THELMA V. MORRIS
LAVALE - Thelma Virginia Morris, 76, of 10701 Greenpoint Road, NW, LaVale, died Sunday, Nov. 22, 1998, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Feb. 1, 1922, in Smoke Hole, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Page Paxton and the late Della (Teter) Paxton.

Surviving are her husband, Ulysses "John" Morris; three daughters, Brenda Foster and husband Raymond, Picaway, W.Va., Barbara Amtower, Burlington, W.Va., and Bonnie Bosley and husband Roger, Harrisburg, Pa.; three sons, James Morris and wife Josephine, Levels, W.Va., the Rev. Milton Morris and wife Frances, Meyersdale, Pa., and Johnny Morris and wife Donna, Cumberland; two brothers, Ronnie Shreve and Eston Paxton, both of Cumberland; one sister, Genevieve Adams, Clearville, Pa.; 17 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Bob D'Angelo officiating.

Burial will be in the Prosperity Christian cemetery, near Chaneysville, Pa.

Pallbearers will be Gary Barnes, Donald Norris, Jesse Morris, Francis Self Jr., Johnny Morris Jr. and Aaron Bosley.

OLLIE F. MORRISON
MOUNT SAVAGE - Ollie Frances Morrison, 84, formerly of 15501 Mount Savage Road, Mount Savage, and residing at Lions Manor Nursing Home, died Friday, May 22, 1998, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Oct. 9, 1913, in Beryle, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Luther O'Neal Evans and the late Matilda (Matthews) Evans. She also was preceded in death by her husband, William Dale Morrison, in 1982; a sister, Erma Guy; a brother, Harry Evans; and a step-granddaughter, Jennifer Lee (Morrison).

Surviving are three sons, Richard Morrison, Falling Waters, W.Va., Gary William Morrison, and wife, Pat, Fort Ashby, W.Va., and Kenneth L. Morrison Sr., and wife, Beverly, with whom she resided prior to Lions Manor Nursing Home, Mount Savage; two daughters, Barbara Jean Pease, and husband, Bill, New Philadelphia, Ohio, and Darlene Gable, Somerset, Pa.; a brother, Richard Evans, Westernport; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., with the Rev. Benny R. Brakeall officiating.

Interment will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Pallbears will be grandsons, Rick Wills, Mark Ruby, Clark Gable, Jeff Morrison, Tadd Schircliff and Justin Sirbaugh. Honorary pallbearers are Gary Snyder, Mike Winters and Chuck Hutzell.

JAMES W. "HICK" MORTON JR
LONACONING- James William "Hick" Morton Jr., 84, of 21209 Crystal Run Road, Lonaconing, died Wednesday, Dec. 16, 1998, at the home of his daughter in Barton.
Born Feb. 23, 1914, in Lonaconing, he was a son of the late James S. Morton and Annie (Frye) Morton. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Irma R. (Robertson) Morton, on Sept. 21, 1991.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Lonaconing, the Alvin C. Neat Post #5280 V.F.W., the Lonaconing Republican Club, and Georges Creek Senior Citizens. He was retired from Celanese Corporation with 44 years' service. Mr. Morton was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served in World War II and the Korean Conflict.

Surviving are a son, Ronald J. Morton, and wife, Linda, Ridgeley, W.Va.; and a daughter, Dorothy Ann "Dottie" Winebrenner, and husband, Jim, Barton. Also surviving are a brother, John F. Morton, LaVale; and two sisters, Genevieve Timney and Isabel Morton, both of Lonaconing; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Friends will be received at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing, on Thursday, Dec. 17, 1998, from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Friday, Dec. 18, 1998, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, Dec. 19, 1998, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Denny Michael officiating.

Interment will follow at Frostburg Memorial Park, Frostburg.

Alvin C. Neat Post #5280 V.F.W. will hold a memorial service on Friday, Dec. 18, 1998, at 7:15 p.m.

DONALD E. MOSES
LONACONING - Donald E. Moses, 56, of 6 Allegany St., Lonaconing, died Wednesday, July 15, 1998, at his residence.
Born Oct. 6, 1941, in Lonaconing, he was a son of the late Charles Moses Sr. and Esther (Wilson) Moses.

Mr. Moses was Roman Catholic by faith. He was retired from Westvaco Corp. having worked in machine coating. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves.

Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Barbara Jean (McCormick) Moses; one son, Anthony "Tony" Robert Moses, at home; two brothers, Charles Moses Jr. and wife Betty, and Terry Moses and wife Ann, both of Lonaconing; two sisters, Cathy Fatkin and husband David, Carrollton, Texas, and Sherry Lambert, Lonaconing; two sisters-in-law, Alice Neff and husband Fred, Oakland, and Margaret Ann Hawkins and husband Charles "Buck," St. Clair Shores, Mich.; several nieces and nephews; and one special niece, Tammy Shockey.

At Mr. Moses' request there will be no visitation. His body will be cremated.

Private graveside services will be held at a later date.

The Boal Funeral Home, Lonaconing, is in charge of arrangements.

ELMER W. MOUNTAIN
BOWIE - Elmer W. Mountain died Wednesday, June 24, 1998.
He was the beloved husband of Jane P. Mountain; beloved father of Marlene R. Harmon, Hanover, and the late Gary W. Mountain; grandfather of Sean and Allison Harmon and Brian Mountain; and brother of Mary M. Galley, Monrovia, and Charlotte L. Northcraft, Hancock.

Relatives and friends may call at the Robert E. Evans Funeral Home, Route 450 and Race Track Road, Bowie, on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held at the Cresthill Baptist Church, 6510 Laurel-Bowie Road, Bowie, on Saturday, June 27, 1998, at 10 a.m.

Interment will be in the Meadowridge Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the above church.

ELEANOR MOWBRAY
BARTON - Eleanor Mowbray, 76, of the Kensington-Algonquin, Cumberland, and formerly of Legislative Road, Barton, died Friday, Aug. 14, 1998, at her residence.
Born on Dec. 23, 1921, at Barton, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Matthew and Mary (Tennant) Mowbray.

Miss Mowbray was a retired supervisor of the General Accounting Office. She worked for the Federal Government in Washington, D.C., having retired in 1977.

She was a member of the Barton Presbyterian Church. She was a 1939 graduate of Barton High school, and graduated from Western Maryland College in 1943. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by one brother, Watson Mowbray and wife, Juanita, of Arnold; one niece, Patricia Burl, and husband, John; a great-niece, Amy Thomas; and a great-nephew, John Watson, all of Chester.

Friends will be received at the Boal Memorial Chapel in Barton on Sunday, Aug. 16, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday, Aug. 17, at 11 a.m. by the Rev. John Park and the Rev. Harold Malone.

Interment will be in Mountain View cemetery, Moscow Mills.

EILEEN A. MOWRY
CUMBERLAND - Eileen Agnes Mowry, 81, formerly of Ellerslie, died Thursday, Aug. 27, 1998, at New Hope Domiciliary Care Home, Cumberland.
Born May 29, 1917, in Lock Haven, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Orrie C. and Gertrude E. (Emerick) Dietz. She also was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Herbert F. Mowry.

Surviving are a brother, Calvin Dietz, Ohio; and two sisters, Marie Hosselrode, Baltimore, and Juaneta Hartge, Ohio.

Mrs. Mowry was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Bible Church, Ellerslie.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, Pa., on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday.

Interment will be in the Restlawn cemetery.
