THOMAS W. MURRAY
DELTONA, Fla. - Thomas William Murray, 79, of West Gaucho Circle, Deltona, died Monday, Aug. 17, 1998, at Fish Memorial/Florida Hospital.
He was born in Cumberland, Md., and had moved to Fort Lauderdale, then to Deltona in 1984.

He was a retired bakery and ice cream salesman. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Cumberland, the Zion Methodist Church, Cumberland, and the Deltona Shuffleboard Club.

Mr. Murray was a veteran of the U.S. Army Infantry in World War II.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Virginia Murray, Deltona; one son, Thomas W. Murray II, Margate; two daughters, Carol Jean Selby Jr., McHenry, Md., and Beverly Ann Holsombach, Heathrow; one brother, Charles W. Murray, Cadillac, Mich.; one sister, Mary O'Brien, LaVale, Md.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, 1295 Saxon Blvd., Orange City, Fla.

EVELYN A. MYERS
FROSTBURG - Evelyn A. Myers, age 80, of 90 Meshach Frost Village, formerly of Lonaconing, died Saturday, July 18, 1998, at Frostburg Village Nursing Home.
Born Aug. 21, 1917, in Grahamtown, she was the daughter of the late Sylvester and Eliza (Bradley) Green. She also was preceded in death by one brother; two sisters; two children, Donna June and Faye Myers; one grandson, Richard Lee Myers; and was the last of her immediate family.

Ms. Myers was a member of the Kingdom Hall Jehovah's Witness, Frostburg.

Surviving are two sons, James Myers, and wife, Kay, Frostburg, and Raymond Myers, and wife, Wilda, Greencastle, Pa.; three daughters, Norma Sigler, and husband, Ken, Hagerstown, Mary Sirbaugh, and husband, Dick, Holly, Michigan, and Shirley Weslow, and husband, Stan, Eckhart; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 1 p.m. with Mr. John Richmond officiating.

Interment will be in the Laurel Hill cemetery, Lonaconing.

FANNIE FRANCES MYERS
CUMBERLAND - Fannie Frances Myers, 82, of 656 Fayette St., Cumberland, formerly of Brice Hollow Road, died Wednesday, June 10, 1998, at Washington Medical Center, Washington, D.C.
Born Jan. 16, 1916, in Flintstone, she was the daughter of the late James Stickley and the late Charity Mae (Long) Stickley. She also was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Myers, in 1990.

Surviving are two daughters, Emma Mae Hubbard, and husband, James, with whom she resided, Cumberland, and Gueild Wolfe, and husband, William, Winchester, Va.; two sons, John W. Myers, and wife, Charlotte, LaVale, and Ronald Myers, of Arizona; a brother, George Stickley, Flintstone; 17 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted on Monday at 11 a.m. at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., with the Rev. Frederick Parker officiating.

Interment will be in Mount Tabor cemetery.

GLADISSA J. MYERS
CUMBERLAND - Gladissa J. Myers, 77, of Cumberland Nursing Home, formerly of Baltimore, died Tuesday, June 9, 1998, at Memorial Hospital.
Born June 4, 1921, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Wilber and Ida Mae (Coffman) Tysinger. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn W. Myers, in 1995; two sisters, Arline Williams and Agatha Osbourne; and two brothers, Leon and Kedrick Tysinger.

Mrs. Myers was a former employee of the Town Bakery, Baltimore. She was a member of Livingstone Church of the Brethren, Cumberland.

Surviving are two sons, Roger G. Myers, and wife, Janet, Cumberland, and Robert L. Myers, Baltimore; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Timothy L. Monn officiating.

Interment will be in the Maryland Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap.

JAMES M. MYERS
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - James M. Myers, 61, formerly of Cumberland, Md., died Friday, Jan. 2, 1998, at his home in Louisville.
A native of Shaft, Md., he was a retired owner of Carpet Country in Louisville. He was a member of the VFW and the Louisville Motorcycle Club.

