffries and Grace Virginia (Michaels) Jeffries McKenzie. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Jerome Minnick, in April 1975.
Mrs. Minnick was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church.
She formerly was a housekeeper for Charlie's Motel, Frostburg.
Surviving are three sons, Robert Jerome Minnick and wife Isabel, James Bernard Minnick, and Raymond Francis Minnick and wife Mary, all of Frostburg; one daughter, Leona Agnes Baker, Frostburg; two brothers, Francis Raymond McKenzie and wife Mary, and Eugene "Flooze" McKenzie and wife Hazel; two sisters, Thelma Raley and Evelyn Shriver; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Prayers for the departed will be recited at the funeral home Friday at 7:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael's Catholic Church on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Paul Byrnes as celebrant.
Interment will be in the St. Michael's Parish cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
ROSALIE E. MISCH
CRESAPTOWN - Rosalie E. Misch, 78, of Cresaptown, died Monday, Jan. 5, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born June 5, 1919, in Pinto, she was the daughter of the late John and Lottie (Chilcott) Shelley. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Misch.
Mrs. Misch was a retired beautician and waitress. She was a member of the St. Ambrose Catholic Church; and a member of the Animal Welfare Societies.
Surviving are three sisters, Ethel Howsare, Viola Twigg and Mildred Douthitt, all of Cresaptown; one brother, James Shelley, Cresaptown; two brothers-in-law, Theodore Lasky and wife Olga, and Carl Lasky and wife Joan, all of Ohio; two stepdaughters, Suzann Ryan and Maryann Johnson; three stepsons, Ralph J. Misch Jr., James Misch and William Misch; and a number of nieces and nephews.
At. Mrs. Misch's request, her body was cremated.
Graveside services will be held at a later date.
The Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, is in charge of arrangements.
ELIZABETH B. MITCHELL
WESTERNPORT - Elizabeth B. Mitchell, 87, of 221 Vine St., Westernport, and formerly of Michigan, died Thursday, March 26, 1998, at the Moran Manor Nursing Home, Westernport.
She was born June 26, 1910, in Cross, W.Va., a daughter of the late Arthur William Bennett and Anna Elizabeth (Biggs) Bennett. She also was preceded in death by her husband, William Mitchell; a son, Marvin L. Mitchell; two grandsons, David and Jonathon Colebank; and two brothers, Howard Bennett and Maurice Bennett.
Mrs. Mitchell was a retired school bus driver for the Farmington, Mich., School System. She was Baptist by faith and was a member of the Farmington Baptist Church, Farmington. She formerly attended the Bible Baptist Church, Barton, Md.
Surviving are two sons, William J. Mitchell, Fenton, Mich., and David Mitchell, Fallbrook, Calif; three daughters, Norma Johnson, Holly, Mich., JoAnne Ogg, Miami, Fla., and Nancy Daub, Narrowsburg, N.Y.; one sister, Dorothy Saville, Cross, W.Va.; 19 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted in the funeral home on Sunday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Dallas Bunch officiating.
Interment will be in Sinclair Memorial Park, Cross, W.Va.
BERNADINE MOFFATT
FRANKLIN, N.H. - Bernadine Warnick Moffatt, 60, of 11 Freedom Drive, Franklin, formerly of Moscow, Md., died Friday, Sept. 11, 1998, at Concord Hospital, Concord.
Born Nov. 3, 1937, in Frostburg, Md., she was the daughter of the late Troxel and Annie Laura (Broadwater) Warnick Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard O. Moffatt, in 1984.
Mrs. Moffatt was retired from General Motors Lake Orion, Mich., as an inspector. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in New Hampshire.
She is survived by one son, Richard L. Moffatt and wife, Linda, Clarkston, Mich; one daughter, Debbie Gravilla and husband, Mike, Andover; four brothers, Ellis Warnick and wife, Edna, Moscow, Leslie Warnick and wife, Rae, Lonaconing, Md., Bernard Warnick and wife, Bonnie, Mount Zion, Ill., Donald Warnick and wife, Judy, Pontiac, Mich.; two sisters, Freda Rogers, Reading, Pa., and Hazel Mason and husband, Bill, Rock Hill, S.C.; three grandchildren, Melissa Gravilla, Carrie Gravilla and Richard Gravilla; and two step grandchildren, Ryan Amadure and Tim Lindeberg.
Friends will be received at the Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton, on Monday, Sept. 14, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted there on Tuesday, Sept. 15, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. John Park officiating.
Interment will be at Laurel Hill cemetery, Moscow.
AMY E. MONAHAN
MOUNT SAVAGE - Amy E. Monahan, 90, formerly of Mount Savage and a resident of Frostburg Village Nursing Home, died Thursday, March 5, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Jan. 14, 1908, in Mount Savage, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Frances (Barrett) Carbine. She also was preceded in death by her husband, John Francis Monahan; and three sisters, Catherine Barbour, Mary Bennett and Josephine Hubbard.
Mrs. Monahan was a graduate of Frostburg State University, and taught prior to her marriage. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, the Sodality, and A.O.H.
Surviving are one son, Edward Monahan and wife, Carolyn, Mount Savage; one daughter, Mary Pat Shertzer and husband, John, Mount Savage; four grandchildren, Duane Monahan, Deedee O'Baker, Kathleen Zamagias and Rosemary Shertzer; four great-grandchildren, Logan O'Baker and Connor O'Baker, Stephen Zamagias and Elizabeth Zamagias; and a brother-in-law, Russell Hubbard, Havertown, Pa.
Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, P.A., 60 West Main St., Frostburg, on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. The Christian Wake Service will be held at 7:30 p.m.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Mount Savage, on Monday at 10 a.m. with Father T. Milton Hipsley as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Patrick's cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Donald Rice, Harry Brannon, William Pratt, James Hott, Jim Hotchkiss and Carl Mulligan.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mount Savage Volunteer Fire Company or to Frostburg Village Nursing Home.
MARGARET V. MONAHAN
FROSTBURG - Margaret Virginia (Buskirk) Jeffries Monahan, 74, of 178 Mount Pleasant St., Frostburg, died May 22, 1998, at her residence.
Born March 22, 1924, in Klondike, she was the daughter of the late George Buskirk and Mary Crawford. She also was preceded in death by her first husband, William Jeffries, in 1948.
Mrs. Monahan was a former Avon representative.
She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Frostburg, and she was Past Madam President and 50-year charter member of the Frostburg Eagles Ladies Auxiliary #1273.
Surviving are her husband, Thomas P. Monahan, Edgewater; two sons, Bill Jeffries, Frostburg, Jim Jeffries, and wife, Julita, Frostburg; one daughter, Patricia Ernest, and husband, Scott, Edgewater; 10 grandchildren, Shelley, Nancy, Connie, Jennifer, Jim, Wendi, B.J., Melissa, Matt and Brian; and five great-grandchildren.