Surviving are his wife, the former Drema Huddleston; daughters, Linda Bratcher, Ridgeley, W.Va., Brenda Barr, Berryville, Va., and Aleshia Farmer, Fort Campbell, Ky.; sons, David Myers, Del Ray Beach, Fla., and Lauren Larson, Belcamp, Md.; and 12 grandchildren.

The funeral and burial were private.

Arrangements were under the direction of Commonwealth-Stony Brook Funeral Home, Louisville.

Memorial gifts may be directed to the Hospice of Louisville.

LEONA J. MYERS
CUMBERLAND - Leona J. Myers, 66, of Cumberland, died Thursday, May 21, 1998, at her residence.
One of 11 children, she was born Jan. 1, 1932, in Cumberland, and was the daughter of the late John and Emma (Barger) Hare. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Otha Walson Myers, in 1992; and one son, Larry L. Myers, in 1950.

Mrs. Myers retired from Memorial Hospital in laundry service. She was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Humbird Street, Cumberland.

Surviving are one son, Raymond Myers, Shepherdstown, W.Va.; five daughters, Jeanette Fisher and Ronney Ralston, Carpendale, W.Va., Shelia Shaffer and husband Glen, Cresaptown, Esther Gordon and husband John, LaVale, Debbie Shaffer and husband Wendell, Flintstone, and Kathy Twigg and husband J.D., Cumberland; three brothers, Thomas Hare and Robert Hare, both of Cumberland, and Stanley Hare and wife Vi, Tennessee; 12 grandchildren, Todd Fisher and wife Robin, Scott Fisher and wife Maria, Melissa Fisher Derryberry and husband Troy, Billie Jo Fisher Summers and husband Bennie, Tina Shambaugh Howard and husband Bruce, Bobbie Jo Shambaugh and Mike, Robert E. Shambaugh Jr. and wife Jessica, J. David Gordon and Jill, Holly Shaffer and Lyn, Kimberly Shaffer and J.J., Tracy Hockaday and John Hockaday; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home Saturday at 9:30 a.m. with the Rev. Harold R. McClay Jr. officiating and Ruth Yoder, Leona's guardian angel, as vocalist.

Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Cumberland.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers along with Bruce Howard, Ben Summers and Troy Derryberry.

SUSANNA B. MYERS
ECKHART - Susanna "Suzy" Beatrice Myers, 91, of Pittsboro, N.C., formerly of Parkersburg Road, Eckhart, died Monday, June 1, 1998, at the Victoria Health Center in Ashville, N.C.
Born July 11, 1906, in Staffordshire, England, she was the daughter of the late Joseph T. and Susanna (Snelson) Simpson. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Rance Myers; and a daughter, Phyllis Myers.

Mrs. Myers was a homemaker and a member of the Eckhart Baptist Church, Frostburg.

Surviving are one son, Russell Myers and wife Virginia, Upper Marlboro; one daughter, Eleanor Gay and husband Glen, Pittsboro, with whom she resided; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Richard Metrick officiating.

Interment will be in the Eckhart cemetery.

WILBUR HARRY MYERS
KITZMILLER - Wilbur Harry Myers, 75, of North Hill Road, Kitzmiller, passed away Monday, July 13, 1998, as a result of a farming accident.
Born Feb. 14, 1923, in Shallmar, he was a son of the late Jasper C. and Harriett Isabelle (Harvey) Myers. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Eva E. (Pritts) Myers.

Wilbur was a lifelong farmer, a 49-year charter member of the Kitzmiller Lions Club, a member of the Garrett County Historical Society, a former member of the Garrett County Fair Association, and the Garrett County Farm Bureau.

He is survived by two daughters, Barbara McKenney, and husband, Ron, of Kitzmiller, Connie Biden, and husband, Tom, of Hampstead; one brother, Herbert Hoover Myers, also of North Hill Road, Kitzmiller; three sisters, Isabelle M. Wilson, College Park, Esther Evans, Fort Ashby, W.Va., and Helen Faye Greenwalt, St. Louis, Mo.; and three grandchildren.

Friends may call at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, Kitzmiller, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Brenda Shreve officiating.

Interment will be in the Myers Family cemetery at Short Run.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Kitzmiller Lions Club.
